Guest Reviews
- Paul (8/5): - Comfortable.
Had some issues which were resolved quickly
Good breakfast
- Damon (8/5): - Friendly staff, unfortunately a small bed (we are 5.9/5.4ft) and neaely fell out turning over several times. Weird clicking noises (relay or a switch) in the wall in early hours was a little annoying.Great food for breakfast and dinner. A beautiful place
- Douglas (10/5): Good food & accommodation. - The Food was amazing & the bed was sooooo comfortable.
- James (10/5): - The bar and food were excellent
- David (10/5): - The food was out of this world, the double bed was on the small side but the room was very clean and really enjoyed my stay
- mary (8/5): - We enjoyed our visit. The lights were a little disappointing, could not use 1 bedside light at a time.
We placed our towels on hook but still changed.
I think the room could take a bigger bed.
- Sophie (10/5): Cosy stay in a great location - The room was clean and cosy with a comfortable bed. The location was perfect for exploring the Kielder forest. We enjoyed two evening meals at the pub where the service was very friendly and the atmosphere very cosy.
- Jerzy (10/5): A hidden gem - It was first time I have stayed at an Inn in a very long time.
The room was cosy and very clean with the bathroom being quite compact but clean and fully operational.
The views from the room upon the Northumberland were very relaxing and picturesque.
The breakfast service and evening service were amazing. Watch out for the porridge as that portion is very big yet super tasty. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Throughout the whole thing I wished I could stay there longer.
The lake with it's dam parking is a very short drive where you can enjoy the treck around next to kieldar lake.
- Louisa (8/5): - Good quality food, nice room (albeit a bit on the smaller side), clean throughout, nice quiet location with a decent amount of parking.
- June (6/5): Comfortable but could be better. - Room 7 maintenance could have been better. Toilet seat loose, toilet roll holder loose (roll kept falling off onto the floor) dressing table seat pad loose outer door lock misaligned (needed both hands (one pulling door handle hard, the other turning the key). No coat hooks or dressing gown hooks. However, evening food and breakfast gorgeous. Staff excellent, tea and coffee plentiful. USB charging points and good parking.
- Pauline (8/5): - There was a problem with the shower it was stone cold. Robin deducted some money from my bill as a good will gester. Before we checked out a plumber was there to fix the fault for the next guest . These things happen and it hasn't put me off staying again . Food was fab room was clean and service was excellent. Definitely recommend. And will stay again.
- Pamela (6/5): - Enjoyed our stay, good location near kielder lake and observatory, service and meals were very good. Hotel was expensive for the size of the accommodation. Bedroom and shower were very small.
- Alison (10/5): - Traditional, lovely atmosphere, friendly and very welcoming
- Edwin (8/5): - It was lovely except the bed was a bit small and there wasn’t a bath
- Daniel (10/5): Charming country hotel great for visiting Kielder - We picked this hotel because we were going to visit the Kielder Dark Skies Observatory with our children, and it worked very well for us. The observatory is just a short drive away, the family room at the hotel was a delight, the food was very good and we all had a great stay.
- Alaister (10/5): over night stay - Nice room & good food with quick attentive staff, stay was all good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely and clean food was great it's the perfect get away nothing but scenic views ideal for a romantic weekend away
- Elma (10/5): - The location and view....
- Martyn (10/5): - The food was cooked to a very high standard and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
- Michael (8/5): - Really lovely stay at the hotel , situated in a spectacular area of Northumberland. We had a great breakfast and the bed was so comfortable 👍👍
- Jean (10/5): Excellent stay. - Lovely place to stay. Breakfast was excellent and evening meals delicious. Only slight negative was accessing room via stone steps. I’m not very good with steps to managed it. Also could hear snoring coming from neighbouring rooms. All in all would definitely stay again.
- Ian (2/5): - I specifically asked about my dog and was told she could only go in the bar when I got there after a 3 hour drive was told she would have to stay in our room. The manageress did phone round and after a while found us a cottage to stay in but we had to do a food shop.
- Christine (10/5): - Warm welome, friendly polite staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely surroundings , cosy clean warm room. Food was delicious!! Especially sticky toffee pudding what a treat ! . spectacular views , a walk around first thing on a sunny warm morning listening to the birds absolute heaven.
- David (10/5): Great stay - Great stay, great place, great people, great location ( we were going to the Kielder Observatory )
Would stay again
- ANTHONY (10/5): New Year Treat - Excellent small hotel. The food was excellent especially on New Years Eve but breakfast and evening too.
Rooms a little small but we would stay there again, Staff were very friendly and service very good.
- Louise (10/5): - Lovely cozy room and breakfast was excellent.
- Peter (10/5): - Great Chatacter Pub/Restaurant
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay at the Pheasant Inn - Our stay at the Pheasant Inn far exceeded our expectations. It is a delightful country pub serving delicious food. The staff are extremely helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The pub is well situated for visits to the Kielder Observatory and for walks round Kielder water. Highly recommended!
