Guest Reviews
- Phil (9/5): - Charming place in the countryside..great walks and great wildlife..
Thank you.. Nothing
- Freddie (9/5): Perfect location and comforts provided for a short hiking stay. - Well located with friendly helpful staff. The bed was comfortable with a clean bathroom. Great shower pressure for a relax after a long days hiking. Nothing. It ticked all boxes. Great price, and more than value for money.
- Wendy (8/5): Great Staff, lovely local pub vibe, comfy cosy room - Breakfast isn't available, but we knew that when we booked, so no problem there. The staff were lovely. We ate at the pub both evenings we were there ... Yorkshire pub food, and it was lovely... complements to the chef. This is a lovely Yorkshire Dales Pub which is frequented by the local people, which gives it a very authentic vibe. We used to spend a lot of our weekend time in this area in our younger days so was lovely to reconnect and lovely to see the local people supporting their 'local' We really didn't have anything we didn't like but we did ask if coffee was available after our meal on the first night and we were told coffee wasn't available. However the sign outside does advertise coffee so maybe that need changing
- jo (9/5): Location fantastic, staff great, rooms comfy. - Location is fantastic to hike the dales..staff were fab had a great night partying with them and the locals we were made to feel very welcome. Room was comfy and had all we needed too Sadly the kitchen wasn’t open due to staff training so didn’t get to sample their food…and the hot water from sink tap needs to come with a warning.. it’s so hot no need to boil the kettle!! Otherwise great stay
- Ruth (9/5): - Breakfast not included
- Ruth (9/5): Convenient with friendly and helpful staff - Breakfast was not included. Nothing!
- Kev (8/5): Just needs a little tlc to make it a great place to stay - Friendly place good bar and excellent Sunday roast A little tired and cluttered around landings
- Scott (7/5): Good base to explore the region. - Great location just outside the Yorkshire Dales and Lake Districts to explore. Rooms are well presented and comfy. Would not have had anything to say here but unfortunately on my last night, the pub downstairs was playing music with heavy bass till 5am. Earplugs did not help.
- julian (8/5): Fab,fun great food - Lication great ,had a lovely meal, staff veey friendly . The bed wasnt the best.
- Julie (9/5): We would recommend to family and friends. - Great location for the waterfall trail, Settle and Kirby Lonsdale. Good choice of meals cooked to perfection, highly recommend the Steak & Ale pie and the Belly Pork, Scallops & dauphinois potatoes 😋 Lovely landlady who couldn’t do enough for us! Traffic noise from being on the main road but wasn’t a problem once the windows were closed.
- Gillian (10/5): -
- David (7/5): -
- Samantha (5/5): Lovely cheep and convenient place, but needs better attitude towards paying guests. - We didn’t have breakfast as we couldn’t be accommodated for dinner on the night of arrival.
Staff was friendly and place was located well for my activities. It was cheep. If paying guest got a table for dinner and not turned away for been too busy.
- Christopher (8/5): -
- chadwick (10/5): - Friendly staff and very helpful. Cosy little room. Everything was great and just what we needed for the night.
- shaun (10/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): What a place - What a fantastic place. I stayed here as my friend was getting married at Wennington Hall. I wasn't able to get an Uber to the venue as it was just after Christmas. The locals all rang around friends and family and got one of them to drive me. Incredible place and incredible locals.
- Peter (9/5): - Food fabulous and hospitality faultless, bed too soft but that's my preference. Road noisy but did quieten down later into the night. Overall a good place to stop and recharge.
- Kim (9/5): Awesome. We wish the owners all the best - Food, comfy room, free parking and friendly staff. Tea and coffee facilities Pillows a bit too thick
- Gordon (5/5): Pleasant staff, very small bedroom, generally disappointing. - No breakfast availabke Noise from the bar ( recorded music) stopped us sleeping and continued into the early hours of the morning.
- Darren (7/5): We had a great two night stay, everything we needed. Great staff, and food and drink in the pub was very nice. - The staff here were very friendly, and couldn’t do enough to accommodate our needs. The top of the stairs were very dodgy where they turn at the top.
- Andrew (5/5): - No breakfast was told it would be at 8 had to leave and get a sandwich from local shop nobody on time for breakfast
- Andrew (8/5): Room was adiquat for the purpose, but bar meals were a little on the small side for the price. - Location for work was ideal, with great hospitality. No TV. When traveling alone it gets lonely so a working TV is important as I can't spend the whole evening in the bar.
- Williams (9/5): Cosy lovely place great for a weekend away. - Lovely room, well furnished, staff were really friendly and amenable. Excellent evening meal, service and breakfast included. Would highly reccommend for a cosy night away. It was a little loud as it was above a pub but that was expected so not too much of an issue.
- Edward (10/5): - Perfect staff, really friendly and polite, these are new owners renovating, but met our requirements, the heating wasn't working in the room, but the landlady quickly fixed the issue, the food was amazing Nothing to not like
- VIVIEN (8/5): -
- KimandNeal (9/5): This was the perfect location for us to walk to the sights and waterfalls we had planned. - Had one of the comfiest beds we had slept in. Huge breakfast set us up for the day. All staff were very friendly and welcoming, even though it was the managers last weekend before moving onto pastures new, this didn't affect the exceptional service we received. Can't really find anything to fault.
- Rebecca (5/5): Probably wouldn’t stay again but would happily have a meal & drinks in the pub - The location was good, the pub itself was nice and friendly & the food was very good The room was very very small, bed felt like a small double , a little bit scruffy (table was scuffed) it was very cold on arrival. Breakfast not included in the price.
- frattaroli (9/5): Excellent - Very clean and extremely comfortable and warm. Perfect location and very welcoming and helpful staff
- ian (7/5): -
- Ruth (7/5): -
- Linda (8/5): - Nice little cosy bar, comfortable bed, great shower and staff were friendly. Accomodation overpriced for such a small room, only two coathangers for two people for a two night stay 🤔 luckily I take my own folding hangers. Drinks were a bit on the expensive side for a pub ie £28.50 for a bottle of shiraz. Food was just ok and also slightly overpriced.
- Nichola (9/5): Friendly, homely and comfortable - We were travelling with Bibbys on a coach trip and had to be there early so stayed here, it was right next door, very handy, we booked into eat, the lasagne was excellent and then found it was quiz night, what a cracking night we had, rooms are upstairs and the stairs leading up are old so if your unstable i would think twice before booking, the rooms are small but very comfy and have everything you need. The staff here were fantastic so helpful and friendly and Roger the quiz host was great, we would def stay again. Just to add you are on the main road so there is traffic noise, doesnt bother us and we didnt have breakfast so cant comment on that. The only thing we didnt like was a part glass/frosted door on the bathroom, the bathroom itself is, lets say compact, so abit of privacy is called for. Not sure if there are any twin rooms.
- Chantelle (8/5): Small but comfortable accommodation in the heart of the village. - Great location and friendly staff On the Sat we asked for a table to be reserved which they thought they could not do. Some one was supposed to let us know but they never did. Also that night they had a karaoke on, which would have been nice to have been told in advance. We may have changed the weekend away.
- Ash (7/5): Quaint, but expensive - The staff were really friendly and accommodating The price mainly. We were offered breakfast at 8am, which we accepted, but we're left waiting for it until 9 as the chef didn't know we were staying.
The chef was apologetic, and it was an accident, but we got a coffee each for the wait
- julie (5/5): Expensive for basic room and breakfast. - The location was handy for Ingleton. Room was clean. Small car park available. Room was small and in need of updating.
Breakfast very basic. At £120 for bed and breakfast, I didn't find it value for money in comparison to other places we have stayed!
- Nicola (8/5): -
- Anne (5/5): - Location
- Andy (6/5): Good bed for the night - Clean No dogs
- Simon (9/5): - Friendly staff, good food, nice room Traffic noise

