- alex (6/5): - We arrived at the hotel and said we where booked in and he looked and said no your not and asked for the booking reference. He told us we had been moved to another hotel down the road due to building work. He gave us the details and we found the room. The new room was fine but basic, clean and comfy. No coat hangers or towels and no one around to ask as the hotel was unmanned. Also no WiFi (if there was there was no-one around to ask for code). The stay was fine for a night.
- Mr Nigel (4/5): - Bed was extremley low which proved very difficult to get on and off it, especially as we are elderley and i have Parkinsons. The TV was not set up to work, unable to watch it at all. The shower fan is very noisy and only one door on wardrobe. and although there was space to hang garments, there were no hangers to do so There is paint on the carpet & headboard, obviously didnt move or cover these whilst painting. The room could benefit from a thorough upgrade as it is certainly not worth the £77 we paid for the night. Very dissapointed. There was no one at reception when we left so was unable to speak with anyone
- Ed (2/5): The worst place I have ever stayed - This was the worst room I have ever stayed in!!! Not sure if it doubled as a probation hostel but there was an ominous atmosphere to the whole place! Holes looked liked they’d been punched into walls, paint work was dirty, one curtain over window that didn’t even fit properly and carpets felt and looked dirty!! Worst part was the state of the wall behind the pillows!! It was black with grime where there was no headboard!! See photo!! I wish I’d read reviews first. My wife was so upset and worried that we left within 10 minutes of arriving, having just travelled 5 hours in the car! Unless you’ve been to prison, this will be the worst place to spend a night!! Avoid at all cost!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Better to sleep in the car - If you like broken doors, stains on walls, stains on the bed, damaged bathroom plugs, paper thin walls, a questionable lock and a rude (possibly handicapped) receptionist who chooses to pretend the above doesnt exist, then this is the place for you
- Wendy (2/5): - It was very basic, unclean, scruffy and way too expensive. I WON'T BE STAYING THERE AGAIN. There were dirty carpets, holes in walls and doors that had been poorly filled. The shower was dirty and unusable. Not happy one bit. Very disappointed

- Sharon (6/5): - If you are looking for a budget friendly place to stay this is definitely a good option. the beds were very comfortable, bedding and towels exceptionally clean. The room had a TV, kettle & tea & coffee. It was a very basic room but it suited our needs fine. The guy we checked in with was super friendly and seemed a lovely guy. If you plan on using the room as simply a place to sleep while you enjoy the surroundings this is a great recommendation. But if you enjoy things a bit more up market with plenty of luxury and attention to detail then is definitely give this place a miss... overhaul I was reasonably happy with my stay and would stay here again in the future.

My problems were *paper thin walls i had no sleep i could hear everything *bathroom sink had no plug, shower was falling apart *They allocated my room to someone else on the second night when i was still in it

- Verified traveler (4/5): Hazard - I guess you get what you pay for but some simple cleaning and mopping wouldn't go amiss, drink stains on the wooden stairs, dirty handprints on every door, out room wasn't hoovered, worst of all we were in a family room on the 3rd floor and the patio door didn't shut properly meaning it also didn't lock which could have led to a child opening the door and being on the balcony on the 3rd floor with 2 chairs for them to climb on and fall over the edge, not to mention it made the room insecure from the adjoining rooms on the same balcony, so when I say you get what you pay for don't expect anything other than a comfyish bed and very hot hotel room

- Russell (2/5): - I didn't get the room that I had originally booked, I was supposed to get a room with a view of the sea. Instead I had a room at the back of the hotel, and the view was brick walls and buildings. Very trashy. There was only one curtain, the bedding was stained and smelled dirty. The shower was broken and I am not sure when the room last saw a hoover. The bed was covered in stains and was ripped, and there was only one small towel. The pictures that the website displays were clearly from a very long time ago, as the hotel does not even closely resemble what is shown in the pictures. It was very misleading. The dining area/function room is now used as a big storage room, and the bar is not in service. So pretty much everything that the website advertises is false. Also, even though there was a cheap fan in the room, it was still uncomfortably hot in there. I paid £119 for this room, and it definitely was not worth it.

