Guest Reviews
- Keith (10/5): - A little hard to find but pleasant staff, easy to get around and pretty affordable for what you get.
- Lyne (8/5): - Matelas too soft
- Jeff (10/5): I recommend it. - I came expecting to stay a week and ended up staying six weeks. It had all the basics, was clean and quiet and is nicely located.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
- Roman (10/5): - Excellent value for the money!
- Paul (6/5): - Great cheap price to get some rest and shower to head back on the roast
- Stephane (10/5): - Really great option.
- Jennifer (10/5): - It was very quiet, was able to relax easily.
Did not like - how high the beds where from the ground. Would have liked if there was an option for a stool to help get into the bed. I am short and I was hurt recently (after I had booked), so was having trouble climbing into the bed.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Pro - It had lovely walking trails nearby that were easy to get to. Fans were provided.
Con - was unsure is access to the meal hall was included and was to shy to ask. Beds were also hard and high and awkward to get into. Almost needed to ask for a stool.
- Allegra (10/5): - Affordable and has the necessary amenities for a short term stay.
- Heidi (6/5): - It was a college dorm room. Not much else to say. For $48 US, it served it's purpose. Showers and bathrooms coed.
The woman who checked us in was very nice and the kids on campus were helpful in directing us where to check in .
Downtown Truro has a beauriful little arts center where we caught a lical Cuban concert. Found a great cafe Novel Tea, and had a good dinner at a restaurant 200 yards from the theater.
- Brian (4/5): - Like sleeping in a cell block. Very basic.
- John (10/5): - Property and location worked for us.
- Brian (6/5): - This was the first place I have ever stayed with gender-neutral washrooms and shower facilities. In both spaces, the toilets and showers are individual stalls, but the partitions are not floor-to-ceiling. While I didn't encounter any issues in these spaces, this may concern some, and the listing should reflect that.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Simple, Basic, Clean - No Frills - Basic, simple, clean rooms with coed washrooms and showers. All could use an upgrade with a bit of fresh paint and some modernization (especially the showers)
- Robert (8/5): - Basic faciliy which provideded a base for travel in NS
- Doug (6/5): - This was an older residence which needs a lot of maintenance. The wash rooms were uni sex which could be uncomfortable for some people.
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Inexpensive stay. Rooms are fine.
- Marguerite (10/5): - It was fun to stay at a dorm. I'm eligible for senior discounts and I had never stayed in a dorm before. Everyone should do it at least once!
- Tisha (8/5): - A great budget friendly option. Clean and basic. We were only there to sleep as we had a busy weekend off-property.
Check in was easy and staff were friendly. Checking out we just left the key in the room as directed.
Cosmetically, shower stalls didn't looking very appealing, however the water pressure was amazing!
- Paul (8/5): - great value for price
- Zhuo (10/5): - Just good!
- Allister (2/5): - Horrible accommodations with no directions to the checking desk. Spend the other $60 & stay elsewhere.
- ZHIXI (4/5): - Property conditions & facilities need to improve.
- krista (4/5): - The residence is old and run down. They placed us in a room right beside other noisy occupants. They could/should have spaced us out more to avoid disturbing each other. Would not stay here again.
- Sharon (2/5): - Do not go thete
- Kevin (10/5): - Nice and inexpensive
- Racquel (8/5): - Easy to locate
- Dietrich (6/5): - It was a university residence, so I feel we got reasonable value for the price we paid. Staff was very friendly. Lights next to the bed would have been an appreciated plus.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great price, but lots of loud revellers in front of window until 5AM.
- Scott (6/5): Cheaper place for sleeping - I was passing through town and this was a relatively cheap place to stay. It was $60 for the night. I basically had a whole floor of a dorm building to myself. Despite the lower price I tend to think it wasn't really a great value. I could've stayed for less and had a better experience at an Air B&B. There's no TV. No soap or shampoo. They do supply towels and wi-fi. It was kind of quiet and creepy in there. It was a reminder of how crappy dorms are in college. I might stay here again if I just needed a bed and a roof over my head but I am not looking back on my time here with fondness. It was a bit of a bummer.
- Jillian (8/5): - Great inexpensive spot to lay your head. Everything was really clean and it was an easy check-in. Some people complained of the co-Ed bathrooms, but it wasn’t a big deal for us. Would stay here again next time I’m looking to stay overnight in Truro. :)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Extremely good deal if you're traveling solo or with another no AC but the rooms were cool enough
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Older facility, but clean and pleasant. And very inexpensive. There was a bit of traffic noise. Staff was lovely.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I like nothing at all about this property. It doesn’t provide basic need, not even a chair
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Having co ed bathrooms and shower stalls(!) is just plain wrong. They meed to fix this. Slso terrible mattresses. Staff was very accomodating but I do not recommend staying here. Tired facilities.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Clean room. Showers need updating. Price made up for downfalls
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff. No soap for shower. Drink machine not working in the building I was in but okay in other building
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was fairly nice and quiet. The rooms were clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Beds are clean and comfortable. Rooms are very basic with minimal furniture and lighting. Shared washrooms and showers were clean and functional.
- Jean-Francois (6/5): Cheap prices and clean - Ok and clean ! Cheap prices for a one night stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Basic accommodation but good value for your money.
- Carol (2/5): Horrible - Horrible, beds hard as a rock. No soap, nothing.
- Jil (10/5): - Great place to stay on a budget. Very clean. Free parking, WiFi and laundry! Bathrooms and showers are all stalls and coed, which may be uncomfortable for some people. Take a robe and a way to hang toiletries if needed. My building was not accessible, but others may be.
- KC (8/5): - The university residence room was simple, but spotlessly clean and comfortable. A good deal for the price!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Property was very clean and quiet. Sheets were good. Pillows poor quality. I booked with Expedia but hotel had no record of my booking.
- Lynn (4/5): Dorm room stay - We were extremely uncomfortable with the "Co-Ed" bathrooms. If you are going to have co-ed bathrooms, then cover up the urinals or make them somehow unusable . I walked in on a man peeing at the urinals which is extremely uncomfortable, and something I would not want my daughter to have to deal with. This could create a compromising and inappropriate situation. Additionally, my husband walked in to the bathroom when a college-aged women was there. He also felt uncomfortable and went to another floor. It turns out that there was a women's bathroom down the hall, which could have alleviated the whole situation.
- Alexandra (10/5): Comfortable accommodation in Truro - My husband and I decided to spend a day and night in Truro on our way from Saint John to Halifax. It turns out that staying at the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus was a perfect fit for our needs. A great location, friendly staff, and a pretty campus. The room was spacious and comfortable, and quite affordable.
- Patrick (8/5): It's a college dorm room, folks. - Great price. It's adorn room, though! Co-ed washroom & scores are a bit too much.
- Justin (8/5): - Good location, easy check in, shared washrooms and showers, included laundry, towels, coffee and parking.
- Paul (10/5): - Please be aware you’re staying in a simple University dormitory. Going into the visit with that expectation I was fully satisfied.
