- Kim (1/5): - No cooling down stairs,no toater or cooking utensils.Fridge mouldy, spent one night of 8 paid for.Not happy. As above
- Rafaella (8/5): We enjoyed our stay here. It is safe but they are just dogs along the street so we really couldnt walk without getting n - I like the staff. They are all nice and reliable. And also the private pool. It is not same as the picture posted. The villa seems old. Also, the dogs in the street is kind of scary so we are mostly riding a motorcycle just to get to our location.
- ron (9/5): -
- Pasquinel (8/5): -
- Sharon (8/5): - Breakfast and quite location Water pressure was very low, my room had no water, but they were good enough to find me another room that was much better
- Cindy Marie (8/5): - Staff were awesome very friendly and helpful. Villa could have been a lot cleaner re cooking utensils. Limited crockery no microwave. Room for improvement
- Stefan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abbey (5/5): Passable -
- W.stock (1/5): Disgusting stay at Sanur - The only thing we liked was the location. We liked the layout and description of the villas on the website but unfortunately was the reality completely different Our stay here was very disappointing mainly the lack of cleanliness and that the place was very outdated. I am sure that back in the days it was a very progressive place, modern from an art point of view, different than most hotels, villas and the like but after years it is now very rundown and everything was filthy and grimy. And I mean everything from the bedsheets, furniture, walls and floor tiles (we were wearing the supplied hotel slippers at all times). The pool was filthy, lots of sand on the bottom and very dirty tiles and we did not use it for the reason of possibly getting some disease. Rusty kitchen door hinges, fridge and cooktop, ripped flyscreens etc, the list keeps on and on. The ceiling fan in the downstairs living area/kitchen only had a very low speed setting and air-conditioning was only in the 2 bedrooms all be it very noisy ones. The photos shown on the website must have been from the beginning or from a recently renovated unit, definitely not very current ones. I am amazed that Booking.com have this place on their program. We were lucky it was only for our last 2 days in Bali. We had a very early flight back home so I mentioned it at the girls at the reception desk. I was told that at 3.30am I had to return the keys to the night security guard but there was nobody available and I ended putting the keys back in the villa. They couldn't even get that right! But the staff was very kind and helpful as one can expect from everyone working in the hospitality in Bali
- Sudhans (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ron (8/5): Very good -
- Renee (7/5): Comfortable, quiet and secluded. - Very secure, security on site.
Pool was lovely and cold, staff really accomodating and friendly whenever you wanted to chat or ask about something. There was nothing wrong with the villas, I just think perhaps they might need an upgrade in terms of the facilities as things are beginning to get dated. Some of the things listed were more a play on words rather than reality. Eg- a mini bar means that there is a fridge. (Nothing inside it). Again I had a lovely stay, they are just little things to note.
- Ann (6/5): Pleasant - Friendly staff, free shuttle to and from icon centre and beach twice daily. Breakfast was reasonable but not much variety. Villas were old in need of renovating, and refurnishing. Bathroom was very old and basic and toilet needed replacement. A/C only in bedroom with a fan in living room and uncomfortably hot. Sofa so uncomfortable we had to put pillows on it to sit and watch TV. Pool pump wasn't working the entire stay.
- Wayan (4/5): Disappointing - the breakfast is not worth it with the room price of idr 3,000,000/2night
And no welcome drink
- Caroline (2/5): I would not recommend - Nice location but clearly not as shown in the pictures, it could really use maintenance. Not clean enough. The floor made our feet black, I had to buy my own mop.
Sofa was stained. Toilet seat was moldy to I had to have them change it.
- Shayna (1/5): Bad - The property wasn’t clean, it didn’t look like its photos, there were bugs in the bathroom. The door to the pool was incredibly difficult to open and the window in the bathroom was very hard to close. We left early and would not return
- Shailesh (2/5): - Not recommended
- Valerie (1/5): A disaster of a place - Never send anyone there it is still being restored & incomplete. The literature is false & misleading. Left after 1 night. The living room had huge window,no covering so 40deg heat and 1 fan. The kitchen. Filthy sink, filthy ancient gas ring totally unusable, Only 4 knives as kitchen equipment. The concrete pool, not tiled, had just been finished so we were told not to use it til the next day but didn't as the water still looked murky. Will be putting a complaint in to Booking.com
- Juliana KNOLL (4/5): - Unfortunately, the place need a lot of renovations. Our Villa wasn't exceptional. The kitchen couldn't be use. Was dangerous, we had a lot of problems. That I would not say here...
