Guest Reviews
- CRISTINA (10/5): - We stayed here a few times. Always a great spot to be in the middle of the nature. BBQ and cooking facilities are a bonus, as well as the fire pit for a relaxing end of the day. Will stay again
- Jennifer (6/5): - Great location and cheaper than other places in area. Room was large and employees were nice and helpful. Only downside is the property is old and in need of remodel.
- weijian (10/5): - Very good
- weijian (10/5): - Very good
- Rick (6/5): - The property needs some serious updating. I was okay for a 1 night stay but would not stay there again.
- LynnnC (4/5): - Run Down ~ Very disappointed for the price.
- Anthony (10/5): - Heather & Alice were extremely nice and helpful.
- Amanda (4/5): - Very nice property manager. So loud from traffic on the road, paper thin walls, and barking dogs. Rooms very outdated and uncomfortable.
- Varun (2/5): - Booked a room for 4 adults but we got a queen bed.
- Amit (8/5): - It was nice
- Ted (10/5): - Heather was wonderful!!
- Laurence (6/5): - The property is in transition to vacation rentals. It does not really operate well as a motel. The room was not very clean, the heat was a problem. For a one or two night stay in Cooper Landing, it is OK at best.
- Yaroslava (4/5): Only use for emergency stay - While the host/manager was attentive to our needs, the unit is in need of TLC. Leaky rusted bathroom, dirty worn out chairs; rollaway bed = thin mattress on the floor that only fits in dirty niche in bedroom. Stove is old with only one burner working and soiled foil around dangling burners.
- Kent (6/5): - Property could use some updating inside, soap dispensers empty. Not enough towels in room
- Courtney (2/5): - The bathroom had black mold and was dirty. They don’t offer cleaning services during your stay.
- Rikki (2/5): - Although the property owners were kind and regretful of the room and property conditions, there was not a way to improve the situation. The property owners tried to make it right by offering to change the linens, clean the room, etc, but we ended up not staying and driving on to Anchorage to find other accommodations and get some rest before our flight. No refund offered.
- Jessica (4/5): Last resort - Hair everywhere in the bathroom, dirty/stained towels. Not kept up
- Helen (6/5): - This property was fine for a one night stay while driving through. Nothing to write home about.
- Shelly (4/5): - The price was cheaper than most places and we were willing to not have a perfect stay. Our biggest issue was not even a full roll of TP and had to ask 3 other rooms for an extra roll. Everyone had only a single roll. The last guys gave us what they had since they carry their own. I had to ask for clean sheets after they moved us the second night. This place could be so much better. We are not even picky.
- Kaiden (2/5): - Very dirty room. There was spider webs throughout the room. The bed was hard as a rock and the pillows looked older than me. Worst of all was there was NO HOT WATER! After a long day, I at least wanted a nice hot shower but the water was ICE COLD. I do not recommend staying here. Pay a little extra to get a better experience elsewhere.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Quant, well kept up, older motel - This motel sits along the highway at a midpoint between Anchorage, Seward, and Homer in Alaska. The views are beautiful, as they are all along the highways in this area. It's kind of a quiet spot, removed from any hustle and bustle.
The motel is obviously old but is well maintained. There are classic outlets available, but don't expect usb ports or modern conveniences. The wi-fi is too slow to support the provided Roku device, but you visit a place like this for streams, not streaming.
We were in and out early and late, so there was never anyone in the office when we were onsite but was on call if needed. Heather was very friendly and helpful when we reached out to her for online check-in and made sure we could access the rooms for a late arrival. No key needed, as the rooms use code entry.
The pillows were thin and there were no extras in the room, but we made do. We could have asked for extras, but we didn't want to bother anyone so late in the day. No A/C, but it really isn't necessary in this area. The windows have screens and if it gets warm, you can just open them to cool off the room.
The biggest issue was a lack of hot water during the last night/morning of our stay. We were informed it was out, and they were working on it, but it wasn't restored in time for us to shower before leaving for our next destination. These things happen, and I'm sure it was just bad timing that it happened while we were there.
All in all, it was a nice stay.
- SIEW-TIEN (2/5): - No shampoo, conditioner or body wash. Dirty towels and no hot water
- janet (4/5): - The manager was nice. Microwave had old encrusted food on the turntable, tv did not work, internet good. . Granted beginning of season so they were still trying to get opened. . Gave me a $50.0 discount for change in price I have not seen on statement yet. Very rustic. Manager doing the best she could but ...
