I chosed the place by location to places I want to go and free shuttle from the airport. Definitely it’s nice that has pool but would be much better some small breakfast in this price to enjoy it 😊 The rooms are big but would be nice if it would be updated, place has potential if it would be more modern. The big windows are nice but you cannot take curtains off because everybody can see you from lobby, stairs pr other room - close to entrance.

The room that we stayed has very loud noise of water pump. Whenever someone use the toilet, the water pump will pump the water and it's very noisy.

C'était notre première nuit après notre vol et nous voulions quelque chose de facile, et confortable pour se remettre sur pied. Ils sont venus nous chercher gratuitement à l'aéroport, ce qui est un plus pour se faciliter la vie.

• Steffen (7/5): - Die nähe zum Strand und zu vielen Restaurants. Für eine Nacht vor dem Rückflug/bei der Ankunft zu empfehlen. Late checkout gegen Aufpreis möglich, wenn Zimmer nicht gebucht sind. Der Pool war dreckig und nicht zu benutzen, obwohl er 'gereinigt' wurde. Zudem kein Platz für Sonnenliegen und alles im Schatten. Lieber ans Meer gehen. Neben den üblichen Geckos und Moskitos, leider auch Kakerlaken und Tausendfüßler im Zimmer.

• Gill (8/5): Friendly peaceful accommodation. - We loved Leighton Resort, particularly the location, which was in a quiet road, but very close to shops, restaurants and the beach. The staff were all lovely, helpful and very friendly, which was appreciated at a difficult time due to flight cancellations. Although simple accommodation, it was very comfortable with a lovely breakfast. A fridge in the room would have been nice, but we were able to put things in the main fridge.

The location was perfect , up a quiet side road but only a 5 to 10 min stroll from the main shops bars resteraunts and the beach. The staff were all respectful and very helpful to a man/woman. Overall very good value for money and they included a lift to airport in the price Nothing really to complain about

Понравился персонал, всегда были внимательны и помогали в решении любых вопросов. Даже пожарили мне купленные на рынке креветки! Вкусные завтраки, красивый вид из окна на пальмовую рощу, куда иногда прилетали стайки попугаев. Рядом в шаговой доступности есть кафе, магазины, а через большой отель можно напрямую попасть на пляж (ну идти минут 5-10). От аэропорта минут 15 ехать, а еще представитель отеля встретил нас после рейса, за что ему большое спасибо! Бассейн желательно было бы освежить и получше почистить, но плавать можно! Комната тоже была несколько "уставшей", но в целом в нормальном состоянии.

The breakfast was ok, typical for Sri Lanka, got a welcome drink also, which was nice. The room is spacious, with a balcony and a garden view. Bathroom was clean, with hot water shower.

Room 208 - bathroom light when turned off flashed as a strobe light all night, thankfully I had an eye mask to wear. The free transfer was a bit tricky to organise and we waited 40 minutes after calling. Unsure why we provided our arrival time yet the transfer was not ready for us.

Bathroom only had a bar of soap, no shampoo or shower gel (the only hotel in Sri Lanka in a two week trip where I found this). You can pay by credit card but they add 3% to cover the credit card fees (not a problem - just be aware). I had messaged and pre-booked the transfer back to the airport for 06.45. On arrival they asked if it could be 06.30 as two other people had booked for this time. I reluctantly agreed. When I got back from dinner I was asked if it could be 06.15 and put on the phone with the manager! I stood firm at 06.30 but I really had to push for that. As it was I arrived at the airport too early and had a long wait before my flight.

Tienen servicio de transfer gratis a cualquier hora, a nosotros nos llevaron a las 4am al aeropuerto. Calida acogida con zumo de bienvenida. El chico de la recepcion nos arreglo el shuttle al aeropuerto gratuito, a la hora convenida sin problemas. El chofer tambien fue simpatico y agradable. La ubicacion es genial para tu 1er o ultimo dia de viaje debido a la proximidad con el aeropuerto y el transfer gratuito. El hotel en sí, un aprobado raspado. Pues aunque cuenta con lo básico y A/C, necesita un lavado de cara general. Presion del agua de la ducha escasa. Se ve, que el hotel en su momento, tuvo que estar bastante bien, pero unas reformitas no le vendria nada mal para recuperar el esplendor que seguro tuvo en su dia.