- Matthew (1/5): Horrible - Nothing paid for 3 nights only stayed one Snake in the garden centrepeds infestation in garden also no a/c in living room no kitchen utensils at all no hot water ants in the bed
- Dean (3/5): Poor -
- Ron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clancy (4/5): Gardens lovely the rest was Blugh - The bed was comfy No air con downstairs which makes relaxing on stupid plastic couch impossible
Property extremely dated - evidenced by the rust and peeling contact on walls.
Cobwebs
Bathroom stank of a sewer which indicates drainage and other issues.
No room service
One lady in admin was rude.
Breakfast was ok and staff in breakfast area were nice
Pool had no hand rails to get in and out so couldn't use
We ended up leaving early - should have got a partial refund.
Owners need to spend money on upgrading and training some staff.
- Clancy (3/5): We left early - The bed was comfy and the gardens beautiful Incredibly dated. The toilet was upstairs and the bathroom just stank of sewage. All the time. No aircon downstairs and the furniture was broken or not comfy. The whole interior of the place needed some work.
- Stanley (7/5): Good -
- Sultan (1/5): The price was very expensive for such a place.. - Place was a mess, lizards were everywhere, bigs, lights not working, wifi not working and I had to change the room.
- Dean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ron (9/5): Superb -
- Rahul (9/5): Superb - The breakfast was normal Quantity was very limited and I hope it should be a buffet for that price and also veg items are not available.
- Joy (10/5): Gorgeous villa, gorgeous staff and gorgeous breakfast! - Beautiful and quiet The toilet leaked
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Great clean villas with helpful staff, highly recommended
- Shannon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (6/5): Nice place with lovely staff. - Nice quiet area (off the beaten track). Staff were so friendly and helpful. Beds very comfy! Pancake stacks was delicious and the Nasi Goreng very good too. In need of a bit of maintenance. The pool area didn’t get sun until 12oclock and there were no sun loungers. No air conditioning in living area, only bedrooms but could leave doors open and get air circulating.
- Shaunee-elle (5/5): Private pool was the best. Needs upgrading for how much you spend on a Villa - Food was great. Breakfast was yummy. The staff were good and friendly especially the boys very polite. Upstairs bathroom was disgusting had pee from unknown person. Even if it was from the previous guest or staff it was soiled & stained on the toilet.
Drains in the shower blocked ended up flooding my bathroom every time I showered.
- Terry (8/5): Overall a very enjoyable experience - Very friendly hosts pool was very clean as was the room breakfast was delious (included in our stay) value for money staff where very helpful overall an enjoyable stay The location was a bit far from all the beaches & restraunts we could'nt walk anywhere very narrow streets
- Mithun (9/5): Superb -
- Natalia (3/5): very bad for expensive price. I didn't take pictures of this bad place - nothing the stove didn’t work, mosquitoes bit a lot of the baby, the kettle had to be warmed up on the floor
- Russell (10/5): - Very quiet and well worth the price..only negative was pool too dirty to swim in
- Ahmed (10/5): Epic place to stay in Bali - One of the best place i have stayed in Bali.
Lovely and supportive staff.
Everything was organized well, from the transportation to meals in villa and so on.
Amazing private pool.
Great location and also have security at the gate.
Multiple meals available. This is not what we didn’t like, this is list that if it is available it will make the villa even more epic
1-Lack of microwave
2-Needs regular pest control
3-Lack of cloth washing machine
4-More trash bins in villa
- Kirstine (8/5): Just about perfect - Bad smell in the bathroom
- Benjamin (6/5): In summary, we would t stay here again. The Villa was nice except for the flooding whenever it rained, and we weren’t al - The location is quiet, the Villa is a good size particularly the bathroom. Unfortunately the room flooded whenever it rained (and it rained every day) making it dangerous to walk on the slippery tiles; the staff knew it flooded but we were given the room anyway.
- George (7/5): You get what you pay for - Bed was very comfortable, staff were very helpful, breakfast was delicious with good portions, location was okay for is close to airport but also the beach, plenty of parking space, neighbourhood was quiet at night, kitchen was well equipped. Fridge was stocked and worked well Bathroom needs abit of renovation, limited hot water. No hot water in the sink. Shower head worked okay but the water fall shower was broken. Aircon struggled and whilst the room was cooler than outside it could be cooler. General cleanliness was below par, it wasn't unsanitary but there was things like stains on chairs and bed throws, paint was peeling in various places and there is mould in the bathroom. Pictures implied a very different experience.
