Guest Reviews
- Bruce (6/5): Aside from hot water it was ok. - Good location Hot water - took 10 minutes to get luke warm in bathroom. Quite a waste of water. Not enough for a shower at any stage.
- Mccabe (8/5): -
- Brent (4/5): - - Light outside bedroom was far too bright.
- Bathroom was very dirty.
- Uncomfortable beds

- Vicki (5/5): Uncomfortable two nigjts - Not much Bathroom didn't appear to have any light. Although there was a light fitting the only switch in the bathroom turned on the fan. Not possible to shower in the evening or early morning as there was insufficient light to see by. Blinds badly fitting and let in too much light making it hard to sleep. Also the chain to put blinds up and down very difficult to operate as it kept getting stuck. No staff on site so couldn't tell anyone. I felt there was nobody else staying there the two nights I was there. There were a couple of cars parked outside units further along. They were there when I arrived around 4pm on Friday and were still in the same position when I left at 7.30am on Sunday morning. Didn't see or hear anyone.
- Wendy (1/5): -
- Martin (4/5): Wasn't the best. - The TV worked well. Didn't like the bed the sheets were dirty. The people next door got home around 12 am and woke me yelling and banging for over an hour.
- Mark (8/5): One night stay been there plenty times before - No breakfast every thing Ok
- Masoud (5/5): -
- LintonG (3/5): Very basic room. - Good coded door entry not requiring planning to arrive during reception hours. Door was accessed without any problem Well Done. In need of a general freshen up.
- Peter (8/5): The place was ok for what i wanted - It's hard to get a motel on xmas night they were well organised
- Luke (10/5): -
- Stephen (1/5): - Unfortunately there was no hot water and they then denied it and refused any refund. Some hot water would have been good.
- Susan (6/5): - The heater the room in the shower was huge Small shower head
- Kyle (10/5): -
- garry (8/5): -
- Amy (8/5): -
- Rowena (2/5): - The location was convenient and the staff were helpful. The bed was terrible and felt like I was sleeping on the springs. The tv had no channels. There wasn't a sign out the front with Gazebo Motel written on it.
- Shaun (6/5): -
- Merewyn (8/5): Was good for the night - Looked nice inside and had all things needed in a room. Shower was not pleasant, old and appeared to be mouldy grouting. Set off the smoke alarm using toaster, at 7:30am!
- Roslin (8/5): Value for money, great for an overnight stop - Easy access to room, large room small kitchenette to cook a micro meal but have to do dishes in bathroom Had no face washer, would like curtain rather than blinds as the outside lights stay on all night
- Sonya (5/5): Great location to stay if visiting Cactus Country - Great location for visiting Cactus Country Shower needs a good scrub; the bathroom hand basin didn’t drain properly; the bed was on casters that couldn’t be lock so every time you sat on the bed it moved. Lots of space in the room for a table and chairs and/or coffee table but sadly without them there was nowhere to sit and eat a meal.
- Kathryn (6/5): - Location, was perfect.
Cleanliness wasn’t great, three large cobwebs, hair in the shower, dusty along window sills.
No kitchen sink, only a large bottle of body wash available, not little bottles. But came with basic appliances.
Very small room, had 3 people booked but other bed wasn’t set up. Would be great for an overnight stay or for a couple who fly in and fly out.
- Xuerong (10/5): Good for value - Great location for cactus country
- Anton (8/5): Very good -
- Breewel (7/5): Good -
- Jade (7/5): Good -
- Zandona (7/5): Good -
- Kathryn (1/5): Always check reviews!!! - The air-con worked great! We booked 2 nights for a getaway, not wanting much, but a comfy bed and clean shower, and places to eat within walking distance. The website photos looked okay, and with the price we were paying ($171/night), we didn't expect the Ritz! What we got was not that! The bed was rock hard, the 'linen' was scrappy, threadbare, and grotty, and there was only one thin pillow for each person, so we chose to go to Cobram to purchase extra pillows. The following morning, we found blood stains on one of their pillow cases. The bathroom was mouldy, disgusting, and foul-smelling, I wore thongs and had the quickest showers in history! The complimentary 'soaps' was a half use bottle of shower gel, and the handbasin soap was watered down. Honestly, I wish I had taken photos, but our mission was to get out as soon as possible! Needless to say, we did not stay the second night!
- Cat (3/5): Poor -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lynda (9/5): Comfortable, affordable and well-located motel. - I wasn’t expecting a lot because I had chosen the property for its low price since I was staying for a week, however, when I entered the room, I was pleasantly surprised. Although it is clearly not a new motel, someone had taken pains to make the room attractive. I particularly appreciated the original paintings on the walls. They added touches of colour and cheered the room. There was everything I needed to make my stay comfortable and pleasant. I’m always a little nervous about the remote entrance but the door code and instructions for operating it were clear and worked without a hitch. Otherwise I cannot think of anything I did not like.
