Guest Reviews
- Silvia (7/5): Wir kommen nächstes Jahr gern wieder.
- Ioannis (10/5): - Όλα τέλεια
- Marc (5/5): -
- Gordon (8/5): - Near nothing around the area.
Very limited choice.
- Ostrowska (7/5): -
- Monica (2/5): Stay Here Because Everyone Else Was Booked - Maybe you're like me? Fly by the seat of your pants? Thats me and Greece... came here absolutely last minute. No reservations set for anywhere to stay. Thats my fault. And while a hostels are available nearby, I wanted privacy the first night.
The Lydia was alright. I'm grateful because they took me in my first night here. Here are the positives:
1. The front desk is open 24/7.
2. They do provide some room service.
3. Elevator.
4. It has AC but I have no idea if it works. I didnt use it.
Negatives:
1. I didnt know they offered room service until I was checking out...I saw the paper on the bedside when I collecting my things. No mention was made when I checked in.
2. Built-in wall chargers. The outlet stopped working. Idk why. It initially worked fine but then it stopped.
3. Flat screen TV was small. Like 14"-22".
4. The bed. *heavy sigh* ...soft... I cant tell if its old & sagging or if the proprietor bought it soft. No blankets. Fitted sheets on the bed & one extra sheet. This is why I didnt need the AC (lol).
5. The electrical system. If you're reading this, I dont know where your home country is...mine is the U.S.A. Never been out of the country. So imagine my surprise when I thought that management was being thoughful by placing a key holder by the door. Its not. That plastic card has to be inserted to get the lights on. LMAO lesson learned.
6. Where do I start with my favorite part of the room? Blue lights for the....tasteful and discerning client's 🙄😬
- Tim (6/5): - The room was fine, spacious and bed was comfortable. The only problem was that WiFi didn't work in my room and this was majorly inconvenient for me because I had to work and wanted to do so in the hotel rather than having to go out. I would have extended my stay if the WiFi was working. I please recommend to hotel staff to have WiFi working in all of your rooms because plenty of people are dependent on it and if you advertise with free WiFi, it should be available in the room.
- PANAGIOTIS (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff clean rooms nice view very close to the metro station
- Nina (8/5): - The property had great access to the metro which was very convenient for travelling into the main city centre. The room was clean, but very basic. The staff were very friendly and check-in / check-out was quick and easy. The electricity in the room was very peculiar because the plug sockets to charge your phones didn’t work if the lights were turned off so it was difficult to charge anything overnight whilst we slept - we had to wait until everything was fully charged before turning the lights off and going to sleep. Would recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere inexpensive to stay and not planning to linger in the local area. It’s only 2/3 stops on the metro to get into the city centre, so ideal if you wanted a cheap stay with easy access to the centre.
- Yunhua (1/5): very bad. - very bad hotel. No more booking. any thing.
- Thomas (6/5): Pleasant - Was convinient from city center
- Todd (8/5): - A last minute reservation and the staff was excellent and accommodating!
- A (2/5): - The location feels very unsafe especially when darker.
Hotel also felt extremely unsafe and bathrooms facilities felt unclean and limited. Lack of soap. Very noisy because it's right next to a very busy street. Cannot use outlets without the lights on so can't charge phones overnight.
There's no extra lock from the inside for security so anyone with key can easily get in.
Staff will make you pay cash because they don't want to pay credit card fees and force you to go to the ATM outside to get cash.
Wouldn't stay there if you aren't okay with slumming it. Way to pricey for what it is.
- Thanushka (10/5): Best Hotel is Athens - It is one of the best hotels in Athens. RRooms are so clean.Staff are so friendly.Food was so good. Such a nice hotel. Recommended .
- Marcia (10/5): Perfect, Enjoyable, Relaxing! Will book again. - I loved everything about this hotel as it is in a prime location for transport links & shopping. All areas are kept clean and neat in the room and around the hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. This is my 2nd visit to this hotel because it is so beautiful. N/A
- Anonymous (10/5): The room & facilities were all good & made my stay in Greece perfect! - Everything was Perfect, clean and airy. I liked everything about the location, very central.
- Rassam (5/5): Passable - Comfortable bathroom
Water, refrigerator
- Lidija (9/5): Superb -
- Kasaman (3/5): Poor - It’s very old hotel really disappointed
- Kent (6/5): Decent stay - Clean and close to the metro. Price is ok. Not all rooms are the same. My bed was 'meh' but they let me check in early which was nice after many hours of traveling
- Ianis (3/5): Poor -
- Marija (5/5): Passable - The room was well-organized. The receptionist was very kind and welcoming. The location is good, it’s very close to the train and metro station. The room had a strong cigar odor. It is not suitable for non-smokers.
- Elena (2/5): - I choose the hotel based on the reviews and now I am still wondering who could give 8/9 or 10 to this place! Disgusting from the area it is located to the every inch of the room. The cigarette smell was terrible to the point that I couldn’t sleep the whole night due to being nauseated from the smell. I’m not a difficult person and I try to accommodate anywhere but this hotel was the worse experience . Area??? Oh my God - we were “lucky” to be in Athens when was the strike and to walk around was the worse idea- everything stinks of urine , vomiting - being summer you can imagine yourself how hard was to walk around. Lots of homeless people in the area so walking during night didn’t feel safe. The room was outdated . Definitely not a choice to be made !
