Guest Reviews
- Zornes (4/5): - None of the Ice machines worked, The staff was wonderful, too bad.
- John (8/5): - Comfortable and affordable for a last minute stay
- Joe (10/5): - Clean rooms walking distance to ihop. They change towels daily
- Mark (10/5): - Great rate, super friendly and accommodating! She let us check in early with no problems. The only negative was that the ice machines were not working but overall I’d stay here again for sure 😉
- Yvonne (2/5): - Great price but room was unkept and noted breaking down we didn’t even want to use bathroom or shower due to the beat down looks
- SUZETTE (2/5): DO YOU LIKE LOCKS THAT DON'T WORK AND BUGS? - The automatic locking on the door did not work. You would never know unless you check it when you leave your room. We left the room for a few hours and didn't check the door after it slammed shut, then when we came back -my grandchild tried the door because she got there first and to our surprise the door opened without the key card. So, we tried it several times to check and it never did lock. Then when they moved us to a new room the bathtub/shower area was so ate up with rust that it looked UNSAFE AND UNSANITARY. Third room had bugs! We didn't finish our stay there. Hotels.com were not very helpful as they could never reach them to approve a refund but they are still listed in their app. YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF SLEEPING IN YOUR CAR. LaQuinta down the street is FAR SUPERIOR - not even comparable! The 8 out of 10 star reviews on the Plaza Inn Big Spring are lies or the front desk is creating them!
- Allison (6/5): - It is an affordable place to stay, and the staff is friendly. I brought my cat, which was an affordable nightly fee, but my room smelled terribly like dog pee. It also badly needed an upgrade. The immediate area seemed safe with plenty of restaurants and grocery stores in driving distance.
- Rudy (10/5): - 👍
- Christopher (6/5): - TV not attached. Room smelled of body odor
- Martina (10/5): - I like that this property is next to an IHOP and just 5 minutes from my grandparents house
- Guy (10/5): - Great customer service, clean room and convenient to places to eat.
- Neil (8/5): - It's very quiet
- Brenda (8/5): Good deal for an overnight stay. - Everything was good about our stay. The rooms are all smoking rooms so there was a smell.
- Verified traveler (8/5): clean, cheap, and old - This is a cheap normal inn. It was clean but old. Nothing special. If you just need to sleep and keep moving this is perfect
- Monique (6/5): - .
- Wade (8/5): - For the price couldn’t ask for a better hotel…
- Luis (4/5): - Property can definitely use some TLC.
- James (10/5): - Decent lodging at a reasonable price. No issues. Friendly staff. Easy check in. No major imperfections.
- Monica (6/5): - The Attendant was so kind and helpful..the rooms were very clean..but the doors seems like if theyre were broken from the handdoor so i feel insecure..then the police stops next room making a lot of noise Nocking the door in the middle of the night .
- Luis (4/5): - Place can use very much needed TLC
- Luis (6/5): - Property not well maintained. This building can look a whole lot better with a little TLC.
- Eva (6/5): - Not a bad hotel if you just want a place to stay the night.
- Cassie (10/5): - Good
- Verified traveler (10/5): - By far the best priced in the area, and charged only $10 for a dog whereas others wanted $50 extra!!, so we thought it'd be sketchy but the room was very clean, sheets fine - no bugs. Obviously quite old, not renovated at all, but perfectly good stay
- Christine (6/5): - First room we were given when locked you could push door open. It would not lock properly. I was advised doors due to weater might have to lift hard to lock. Second room had bugs in trash (imagine my fear of what was in the bed), tub had rust made me question when i had my last Tetanus shot and WHY I stayed there. The Ac unit didn't function properly. When i checked out no receipt provided. The person that checked me in had outstanding customer service, while the one i checked out with NEVER got off her butt or phone to check me out and provide me a receipt. First and last time i will stay at this location. Unfortunate I was borm and raised in Big Spring and hate the lack of customer service and how things are handled by businesses in Big Spring Texas! Things need to change. I refuse less than outstanding experience.
- Michael (6/5): - For a stay in Big Spring, Texas, it qas adequate.
- melissa (10/5): - Then staff was very friendly and the facility and room very clean
- Peter (10/5): - Nice staff affordable room thanks to all
- Hilario (6/5): - No comment!!!
- Steven (6/5): - Old hotel used by oil rough necks and treated poorly
- W D (2/5): Gives cheap motels a bad name - This place is really run down, trashy and overcrowded. I got there late and had to park at the other end of the property. I get it. It's a cheap motel and you gott make allowances, but the A/C unit made the bed vibrate so badly I had to turn it off. It was better, but I still could feel vibrations from the A/C unit(s) in other rooms. It felt like the whole place was rickety and it made me feel like I had butterflies all night. Not a great formula for decent sleep. You probably should pass this one up.
- Adriana D. (8/5): - Nice clean room, tub needs to be updated and they need more parking on the east side of the building. Other then that we had a nice stay.