Clean rooms and friendly staff. Nothing to dislike.
- Bellamy (7/5): -
- Mr Paul (6/5): Average accommodation - Accommodation was average but the cleanliness let it down. The bedding was clean and fresh but we had old tea spashes on the unit and also someone's old toilet usage was still stick to the pan. "Wasn't the nicest thing to have to clean when I've paid to stay at a hotel" overall would I stay again. Yes I probably would as it may have been a one off... Some of the furniture and decor had seen better days too
- Jill (6/5): Pleasant -
- Budjuggler (8/5): Very good - Food - Dave's pie
Cosy room Not much
- Edward (9/5): Superb - The restaurant was full on a Monday night, but the manager kindly fitted us in. Should you want to leave early, there is an amazing cafe 400m across the junction open from 7am. The bar closed at 9pm.
- Gary (8/5): Nice getaway - Friendly staff good location Noise from the road and bedrooms still hot even with the fan on all night
- Richard (8/5): Friendly staff eager to please helped our stay a pleasant one. - Near Ingleton with all facilities. Busy road and separate small car park.

Thank you all - just trying to think of an excuse to get back very soon. 😊
- Jordan (10/5): Absolutely beautiful pub & food! Brilliant sleep - Very good rooms above a brilliant pub! Food was excellent barring a hiccup with breakfast and not clear we had to pre order.( walked into the village for a cafe so no big deal) Pie was beaut! Guinness was very good too.

- Stephen (7/5): Good -
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Heather (7/5): Lovely pub and room just small - The location of the B&B is lovely, the views are fantastic at 0530am. I liked the homely touches to the room, for example, the cushions, and throws. The pillows were super bouncy and I love a firm pillow which made me sleep so much better! The room was very clean and smelled lovely. Food stopped serving at 8 pm, I had been travelling for 3/4 hours so I missed this which was upsetting as I was excited to try their menu. The car park is across from the venue which was a little confusing but I got there in the end. The pathways leading to the bedroom are very narrow and the room was small. The TV is positioned incorrectly, so if you were laid in bed you would have to watch at an angle.
- Keithb (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (8/5): Great place to overnight on our drive around the dales. Great food and derink, and comfortable room. - Location. A great stopover for our road trip around the Dales. Awkward stair access to rooms. (Probably can't be fixed. We were able to live with it for the few times we had to use the stairs.
- Anne (9/5): Cosy room in an ideal location to explore the Yorkshire Dales, good food and friendly staff. - Cosy room, lovely food and ideal location to explore the Yorkshire Dales. Friendly staff.
