Guest Reviews
- Chris (10/5): - The Meaco Hotel is on the main street in Calbayog City called Magasaysay Blvd. Its a few steps from a shopping plaza called Super Metro which is definitely handy when you need supplies food clothes Ect. No breakfast though that is what Jollibee's is for lol. If you are around the hotel by 4:30-5pm you can have some excellent street food along the way. If you like basketball there is a huge court across the street. Timble drivers as far as the eye can see. 50 pesos can get you anywhere you need to go in the City walking around can be an asset at times & always be aware of your surroundings.
- David (8/5): - Good value for the money, everything worked as it should. Excellent staff.
- Domenico (6/5): - No water kettle I think for the money was reasonable for Philippines country side was okay
- Michael (8/5): - My wife says the hotel was nice and she enjoyed her stay
- Milo (6/5): Comfortable great for one night stay - The room was good. The air conditioner did not stay on all night. A little warm. Great customer service, friendly staff. Parking space is along the road and limited. Small room and small bathroom. Economical, what comes with the price is expected. Road noise.
- Rose Ann (10/5): - Great value for the price. Good AC π Hot showers π Bring your own toiletries. No division on toilet and shower so floor is wet, no bathroom mats. But we were able to manage though. 24hr security and staff were all very accomodating.
- Jason (6/5): - Thankful for a place to stay and shower with hot water. The bed was shot, loud street, could hear the lady next door all night enjoying herself....
- Lynne (6/5): - Limited parking area for the car.
- Edgar (8/5): - Overall, very good. Room was comfortable and clean, with a nice view. Bathroom plumbing was typical of mid-range hotel accommodations in the Philippines, which is to say that it falls short of US standards, but was acceptable for a short-term stay. Shopping and restaurants were within easy walking distance from hotel. Airport is about a 20 minute motor tricycle ride, depending on traffic.
- Anthony (10/5): - Convenience
- Michael (10/5): - It was great
- Michael (6/5): - For the price a nice hotel only problem the internet was terrible

- Charles (8/5): - It is ok for the value....
- Nathaniel (6/5): - Ok
- Verified traveler (6/5): Solid Basic Lodging - No frills, but safe and clean.
- Chelsey (10/5): Nice find - Very friendly staff, noise level was low and the shower had hot water. The trikes which provide transportation around the city stage right outside of the hotel.
- Chelsey (10/5): - Staff was very friendly and helpful. I liked the room, which was spacious with a very comfortable bed. The drapes were a little outdated, but that was purely cosmetic. Good water pressure and hot shower. Big item on my list. Air conditioning kept the room cool, although after my first day the unit failed. They immediately moved me to another room within 3 minutes. No messing around trying to repair while I waited. Trikes are readily available for transportation right in front of the hotel. A very good experience overall. Definitely recommended a stay.
- Michael (8/5): - Nice overall. Iβm used to USA . A more conventional shower that doesnβt spray water all over the floor would be nicer. Appreciate the security at front door , nice receptionists , and overall pretty nice
- Shannon (4/5): - Room not made up throughout stay, had to change rooms in the first few day due to faulty door lock, water leak through light fitting and down wall at room entrance,
- Shannon (6/5): - .
- John (10/5): - They were everything we expected. Gave us extra towels when requested.
- fe (4/5): - The whole building was stinky
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I reserved the deluxe room again this is third time in a month i was given a standard room. I feel im owed. A free stay
- Verified traveler (4/5): - They leave room doors open as i was coming in someone walking out of room..weird
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice all around. I sure enjoyed the internet service. Well played M.
- Gina (8/5): Nice place - Nice place
- 528Ericp (10/5): modern and affordable hotel - found this modern hotel by accident as we were looking for a lodging for the night. its modern and affordable. booked at a family room and its has all the amenities including a keycard for security purposes. the aircon was very cold and the bathroom very clean with hot and cold water. its also has an elevator, luckily for us as we are booked on the 3rd floor. great of all, time of your check in is also the time of your check out. we arrived around 7pm to check in. no free breakfast though but there are carenderias nearby where you can eat home cooked meals at affordable prices. there is also a big supermarket across and lots of eating places. novo mall is just beside the hotel. very accessible. our only gripe is the theres no bellboy to help with the baggages and they have no parking space. definitely would recommend this hotel for travellers looking for a place to stay in calbayog city
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Few feet away from Gaisano Super Metro and a little meters away (walking distance) from city centre. This is a nice hotel for a few days of stay. Would be nicer if they have their own restaurant.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Glen's review - Even though I was ill it was a good place to stay. Really liked the north wing.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not worth the money - I can only talk about room 407. In this room the CR is in very bad condition. The Aircon is extremely loud. The room was not cleaned automatically, you have to tell the reception that the room has to be cleaned. There is no closet in the room, also no table no chair.
- Brandon (4/5): - the Only good thing was the WiFi worked ok in the room. The room smelled of mold and bathroom had broken tile and when you walked on them dirty water would come up through the cracks. Front desk staff unfriendly. A lot of road noise and honking horns from the traffic outside. Room was cleaned once during the week. Give this place a pass and spend a few extra pesos and stay ciriaco.
