Guest Reviews
- Larry (10/5): - clean rooms
- Randall (8/5): - Stay was very comfortable and the staff was excellent
- PAUL (8/5): - Overall a good experience. Facilities are certainly dated but a good value for the money.
- judith (10/5): - The family atmosphere & history of the owner who envisioned a dream on property & brought it to life !!!
- CHARLES (8/5): - Our room was clean and easy access from the highway. The queen size bed could use a mattress pad for a little more comport. Just do to construction design , the big step up into the bathroom was a little steep. Other than that all was good, good value and easy to access to all shopping and dinner places.
- Larry (10/5): number one motel - very nice clean room very good staff would stay there again
- Donald (10/5): - This was a nice inexpensive place to stay so we could get to the airport for an early departure the next morning! It was clean and neat but is naturally showing its age a bit.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Allen's Budget Motel is kind of a happy blast from the past including old-fashioned cleanliness and a staff that goes above and beyond. This was our second stay, and we love the place. You can always count on Allen's Budget Motel being clean and cozy and staffed with great people.
- Klaus-J. (10/5): - Das Zimmer war sehr groß , gepflegt und sauber . Vermieterin Pam war sehr freundlich .Ich würde es wieder nehmen und für kurztrips weiter empfehlen.
- Richard (8/5): - Older motel but room was a good size and clean. Bring your own shampoo as none is provided along with no hand towels. Bath towels were fairly new. Park right in front of your room. Great accommodation for the price.
- Bert (8/5): - Allen's Budget Motel was an economical solution to our visit near Watertown. The room reminds us of something out of the 70s or 80s, nothing fancy, but very usable. With the A/C going we didn't hear any outside noise. Pleasant staff.
- Kelly (10/5): Weekend stay - Allen's Motel is older but extremely clean, comfortable and accommodating. Our late arrival was no problem since we called ahead. Beds and pillows really comfortable and staff very friendly. Central to many locations and more than worth the price. Will stay again!
- Jeanette (8/5): - Older property, reasonable $, clean, Apt. type units include, kitchenette with sink, frig, microwave, multiple areas. Small shower bath, traffic noisy from road in daytime, quiet at night.
- Rhonda (10/5): - The rooms are always tidy.
- Janice (10/5): - Great staff, very friendly.
- Abigail (8/5): - It was nice
- Edward J (10/5): - I always get treated well at this hoteĺ/motel.
- Joseph (10/5): nice - as usual, a great stay!!! Room was comfortable and spacious. Great deal for the money spent!!
- Laura (10/5): - I have stayed here several times I like it nobody bothers you. Nothing fancy but clean no bugs nice shower. Will stay there again.
- Jennifer (8/5): Got hotel - Really enjoyed my stay
- Paul (8/5): Very good place for the price - Room was fine and the clerk was friendly. Beds were full, not queen, so not especially roomy--but great value overall.
- Kate (10/5): - We were pleasantly surprised to get upgraded to a family suite. Price was very reasonable, and the suite was spacious and clean.
Traffic is a little loud because the road is right out front, but the location is very close to 81. Very pleased with the experience and would definitely go back
- Jodie (8/5): - Just overnight stay with a good price.
- Rhonda (10/5): - Ended up getting a room upgrade. The room is clean, has a small fridge and freezer. The shower is all tile and large, one of the best showers I've been in as far as lodgings go. The beds are comfortable
- Wendy (10/5): - Simple! Kitchenette with Frig and microwave. I hope
Very close to fort drum where we had a meeting. Very friendly. Parked car right at the front door of our unit on the first floor.
We will stay there again when we have a meeting at fort drum
- Shannon (6/5): - Loved the big room with nice sized fridge, sink and microwave. The bathroom shower was large and very nice! Fairly well clean except for some cobwebs in corners but for the price it’s a good place to stay and I would stay again.
- Andrew (10/5): - Reviews were right. It is 2-star but clean and well maintained. Check-in staff was excellent as we would arrive later than midnight, so arrangements were made. Check was easy. Happy to recommend.
- Susan (10/5): Quaint - It was clean, no frills, a great value.
- Jemille (10/5): - This was kind of a blast from the past!
I hadn't stayed in a motor court since I was 15, and I'm 69!
Sackets Harbor had a big battle re-enactment, so we were not able to find anything else, but it was better than we had expected.
The room was stuffy, so we opened the windows to allow some fresh air in.
- Marie (6/5): Great price and location - We have stayed here before. It’s a good value and is clean. We were upgraded to a larger room. Unfortunately it was too far from the main router so we did not have internet service. The toilet was also very unpredictable. It did not flush properly. Owner is very friendly and we understand they are trying to get better service. It should be mentioned that internet is not available in the 3 rooms across the road. Some people may be upset not having this service. Other then that it was good.
- Carrie (10/5): - We had our room upgraded, at no extra charge. We basically had an apartment to ourselves. It was adequately clean, and quiet. Staff was friendly.
- Isaac (8/5): - Quiet but dated- good place for just sleep
- Peggy (10/5): - Clean budget motel. Worth the price.