- Jacquelyn (10/5): - Our stay was nice. We were only there for a quick night before our fishing trip. The girl at the front desk was super helpful and very friendly. I would stay there again
- Keri (6/5): - Alaska is beautiful… so we took it. Definitely under staffed. Heather helped as much as she could. She needed more help. She was great! And the rating has no thorp do with her. Loved her!
- Janice (2/5): - This was the worst hotel experience of my life. Stating with the absent front desk attendant. The room was run down and in disrepair. It didn’t seem to be cleaned. The bed had a flat sheet on the mattress and no top sheet. When I asked for another sheet I was given it in an unfolded mess. Had two nights booked but checked out the next morning. This place is in desperate need of new management.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Terrible. No one works at the front desk. You have to call a phone number and hope someone picks up. Walls are so think when someone walks upstairs you think they are in your room. Shampoo/soap dispenser all empty
I needed to extend my stay an additional night and it took 45 min and multiple calls just to stay in my room.
I’d look elsewhere
- Stuart (4/5): - Nice staff at the check in. Subsequent interactions were curt but not horrible. Very little toilet paper that definitely would not last the 2 nights unless you were to use the 1 square rule) and we were made to feel like asking for more was an unreasonable request. Approximately 1/30th of the TP roll remained when we checked in.
- Brady (4/5): - We waited outside for 30mins during the check in period for someone to check us in. Instructions said to call the number on the door which we got voicemail four times and left messages. Room smelled musty, multiple brown stains on the towels, and yellow stains on the pillow cases and bedding. There were multiple black hairs in the sheets and the room was out of TP. It is at a great location, right in town but we will not be staying again due to uncleanliness and unprofessional staff.
- Richard (6/5): Some issues - Lots of things not working well—heat, Wi-Fi, electricity. Good location clean comfortable bed.
- Joanna (10/5): - Wonderful and quiet area. Hotel was clean and spacious- highly recommend!
- James (6/5): - Was convenient to the river, relaxing, cooking a meal and sleeping. Great fisherman lodging.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent place to stay. - Decent place to stay.
- pankaj (10/5): - Beautifully located at the bottom of the hills.
The staff was very friendly and also provide remote checkin in case your checkin in late. Call them on their number to complete the process.
- debra (2/5): Not fit for humans. - The heat did not work, it was 40° outside. They brought me a mini space heater. Everything was filthy; the shower, night stands, floors, etc.. The fabric chairs were awful, not only dirty, but old, thin cushions, the wood frame of the chair was hurting the back of my thighs. I would never let anyone stay here, we were so disgusted.
- Frank (10/5): - Very nice eating area with grill and table. Fire pit with plenty of wood. Heather is a great host.
- Patricia (6/5): - Property was clean. Extreme outdated. Toilet was brown. Beds were clean and comfortable. Not worth $245.
- Virginia (10/5): - The Owner of this property was very friendly and helpful and did her best at meeting our needs.
Will for sure stay here again!
- Diane (4/5): - Communication between the limited staff was poor to non existent. The process to “check in if arriving after 8:00 pm was inefficient. Once—after several days of me reaching out to set that up—(to arrive after 8:00 pm), we were given our room number and code, but upon arrival & entering the room, the room was dirty and had been used. The owner eventually came and cleaned the room while we waited. Not really worth the wait….
- Karen (10/5): - Very spacious. Comfy bed. A little outdated, but great nonetheless.
- Cynthia (10/5): - Room was very clean & nice, with a double & twin bed. Kitchen includes dishes, coffee maker, sink, microwave, refrigerator & more. Very clean, parked right outside my door.
- Jerry (8/5): - Adequate, , but not outstanding.
- Raj (8/5): Comfortable stay at Alpine Inn motel - It is a basic room to stay but has all the needed amenities. Spacious room, very clean and a helpful host in Tom.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice stay - Clean and quiet.
- Janey (10/5): - Clean rooms with professional staff. It was a great experience.
- george (6/5): - The stove-top and kitchen area was working but very limited space and no utensils. The bathroom ceiling had cobwebs.
- Li (2/5): - We arrived and wait for the code, however, we could not reach the manager. We don't know know how long we need to wait, so we try to cancel it. After one hour and 20 mins the manager replied but we have left and arrive other place. We called Expedia and the manager, however we could not get the refund
- Bryan (8/5): - Nice location in Cooper Landing.
