• Russ (8/5): All very good with one small blemish. - Comfortable, convenient, laid back. Excellent staff - Friendly, helpful and efficient Loud tv from adjacent room till 2am. Hearing-impaired occupant couldn’t be roused.
• Wibke (8/5): Wer „typisch englisch“ erleben will, ist hier richtig! - Wer das englische Frühstück mag, bekommt hier ein sehr gutes! Die Cumberland-Sausages kommen aus einer kleinen lokalen Schlachterei. Es ist reichhaltig und es gibt soviel Tee und Kaffe wie man mag. Weiter werden Cerealien, Yoghurt und Säfte angeboten. Der Frühstücksraum ist ebenfalls sehr großzügig und liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Zimmer sind für den Preis völlig in Ordnung und da es eines der ältesten Häuser im Ort ist, bedürfen sie auch immer etwas Renovierung. Aber das störte unseren sehr guten Gesamteindruck nicht. Das Abendessen im dazugehörigen Pup sollte man auch mitnehmen. Es werden sehr gute, typisch englische Gerichte angeboten und eine große Auswahl an Bier und Cider macht den Abend perfekt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit!

• Jane (9/5): Lovely clean hotel with very friendly staff - How clean it was and really friendly the staff were. The mattress was too soft for us and the pillows were too flat but suppose that's difficult to please everyone.
• Lauren (7/5): Fine place to stop over for a night - Lovely location near the RSPB reserve and the coast. Nice building with a friendly atmosphere. Good food in the pub. Service was a little slow and felt you had to work hard to get people's attention, however when you did they were very polite and helpful. Room was fine, although the sliding door to enter the bathroom made it feel a bit cramped when in there.
• John (9/5): - All very good as always - this was our 3rd stay. Comfortable, very clean room - great shower. Breakfast very good as always and the location is a great base for seeing the surrounding countryside. The restaurant is closed on Sunday night which was a disappointment because the food is a real treat after a long walk round the coast. The recommended curry house was good but not as good as the hotel.

• Julie (9/5): Excellent Customer Service in a lovely location - It was in a lovely , quiet location with a view from my window. There was food available at night and a bar area if you want to be around people. The staff were very polite , friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again.
• Iain Stuart (9/5): Very welcoming and enjoyable - Outstanding food at dinner and breakfast. Very nice room. Ideal for the shore and for visiting Leighton Moss nature reserve. Not that many vegetarian options. A couple of extra vegetarian main meals would be good. The tourist guide in the room assumed we were in Lancaster and even suggested a daytrip to Silverdale. It also doesn't mention the train and bus services available at Silverdale. A bespoke set of information would be a huge improvement.

• carol (9/5): Lovely big room - Lovely big room overlooking the garden and the sea. Very comfy bed. Lovely food in the evening and at breakfast. Beautiful location. Helpful and very polite staff. We would stay again. Walls were a little thin, and we could hear our neighbour moving around and flushing the loo. We upgraded our room, which advertised chocolates in the room, but none were forthcoming.

Very good breakfasts and dinners, very good value for money. Menu perhaps a bit limited, but what we had was very good. Generally good atmosphere, and nice areas to drink and mingle. Large well-kept beer garden. Short walk down to seashore with lovely views. No real criticims.

The evening meal was also fresh, hot, and well thought through. They already know the issues. The slight irritation is that the reviews have been saying it for a while and they're not fixed. Odd.

• christine (8/5): Thoroughly enjoyed it . - I was made vert welcome, the breakfast was excellent and so was the evening meal. The staff were very friendly. The view over to Grange from my bedroom window was amazing. Unfortunately I have mobility issues so I found the stairs a problem also the corridors with little steps in them. Also I could not get into the bath to use the shower. I was told that I would have to use the stairs as there was no lift before I came.

• Janet (7/5): We have stayed here before and have always found the staff excellent and the facilities good. - The hotel is situated in a pleasant quiet village with excellent walking from the hotel. The breakfast was good, with a choice of cereals , fresh orange juice only and a proper toaster to make toast, not conveyor belt style. The hot breakfast was a little limited with either full English and veggie option. Otherwise it was poached or fried egg on toast or beans on toast which was a little limited but all good quality .
• John (10/5): This is our second visit and we will definitely come again. - The hotel is a really welcoming place - staff are helpful and friendly. I love the bar area with the shelves full of books and the comfy armchairs. Full English breakfast sets you up for the day, and the evening meals are really tasty - mince beef pie and the fish pie are favourites of ours. After a day out walking along the coast it was great to come back and relax in the room which was warm, comfortable, quiet and clean. Nothing I can think of

• Robert Pound (5/5): Food and staff good but room very disappointing - Food was very good and staff were very welcoming. The room (4) was in a poor state with a mouldy bath tiles and bathroom blind. The bed was not very comfortable and too small for two people with poor quality pillows. The sound insulation from the rooms above our room was also poor so we were woken up early hearing them moving around. The TV is positioned in a really bad place it would be much better if you had a stand where you could actually swivel it round to watch it whilst lying on the bed.

• Raymond (8/5): A good facilities,style and comfortable for 3 cyclists on a tour of Morecambe bay and the Fylde coas - The whole experience was positive, we were met with a smile and our bikes were put away safely. The room was clean and comfortable with plentiful tea and coffee making facilities. We had dinner at the hotel and the menu was wide ranging and the chosen meals were of a high quality. The included cooked breakfast was of excellent quality and there was a good choice of cereals and toast making facilities. All in all a really good experience. Nothing

She visits the RSPB reserve at Leighton Moss nearby and I go cycling into the southern Lakes or further south. Ideal areas for cycling. The accommodation was excellent as was the food. We liked everything.

• Adrian (7/5): Comfortable overnight stay in a beautiful area. - Comfortable bed with a partial view of the bay. Good breakfast and friendly staff. The room was large, an old fashioned bathroom but spacious. The hotel doesn't serve dinner on Sundays which required a walk out to the centre of the village to a very good Indian restaurant. It was a lovely evening - so worked out well.

• lorna (5/5): Has character & a good breakfast - Partner enjoyed cooked breakfast Old building bedrooms all up stairs of which there are many twists & turns, not good for anyone with mobility issues. We had a room with a sloping floor, made sleeping awkward, beds sitting at a tilt, had to put our heads at foot of bed. Had been a laundry delivery & it was laying piled in hallway!!! (Still there in morning) Road to hotel unclassified very stressful to drive in dark or unsure of area. Trees/bushes need a good prune, spoil views