Went to the toilet down in reception was covered in human waste and not clean at all. Our bed was meant to be a queen instead it was two single beds pushed together very uncomfortable had a bad back the following day. Window on balcony was smashed. Curtains had brown staines on them
- Leeann (4/5): Not what I expected at all!!!!! - We arrived early so couldn't check-in but left cases and came back to find no one about to check in and waited 15 mins before someone arrived. He gave me my key and that was it! I was eventually helped with my case (my hubby wasnt there at time) after I got to first flight of stairs and the lift didnt work. When I got to room it wasnt what i expected. Firstly when I booked I asked for sea view and this was a view of a wall! Secondly was told there was tea/coffee making facilities but there was a kettle, a few sachets of coffee and loads of sugar that was it.There was only one cup and two bath towels but no bath mat or hand towel. I went to plug in my charger behind bedside table and there was an empty burger box, a chicken nugget and a few chips!!!! My husband complained about all this and whilst waiting another couple were infront of him also complaining about having dirty sheets. They did eventually get us what we needed but no bath mat or hand towel just an extra bath towel. They said they didnt keep any in hotel. There also never seemed to be anyone on reception to help you. We will not be staying here again
- Richard (4/5): Sell to some one that will invest - Poor poor poor this hotel has so much potential of they just invested a little money the reviewers are bad all the way back in 2016 so they can't blame covid for the poor condition And just a heads up don't stay on the top floor there is no fire escape

- Lisa (2/5): Avoid at all costs!!! - Do not even bother with this place. Absoloutely horrendous. It’s more of a hostel than a hotel. Dirty and in a bad state. People fighting and arguing, banging on the doors to get in. No one on-site to deal with it. We left first thing in the morning. Rang hotels.com they said there’s nothing they can do. They gave me a number to ring for the hotel. The company were not in the slightest interested. They said they can’t help that people get drunk and fight! No I understand that but you can deal with it when it happens. But there was nobody around at all. I asked about a refund, they said “ I’m going to be honest with you, you won’t be getting a refund as you didn’t complain at the hotel!” How could we? There was nobody there. He then went on to say you should have rang the number on the piece of paper at the closed desk. There was no piece of paper there. I explained this, he then said well one of the drunk people must have moved it. REALLY??? The worst thing about it is that we had my 85 year old grandmother with us. She was petrified. Bless her. An absolute joke of a place. Hotels.com should not be advertising this kind of place on their site
- Kathleen (6/5): Facilities - Checked eventually after showing my confirmation email. No toilet roll in bathroom, there was a shower in the bath but no shower curtain. We had 2 3ft single beds pushed together and bottom sheet and duvet cover didn't fit the bed and duvet. I won't be staying again

- Damian (4/5): - Very poor experience, bed was made and a clean towel at start of week, room wasn’t hoovered, lift did not work so had to lump cases up and down two flights of stairs, shower screen came off runner when I tried to close it, bar area and restaurant area was a total mess,although these were not functioning.

The wallpaper was coming off the walls and the flooring didn’t cover the whole wall. The bed and floor and chairs had stains on. The walls around the hotel was broken and you could see the brick work from where the plaster had came off. The doors were hard to open as they weren’t on properly. Some of the doors were boarded up on one side as the glass was broken. The WiFi doesn’t reach all the rooms in the hotel. The pillows on the bed were uncomfortable. The lift doesn’t work.

- Angel (2/5): - I am absolutly discusted i booked a holiday for a few days to take my mum away that is suffering terminal lung cancer and copd i just wanted to take her way and have some peace be for she started her treatment. I booked a double room that was ment to have a balcony so my mum could get as much fresh air as she needed because of her lungs but the windows were broken and one of them was duck taped up because it wouldnt open or close. I orderd a queen size bed so we could share but the bed was 2 single beds pushed together and a sheet over them to make it a double but the mattresses were at diffrent levels and very uncomfortable that my mum had to go buy a mattress topper to place on top. There was an onsuit but There was no plug for the bath only the sink and the bath was not able to hold water to take a bath so had to body was for 4 days. There is no breakfast available and no bar as stated there was no wifi as stated. The lifts did not work and an older lady who had a knee replacement had to walk up 3 flights of stairs to her room😠 The staff were terrable and when i asked them about the room and said this is not what i paid for all they told me was we dont do queen beds or balconys but clearly there were balconys and queensize beds because other residents had told me and showed me their rooms. (I havent enough room to wright everythung but this hotel is beyond a joke

- Carl Walker (4/5): Not great at all - When I arrived there was a guy at reception then just grunted at me told me the boss was out and made me wait to check in, when I get to the room there is sand in the bed there are tea and coffee facilities but no milk. The room windows are rubbish so you can hear everything from outside and it’s on the front so people are walking past all night. The windows in the room were cracked too

- Michelle (4/5): Poor accommodation and bad curb appeal - The hotel is very warn, broken glass doors covered with wood sheet had a fusty smell throughout the building outside areas very mucky and littered with cigarette butts a good sweep of all outside areas would make it more appealing and some weeding would make it look better room was very poorly decorated peeling wallpaper cracked bath panel and broken light shades patio door did not shut properly staff member was friendly and helpful would not stay here again as not good value for money due to better hotels in area charging similar prices for better rooms!

- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent hotel, a couple flaws but would come again - My partner and I's experience at Chatsworth Hotel was pretty good overall. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. A little disappointed with service from the staff as reception always seemed empty when you needed them. Only bad thing about the room was that the curtains didn't block out any light. Usually wouldn't be a huge issue, but it did make it difficult to get to sleep with our window being on the lit high street. Bathroom was okay but didn't have a proper shower. No fault of the hotel's but walked by a room one morning to hear loud moaning haha. But no, would definitely stay here again.

- Richard (2/5): Worse hotel ever!!! - When arrived no one was there for about 20 minutes when the guy did arrive he was eating his food, not professional. When got keys to the room we was put in a small room with one small single window. There was broken draws, wall paper falling down little creatures in the bathroom hand prints on the mirror it was a disgrace..... The room was very hot I ask to use a fan the guy said OK il get one by the time I asked for the 3rd time he closed the office and went home... This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at I wouldn't stop here again
- Verified traveler (2/5): Would have rather slept on the streets - Wallpaper falling off the walls, cracks in the ceiling, no bar, no resturant, no hot water, useless staff, 4 parking spots for all the guests, cutrains didn't block any light, sheets were paper thin and you could hear every person on the same floor through the walls.

The room had a broken chest of drawers, mould on the window and broken window handle. Lights arcaect needs an updated. Bar and breakfast area out of service due to needed a revamp. Def not worth the money

- Verified traveler (6/5): Needs so much work. - The hotel was a last minute resort for us due to loosing another. This hotel could be good, if they put some money into making it nice! We stayed in a room with a balcony, but the door wouldn’t close or lock, resulting in us having to place the sofa in front of it to try and give us peace of mind, especially when leaving the room and sleeping! The room wasn’t clean either. The bed frame had a massive hole in the bottom. One of our pillows was yellow! There was dead bugs, and the toilet seat wasn’t even attached to the toilet.

- BARBARA (4/5): Hotel that needs sorting out - The too lads running this place was nice guys my room was ok the problem i had was the smell of the place was awfull the shower needs sorting the temperatures no clean towels dayley i bort me own toilet paper shud be supplied think i payed overthe odds for 3 nites 158 never anyone at reception my bed was awfull the mattress i cud feel the springs digging in my body also got a few bed bites so its not clean i had to buy air freshener cos of the smell of the room the to lads running the place are nice guys from Egypt they told me last year wen it was shut the windows got smashed and drugeys was living in there this place needs a good clean its dirty no cleaners either cud be a good hotel the owerns need to get it sorted
- Verified traveler (2/5): Outrageous hotel - The condition of the hotel was appalling very unhygienic very very dirty no cups were cleaned, carpets smelled of urine, bathroom was not moped or cleaned properly, bathroom door was broken with holes in it and didn’t lock neither did the windows, no breakfast, very hard for parking only couple of spaces, we had to ask for tea and coffee and the sugars were from McDonald’s not even from the hotel the whole hotel needs a serious deep clean there we’re other customers who had complained and had said the similar things we won’t be coming back here again due to uncleanliness please please do something about it we paid £200 for 3 rooms nobody is at the reception desk to help you have to call and wait for them to come to you

Dont expect 5 star luxury on a 2 star budget. Lovely view from our front room of golfing and sea on our private balcony.

It is on site however it is behind the hotel and not easily found. Our room looked over the crazy golf on the main road and the sea with its own balcony

- Verified traveler (2/5): Serious Room for Improvement - The condition of my room was DREADFUL. Loose power socket, hot tap not fastened properly to sink and water scaldingly hot, toilet seat chipped and stained, shower door had a piece of string to open it, carpet was stained, the room had a bad smell, the lights were piercingly bright. There was no bin and all of the furniture looked tatty and old. Admittedly, the price was very cheap and the room was available at very short notice but I would not stay there again and cannot recommend it.