- Christopher (10/5): - You get what you pay for. Quiet place. Bathroom was nice
- Rhonda (10/5): - The room was spacious and clean. The towels were thick and of good quality. It was over-all a great little motel and I will be staying there again in the future.
- Paul (10/5): - This old-school motel is an amazing value. Pluses include being able to load directly from your car to your room and a huge fridge (as hotel/motel rooms go). Just don't expect modern styling (although the bathroom was remodeled), breakfast or even a coffeemaker in the room...but a Dunkin' is a 2-minute drive away. There's traffic noise early in th evening, but it subsides later...and turning on the fan in the climate unit drowns it out anyway.
- Frederick (10/5): - Can park by room
- Rich (10/5): Our stay - This was a very nice place to stay, my wife and I enjoyed everything about the place including the people working there
- Frederick (10/5): - Affordable clean roomy place
- Jenny (10/5): - Very friendly staff, very easy check in :)
- Edward J (10/5): - Had a very good check-in as usual. Our room was immaculate as they always are. Will continue to stay at this hotel as neccessary.
- Russel (10/5): - The staff were very accomidating. The facilities were very clean and convienently located. I would stay again.
- Gloria (8/5): - A step back in time....clean motel shower was great. Decent size fridge and microwave
- Kendall (8/5): - It was too easy to hear noises in adjacent rooms on both floors. The sound of vehicles passing by on the street was soothing though!
- Kirby (10/5): - See above = excellent in all respects.
- ron (10/5): - I appreciate the staff waiting for me to check in as I was running beyond their front desk hours
- Sylvain (10/5): Great deal - Can't beat the price. Basic but heat worked, shower was hot and it was clean.
- ron (8/5): - older but very clean. will be back.
- Pam (10/5): - It was perfectly located for our trip… staff was lovely!!
- David (10/5): - More space than I expected for the price. Seating area up front, bed space with worktable, and kitchen area with sink, microwave, and refrigerator. High speed wifi and cable TV. Conveniently located. Near I-81 exit, to places to eat, and gas station.
- David (10/5): - The space was bigger than I expected. Seating area in front, bedroom space, and kitchen area with sink, refrigerator, and microwave. Pleasant check-in experience.
- Connie (8/5): - This family-run motel is like taking a trip back in time, before cookie cutter motels with standard decor mandated by a corporate designer in some head office thousands of miles away. It was clean, comfortable and (in a good way) straight out of the 70's. (but with modern TV)
It is a great deal, I recommend that you take advantage of this wonderful time capsule.
- Cynthia C. (10/5): - Clean rooms. No stairs.
- Scott (10/5): - Excellent value!! Dated but very clean.
- Marilyn (8/5): - Very convenient location
- Renat (10/5): Good place to stay - A very good place to stay during the road trip. Rooms are good and big.. Staff is very friendly.
- Laura (10/5): - The room was a lot larger than we expected and the little kitchen area was great.
The room was quiet.
- Douglas (8/5): - Allen's was cozy and clean. There was a fridge in the room . The bed was good enough for me . There was adequate hot water ,towels, etc .The lady who runs the motel was quite pleasant...we had a nice chat . All around..a nice experience . I did not expect the Taj Mahal ,and it met my expectations .
- Dale (10/5): - For the price, you can't beat it.
- amy (8/5): - We would stay here again. It’s very convenient and inexpensive for our purpose of visiting family. Very clean. Staff is friendly. Our biggest issues were the highway noise (obviously nothing can be done about that) and the mattress was not very comfortable.
- Prakash Rao (4/5): - Bed/Mattress is not at all good.
- Brian (10/5): -
- Janamarie (10/5): - Perfect for what I needed. Clean and felt safe.
- edward (8/5): - The room was clean and comfortable. There was 2 work areas-desks-for any work. Microwave, sink, and mini-frig. The shower had a step up with a raised edge, so there was no water getting on the floor. The room was basic-it had what one needed for a good nights sleep. A restaurant was close by for meals, but you could do some quick in the room. No pans or dishes provided. The room met my needs. I was very pleased.
- Bradley (10/5): - Well-maintained unit, comfortable beds, friendly staff
- Steven (8/5): You get what you pay for - Ok place. Clean room. Friendly people. Bed was comfortable. Towels small and thin
- Allan (8/5): - Inexpensive, clean, convenient location.
- Jennifer (8/5): Like the nostalgia. - I just wanted to break up a 12 hour drive. I stayed to sleep. The hotel is great. It's a reminder of what motels were like in the 60s and 70s, not the generic chain-owned places that we normally see.
- Anthony (10/5): - Lovely family run business. A nice trip down memory lane in a 60's era motel.
- Intekhab (10/5): - It has almost all amenties required for a short stay. Worth for the price.
- Shauna (10/5): - This motel was perfect for an overnight stay. It’s clean and the owners are friendly. We parked right outside our room, the internet was good. The road noise decreased over night. We’d stay there again.
- Jeffery (10/5): Exactly as advertised - This is a comfortable, clean, friendly budget motel. It is clear the owners and staff care about the property. Very comfortable at an excellent price.
- Laura (8/5): Good - Beds need to be replaced and phone didn’t work. Otherwise good
- Gerard (10/5): - Great value!