- Loislim (6/5): Big rooms, good location - Calbayog has very limited places to stay, so after finding no room in the other 2 bigger hotels, we decided to stay in Meaco Hotel, right in the center of downtown.
Tricycles ply this main road so it's accessible and easy to go to the mall.
The rooms in Meaco are bigger than we were used to at the other hotels but the bathroom can get flooded so wear the slippers provided. However, be careful when you go out of the bathroom cause the bedroom floor seem to have some coating that becomes slippery when wet.
Since the hotel don't have a restaurant, in the morning we have to call front desk and order breakfast and they bring it up to your room. Breakfast was corned beef and sunny side-up egg and 3 in-1 coffee.
Overall, the hotel is clean and efficient. Yes I will recommend it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very convenient location but still not in center of city
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good stay , value for money. - I like the big room space. Bathroom was alright, except that I didn't like the wet floor, that I had to wear slippers while taking a shower, and the water wasn't draining properly, so hubby had to fix the drain by pumping with the rubber slippers. :( Then I went out of the bathroom, I almost slipped cause the floor had some waxy substance. Downey??
There's also only 1 outlet in the room, so we had to charge our celfones with our shoes on top of the trashcan and the celfone on top of the shoes so our charger cable would reach the outlet of the TV.
I wish you had a restaurant so we didn't have to go out to have our dinner, cause we were so tired from a long landtrip from Tacloban.
Breakfast ordered as room service was fine... the free water from the dispenser at the lobby was a nice touch.
- christophe (10/5): - i recomman,d this hotel , cheaper and very good and personnal happy
- gilbarco (6/5): Business visit ok - Ok. Peaceful easy to sleep. Plenty of restaurants nearby!
- Linda (8/5): Budget friendly in the heart of Calbayog - Meaco is a great budget choice. Rooms are spacious and have basic amenities. In the heart of Calbayog where there are lots of food choices and Super Metro grocery is right across the street.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great stay at this hotel! The staff was very accommodating. Very clean.
- Cil (8/5): Nice hotel in goid location. - 3 star hotel w/ a price of a 2 star hotel. Clean, nice room, bed, bathroom & w/ flat screen tv. Elevator too. Staff are friendly. Location near resto, mall, & van rides to anywhere in Samar.
- Brent (8/5): Meaco , Calbayog - Great experience booking into the Meaco !!! I travel constantly . It was clean trendy , exellent location and well priced . Will use again next time ... security friendly , great eating houses near by . Also a great little city with wide pollution free streets . The hotel Meaco was great example of mid range hotel in a great spot . Thanks . Brent filipinowondertravel

- AndreasM1532 (6/5): a cheap hotel in the center of Calbayog city - It is a cheap hotel in the center of Calbayog city, rooms are big but without many things inside like closet or hangers and bathroom is small..there's not a restaurant there but you can call for a breakfast and they'll take it in your room..very near has places to eat and a metromall and a little far is cathedral and cityhall.. we ask and they gave us a room at the back side where can have a nice view of sea and islands and is quiet because at the front there is a central road.. another important is that this hotel has a 24 hours system, so you can have the room at any time but you must leave at the same time at check-out day
- tony (2/5): - no fridge very loud inside bathroom floods large coackrochs in room
- Angie (8/5): Excellent staff, reasonable price & great location - Excellent staff, reasonable price & great location - accessible to all. The only problem was no closet/drawer in our room & food service takes awhile to deliver. Above all, it was a nice place to stay.
- Dennis (8/5): - It was a beautiful and brand new hotel. We had no complaints with the place. However, there is a possibility that they had bed bugs. I hope not because it was a very nice place. My wife had many bites on her legs and we don't know where else they came from.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A Good Mid class hotel - Good location.... at par service.
- Roger (8/5): Bubbly staff but no internet - The hotel had a good location and central
Staff were friendly if not bubbly! However the promised internet had NO signal so didn't exist
Various excuses were given but if you need internet just avoid. Otherwise an excellent stay. Oh and my Globe signal was also blocked
- tianneXtianne (8/5): Budget and close to the downtown area - Unlike other hotels which have check in and check-out times, their rates are for 12hours and 24hours (check their FB page). This is good since we arrived in Calbayog at 10pm.
Besides being located very near Metro, this hotel is located in the downtown area so everything is walking distance. We walked to and from the highway, to Jollibee and other food establishments, and we would have walked to Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral, if only we were not running late for the mass.
Hotel staff are very friendly and gave us tips on how to go about our activities. they also readily acceded to our requests.
We visited this hotel in time for their first anniversary and we received hotel freebies upon our check-out.
Would stay here again next time, but i hope other guests would strictly follow the hotel's no-smoking policy.
- Richard (4/5): No wifi and no windows! - Hotel stuffed up the booking but Hotels.com sorted it eventually. Room had no windows and no wifi so no communication with the outside world which in this day and age is just not good enough. A nice enough hotel in some ways but avoid it if you want more than four walls surrounding you. We have had much better for less or the same money.
- Harry (6/5): Our Calbayog visit - During our stay of 5 days, towels & linens were not changed. No bath mat. A/C not cooling room properly (to small?)
Amenities were standard for hotels.
Good location in city center.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - great stay for a great price. We toured around the city and there were nice places to eat within walking distance. And close to attractions.