You got out the bath by the time you had got to the bed my feet were covered in dirt. Had a 3 night stay and no cleaning in the room was done at any point before or during our stay. My partner had to kick off to get clean towels. The bed was falling to bits snd had sharp springs popping out the mattress that was covered with a blanket. The bedding was dirty. HORRENDOUS. Would NOT recommended to anyone
- Richard (2/5): Place is a joke - Dirty. Rude. Horrible rooms. They dont hoover they just move furniture. Tv but no aerial. But thats ok I can hear the other rooms. Booked 4 twins. Got 4 singles showed them and receptionist laughed. No chance of refund. If it hadnt if been raining I would have slept on the beach. Beds are like cots. Pillows? More comfort from a towel....but never had a towel. No hot water. Digusting horirble place. Avoid avoid avoid

From the rear view of the buildings one would have thought that it was almost derelict. Having said that the staff were polite and friendly and helpful.

- Neil (4/5): Disappointing - The room cost £81 and I expected a standard similar to Premier Inn . First the Good points the room was clean the new owners where very helpful. the bad the room was tired, A very small TV, Only coffee and sugar, two odd cups, no glasses, no towels in the bathroom, bar not open, no food at all, lift not working the mattress was pass its best, The owners are new and hopefully will sort out the problems Its the price of the room should have been more like £30 not £81. I was going to speak to them on departure but there was no one around and the phone is not answered at all.

But for the price it could have been cheaper as there was not. on site parking. No entertainment. - Em (2/5): Appalling. - Absolutely awful. Arrived to see no one for at least 20 minutes to give me the key to my room. The room it’s self is tiny, the bed was incredibly uncomfortable - so much so I debated sleeping on the floor. The next morning a random woman walked straight into my room whilst I was in bed, claiming she used to stay in this room and had left a ‘tongue cleaner’ in there, to which she then proceeded to invite herself to have a very good look around the room. This is UNACCEPTABLE.

- David (2/5): Avoid. - Upon arrival at the hotel, the sign outside displays “Chastworth Hotel” I feared the worst immediately of what was to come. Walking into reception, I was greeted by an army of flys enjoying the smell of a cold Indian curry - credit to the flys, they had more movement than the “staff” at the “Chatsworth” or “Chastworth” whatever it’s called. 1 - no heating 2 - no hot water 3 - no quilt for the bed 4 - blood stains on the bed sheet 5 - a blind that looks like it’s been punched more times than Ricky Hatton 6 - windows that were a struggle to open due to old rusty hinges, insulation was shocking too 7 - towels were dirty with light brown marks (which me & my daughter had to use as our quilts due to no quilt 8 - roof had a huge crack & water damage and looked inevitable in the next 1-2 months to collapse unless urgent work takes place 9 - wallpaper pealing off everywhere in the room 10 - stayed for 3 nights, not once did we have fresh towels or bed linen or room cleaned 11 - room was just plain dirty (despite the fact I should have been enjoying my holiday with my daughter - whilst she was playing with her toys, I went on a little cleaning spree for 10-15 minutes as the room was disgusting 12 - kettle is in serious need of de-scaling 13 - entrance brick steps to the hotel are loose, need cementing down - huge health & safety risk 14 - “staff” are way out of their depths 15 - Bar & Restaurant area in the hotel are abandoned PLEASE VIEW PICTURES I’VE UPLOADED !!!!!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The sign over the door sums the place up. It is mispelled. CHASTWORTH Hotel. The check in guy would not accept that I had paid on line. He also was in a rush to leave. No staff were on site for most of the time i was there. This hotel has a large bar and function area and a dining room. But theses were closed. Also the promised on site parking was non existent. The room was grubby, with damage to the doors, shower cubicle and towel rail. The steps up to the front door were crumbling and dangerous. One half of the hotel had no hot water and there were no staff around to report this to. All in all this is the worst place I have ever stayed at and in 25 years visiting Skegness it is the first place I would not ever go back to.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I am currently seeking a refund as I ended up checking out after a couple of hours checking in. The bathroom was filthy with mould and scum in the bottom of the shower which didn't work only spraying freezing water. Only one light in the ceiling worked, the hook on the bathroom door was broken as was the fixture of the mirror and the handle on the only window was broken. BUT to top it off the lock to the room broke when I tried to leave, came right off in my hand! Which meant not leaving anything in the room when I went out. The staff tried to find me another room but couldn't which meant a 4 hour journey home and leaving an event early that I had travelled to. Absolutely shocking.