- Ronald (8/5): - Great location but it’s an older property made of wood you can hear everyone walking above & in Hallways the location couldn’t be better it’s really an Amazing spot. I would definitely stay again and it’s very close to all the Boats & Shoos
- Harvey (6/5): - the place is further from Seward than shown in hotel.com's listing page. it is 47miles not 29 miles. keep that in mind when booking. Also try to stay on 2nd floor. 1st floor very noisy from tenants above. the tv service is bad. you can only stream but not enough band width to stay on. So the picture goes on then goes off for long periods of time. Not watchable!
- JULIE (6/5): - Budget motel. Older property, but Clean for a nights stay
- jacob (4/5): - Cheap.
- john (8/5): - We stayed 2 nights - the hotel was clean, had a king bed. Never saw any staff. It was a pretty basic motel - served the purpose - we were there for fly fishing.
- anna (4/5): - TV & internet was not working but the staff came to the room and resolved it later.
- Bruce (6/5): - A coat of paint, switches and lights maintained, and general upkeep of the property would make a huge difference in the decision to ever stay there again.
- Alyssa (10/5): - Loved it here!
Friendly helpful staff. They were accommodating to our late check in. Communication was great!
The towels were super fluffy and wonderful. The pillows were great.
We really enjoyed our stay. Would recommend to anyone!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Coffee mugs, kettle weren't clean and toilet wasn't, water leaks from tub
- Sean (10/5): - Easy check in. It’s like a 1 bedroom apartment with a queen bed in the living room… separate rooms. Awsome! Much more than I expected.
- Aileen (8/5): - Our room needed a few repairs. There was no shade at all on one of the windows, which really matters in July in Alaska if you want to sleep. The main reading lamp’s bulb was burnt out.
- Judith (6/5): - It was outdated and old seemed clean but there was an unwashed towel hanging on the door. Had to call several times to check in as the office was closed. A staff member walking by let us in she was very friendly and helpful
- Christopher (10/5): - Great staff, clean, neat, convenient and s good value.
- Carla (10/5): Would stay here again - Very clean budget hotel; it isn’t five star lodging, but it is clean and comfortable. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. I would stay here again.
- Vaughn (8/5): - It was fine
- Jing (6/5): - No breakfast/meal on site. The room is big and has a kitchen. Bedding and showering stuffs provided are basic. I
- Pamela C. (10/5): - Was a pleasant stay. ThNk you!!!
- Harvey (2/5): - The room smelled terrible - like fish processing and urinal cakes with an overlay of Lysol. The smell was so saturated in the bedding that we had to wash our pajamas before we could wear them again. The individual shampoo containers were half empty or less, suggesting that they were recycled from previous guests. The spare toilet paper was stacked on the toilet plunger.. Aside from a bed, the only place to sit down was two folding chairs. Our advertised "mountain view" room gave us a great view of an external stairwell.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Book only if nothing left - Not that bad unless you just want to SLEEP.
Amenities are ok, though I would say it's quite pricey even for Alaska. The worst thing is when you have neighbors above you. It's not just noise, it's like explosions in your head - something wrong with the motel construction, it amplifies the steps sooooo badly. We were woken up a few times during the night, and we're not sensitivie to sounds at all!
To summarize: book this if there's nothing have left, and you're tight on a budget.
- Cindy (10/5): - This hotel was a pleasant surprise. We had a bedroom and another queen bed in the front of the room. This was perfect with an one year old. It was very clean.
- Fredrick Lee (6/5): - Older property, unsatisfactory mattress, no amenities.
- Ruth (10/5): - The manager was very nice and allowed my border collie to sleep beside my bed.
- Edna (10/5): - Alaskan hospitality at its finest : simple yet very thoughtful : WE FELT AT HOME .
Our accomodations included dishes, pots and pans , silverware, cookware , a coffee maker, a microwave, a regular stove and oven , a kitchen counter and sink , a separate bedroom with a queen size very comfortable bed .
- Balvantrai (4/5): - Only book this property if nothing is available! Drive 50-75 miles but avoid this property.
- Alisha (8/5): - This is an older but well maintained motel. Staff was helpful.
- Wesley (8/5): - Alpine Inn is ok for a one night trip. It’s very old, but it was clean. We were disappointed that there is no tv service. After driving all day, it would be nice to sit back and watch tv. There’s one in the room, but no service. I don’t get it. They advertise a coffee shop, but there’s no coffee shop. There is a grocery next door that sells coffee. It’s ok, but not as advertised by any means. It was fine for the one night we needed to be there. I definitely would not go for more than one night.