- Dianne (4/5): Disappointing -
- Kirsty (5/5): Ok for the money - It was good value for money They didn't offer shampoo but had body wash which I found odd. I had to drive and get some in the town 15mins away
- Daniel (6/5): Pleasant -
- Regina (9/5): Superb -
- Michelle (7/5): was ok for the 2 nights we needed - was ok no pool
- Regina (9/5): Superb -
- Peta (6/5): Pleasant -
- Darren (8/5): all good - room was clean all good
- Graham (5/5): Clean, but lights could be easily fixed. - It was a means to an end. The bedside table lamp flickered when the cable was accidentally touched. The light above the bed was continuously strobing. The bed was very light and it moved when sitting down.
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Rina (1/5): The room smelled of sewage. - When we arrived, it was very hot, 40 degrees, we entered the room, the room smelled of sewage, the bed was not a double as in the pictures, but a triple that stretched out and was in spots. When the husband sat down on the bed, he literally walked to the window. The same day we went to another place. We complained about the smell, but they told us that they checked and didn't smell anything, which means that we are lying. I just don't know who wants to waste money and ruin their vacation for which they came for 4 days. In the end, we stayed only 2 days, because the other accommodation did not have more free days. We didn't oversleep, we stayed for 15 minutes. We asked for a refund, which we did not receive. We received an offer from a voucher for 2 nights, to use again sometime, which we do not want. This is room number 4.
- Paul (8/5): - The room was better than expected with some added improvements such as artwork on every wall, bedside tables that doubled as a comfortable chairs. Good water pressure and temperature in the shower, and the split system heating and cooling was a breeze. I am very impressed with the little things that just made my stay that little bit more enjoyable. I'll be returning for a future stay if required. Overall it was comfortable, affordable and a pleasant place to stay.
- Rebecca (4/5): - While the contactless check in was great, that’s the only positive thing I have to say. This place was very old, the bed slumped badly in the middle, there was a lot of noise from the highway and neighbouring units, and the linen was stained. The external lights were not blocked by the ill fitting blinds. I was desperate as I was attending a wedding, but I wouldn’t recommend even for a quick stop over.
- Sandra (5/5): Passable - Affordable, comfortable Encountered a couple of cockroaches in the room at night :(
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - Nice little room The prickles out the front
- Linda (8/5): Very good -
- Karl (5/5): Passable -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shawnte (5/5): Value for money. - Value for money. Close proximity to Cactus Country. Sofa bed was dirty, uncomfortable and had cockroaches in it.
- Wilson (7/5): Good -
- Tyler (8/5): Very good - Nice bathroom Bed moved too much
- Adam (9/5): Superb -
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lee (9/5): Gazebo Goodness - Lovely place. Great location.
- Madeleine (6/5): Pleasant - Great location and very clean We could hear people talking outside all night and our room only had 2 pillows between 2 of us
- Huu (8/5): it is good overall - close to Cactus Country N/A
- Jennifer (4/5): Uncomfortable stay and bit disappointing. - Location. Easy check in. Bed very uncomfortable. Couch was disguisting, eg stains. Towels were also stained and not white. Stains on walls... cleanliness overall was average.
Shower head leaked, not much room between toilet and wall.
Had to use bathroom sink to fill up kettle and wash dishes.
- Linda (7/5): Good - Convenient Clean
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Barbara (5/5): Not bad...except the lights outside - The outside lights were annoying at night....hard to sleep....lights seeping through the the blinds
- Annette (4/5): Lucky it was quick! - The location in relation to an event we were attending. * The outside lighting was not over the door where the code needed to be used to get in so it was difficult to see at night time
* The room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 1.30pm even though it was meant to be ready at 1.00pm - the cleaning wasn’t complete
* there was only one globe between two bedside lamps
* shower needs re-vamping - I wouldn’t have used it with all those little tiles - it just didn’t look very clean
* pillow slip was pilly - I put a t- shirt over the pillow to sleep in
* no face washer
* no individual complimentary shampoo/ conditioner etc - who uses shared products these days?
- Christine (5/5): It’s a place to stay out neccesity not for pleasure. It did the job. Was clean and had all the basic needs. - Remotely run. Check in was an easy process Very old, could use updating.
