- Inga (5/5): Das war nicht gut - Die Lage war perfekt für uns. Wir kamen spät in Edinburgh am Flughafen an und suchten eine Übernachtungsmöglichkeit in der Nähe. Das Personal bei der Ankunft war freundlich. Am ärgerlichsten war die Frühstückssituation. Hier scheint sich im Vergleich zu früheren Bewertungen das System geändert zu haben. Es gab kein echtes Frühstück, nur eine Tüte mit einem Croissant, einem Müsliriegel, einem Apfel, Milch und Cornflakes. Die Tüte wurde nachts vor die Tür gestellt. Eine Kaffeemaschine stand im Zimmer. Als wir morgens einen Kaffee machen wollten, mussten wir jedoch feststellen, dass es keine Kapseln dazu gab. Das Personal kam morgens erst um 10 Uhr. Wir konnten daher auch nicht nach Kaffee fragen. Des weiteren gab es nur einen Stuhl, sodass die 2. Person wohl im Stehen frühstücken sollte. Das Zimmer war nicht sehr sauber. Der Teppich war fleckig und auf den Heizkörpern lag fingerdick der Staub.

- Ann Marie (6/5): Close to airport so ok for a quick one night stay, nothing special. - Quick one night stay before departing from Edinburgh airport early the next morning (20 min away) Our room was directly above the very noisy pub with live music and on the street front so the added noise from people on the street and leaving the pub.

Es la segunda vez que vamos y esta vez nos tocó una habitación bastante pequeña. Ya no hay desayuno, nos dejaron unas bolsas con algo de leche, fruta, cereales... hubiéramos preferido bajar a desayunar al restaurante como la otra vez.

The flight left Zurich after the time we were due to collect our car from Edinburgh and then I took a wrong turn at the roundabout. At about 2.00am they guided us to arrive at about 2.30am! How wonderful and gracious is that!! We loved everything!

The breakfast offering is a joke, a wee bag with stale pastry, a box of cereal, uht milk and if you’re lucky a piece of fruit. Considering the cost you’d expect a better breakfast. thankfully staff gave a heads up about the breakfast at check in so I knew what to expect

The room wasn’t very clean, the bathroom the shower cubicle was tiny , the staff wasn’t very helpful, we also had food at the hotel. Wasn’t the best either. 20mins to come get food order, got that then waited another 20mins for pudding order by that time I had enough. If I wasn’t staying there I would have walked out. Also we had a dog and he cut his nose on the radiator which when I went down and felt it, it had sharp edges to it along the bottom. So that’s not very good if there was small children in the rooms. The curtains in the room did even have enough length to cover the window.

However when we booked in we were told that breakfast consisted of a bag which was deposited at the door to our room before 9PM. This bag contains milk. There was no way to keep this milk fresh in a hot room There were no plates or even a knife to spread the jam on the croissants. Only 1 chair in the room so we had to sit on the bed to eat This is not what we expected from the price we paid. Finally,, check out was terrible. There wasn't a single member of staff available. All we got was a notice telling us to leave the key in a box

- Chloe (6/5): Pleasant stay, good value for money but beds could be comfier. - The property was very clean, the room was cleaned by Tanya and Emily, and I have to say it was immaculate which was great. Staff were very friendly upon check in and then again at check out. Very attentive. It was close walking distance to the train station (13 minutes) and other amenities which was decent. The beds weren’t too comfy quite a hard mattress and uncomfortable for me as someone with chronic pain conditions. The vegetarian breakfast wasn’t the best and was missing the hash browns and the potato scones were greasy, however, I think they were understaffed today and the staff member tried her best so could just be a bad day. The walls are very thin in the property so can hear a lot of what’s going on in the other rooms.

The location was quite central to the town, which is what we wanted. The curtains needed attention - one corner was hanging down from the rail, which meant they would not keep all the daylight out (if it hadn't been dark for most of the time we were in the room).

- Dave (9/5): Cosy, friendly, welcoming - and a superb breakfast! - A really comfortable, friendly little hotel with good, clean facilities, extremely friendly, helpful staff, a cosy, little room, great food and drink and one of the best cooked breakfasts I have ever had! Highly recommended if you're looking for a nice place to stay in this part of Scotland - I would certainly happily stay there again. Limited teas and and coffees in the room and the small bathroom was a bit cold compared to the lovely warm room, but this really is a minor gripe!

Nice bar and had a main meal one night which was also lovely Nothing , I believe it is having a refurb which it does need but nothing major and also need more staff at busy times. The staff were run off their feet but they were very kind and polite but could have done with a bit of support.

- Janice (5/5): This was a last minute booking just for the one night so we made do. Staff could have been friendlier. - It was cosy. Upon arrival we asked for a table for dinner. The lady said no problem I’ll sort that for you we went to our room and we’re back down within 15 minutes only to be told that the kitchen had closed @ 8pm. It was 3 minutes past. We had been travelling since the morning and were really looking forward to a home cooked meal before we retired but we were told no it was closed. The welcome book in our room stated the restaurant closed at 9pm. The toilet flush in our room was broken so we couldn’t flush the toilet at all. There was a very inadequate electric shower that barely got you wet. On the plus side the bed was very comfy.