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Ciara (10/5): Good value for money - Room was clean and spacious, with daily housekeeping, however there was a smell of cigarette smoke in the room and throughout the hotel. The only other negative was that there were very few working power points and these were located in awkward spots in the room. Other than that staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Hotel is in a good location, within easy access to two of the metro lines.
- Marcy (8/5): - Staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
- Alyami (10/5): I recommend everyone to come here - Akis is the supervisor he is amazing guy’s I recommend everyone to talk to him. He will help you with everything you need. The place is great for what you pay. So be smart and logical
- Giorgio (1/5): Bad -
- Georgios (9/5): Superb -
- Sharyn (8/5): For a budget hotel for a night, all is good. - Pleasant hotel. For the price you pay it is decent. It was clean. Nothing. Everything was good. No issues with anything.
- Linda (3/5): Appalling place in bad location - Nothing. It's a "love hotel" with mirrors all over the walls and paintings of nearly nude women in the lobby and the room.
The window had a plastic film stuck on, so you couldn't see outside. The curtains were dirty, as was the bathroom, which had no shower screen or curtain - so the water wet everything.
There's no way to lock the room from the inside, which made me extremely uneasy. The only reason I didn't just leave is that I was unable to find anything else, and would lose my money.
The area is sketchy, to say the least.
I don't know how this place is even allowed to be on Booking.com.
- Khaled (8/5): - The hotel has an excellent location, close to the metro station. Most of the services are available next to it, such as cafes and markets. Reception and the way of dealing was excellent, but attention should be paid to cleanliness more than that.
- olga (2/5): my bag was lost - the stay was fine until the check out day, i checked out the room and left my luggage in the hotel to take them while going to the airport, when I came to take my luggage my bag was not there I asked them they said that someone took it with them i spent my last hours in the country searching for the girl that took my bag and after 3 to 4 hours they sent me the bag opened and missing the half of my stuff i couldn't stay more or less i will miss my flight so i went back home without my stuff. i travel minimum once a year and i have visited lot of hotels from stars 2 to 7. this is the first time i face such thing. For me it is ok to have mistakes but losing the bag was a very unprofessional issue from the management of the hotel and i am asking for compensation
- Anonymous (2/5): Very strange hotel - The way out Room was very weird, mirrors everywhere you look. Very dark rooms even with the lights on and the curtains open, probably to hide the stains on the bed. Stains in bathroom sink and shower which surely would be noticed if it was cleaned?
Wouldn’t complain if it was cheap, but it wasn’t.
- Panos (10/5): Great stay - The stay at Athens Lydia Hotel was pleasant and comfortable.Close to amenities.
Would definitely recommend
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - The location was close to the metro so it was easy for me to travel Athens, the rooms were clean the bed was comfy and the staff were very helpful and polite
- Βασιλική (10/5): Exceptional - The beds was so comfy the room so clean and cozy.. I really relaxed and enjoyed my stay. Also I had so nice view of acropolis from my balcony. The stuff so kind and helpful. For sure I’ll be back!
- Alexander (6/5): - Nah am Bahnhof mit Zügen nach Airport und Hafen, auch 2 Metrolinien in 5 Minuten erreichbar. Guter Preis für 2 Nächte. Sonst schlicht und triste Umgebung.
- Akito (10/5): excellent - wifi strong lovely all nothing
- Mark (8/5): - Clean, safe. Convenient for transport and some cafes. Easy distance to Omonia Square and the Acropolis. Very helpful reception staff.
- Jon (10/5): The staff are very kind. - This hotel is run by wonderfull people.
I was pick pocketed on the Metro on the way to the hotel from the airport.I arrived at the hotel very stressed and upset and had no way to pay for the room I reserved as all my credit cards were in my stolen wallet. The staff let me stay the night without paying untill the Western Union opened up in the morning. They were very very kind and supportive.I recommend this hotel to anyone comming to Athens.
- Brigid (4/5): Disappointing - Hmmm the exit Reception area dark creepy and not inviting, room dreadful not at all like photo on site, the icing on cake was dead cockroach in room but hey it was dead so plus mark
- Sharad (9/5): Superb -
- Maria (1/5): Poor experience - The condition of rooms was really bad. Old furniture abd used bathroom. There wasn't even a shower curtain!
- Henry J (8/5): - Good experience, kinda cigarette smokey
- Akito (10/5): perfect for a weekend stay I will be coming back next time I’m in Athens - great location very close to the metro. The beds were very comfortable and the facilities were great nothing everything was good
- Bobbie (10/5): Will definitely be coming back - Excellent from the time I arrived to the time I left!
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rhys (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): great stay at a great price, will come again - great location with easy access to all amenities nothing
- Mandana (10/5): - War eine nacht dort service super...
- Carlos (8/5): - the property is conviniently located close to the metro station, the staff was very friendly and helpful, i actually spoke to 3 different people at the front desk. Only a couple of things i didnt like, there didnt have non smoking rooms, apparently its not a big deal, and the shower was really tiny and since there is no door to the shower water comes out. the other was that the power outlets were very inconveniently located. i had to plug in my phone by the door and set it on top of the toilet to charge it.
- fabrice (8/5): - Bon acceuil,séjour et conseil à l'hotel
