• George (8/5): Enjoy the Hudson Valley! - This is Bed & Breakfast with a capital B. The frittata and fruit salad the first morning and the Gruyère pie and apple compote the second morning left no doubt that Journey intends to be an Inn to be thoroughly enjoyed. Eric & Valerie have tremendous pride of ownership and want to ensure no opportunity to engage with their guests is left unfulfilled. Kudos & well done

The rooms were beautiful and spotless. Not all rooms have en-suite bathrooms, but if your room doesn’t have one, a private bathroom is reserved for your use only that is steps away. And the breakfasts were great!

The only real downside was the room’s bathroom was down the hall from our room. The website only listed that it was a private bath but didn’t mention it wasn’t attached to our room. They should probably edit the site to erase any confusion.
• Steven (8/5): - Convenient to resturants and other facilities . Owners are kind and accomodating. Breakfasts were delicious and varied. Our small room was off the reception/dining area therefore quite noisy and not private at times.

The room was comfortable and clean, and the area around the B&B is so scenic (it helps that there is a wrap around balcony for you to enjoy the view). The breakfasts were very delicious and Valerie was a gracious and welcoming host!

• qing (10/5): A hidden gem in Hudson Valley - We loved our stay. The area is beautiful. The house is super homey and comfy and charm, right across from the entrance to Vanderbilt Mansion historic site. Our host is wonderful and helpful, giving us great tips for restaurant. If we ever travel back to Hudson River Valley again, we will seek Journey Inn out and stay here again.

Breakfast was a nice treat & the owners are very well versed about the area. I'm thankful for their hospitality. I've found my new way to travel b/c of them, and their kindness.

• Debra (10/5): Nice Inn for visiting Local Landmarks. - The Inn was very pleasant, and close to all the Local Landmarks and Historic Sites in Hyde Park. Breakfast was served each morning and the Innkeeper prepared meals that were healthy and appealing. The Innkeepers made our stay comfortable. I especially liked sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful garden. The Inn is directly across from The Vanderbilt Mansion and a close drive to The Roosevelt Estate. Hyde Park and this area are definitely a must see for history enthusiasts and the Inn makes the stay all the more appealing.
• Mark (10/5): - We had a delightful stay at Journey Inn B&B. The staff was very helpful, and the breakfasts were wonderful. The staff even had ice on hand for those who wanted to relax with cocktails in the evening after dinner. Fortunately, the staff thought of details that boarders would need during their stay because they often were not around during the day and evening.

The only thing that wasn't ideal was the carpeting in our bedroom (REALLY needed cleaning or replacing). But we would definitely stay here again.

• Mrs. Nance (4/5): Perfect location for Vanderbilt, lots of caveats. - The yippie dog was noisy, obnoxious, and intrusive. The bed in the Roosevelt room was very comfortable. One of the owners was very intrusive and clueless of the fact; I wanted to quietly eat my very nice breakfast, enjoy my excellent coffee, read my book, and enjoy the gorgeous view of the woodlands and the Vanderbilt Mansion grounds across the street, and he kept wanting to chat and tell me about his life. I wasn't his friend, but a paying guest.
• John (10/5): - We had a wonderful time here. Valerie and Eric were great hosts and gave us excellent advice on where to hike and what to see near the FDR house and museum. We came here for a pilgrimage to the FDR museum, which we had visited 15 years ago and remembered that we did not have enough time to complete. It was very inspiring and the parallels between then and now are eerie. Valerie is a great cook and we enjoyed her breakfast. We also met people at the breakfast table with whom we had a lot in common. The accommodations were very comfortable and restful. I would definitely recommend the Journey Inn to anyone who is coming to the area.

She insured we had our food intolerances addressed and was invaluable in sharing her knowledge of the area and its attractions. We had a large bathroom (although it was across the hall from our room). We could share a small refrigerator with others. The other visitors were quiet and respectful. Most wore masks and socially distanced. Only one issue- walnuts falling on sidewalk and in parking area were slippery and we had to be super careful to avoid them, particularly at night.

Was able to take advantage of beautiful trails and gardens at Vanderbilt Mansion, Staatsburgh historic site, and Inisfree Garden, all in 1.5 days. Nice choice of restaurants nearby in Rhinebeck. B&B hosts were very helpful and accomodating, and served a delicious breakfast.

• Nadine Marie (8/5): - Very friendly inn-keepers who put us on a waitlist for a larger room with ensuite bath. We got the room! They also accommodated an earlier check-in for us. Breakfast was among the best we ever had at a B & B. Great location - between FDR museum and library and across the street from Vanderbilt Museum. We LOVED Buddy the dog! The two things I suggest for improvement are that some things could be upgraded (bathroom had rust or discoloration from probably hard water around the shower stall, linens) and there is a slight (very slight) mildewy smell. We arrived in torrential rains, due to a tropical storm - this may have added to that.
• Karen (10/5): Delicious breakfast in a convenient location - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Journey Inn B&B. The house is immediately across the road from the Vanderbilt Mansion and we strolled around the grounds, featuring amazing views of the Hudson, after breakfast. Very convenient for visiting the FDR Museum. The room was pleasant and the bathroom featured upscale toiletries. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, just like a 4-star restaurant! I'll remember it for a long time.

Great hosts who welcome you warmly, provide really good breakfasts, engage guests, and provide top notch recommendations for things to do nearby and places to eat. Directly across highway from the Vanderbilt mansion and estate that you can walk or bike to easily if you wish. Our one complaint: they have a great dog (friendly, cute, and easy going) that insists on licking your legs wether you want him to do so or not. I wish the hosts would restrain him better away from guests who don't wish to be licked.
