Guest Reviews
- Carly Clementine (10/5): -
- Isabel (10/5): - Fantastic hotel Everything was expetional
- Joseph (1/5): - The staff member Julia was rude and not helpful at all.
- Simon (7/5): Comfortable but expensive. - Welcoming staff, room clean and comfortable. Bathroom facilities very good. Heating and cooling of room very good. Complimentary snacks and lemon drizzle cake provided on arrival. Excellent location for visiting Blenheim Palace and Woodstock village. Not great value for money, especially as breakfasts are not included in the room rate and costs £25 pp to add on. Lots of excellent cafes in Woodstock offer more reasonable breakfast options.
Parking is a bit of a faff having to find the site, key in a code, open gates manually, drive in and park and then close gates manually both ways - arrival and departure.
- Maysell (9/5): Great location, staff, food and room and bathroom were of a high standard - Prior to check-in, the hotel reached out for names of guests and when I explained it eas a mother daughter weekend they very kindly offered to turn the room into twin beds for us. We didn't even have to ask. Very thoughtful. The staff at the hotel made the stay for us. Very personable, chatty and great advice about the surrounding area. Gorgeous evening meal and breakfast in the hotel. In particular evening meal was served by a young lady who did a 1st class job of efficient, friendly and the great skill of being very graceful whilst working quickly and efficiently. Free secure parking.
- CANDACE (10/5): Very friendly and helpful staff and a very welcoming place - Lovely Steep narrow stairs but part of the charm
- Eveline (10/5): Had a lovely stay in one of the suites. The hotel is so beautiful, as well as the rooms. - staff, breakfast, rooms, everything was just amazing! everything was amazing
- Jonathan (9/5): -
- 49389b85ccee729c3029d1f67dfef8e6 (9/5): Good location, great restaurant and comfortable room. - We did not have breakfast The bed was small and the room doors need a softer closing mechanism

- Catherine (8/5): A lovely hotel in a beautiful village, let down by a young staff who are far too casual. - The room was lovely, clean, and the free mini bar was well stocked. We booked a meal of the tasting menu at The Nest, in the hotel. It was excellent food. The hotel is well situated in the centre of Woodstock, just a short walk from one of the entrances to Blenheim Palace. The staff were very polite and helpful to guests but far too loud and chatty amongst themselves, even in front of guests waiting to be served at reception. In the morning, at 7am, leaving our room, we could hear them chatting in reception to each other all the way up the staircase. In the dining room, the plates were just ‘plonked’ down, the wine very nearly spilled as it sloshed in the glasses. Explanations of the tasting menu courses were garbled and short. The staff walked far too quickly past diners, making the whole area feel like a thoroughfare. It was such a shame. As a young staff, we felt that it wouldn’t have taken much just for them to be told to act more professionally in the guest areas, and the whole experience would have matched the surroundings.
One more point, the wine flight for the tasting menu should be upgraded as the standard of the food was far above the quality of the wines served with it.
- Julian (10/5): Idyllic - Beautifully appointed and well situated Nothing - it was lovely
- Sylvaine (10/5): -
- Talbot (9/5): Enjoyable break in Woodstock. - Lovely comfortable room. Nice piece of cake on arrival. Nice friendly, helpful staff. Great position in the village. Nothing
- Kate (7/5): - Everything at the Feathers was lovely. They even gifted us a bottle of processco as we were celebrating our 40th birthdays. The room was lovely and clean and the staff very welcoming. We found the beds to be on the hard side and the shower (water pressure amazing) did leak. Overall I would recommend this hotel but without breakfast included we found it to be slightly pricey. It also would have been nice if the fires were lit in the communal areas.
- Louby (10/5): -
- Michael (9/5): Great staff, especially Olga on front desk, and a beautifully laid out and equipped room. - Beautifully updated since my last visit, with tasteful touches yet retaining its charm
- Helen (8/5): -
- Debbie (10/5): Perfect stay in the Cotswolds! - Lovely stay… loved the decor… great staff… fabulous breakfast!! No dislikes
- Francoise (9/5): A extremely comfortable & relaxing weekend. - Very comfortable hotel with good atmosphere & decor.
Excellent restaurant
Lovely & helpful staff Nothing, everything was perfect.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Amazing stay in a beautiful hotel. No on site parking.
- JANE (8/5): Overall v good - Staff friendly
Excellent refurbished Stairs to room
- Richard (10/5): -
- Alastair (8/5): Very enjoyable - The receptionist was very kind and thoughtful and attentive The breakfast could have been better. Although there was a wedding party there for the weekend the breakfast was rushed for the other guests and the coffee wasn't good.