- Mark (4/5): Disappointing - The spacious rooms ,and pool were good Very dated needed TLC,for the money not a good deal
- Shannicka (7/5): Comfortable stay - A quiet stay like in a little townhouse. The bed was very comfortable and the greeneries outside makes the hotel very cozy. The manager was friendly and nice. We were on a family holiday and booked 5 of the studio rooms. The room was cozy and big enough, we love the ensuite fully equipped kitchen. The laundry service was good and affordable. 1. The facilities need some update. Such as the light on the patio facing the pool, it always turn on and off disturbing our sleep.
2. The room was waaay too bright in the day time. There was only a set of curtain for the window. But next to it was glass door literally next to our bed, and on the right side of the bed was the glass kitchen window. So it’s impossible to sleep long, because once the sun shines, it will penetrate the room. Please consider putting curtains on the glass door!
3. We arrived early at 8am due to our flight. We were told we had to pay 100,000 rupiah for early check-in! Which is crazy. Never in my years of traveling experience i came across this regulation. But later we were informed the manager allowed us to check in early without paying.
4. One of the female receptions at stand-by was very unfriendly. We came at 8am fresh from the airport without any smile or greeting at all and very cold attitude. We had such terrible welcome experience and it only got better once the manager arrived.
5. The water in the bathroom (shower, tap, toilet flush) keeps turning off after being used for a certain period of time, which is annoying because it stopped in the middle of a shower.
6. The housekeeping was very loud when cleaning out a room next to ours. They talked and laughed so loud and made loud cleaning noises, while we were still trying to sleep next door. This was even before 9am. They should be more considerate towards the guests.
- Shannicka (7/5): Good -
- Natasha (6/5): Pleasant - The villa was spacious. Breakfast was fresh and very good. The door to my outside area did not lock and as a solo traveller I didn’t feel safe. The sofa was very hard and uncomfortable.
- David (3/5): it sucked.. save your money and book a different villa. - I didn’t really like the property it was very dated and filthy. cigarette burns on furniture. “furniture” was painted boards slapped together. pool was always freezing because it never received sunlight due to walls around it
- Ryan (2/5): Worst stay of our trip. - The bed was comfortable. This place is absolutely NOTHING like the photos. We expected a villa when we booked but we got put in a horrible studio apartment.
Damp marks everywhere, very poor furniture and shelves coming off the wall. The water smells like eggs and there were rats running around in the space between our ceiling and the roof. The AC doesn’t work very well and has actually given my wife and I a cough and cold! Apparently it’s an illness due to the filter in AC not being cleaned.
When we addressed our concerns with one of the staff, we were asked to wait to speak with the manager, and she never came back.
The next day I asked to look at the villa upgrade and wow! They were almost as bad but with a pool which looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months!
After all of this and the staff being made aware, our only compensation was a free mini bar bill - 2 bottles of water and a coke.
A horrible stay and a consistent them of being duped. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.
- Jacqui (10/5): - Beautiful surroundings with semi private pool. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Sanur Art Villa
- Verified traveler (6/5): - very good deal for villa with private pool although location not too ideal but not a big problem. DO NOT engage tour service of the staff(s) there as they are very unprofessional, better to plan yourself or engage others.
- Danang (10/5): Comfort, clean and friendly staff - comfort place for family vacation; helpfull staff and fast check in and check out
- Verified traveler (6/5): disappointing - Arrived at the hotel to find yellow stains all over our sheets, dirty floors and smelly bathrooms. They had security check us in when we arrived because it was past 10pm, which was a very long process as he was clearly not trained in reception. Asked the hotel staff 3 times for them to improve the cleanliness of our room, and we were simply moved to another dirty room. Pool was dirty too! The room had mesh walls in the living room so the heat would come in and it was unpleasantly hot. Free breakfast was very small and not tasty at all. Was not impressed after paying such high rates for this villa. Would not stay here again, was too far out to walk into town, was about a half an hour walk in.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Enjoyed our stay - Nice rooms, clean, lovely pool. Staff friendly. Breakfast a little average and the villas are a little out of the way, but we had scooters, so not really a problem. Would go back.
- Helene (6/5): Disappointment - The villa outlook looks very serene however the interior of the villa was not very well maintained. We booked 3 villas for 3 nights. All 3 villas' maintenance and cleanliness was not what we expected. The floor, utensil, cutlery, kettle were all dusty. The bathroom was not well maintained, showerhead was rusty, toilet bowl kept choking. Housekeeping was not done properly as well. The new towels changed were all stained, floor mats were not changed, they were just being turned into the other side for use. Breakfast was not as great as well. For that price, I would say there are better options around the area.