- Thomas (10/5): - Excellent value for the price. Wonderful staff.
- Garry (8/5): - About as basic as one can get in a motel, but that's why I picked it. May not have had everything I wanted, but had everything I needed. For the price you just can't beat it!!!
- William (8/5): - Clean basic accommodations at a good price.
- Joseph (10/5): Awesome - I appreciated the upgrade to an apartment, due to "crazy business". It was a great room!!
I will definitely stay here again!!
- Cynthia C. (10/5): - Nice motel. Has a 1960's "motor lodge" kind of feel--and that is a GOOD thing!
- Cynthia C. (10/5): - This is an awesome little motel. Clean comfortable, lots of space in the rooms.
- Donna (8/5): - Good value, easy on the budget. Clean rooms with refrigerator and MW
- George Heller (8/5): - large room the furniture was old and broken
- Frederick (10/5): - Very clean and well kept place.
- George (10/5): - Very friendly service & helpful & knowledgeable with directions. Easy to get to where we needed to go, quick on & off Hyw 81.
- michele (8/5): - The people were very friendly and the place was very clean. Also the price was low.
- William (10/5): - This is Motel has the BEST RATES PERIOD!!! American owned and operated since 1970 by the same family. A one-of-a-kind classic budget motel that offers kitchenettes and apartments too! One of the most safe locations available in the area, and convenient to a a wide variety of attractions, including Cklayton, NY and the Thousand Islands ,, Fort Drum, Zoo's, Wineries, and so much more! We Love It, and so will you!!!
- Richard (10/5): - Great room for the money
- Stephen (10/5): - A perfect place for a stopover on my way home from a fishing trip in Canada. The room was clean and comfortable and the free internet let me begin to catch up on email that had accumulated during my week "off grid".
- Connie (8/5): Ok stay - Overall good stay. Bed was ok, couch was hard. Bathroom was nice with a beautiful walk in shower. The towels were very cheap and SMALL!
- JAMES (8/5): - property clean, convenient, people friendly, reasonably priced
- john (2/5): - The price is right but the bathtub is clogged when when took a shower. There were some dirt came floating from the drain.
We were supposed to have a coffee making machine but it was not there.
No toiletries at all.
No blankets, only a sheet and the bed cover.
- TeAnna (10/5): - Very nice room, friendly staff, clean
- Linda (6/5): I might stay there again - They make no bones about being a budget motel, & you get what you pay for, so overall, I was content. Positives: We had a 1-bed unit that felt quite spacious: rather than making the room smaller for just 1 bed, they replaced the second bed with a small sofa, just my size (I'm short & can't usually touch the ground when sitting all the way back on a sofa; on this one, I could). So that was nice, to be able to watch TV sitting up instead of reclining on the bed. It had a small microwave and a mini-fridge, both of which worked well. The bathroom was clean, although the tub drained really slowly. Overalll, a fairly comfortable room, including the mattress and the sofa. Negatives: When I checked in, the lady was very nice and accommodating, but when I tried to call the front desk later to ask for more pillows, nobody answered, even after way more than 10 rings. The A/C unit is pretty old & very loud. Also, the motel is RIGHT on the road, so traffic noise is loud. The saving grace is that there wasn't a lot of traffic after about 9pm, but it started picking up again pretty early in the morning, like maybe 5ish.
- Rebecca (8/5): Ok stay - Nice “Mom and Pop motel. Clean adequate site room. Great hot shower.
The bed was comfortable for me but some may think too soft. Like most older motels when air conditioner was on it was VERY loud and when it was off the room was stuffy and traffic could be heard. Bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Disappointed no coffee on premise and Dunkin’ Donuts was NOT open at 6am.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - the amenities were outstanding
- veronika (10/5): Affordable and clean place to rest your head - Super friendly woman in her 70s-80s checked us in and was very concerned that we knew where we were headed and she upgraded our room.
The toilet kept running and the back on one chair was broken, other than that we were very happy with the accommodations. Very quiet considering it was on a main road.
- Paul (8/5): - ok
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Price and service were fine. Bed was comfortable. Lots of TV channels Nice shower. Everything worked in the room.
A bit worn and outdated, no inner lock on the door and traffic noise was significant.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I could not find a chain hotel that had a room and needed as my daughter had a early flight out after vaca in the ADKs. With much reservation I had to book this . Yes the facility is old but obviously ran by people who have pride in their building . Was promptly greeted and checked in . As we opened the door ,as stated old interior. My daughter pulled the sheets back , checked for those “bugs” you don’t want to bring home . All clear ! Bathroom was very clean and so was the bigger than normal mini fridge/freezer and sink.I gratefully put items from cooler in and freezer packs to get ready for next day . The two beds separated by a wall . Went on got thai food for dinner and ate small table the 3 of us . After airport run returned and husband and I went back to sleep . Then up and out for our day at Boldt Castle . Would do again if needed .
- Jeff (6/5): - Would have been a great value except for 1) the pillows had a smell of bleach + mildew..and 2) there was no mirror in the bathroom (removed). Otherwise, very nice staff and exceptionally clean room.