- Denise (8/5): -
- Christine (7/5): Nice but could have been better - Very comfy rooms with nice touches Little option for a relaxing drink post dinner. Looked as if options but both were monopolised by family group and 4 selfish men taking up the whole room. Staff not much help and sitting in the casual pizza restaurant with one other couple eating a shame.
- Adrian (8/5): Very nice independent hotel with a great restaurant - Location, we were visiting Blenheim Palace Parking is tricky and a bit hit and miss, if you’re lucky you’ll be able to get a space!
- Edwina (10/5): Perfect - Everything
- Stephen (7/5): We love the hotel, but food was awful - Modern, clean, comfortable All was good
- Stefania (9/5): -
- Rima (10/5): -
- Paula (10/5): If you want a magical stay , this is the place to be - The property was beautiful, we went with our son and his family and they even put a Christmas tree up for the grandchildren in there room. The staff , rooms , hotel, all wonderful. Nothing , it was perfect
- Marc (10/5): -
- Paul (10/5): -
- Richard (9/5): - everything was perfect nothing
- Mark (10/5): Could not have been better - A wonderful boutique hotel. The staff could not be more helpful. The rooms are big, the beds large and welcoming. And the location is perfect. A 10 minute walk from Blenheim Palace, a 20 minute drive from Oxford. Nothing
- Sandra (10/5): -
- Gary (10/5): -
- Richie (10/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): A wonderful venue, our room was the attic suite and this was exceptional. - Clean, warm and friendly No parking
- James (10/5): The hotel found out it was my birthday, and went out of their way to make sure that I had a special day. - Very close to Blenheim. Everything was great.
- Lara (10/5): Beautiful, quality and comfortable hotel. It was like staying ina luxurious home with wonderful service. - It had a perfect location in the beautiful village of Woodstock. I loved that the room was well kitted with quality products and personal touches. Nothing.
- leah (6/5): - Great location, lovely hotel and staff Bed was very uncomfortable, bathroom was drafty and could hear music into late hours.
- Stephen (8/5): Lovely stay, but would eat elsewhere. - Decor, ambience, room, bed and bed linen, the management and staff The lunch was good, but we ate in the main dining room in the evening and was disappointed with the choice of menu, the quality of produce and the quantity.
- Julia (10/5): We had a wonderful family weekend for my husband's 80th Birthday - The decoration and furnishings in the general areas. All very cosy with a feel for the history of the place.
The staff were so accommodating and our family dinner was excellent. Nothing really.
- jane (9/5): Lovely hotel. Beautifully decorated and excellent breakfast. - Lovely breakfast lots of stairs!
- Elizabeth (9/5): -
- Samantha (10/5): Can’t wait to come again! - Wonderful, warm, and cozy hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly, and made my birthday memorable. We stayed to visit Blenheim and celebrate my birthday. The property is only a short walk away from the palace. The hotel has a wonderful bar and the food at The Aviary was fabulous. NA
- david (1/5): Completely spoiled by the extortionate breakfast charge. - The room was adequate but at £250 pounds per night it should be! When I came to check out I was charged a further £50 for two 'breakfasts'. In fact I had had only 'continental' breakfasts consisting on each occasion of a single croissant and a cup of coffee. Does the hotel think it reasonable to make such a charge-daylight robbery. When I queried this extortion I was told it was because I had booked through Booking.com and that the charge would have been deleted had I booked directly with the hotel
- andrew (10/5): Outstanding hotel and restaurant in the perfect location - The whole hotel has been completely renovated and what was a charming but slightly quirky hotel is now an absolute gem! We have stayed here 4 or 5 times over the past 3 years or so and have witnessed the transformation! The hotel maintains all the old world charm of before but now the 2 new rooms we have stayed in were both spacious, very well equipped with really lovely bathrooms. The staff are really great and obviously love working here!
Special praise however goes for the restaurant ‘The nest’ - head chef Luke has been here all the time we have been coming here and the food is absolutely top notch! Even if you don’t stay here I would definitely recommend trying the restaurant - it’s excellent! Nothing
- Craig (10/5): -
- Pinar (9/5): A delightful stay in a spotless, well-located property with great service and lovely details. - The property was new, spotless, and in excellent condition. The Wi-Fi coverage was great, and we were able to stream on the TV without any issues. There were lovely thoughtful touches like lemon drizzle cakes and a retro radio playing classical music when we arrived. The staff were extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay. The location was perfect, right in the centre of Woodstock, close to charming village shops and cafés. Our bed could be bigger but other than that it was perfect.
- George (8/5): - Location, staff Shower leaked, nobody told us extra charge for dog, and breakfast wasn’t included so the bill at the end was abit of a shock! We was just told what tone breakfast is on check in.