- sandra (8/5): Gave it another visit - We opted to stay here again as the staff were fantastic. Its a little out of the way of things but if you have a good driver or dont mind using their curtesy bus then its good for the peace and quiet. The food was amazing but a few more vareties for breakfast might be good.
- Andrew (8/5): - Villas have a lot of space, can't complain having your own private pool!! Conditions of the hotel are above indonisian standards, good cable signal lots of movies. A little far from the beach, take an excursion to visit with private driver, lots to see and do.
- Paul (10/5): Modern comfort in a quiet setting - I stayed at the Sanur Art Villas for three nights during a recent trip to Bali. While Sanur is a relatively busy area, the hotel is located on a tiny, quiet lane off a residential street. It's a quick walk to restaurants and shops in the touristy area along Jalan Danau Poso and not much further to Pantai Mentasari (beach). It is also a short walk to more 'local' warungs, groceries and fruit stalls along Jalan Kutat Lestari.
My room was on the ground floor and it was very spacious, modern and attractive. Fantastic mattress! I slept so well on that. There was a little kitchenette for preparing simple meals, along with a small fridge and an electric kettle. Complimentary bottled water is provided but please consider not using it as plastic waste is a very serious global issue! The room also came with a small safe for holding passports and other small valuables. The bathroom was clean and airy, with good water pressure in the shower. The bathroom sink was a bit awkward as it was tiny and blocked by the shelf built over it.
My only complaint was the non-existent WiFi. It would come on for a few minutes every so often. The staff told me that they were having problems with their internet service so hopefully that was just a temporary glitch. Overall, I found all the staff very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again in the future. The combination of comfort, attractiveness, convenient location and great staff make Sanur Art Villas an excellent choice.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Comfortable but inconvenient - It is a really comfortable, neat little place to stay. Very unique. The accommodations were nice, but unless you have a car, it's located in a hard neighborhood to locate. We relied on taxis and hired cars in Sanur, and they always had a hard time finding the Art Villas. We stayed in a villa with our family of four. We were a little nervous about our youngest child on the stairs. The banister posts were spaced a little too far apart, but thankfully the kids are old enough to have a good sense of safety. One final small annoyance was about the kitchen. There was no dish soap to wash dishes and considering that, it didn't really look like the glasses in the bathrooms had been washed well.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Value for money - Initially, the bedroom toilet on Level 1 smelled bad, so that I was switched to the one in Level 2 instead. After that, the rest of the stay was fine. It is a bit out of the way, but I rented a scooter from the hotel so getting around was fine, as long as you are adventurous. Remember to bring your international driving license as the traffic police are quite strict with that.
- miki (8/5): Nice hotel, not far from airport - Beautiful room, more of a small village atmosphere. Only complaint is bathroom sink not far away enough from wall ( brushing teeth, washing face a challenge) and shower gets water all over floor.
Staff is wonderful, delicious breakfast. Thank you!
- newlyweds (6/5): Nice villa friendly ,helpful staff - Had an issue with our room when we first arrived and it was sorted right away was a little disappointed that there was nothing special done or in the room for our honeymoon. breakfast was yummy staff were very friendly location was great! need to get better wifi (we had children at home and it was hard to speak with them) wifi avail but only upstairs. room was comfortable loved the beds! And the pool was great to have was completely private and well worth having with the humid afternoons .
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel - did the job - Hi - the hotel was nice. The bathroom like many in SE Asia could do with some cleaning however maybe it's just hard water quality. As english is a second language your requests need to be kept to small words to be understood properly. All good for an overnight stay. It is a taxi ride from Sindu Beach where there is a good choose of restaurants.
- Oliver (10/5): Great studio in quiet area - A great 5 night stay at Sanur Art Hotel. Studio room was large and well equipped. Very comfortable bed, powerful hot shower. Friendly staff spoke excellent English. The only negatives were that the pool is tiny, the breakfast is only available after 8am (so not great for early starts), and It's a little far from town but is walkable in 15 minutes. Very quiet area. I would stay here again.
- nikolay (6/5): Not bad, but need better maintenance. - The rooms and villas need to be cleaned more properly. Overal not bad, however already some molds on the walls , its only 6 month old. Were i were the owner i would focus on basic cleannes and proper construction rather then interior . Spacious, functional, but not clean:( also have some feeling that place used for a one night stand or hour basis, that of course could be wrong conclusion.
- Diane (10/5): - The staff went well out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
Nothing was too much trouble.
The studio and townhouse were just as the photos....... The bed was exceptionally comfy. And all in a very peaceful setting. Would definitely stay again