- Stephen (10/5): - The fencing and the folks hanging in the lot were kinda ghetto, and the cement drippings on the property, but the room was fine
- Jennifer (8/5): Give it a shot - fine for the price, reviews make it sounds really bad, but it's not as that bad. My room was an updated/remodeled room and I was happy with it.
- Fidel (10/5): - Too noisy outside. But not property’s fault
- Arnoldo (8/5): - Good place for the price, I’ll be staying there more often
- John (2/5): - Room was in the middle of some type of update. Old and worn out carpet, furniture peeling bathtub. Dirty toilet.
- Brandi (6/5): One night stay - Check in was great! It does look older and does need to be updated. Room was clean from what we saw, some of the sheets were torn and ripped. Over all stay was good as it was just for one night.
- V (2/5): - There was rust in the shower. I did not use it. There were men sleeping and sitting in thier trucks all around the hotel. Very very scared to take out my luggage out of my car. I will never stay there again.
- Antonio (10/5): - Excelente
- Emma (8/5): - .
- Kim (10/5): Remodeling - The hotel was convenient. Wish we would have known that they were remodeling the whole hotel. Lots of noise and construction mess. The pool looked really nice though.
- Shannon (4/5): - No pool as advertised. Only reason I booked this property. Dirty towels hanging up. Questionable stains on bedding. Wish i could post more than 1 pic
- Cuong (6/5): - No wifi. Construction is going on . Too dirty.
- Vonda (8/5): - Coffee pot did not work, floor was dirty, 2 lamps did not work .
- Robert (8/5): - Quite a clean
- Esther (10/5): - The Plaza Inn was comfortable, and the staff were friendly. It's conveniently located right off the Interstate.
- Kevin (6/5): - It wasn't that great
- Losey (2/5): - Dirty surrounding area(i.e. parking lot), plugs didn't work, room not very clean, large gap on door - cold air came in, bad mattress
- Roberto l (4/5): - The shower was dirty ,have dirt in top of the lamp
- Scott D (6/5): Expensive Pet Upcharge - $25/n/pet is a huge +30% upcharge on top of the $70/n rate advertised in Hotels.com. Rooms are better than average, and bathroom is above average. "Free breakfast" is worth what you pay.
- Kandice (10/5): - Great customer service. Understanding and super helpful!
- Maria (2/5): Dirty filthy - Cleanliness was okay or light was not connected to the wall socket so when we moved the bed to connect the light we found trash filthy dirty and we found a syringe behind the bed as well that just goes to show me that they're not doing their cleaning and who knows who used it or use the bed I took all the sheets off of course and used our own
- Timothy (10/5): - Staff was polite
- Elida (10/5): Satisfied with my stay. - Staff are very friendly and ready to help if needed. The room was clean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great people, great location, been there many times and will go again I'm sure!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - All was fine as always
- robert (6/5): - Staff were very friendly. Able to make a couple of changes requested at check in.
- walter (10/5): - Clean room overall satisfied with my stay. Would stay again 👍
- Verified traveler (8/5): Quick stay - GREAT service, nice people. Room needs a little attention from maintenance viewpoint but it was quite clean. I will go back no dount!!
- David (6/5): - It needs a remodel i couldn't plug anything up except by the bathroom sink and the window sill had wood bee damage
- Marilyn Mcclelland-saleny (8/5): Friendly greeting and quiet. - Nice place for the price. Nothing special but very nice welcome.
- Colleen (8/5): - For the price we paid, the breakfast selection is good compared to other hotels. Front desk staff were friendly and considerate.
- Kim (8/5): - I will stay there again.
- Angel (6/5): - The staff were very friendly and helpful. They are pet friendly, which is a huge plus! There is a travel center next door with a Subway and a Popeye’s Chicken inside. The rooms were clean and odor free. However, the beds did not have fitted sheets on the mattresses, the walls are fairly thin (noise), and the toilet kept running on/off all night. In their defense, I did not inform them of the toilet issue so they had no opportunity to make amends. I would stay at the Plaza Inn Big Spring again.
- Silvia Leticia (8/5): - Staff was friendly. The room wasn’t clean.
- Mandy (2/5): Second worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my life - They do not warn you that this hotel is under construction. Major construction. Was woke up before seven on a Saturday morning by people hammering on the roof directly above our room. We were supposed to stay two nights but we left after this night. All they said is we can relocate your room. To where? The whole place is under construction. Old rooms. This is the second worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my life. I would never recommend anyone stay here. Lots of shady people walking around too. And it is right next to a huge truckstop. I had already paid my room fee so I figured I’d try to stay the night. Big mistake. Should I just ate the charge and gone to the other hotel like I did the next day
- Chris (8/5): - Room was maintained well and the people were friendly and helpful
- Jeffrey Q. (6/5): Good for overnight stay! - It was just for overnight stay. Room air conditioner good, parking right infront the suite, good pay for the money, quiet place! Slept well!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast room was kept meticulously clean. The room was nicer thsn expected. The bathtub needs to be replaced.
