- Tony (10/5): Could not have found a better hotel - Lovely greeting when checking in, informed that the road would be closed until later in the evening due to St Georges celebrations happening in the main square but could use the free city car park until the road opened ,then park in hotel car park. Also informed that it would possibly be a bit noisy as it was karaoke night but given ear plugs which were not needed as our room was quiet plus very roomy and recently decorated to a high standard and spotlessly clean. Our breakfast consisted of continental or a variety of cooked meals or both with tea, coffee or juice. We also had evening meals with our friends which were very good , Will definitely be back. Nothing all above our expectations.

Sunday Karaoke until 11pm was noisy. The shower was over a very high sided bath which I couldn’t access after a hip replacement 3 months ago.

- leech (10/5): Lovely room. Comfortable bed. Super helpful staff and good food and wine. - Blown away by the staff who went above and beyond to make our stay a happy one.
From the bar staff to managers, nothing was a problem. Nothing. I highly recommend a visit.
- Angela (10/5): Comfy bed. - Right from the start our stay we were made to feel welcome. Everyone was so friendly. Our room was very clean and fresh. When it came to bedtime, the bed was exceptionally comfortable, we didn't want to leave. There was a DJ on the night we stayed and we were offered ear plugs, but didn't need them. Great stay from start to finish. There's was nothing not to like.

- Michelle (8/5): -
- Greg (10/5): -
- IslandBubuz (4/5): Did not experience value for money. - Above all, the employees were always helpful. Whenever a question was asked, someone was off to get more towels, or ask the manager if we could squeeze in a table at new years eve, always helpful.
Shower had very little water pressure. As my sister said, you were never quite sure all the soap was rinsed off, so little water pressure. Was there for 2 nights, did not take a shower the second night, so much effort to get so little water.
It is evident the room had a refurb, the carpet is new, room is warm, walls painted. Room was quite a bit dusty, sneezing after being in room for 5 minutes. We took antihistamines to combat sneezing.
Room was surprisingly quiet. Noise from downstairs was barely audible. However dog was in room next door. Barked all night!!! Why, why, why, bring a dog if you are going to keep it locked up all night? Dim witted idea!! Cruel!! Leave the poor thing home!! What could be more cruel than bringing it along, then locking it in the room, only to have it bark all night!! Idiots!!
As in someones photo, the one with the cups for tea, and biscuits, those are the ONLY sockets available. None by the beds. No where else in the room. Beause the room is pokey, l had to dry my hair over my sisters bed, no other room available to do this.
Room was pokey, forgot to take that picture.
In room #7.
Soap, shampoo, in dispensers available. No hair conditioner.
Stayed here, thinking food was just downstairs, easy for meals. Food was surprisingly okay. Beware mixed grill, as steak is tough/chewy. Person who ordered it has eaten many mixed grill, especially in March area, and this was a tough steak.
We stayed here, as was only one available on short notice. Can see why now. Will not stay again.
- Lynn (10/5): -
- mitchell (10/5): Super value for money, excellent kitchen -
- Roy (10/5): Great location and staff and great - Stay there many times and the staff are always here to help
- Peter (8/5): -

- David (1/5): - We booked through booking.com and when we arrived they'd overbooked and we had to find other accommodation. We haven't had a refund yet.
- Julia (10/5): Lovely little place - Room was lovely, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great. Really good value for money. Car park very dark and not easy to find where to park
- Heather (7/5): Perfect for our needs - Great location lovely staff comfortable bed Bathroom was very tired
- Simon (10/5): - Very clean and tidy, staff were very accommodating. Breakfast was great value. Shower was slightly under pressured for myself but in all fairness iv had far worse and not complained.
- sandywA2119NN (10/5): Lovely family meet up - Great local ...super friendly atmosphere with helpful staff and varied, value for money menu.
Aways first choice for meetings with family and friends.
- Lisa (8/5): -
- Hughes (10/5): Griffin hotel - Very clean rooms lovely central location, excellent food at a reasonal price has quaint rustic charm ,staff are friendly and helpful this is our second visit would recommend
- Hughes (10/5): - Everything is excellent
- Jennifer (5/5): Not the best - We knew it was a busy with a disco but our room was right over the top of the bar and even with ear plugs you could not block out the noise which carried on into at least 1.30am. Also some idiot set of the fire alarm, not the pub’s but didn’t help!!
- Lorraine (8/5): -
- Susan (10/5): We’ll be back - Too late for breakfast! Location . The room above us was very noisy - sounded like they were rearranging the room!! 🤣
- Paul (10/5): -
- Jeffrey (8/5): Good overnight say, good breakfast, and good location for the town - Room was well appointed, comfy large bed, good shower and very clean Car park a bit scruffy and not that easy to access
- Maria (10/5): Visiting family and I can walk to their property from the pub - Had a Queen size bed and a bath Can be a little bit noisy as we was located right by the car park
- Elizabeth (10/5): Yet another fun stay at this fenland gem - Everything!
The vibe
The staff
The value for money
The free karaoke entertainment
The food and drink choices Nothing
- Andy (9/5): - Staff very helpful & friendly. Room exceptionally clean & very comfy. Pub very lively with a great atmosphere. Only downside was some water noises going all night. Other than that a superb stay.
