Guest Reviews
- Scott (10/5): - Lovely place, beautiful food and a really nice room and ambience. But what really made this place was the wonderful warm staff.
The lady on arrival was really welcoming, the girl looking after us for food was very attentive and the gentleman who welcomed us at breakfast was delightful.
Would highly recommend and will be back in future, thankyou so much!
- Toni (10/5): - We stayed with our young son for 3 nights in July 2024. The staff were absolutely lovely, so welcoming and helpful with everything we needed and great with interacting with our young son. The food - breakfast and dinner - is truly incredible with nothing too much trouble. The only downside we experienced really was that we were in a room on the top floor which, while the room had clearly been hoovered etc, it was dusty in places with lots of cobwebs - while we don't mind spiders, we removed about 8 to outside in the first 15 minutes of being in the room and the massive cobweb over the actual toilet bowl was quite disconcerting. However, once we had sorted this out, the room was very spacious and a great place for us to explore from.
- Richard (10/5): Short break - Excellent accommodation and friendly staff. Good food and highly recommend.
- anne (8/5): - The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Great atmosphere of a loved local pub. Really excellent range of food and all delicious.
- Donald (8/5): - A rural area and 12 minute drive to
town area. Nearly gourmet dining in
a pub. All helpful staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Ideal location for Scarborough and Whitby area. - Excellent place to stay to visit many different places. Excellent food, very pleasant room, and all staff very friendly and welcoming.
- Susan (10/5): - We reall
- Lisa (10/5): - We had a fabulous stay at The Coachman. The rooms are all really lovely and the food is gorgeous with a varied selection on the menu and the full English breakfast was so nice. Can’t praise the staff enough everyone was so lovely going above and beyond and nothing was too much trouble. It was in a lovely location not to far from many attractions. We highly recommend The coachman and will definitely stay again, for a longer time next visit.
- G W D (10/5): Excellent - Very friendly and efficient staff. Great food, well presented and served very quickly. Good choice of beers well kept
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not a good as I was hoping - I chose the inn due to high rating, that it offered one night stay and proximity to Dalby Forest. We had a nice room which had a king sized bed, clean and comfortable with a good sized bathroom with large separate shower and also that check out was 11.00 which suited me to get back to shower after a run. As we were quite late arriving we stayed to eat dinner. Not a great choice in veggie options and the chilli was just ok. My partners pie was ok too but presentation was sadly lacking. Nice amount of vegetables served though and dessert was very good in a sticky toffee pudding.
We hadn't expected breakfast but offered it though we said we wouldnt be back till 10.00. This was written in the booking book and we were told we could have a sandwich if not the breakfast.
As it was we were 6 minutes after 10 and nothing was left out for us and nothing offered as chefs had gone! Must have been out the door sharpish on 10.00! This was disappointing not least as breakfast to finish by 10.00 on a Saturday is unusual. 10.30 seems the norm.
Unfortunately it was disappointing though the girl who booked us in was lovely and helpful and the 2 girls in the restaurant too. I would not book this due to this not being a good option for convenience.
- PATRICK (8/5): Nice place to stay - Hotel was very nice.
The room was very spacious ,with tea and coffee facilities and a large comfortable bed.
Two small issues ,there was a smell in the bathroom (possibly drains).
When my wife ran a bath ,there were small clumps of hair floating in the water.
Staff were pleasant ,and parking facilities were good.
Premises were well situated and grunds were pleasant.
- Michael (8/5): - wifi could be better
- Raymond (8/5): Good stay at The Coachman Inn - Fantastic staff, who couldn’t have been any more helpful and obliging. This was our second base whilst touring The North Yorkshire Moors for a week a wonderful old building in a great location. Yes it’s a bit tired around the edges in places, but look how old it is and still full of character.
Great food morning and evening, we’re happy to recommend this place and wouldn’t hesitate to go again ourselves.
- Tina (4/5): - Stained blind over window, mastic around bath black, stained stool, curtain hanging from rail
- Sarah (10/5): - Lovely place, friendly helpful landlord and staff. We only stayed one night but would definitely return
- Elizabeth (6/5): Convenient situation - The room itself was old fashioned in its decor, quite small, window wouldn't open properly, we could continuously hear music from the bar downstairs. A plus was that there was a small fridge in the room.
We were able to have dinner at the inn so that was convenient, not much choice of vegetarian meals though, portions were ridiculously large, which was wasteful.
- josh (10/5): Lovely staff and room - Great room with plenty of room. Lovely staff and breakfast was spot on! Parking as available and is situated close to scarbough! Will be coming here again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Food was great, Welcome & service were great. Room perhaps a little tired but was very clean so no complaints.
- Peter (10/5): Great stay - Lovely two night break, clean spacious room, great breakfasts and good food in restaurant. Friendly service.
- Andrew (10/5): A lovely escape! - A very comfortable 3 night stay! After a warm and friendly welcome we were shown to a large and extremely comfortable room by mine host. Sadly, because of our commitments we were unable to dine there in the evenings but we did enjoy excellent beverages. Breakfasts were beautifully cooked and very tasty. An old and interesting building fronted by two magnificent Californian Redwoods. A great place to stay!
- Allan (10/5): - Comfortable and clean covid19 precautions excellent