- Angela (6/5): Place in a pinch - Not much to say the Manager said he was new and had to fire everyone the room was clean. Noisy as we could hear everything the people above us did all night long. Not much on Customer service
- Steven (8/5): - We stayed here one night and due to various amazing Alaska activities, we were a bit late to check in. It was very easy to contact the management and check in remotely in advance. Check out was a breeze as well. This worked perfectly for us and allowed us to experience Cooper Landing fishing! When we had questions, the management was helpful and quick.
- Mark (4/5): - The property was advertised as having a kitchenette. Yet, it had no utensils, dishes, towels etc - all of which was indicated to be in the office if needed. However, even though the office sing indicted it was open, the office was locked the entire time we there.
In addition, one light worked one day but not the second, the bathroom fan never worked and the overall condition was very poor. While we know prices in Alaska are higher, for what this place cost it should have been much better than it was
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It was terrible one. Room was smelling like fungus. Bed covers smelt and looked like not washed properly. We booked for 4 people but bed was for 3 people. We were chargers extra 30 dollar for extra one. Room was not clean. Kitchenettes we’re not out of date and not usable. It was terrible choice. Expedia displays this room with kitchenette as if good for a family but we regretted booking this one. Don’t book it.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Never met the staff. Super nice in the phone, but no where to be seen. The bathroom was clean though stark. Beds were 3 twins, even the full bed we were supposed to have were 2 twins individually sheeted, not aligned under the headboard and with one sitting askew from the other like an afterthought. They were at least comfortable beds and appeared clean. There was a weirdly positioned table, but no chair of any kind in the room. The stove was filthy and nothing was dusted. Walls and floors in the building are paper thin.
- Sharon (8/5): - Beds need to be updated. Rooms are not to sound proof.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean and basic - Good basic motel in a great location. Basic bed and bathroom
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room was very spacious. Didn’t use the stovetop or oven in the room, but it’s definitely a nice option for meals. The key box option for obtaining your room key after office hours was also a very nice option for late arrivals. I would definitely stay there again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Late check in was easy peasy
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It is great for a fishing outing!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cozy spot near the Kenai. Affordable and very clean. Great option for families and fishermen alike! Highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Not their fault, but there was a power outage upon arrival, which was restored about 11 hours later. That resulted in no power or water. Bummer.
Awesome view from the front porch!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Old and not well maintained.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It didn’t feel the cleanest but was bare able. The coffee pot had coffees in it from the last guests.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I like the stovetop.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Owner was very friendly and the place was very comfortable!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beds were nice to sleep on and the room was clean and comfortable. Other than being close to the highway noise and no real place to eat within walking distance it was a very nice place for the money. There is a small grocery store right next door which was a plus. Friendly folks!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Owners were friendly
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was an old, cheap, and shabby little motel. Way too expensive.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great for what we needed - We booked this stay very last minute, deciding to delay our start to Resurrection Pass Trail by a day due to weather. We were a bit reluctant because of the so-so rating, but honestly, it was great for what we needed. It was clean, spacious, everything worked fine, and aside from the pillows, everything was quite comfortable. The room had a box fan in it and you could open the windows for the warmer summer days, since pretty much nothing has AC around the Kenai Peninsula. If we needed to stay here again, I’d be perfectly fine with that!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff was very welcoming and we had an enjoyable stay. The room was comfortable and the bed and floors were clean. It had a little musky smell, showing it's age and there was pink mold in the shower (anyone who has cleaned before knows it can happen) and the freezer and oven were dirty. We enjoyed our stay and were treated really well. We will be back. There was not cable at the time we were there, but there was internet with DVD player and smart TV so streaming netflix was easy and possible. The room had coffee, microwave, mini fridge & even a stove/oven combo. The room had a separate bedroom, which made an enjoyable separate sleeping space from the outer area. Plenty of hotwater for a nice shower.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It needs an update.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This place is a fraud. We booked 2 room with 3 beds each, for 159$ per room of July4-5. When we got there we were told that it is overbooked and there is only one room available. Instead he provided a cabin which has no bathroom and 4 meters away from the highway. This is totally his fault and we still accepted it. We waked up every minutes a car came by just to avoid dying outside of Alaska (only hotel available in 2 hours drive). And he agreed to credit 159 back to us and only charge for 1 room. But instead he charged more from us for 112 per room, which is unbelievable when we found it back from Alaska and check the bill online. He promised to charge only 159 but he charged (159 112)x2 from our card, which is totally a fraud.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - All good!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Was kind of old school but clean and courteous staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - A kitchen without even a spoon