- Jean-Marc (10/5): - Room was comfortable and the price was very good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - ice upon arrival was back - I came through the door - the was NO ONE in the office. I was there over 12 minutes w/o seeing anyone. I finally found someone outside who DID work there! I've have stayed there several times in recent months and the usual gal who is there is GREAT.. After a day in 105+ heat - and a long ride I wanted in my room that I PAID for!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Stay there - By all means you will not go wrong. Front desk lady is
AWESOME!!! Clean, quiet, this is the second time I've stayed in the last month and I am going two more time in the next month!!! I WILL stay there no doubt. There is no need to waste money on some brand new chain - this location does thing quite well for a very good price!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Easy on/off from Interstate, food optiond close by.
- Heath (10/5): I'm going again!!! - Desk clerk VERY nice and helpful!!! I will go again next time in area. Reasonably priced and very relaxing after a long day!!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The price was good but the room needed some work. I would not have wanted to pay any more than I did to stay there.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We were told no parking by our room, but found it to be untrue. We were told to walk around building to get tp our room. Back area very filthy lots of trash around and near room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location was good and the price was good. This was an older motel but had been maintained and compared to other motels in the area, the price was not bad.
- SWCampbell (2/5): - Dirty furniture, obvious evidence of ceiling leaks, pool was a pit with stagnant water, no breakfast, no shower diverter
- Verified traveler (6/5): - New flooring & bath, but sink/bath walls need renewal. New AC, gel-top mattress. Has small microwave, coffeepot, mini-frig. New door lacked chain. Exterior in rough shape. In Covoid-19 limitations, no breakfast or even grab-&-go bagged meal. OK for budget travelers. Next to Gas station & Subway, but other restaurant closed.
- Cecilia (2/5): - The room it was in bad condition, no clean bed, dirty bath, peeling from the ceiling.
Friendly front desk
- Verified traveler (2/5): - nothing right when I walked in the door the guy had an attitude I guess because I rang the door bell once no one came couple minutes later rang again he finally came and when he did he yelled and said come in instead of going to the little window there
- Star_Shark23 (8/5): - Fairly inexpensive/good value. Room was clean and had everything needed; bed, bathroom, AC, TV (volume sucked), good program selection, fridge, microwave, all the bathroom appliances, soap and shampoo and towels. Room and facilities were orderly and clean. Check in and check out was quick and easy. My only complaint would be the location and it being next to a truck stop. It gets noisy at night, so if you’re a light sleeper, request the side opposite to the truck stop.
Again, overall good value and I’d visit again.
- Cindy (4/5): - Easy access on and off from I-20. Check in was quick and easy.
Furniture and mattresses piled up at the dumpster. Paint on walls scarred and scratched. Bed springs squeaked. Cigarette laying on top of the end of the bed in a no smoking room. Clerk came to desk in PJ's for check out and had to be summons to get her there.
Breakfast was horrible.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was close to the 20 fwy and near a truck stop. Load and not as updated as it could have been. But good enough for one day stay...
Also the free breakfast was good...
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I had a very nice stay the pool was unusable due to construction but i understand overall great place
- Daymon (2/5): Sux - Room was nasty and smelled, very noisy outside guest.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel is run down. Room for improvement.
The price was fair
- Joe (8/5): - Cheap rates for the oil patch. I’ve stayed there 3, or 4 times. All pleasant stays. Clean linen/towels Breakfast! Helpful, friendly staff. They are renovating too. A/C blows cold.
- Silvia (2/5): Do not take your family go that hotel - Horrible experience, the rooms are not what the Website says they are.
- Mat (4/5): - The bathtub was filled with hairs and the toilet was stained. The walls were all dirty.
- Jackson (8/5): Clean room good value - No bed bugs, cable tv, bed was comfortable. AC probably could have worked a little better, but overall good place to stay for the value. The diner next door was good too.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The service staff was very friendly.
Although it was very late in the evening he was very cheerful and provided us with ans set up 3 extension cords for our c-paps and oxygen concentrator.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location, easy to find.Friendly staff. Good air conditioner on a hot day.
- David (8/5): It's an oilfield hotel. - Friendly staff clean room sort of. Confortable bed. Plenty of hot water.. Breakfast was surprisingly good.. Lots of people hanging out after working all day. Never a problem with anyone.. Remember a lot of people stay here that work in the oilfield.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Cleaner than I expected for what seemed like an older establishment
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Initially given a room someone else was already in. It was late. I was tired. Took another 30 minutes to fix. Cheap room, so didn’t expect too much, but that was a first.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Reception was nice and check in was fast. We needed dinner info and the staff was knowledgeable. A bit noisy but that was to be expected. Good for the price.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Availability and comfortable. Easy check-in and plenty of parking
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The place was very clean. The staff was very courteous and quick to tend to us.