Big bathroom with shower and hot water( You must wait few minutes). Nice view, quaiet. Clouse to shops, coffe shopping, restaurants. Currency Exchange same like in city. Het water van de douche werd helaas niet heel warm. Laatste avond had ik bezoek van ongedierte, direct goed geholpen door het personeel. Het zwembad is helaas niet uitnodigend. De waterval heeft geen 1 keer aangestaan, het water is ijskoud. Dat vond ik erg jammer. Het ontbijt ijt is prima en basic. De laatste ochtend helaas geen ontbijt to go meegekregen. Wel heel fijn dat de gratis (airport)transfer erbij zit.

• Olga (9/5): Sehr gutes Personal und Küche, Poolbereich verbesserungswürdig - Sehr praktisches Hotel mit Halbpension, ideal, wenn man kostenlos vom Flughafen abgeholt oder zum Flughafen gebracht werden möchte und sehr gut zubereitete sri-lankische Gerichte sowie Getränke genießen will. Der Strand ist ganz in der Nähe. Bequeme Betten und gemütliche Sitzmöbel gibt es sowohl auf dem Balkon als auch in der Lobby. Für uns war das Hotel perfekt, da unser Rückflug erst gegen Mitternacht ging. Nach dem Check-out durften wir den ganzen Tag im Hotel bleiben, das Restaurant, den Pool und die Toiletten benutzen, unser Gepäck im Aufbewahrungsraum lassen und wurden schließlich um 21 Uhr sehr bequem, pünktlich und kostenlos vom Besitzer persönlich zum Flughafen gebracht. Besonders gut gefallen haben uns die Mitarbeiter Iyany, Ram und Senet. Die Köchin hat sehr leckeres Essen zubereitet, die Portionen waren großzügig und das Bier stets frisch, kalt und günstig. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! Das Wasser im Badezimmer war teilweise nur lauwarm und der Wasserdruck eher schwach. Positiv ist, dass die Mitarbeiter schnell reagiert und die Situation zeitweise verbessert haben. Eine dauerhaft stabile Warmwasserversorgung und ein stärkerer Wasserdruck würden den Komfort deutlich erhöhen. Der Poolbereich mit Pool, Liegen und den Toiletten könnte insgesamt einladender gestaltet und besser gepflegt werden. Mehr regelmäßige Reinigung, funktionsfähige Technik (z. B. der dekorative Wasserfall) sowie zusätzliche Pflanzen oder Blumen an der kahlen Wand würden die Atmosphäre spürbar verbessern. Auch klareres Wasser im Pool wäre wünschenswert. Da der Strand in Negombo insgesamt wenig Schatten bietet und teilweise vermüllt ist, wäre ein attraktiver und gut gepflegter Poolbereich eine echte Bereicherung für die Gäste.

• Elisabeth (7/5): Perfekt zum Ankommen - Der kostenlose Flughafen Shuttle, der uns sogar um 3:30 Uhr morgens abholte und das Frühstück sowie die freundliche Betreuung am nächsten Tag war hervorragend. Das Hotel hat eine Kooperation mit einem Spa, dass wir leider nicht nutzen konnten, aber so günstige Preise habe ich in meiner gesamten Zeit auf Sri Lanka nicht mehr gesehen. Es ist zwar nicht direkt am Strand gelegen, aber sehr Strand nah, und alles Wichtige ist fußläufig zu erreichen . Der Pool war für uns super praktisch, weil mein Freund noch länger sich vom Jetlag erholen musste und ich somit mich schon mal in die Sonne legen konnte . Außerdem konnte ich dort zu einem Spitzenpreis vom super freundlicher Hotelpersonal eine Simkarte kaufen und habe knapp ein Zehntel dafür bezahlt, was mein Freund für eine eSIM bezahlt hat.