- Susan (8/5): - Very basic but clean and safe -
- Margaret (6/5): Pleasant - Close to where we wanted
- Frank (9/5): Superb -
- Natalie (2/5): Not what we expected - The bed was comfortable. The shower was hot. The photos are outdated. There was no childrens playground, no bbq facilities, there was only about 3 tv channels that actually had a picture, we had no tea towel to dry our dishes, there was no table & chairs to sit at to eat, there was no broom anything of the sort to sweep the floor, the bathroom got saturated when having a shower as the fan doesnt work that well & we didn't see the staff at all. For the price it is what it is. Good enough for a 1 night stop over but really not for any longer, especially as a family
- Christopher (8/5): Very good -
- Christine (7/5): This nice, quiet motel gave a tired traveler a comfy bed and a warm shower for a low price. - It was located where I needed to be, a small town in Northern Victoria. I didn't have to travel far from the function I was attending to have accommodation available. The keypad entry to the room gave me the freedom to arrive when it suited me and not have to worry about checking in at a specific time. Shower gel and liquid soap were provided. Do bring your own bath sponge ball loofah or face-washer. The water pressure in the shower was great! The reverse cycle air conditioner worked quietly and warmed the room well. This motel is an automatic check-in - no staff were visible. The plastic/vinyl wall tiles c1980.
- Bryan (5/5): Passable -
- Campbell (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (8/5): Very good - Close to where I worked The microfibres sheets
- Jo (6/5): Good value for budget accommodation - The road noise
- Sheila (4/5): Never go back to old memories! - No reception just a coded door lock, not very friendly to arrive to no one.Room was freezing cold,no electric blankets, uncomfortable bed, coffee splashes on the floor so obviously not mopped, taps in the shower are completely wrecked and overall it was a very different motel to when we stayed there for a week in 2015. What a letdown !
- Casey (4/5): Disappointing - The property does not have staff onsite and entry to each room is via a keypad lock permanently fixed to each door. The keys were stiff and difficult to fully depress for myself, my husband and our nearly adult teenage sons. The locks and doors were stiff and difficult to open. Had I been travelling alone I do not believe I would have been able to enter my room on my own.
- Chris (8/5): - Ok for an overnight stay
- Selena (8/5): Clean, budget stay - Clean. Easily accessible from main road Door very hard to open. Elderly person would have no hope of opening. Fan in bathroom is very loud. Whole bathroom ends up wet after showering with steam
- Rona (9/5): Superb - Absolutely just what I needed, somewhere to rest for the night, nice and cheap. Outdated but clean and safe xo
- Stephanie (9/5): Superb - No breakfast
- Elkins (8/5): Very good - Nice room for the price. Comfortable with kitchenette and lots of space. Just could do with a better clean. A little bit of unfinished DIY to the room, but it was still lovely. Could do with a better clean.
- Jesse (6/5): Cute and compact - I liked the look of it from externally, also liked the compact room. The location was good. The cleanliness was not good. Pillows were stained, couch was puttied, pillows were uncomfortable as hell. The bathroom didn’t have any shampoo, conditioner or body lotion.
There were no staff to greet you, just a number to call.
- Brad (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (8/5): Functional - Good heating and TV. Very functional. The bed was a little hard for our liking.
- Fred (4/5): Disappointed and would not recommend. I won’t be back here next year and will find something else. - The reverse cycle heater was quiet and worked. Wanted 2 separate beds and were delivered a queen and a fold out sofa. Not what was expected.
The sofa bed had a cover, which was covering stains and then the mattress protector also had stains. Who knows what you would sleep on. Yuk!
- Angharad (3/5): Good location for Ulupna island, however, didn't stay overnight - The room was spacious, the location was good for visiting Ulupna, key code to get in so no faffing about at reception We didn't actually stay due to cleanliness. The shower looked horrible, at first I thought it was just old tiles needing updating but on closer inspection it was dirty around the sides. The face/hand towel on the sink had yellow marks on, could have been clean but stained but still off putting, and there was a dirty foot print on the couch. My husband had a quick shower in his flip flops as he was desperate but I couldn't face it washing in there. Luckily we only live an hour away and wanted it as a pit stop at the end of a day out hiking and kayaking but we came home instead
However, I sent a message to the property to tell them the above and they did respond appropriately and said they'd wished I'd told them while we were there so they could rectify the situation and change our room. I did consider this at the time but honestly we were tired and fed up and it just felt easier to go home at that point.
- Connolly-jackson (7/5): Good -
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phil (8/5): clean and comfortable and a good price - clean and comfortable and a great price, suited what i had to do well. no tea bags
- Jayne (10/5): Solid overnight stay, no complaints - Comfortable bed, good AC/Heating
Clean
- Norm (8/5): Comfortable stay good spot in town … ease of position - Great spot Bit highway noise
- Paul (5/5): Passable -
- John (8/5): - Good for an overnight highway stopover.
- Kaylene (6/5): - The price was very reasonable however the bed was only just comfortable. the room was not serviced on my second day and I was told I had to request this hoewever there was nothing informing me of this. The benchtop needed a good scrub. No Wifi or not told of it and never laid eyes on anyone except other guests. Had to text the staff.