- Roger (10/5): - The food was exceptional, not just excellent, exceptional and it is the only place I have been where the food has arrived hot and on hot plates. Cannot fault the food.
The only two small criticisms are the room No. 5 required at least a queen sized bed, the double bed was too small and we are not large people. My wife did not receive her breakfast until 45mins after ordering it on the last day. It is family run affair and I think it needs more leadership certainly for servicing the tables. I would definitely go there again.
- Anthony (10/5): - lovely welcoming pub. Very friendly, welcoming staff. Food very nice. Beautiful country side location, very close to Kielder Water. Room very nice, comfy beds
- lgbooth (10/5): Restful break - We cannot fault our stay at the Pheasant Inn ,it was comfortable ,friendly and the food was excellent, we will definitely go back .Surrounded by beautiful countryside.
- jill (10/5): Fab place - Really enjoyed our stay lovely pub and rooms and great food ! Definitely visit again if in the area
- Jr (10/5): - Brilliant place. Very comfortable and beautiful and the food was excellent.Highly recommended !
- John (8/5): - Good bed in a nice room that perhaps needed a bit of maintenance (door to ensuite didn't close).
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Food excellent.
- ghislaine (8/5): - Good welcome, good food, room a bit tight for space but beautiful views in a beautiful area
- Leman (10/5): Excellent food, service and stay ... - Excellent food, service and very comfortable room, recommended.
- Ftm (10/5): - Fantastic little place.
Great food, evening meal and breakfast.
Thanks for a great stay.
- Daniel (10/5): Best place to stay during Storm Ciara!! - Great stay at The Pheasant Inn - the service, food and environment was outstanding. Promoting the local produce and serving incredible food. Location is crest to surrounding areas such as Kielder and Northumbria National Park!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A lovely old inn, with very friendly and helpful staff. The food is excellent, and very good value for money. The perfect place to stay when visiting Kielder Forest
- Jacqui (10/5): Stay here after a bike ride around Kielder - Wonderful stay, room was cosy and clean. Pub was great and food very good. We will definitely stay here again.
- David (10/5): An idyllic stay at The Pheasant Inn - Spacious, clean, comfortable, warm and well appointed room with bright modern bathroom. Good views across the fells from our room and totally quiet and black at night meant a good sleep after an excellent meal in the restaurant. Checking in and out was a breeze with friendly and helpful staff. Great location too as we had a leisurely and enjoyable drive home alongside Kielder Water and through the forest. A definite to return to!
- craig (10/5): Just Superb - Absolutely superb from arrival to departure. Fantastic room. Excellent food and the staff were superb. Will definitely stay there again
- Robert (10/5): Ideal for Keilder Observatory visit - Visit to keilder observatory- located 9 miles away or 20 mins - accommodation separate to the Inn which was perfect for a midnight observatory visit and early morning return- excellent meal and good range of keg beers
- Hannah (8/5): - The food was great on an evening however we had a tray breakfast it was given to us the night before so juice was slight warm. Might of been better having a continental breakfast instead
- Paul (10/5): A Delightful Inn - An absolute delightful inn in a beautiful part of the country; on arrival plenty of parking, staff were attentive and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean, well appointed with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was good with a range of options; we also had dinner at the inn, the menu was short but had something for everyone and the presented meals were very good & tasty.
The location is picturesque and a great base for visiting Kielder Water & Forest and other nearby areas/attractions or just walking the many footpaths in the region.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent all round, staff very friendly. Family run for last 34 yrs. Ask if a garden room available.
- Connor (10/5): No wonder people flock here (sorry) - Cosy room, lovely location, good, reasonably priced food.
- Paul (10/5): Superb all round - Had a wonderful stay at this great pub. Friendly and relaxed welcome from staff. The surrounding countryside is the beautiful and can be wholly recommended for a restful break. The accommodation is nicely decorated and very clean. The pub itself is traditional and cosy. The food is hearty and tasty, and good value. Superb breakfast. Wholeheartedly recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice place to stay, near to Keilder, nice food. Wi fi great in room, not so good in bar.
- Matthew (10/5): Great - Great, would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): good food - excellent, good food well presented, very clean room only fault could not get a drink after a visit to the observatory
- kathy (10/5): Delightful old Inn - The Inn was in amazing countryside. Closs to Kielda Water
Very comfortable room and very warm and cosy.
The food was faultless and plenty of choice.
The dining room is very small and all conversation could be heard
some music would have been welcome .
- Antony (10/5): Brilliant staff made for a brilliant weekend - The staff where so friendly. My and my partner missed the breakfast in the morning, so they cooked one up for us. They also helped us with taxis (we where there for a wedding) places to eat and much needed general information. The phone signal is minimal so this level of service was very welcome.
We only ate breakfast at the Pheasant Inn, but it was lovely (Especially the black pudding).
We would definitely stay there again.
- sally (8/5): Pheasant Inn Kielder Northumberland - Nice comfortable room. Lovely pub & fantastic food.
