Folkert (8/5): Für einen Stop in Galle zu empfehlen - Sehr gut im Fort gelegen. Wir konnten von einem separaten Raum, wo man sich Tee zubereiten konnte, auf das Meer schauen . Herr Aziz war sehr hilfsbereit und hat für uns auch ein Taxi für die Weiterfahrt organisiert. Das Zimmer war etwas klein

We were travelling as a family snd they showed 1 room which was proper and second was a pigeon hole on second floor up a narrow metal staircase which you cannot climb with suitcases. No staff to carry suitcases. Shitty place.

Хозяева, видимо, везде очень доброжелательные! Постельное белье чистое. Вай фай работает Туалетная бумага есть 1 литр воды поставили Утром можно выпить чай или растворимый кофе - чайник в общей гостиной Душ весь в плесени!!! Балдахин лучше не раскрывать - пыльный весь! Саму комнату еле найдешь - там несколько хозяев и они все сдают комнаты похожие друг на друга. Территории у отеля естественно нет - выходишь и сразу проходная улица

Traditional old family home with lovely hosts who stay in same building. Common area with sea views, and some rooms with sea views. The upper floor access is through an iron spiral staircase. The access stairs are narrow and not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The rooms are on the small side. Some beds are creaky.

Patrick (3/5): Overpriced and dirty - The hotel room was more of a low shabby storage room under the roof. Access was only possible via a dilapidated, narrow, rusted staircase. The sea view was more of a look into shabby, littered backyards. The furniture was broken, the bed was uncomfortable and the thin mattress was worne out. The pillows were disgustingly dirty, the bathroom was also dirty and broken. The walls were thin and poorly soundproofed. The price of this run down accommodation is not justified in any way. Due to my complaint, they offered 10% discount to get me to cancel the booking, but it was just an attempt to prevent the negative review and save the commission on the booking platform to raise even more money. After checkout they try to manipulate the booking to prevent ratings.

Right smack bang in the Fort. PERFECT. We are going to miss this place and we dont want to leave. 😪 PERFECT. Cant wait to return to Galle next year to this Hotel.

A very pleasant room adjoining a shared (between 2 rooms) lounge with fridge and tea-making facilities, and also a small balcony overlooking the courtyard. Very good WiFi, and fan plus air conditioning. Great location, in the heart of the old town of Galle Fort, a few dozen metres away from the walls and the various restaurants and shops. Mattress a bit firm for us.

Vidula (8/5): Comfy place middle of the Galle Fort. - The location is very good and next to the galle fort main area. Rooms are fine and comfortable. And the host is very friendly and helpful. Not much information on room selection. We had to clime 2 stories for the room and I was not expecting that. The place mentioned about the parking but there is only 2 slots available and since we didn't ask for the parking when book the room, we had to park outside. But still it's safe as there were lot of vehicles like us.

Anthony (7/5): Alright for a one night stay - It's very close to all the sights, restaurants etc and the room is clean We booked a deluxe double room with extra bed and the bed is very close to the washroom (since the room is so small to have 2 beds), to use the washroom you have to knock on the person sleeping on the side of the bed. And It feels so unhygienic and uncomfortable sleeping very close to the washroom entrance .

It’s an historical older building so the room was on the smaller side & also the bathroom. Beds weren’t very comfortable and the mosquito net didn’t really fit the size of the bed. It’s okay for 1-2 nights!

Smith (10/5): Perfect - The villa was perfectly located to walk around and visit the historical sites within the fort. The building itself was beautiful and seemed to be steeped in it's own rich history. The rooms were clean and comfortable, each connecting to a shared kitchen/living room area. The owner was incredibly accommodating and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. If I'm ever in Galle again, I will certainly stay here. Not applicable

Bentleymad (8/5): Very good - The hotel was well located more or less in the centre of Galle Forte. The room was clean and we had all we needed. The owners were pleasant and carried our bags up to the room and gave us a bottle of water on our arrival. The pillows are lumpy and uncomfortable. The walls of our room were paper thin and you could hear the guests next door. Fortunately, after 11.00pm, during our three night stay, the other guests were quiet. Our room was at the top of the hotel in the attic which was reached by a steep spiral staircase which my wife found a little tricky to negotiate.
Ajda (10/5): Amazing spot in the heart of Galle - Amazing place right in the heart of Galle! The rooms are comfortable and cozy with everything you would need - towels, large water bottle, AC (that actually works!), hot water and private bathrooms. The family that runs the place is so sweet and hospitable. Hafeel drove me to the bus stop when I was leaving and made sure I was charged a local price for my ticket, and his wife told me exactly where I needed to go to buy a particular sambal I had been searching for. Very good people running a great place. Walls are a bit thin so you can hear people talking a little, but I really only experienced this during the day when I was in my room! Everyone is very quiet by dinner time and I didn't hear a thing while sleeping.

Hannah (10/5): Incredible, kind hosts, a genuine home from home experience in a 5 star location. - The location was outstanding; right on Lighthouse street in the old town, steps from the historic sites. We loved the fact that we were staying with a local Sri Lankan family who knew the city so well, so much better than staying in a big hotel. The family looked after us so well; they gave us an entire upper floor area and there was lots of space. Although the facilities were simple, they represented excellent value for money, and the hospitality was 5 star. The hosts even packed us a breakfast for our flight home without us asking; such kindness and care was really touching. Nothing!

Maanya (9/5): Superb - A great guesthouse in the centre of Galle Fort. Room was a good size for two travellers and everything was clean and comfortable. The owners were so welcoming and helpful, including dropping us to the bus stop very early in the morning. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Galle! Nothing.
Sigrid (5/5): Passable - While the people were nice enough and the facilities were clean, the room itself was dark, small and with old and outdated furniture. Same for the tiny bathroom which is maybe 2 square meters large (this includes the shower). The room has two little windows and when it rains you have to close the outer shutters otherwise (quite a bit of) rain seeps in through the very old window frames. It makes that during a rainy day, you find yourself sitting in a room deprived of any natural light. I was is Sri Lanka for 4 weeks and this was the most expensive room I stayed at and at the same time my least favorite one. I realize that this accommodation is withing Galle city walls and thus a bit more expensive due to location. But even with that taken into account, I do think price and quality are out of balance. Sorry!
