Guest Reviews
- Michael (2/5): Confusing and not as expected - Upon arrival at the Packard station on the MBTA Green B-line, the only thing denoting 1110 Commonwealth Avenue, Brookline MA is a hand painted sign saying “1110”. The lettering on the side of the building says “Nora’s House” in crumbling letters. Although there are several lock-boxes chained to a railing near the front door, there is nothing to indicate that this is “Packard’s Corner Apartments by Atlas, Brookline” nor were there any instructions for how I should get access to my room. After walking through a partially broken front door into an entry way, I was concerned for my safety when, upon pressing the doorbell, I was buzzed in despite not being asked in any way why I wanted access to the building – I am under the impression that anyone pressing the doorbell is admitted to the building and will have free run of the building. When I entered, there were mailboxes (again nothing marked “Packard’s Corner Apartments by Atlas, Brookline”) on my left and a room full of people of Chinese heritage (speaking Chinese) using computers on my right. I asked one of them whether he knew anything about Packard’s Corner Apartments by Atlas, Brookline (and showed him a printout of my reservations). The young man I asked was very polite and told me that he had never heard of them. I then looked up my reservation online and found the phone number listed, called it, and got a voicemail for “Steve”. At this point, I was very dissatisfied with the service and beginning to be somewhat concerned
- Daniele (2/5): Worst hotel I ever stayed - There isn't any plate with the name of the hotel.
No staff in the lobby and difficult to reach by phone and no supportive at all.
Building is crumbling with bad smell. You have feeling to be unsafe. The room is terrible. Bathroom is old, dirty and there is rust everywhere.
Power sockets are partially out of the wall and definitely dangerous.
Curtains are broken and it's impossible to avoid that the light comes inside.
Rooms are close to the train rails and quite impossible to sleep.
Lights in the bedroom are out of the order. I asked support by phone to the manager but he didn't take care!
I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Comfortable and tidy place!
- Adam (8/5): Easy check in, great value - Wonderful neighborhood, easy check in process and very efficient. Will stay again.
- Jessica (8/5): - The only downfall was the smell in the hallways. The apartment was nice, clean, and comfy. The odor was not in the apartment, only in the hallway.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Warning. This is not a hotel. This is an apartment for visiting international students. Hallway smelled of mothballs. Lock box for room keys did not work. Took 10 minutes to get it out. Called the number listed for contact twice and got no return call. Bath tub had mold. Many cleaning products left out, mops, bags etc. Plug covers cracked. No guide for parking, which is hard to get after 8pm.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Went on a getaway to boston and found this place. Great price, very accommodating, clean. Over all great stay. Only thing is that parking is limited. If your from out of state just be careful.
- Linda (8/5): No maid service - I wasn't aware there would be no maid service. I don't mind that--just wasn't aware as some apartments do provide it. The TV was also a little tricky and sometimes froze.
- Ann (8/5): fine for our needs - I booked this place for my husband and daughter so that she could attend her college orientation. The location was great for convenience to the university and the T. My husband told me the place was kinda institutional in appearance. He showed me photos, and the hallway reminded me of a hospital corridor, and the building exterior reminded me of the apartment blocks constructed in East Berlin during communist rule before the wall came down. Very blocky and spartan looking. The room was fine, but there were a few odd things. If you are expecting this to be like a vacation rental, it is not. There is a kitchen, but they provide very little to help you use it. My husband thought it odd that there were not even salt & pepper shakers, and even though two people were staying, only one set of towels were provided, but they did bring more right away when asked.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Dirty - don't bother - Wow, where do I begin? First of all, the building looks like a dump from outside. It's a very old, unkept building. I made my way to the room and it seemed clean and spacious. The cleanliness part soon faded when I noticed black mold along the perimeter of the shower/bath. If I could upload photos, I'd display them. I had planned to make dinner so set about to cook and noticed that the oven wasn't warming up. It turns out the dial is backwards so I had to turn it low to get it high. Pretty ok stocked but nothing to use in the oven even though there is an oven. Won't be staying here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Studio apartment or hotel room?? - No staff, laundry machines don't work. Full kitchen supplies, clean bathroom and bedroom, but not hotel-like furniture. Next to ground-level subway, which can be heard. It was kinda soothing, though. Felt like a student hotel/business project
- Mark (10/5): Nice spot - Great location and very hip spot close to BU and Fenway.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good - Good
- Susan (10/5): Central affordable quiet studio - Excellent affordable studio with nice kitchen