- Sam (8/5): I stayed here a few weeks ago with my two dogs, it was fabulous, very luxurious and clean. It can be tricky when you tra - I loved the location, how clean it was, the furnishings and the food. Nothing major to add other than my room overlooked the courtyard that has outdoor speakers. At around 11pm whilst trying to sleep I could hear low bass from the speakers which was annoying after a while. I phoned reception and asked for the speakers outside to be turned off which was done straight away. The windows aren’t completely soundproof and thats fine but something to think about if you’re thinking of staying here for a quiet getaway, maybe in the summer when I imagine the courtyard would have several people outside.
- Richard (10/5): We just stayed for one night on a visit to Blenheim Palace. Lovely hotel and staff were very helpful and friendly. - Beautifully appointed Nothing
- Wilhelmus (10/5): - Friendly staff, a good restaurant and comfortable rooms
- DAVID (10/5): -
- Heinz (7/5): Ganz gute Leistung für den Preis. - Lage, Grösse und Ausstattung des Zimmers, Dauberkeit Musik von intern oder extern bis spät in die Nacht
- Fxye (9/5): Stunning decor, location and vibe - Beautiful rooms, extremely welcoming staff that went the extra mile. Stunning decor throughout. Really thoughtful touches Dog friendly rooms can be quite noisy. The car park is a walk away which isn't ideal if you have a lot of luggage or raining!
- Megan (10/5): -
- Fiona (10/5): The staff were very friendly and helpful, the venue is superb and the food was excellent - Very clean, beautiful decor, recently updated Nothing
- Jill (9/5): Excellent in all respects. - We celebrated a special occasion and everything was excellent!
- Sheila (10/5): -
- Thomas (9/5): -
- Darren (10/5): -
- Martin (10/5): - Great rooms, great location
- James (8/5): Upscale Cotswold village hotel - Attentive and friendly staff. Excellent room and factilities. Great location for Woodstock and Blenheim Palace. The recent work doen on the property is an improvement. Breakfast service was slow - admittedly due to staff shortages. Tables were a little cramed in so noisy atmopsphere.
- Claire (10/5): Lovely rooms, yummy breakfast, would recommend - Beautiful room, freshly decorated and very comfy bed, and loads of nice little touches like cake and toiletries. Nothing
- Jackie (9/5): Fabulous Hotel in a charming village, located centrally for easy access to Blenheim Palace - Loved its quirky features, fabulous bathroom and really comfy bed. Liked the complimentary cake in the bedroom on arrival and the welcoming and helpful staff. Great bar area too! Nothing
- Fran (10/5): - Beautiful building, elegant . Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. It was very expensive to have a drink in the bar, would have liked to relax and have a couple of drinks and a bite to eat but just found prices too expensive!!
- Sophie (8/5): -
- David (9/5): - Great location as a base for exploring the Cotswolds.
Breakfast was really good.
- Andrew (9/5): Fantastic location and top class accommodation - Very clean and comfortable
- Richard (10/5): -
- Tsering (10/5): Classy, cosy and friendly hotel - Lovely cosy and well designed hotel with great spaces to relax when in such a small area. Located within the beautiful Woodstock setting and providing beautiful service and food in the restaurant. Super friendly and welcoming staff. Really enjoyed our stay! Only a small downside with parking being difficult but we found the free carpark nearby as a sufficient option.
- Annebel (8/5): - Personeel is bekwaam en zeer vriendelijk Geluidsisolatie van de straat
- Andrea (9/5): Elegant and practical with 5* bathrooms and bedroom facilities - Excellent quality linen, towels and bathroom toiletries - spacious rooms
- Laura (10/5): - Absolute gem, would happily return
- Jarrold (9/5): - Extremely clean and comfortable nothing
- Denise (8/5): Lovely hotel with very friendly staff and delicious food! - Very clean, bright welcoming reception area and helpful staff.
Food really good. Room was quite small, particularly the bathroom. Had to manoeuvre around the door to get to the shower!
Stairs a bit steep and winding in places.
- JULIE (9/5): - Stylish and very comfortable hotel. Attentive staff and delicious breakfast.
- Oti (10/5): -
- GrandTour06979667285 (10/5): Beautiful hotel - Beautiful hotel and stylish room. Stayed in Feature Room. Very comfortable bed and lovely furnishings. Very friendly and very helpful staff. Loved the complimentary cake. Room overlooking local pub was noisy until 12 as people were sat outside.
Would love to stay again but would choose room away from pub.
- Kenneth (10/5): A beautiful hotel in a beautiful village run by attentive and friendly staff who made my stay most delightful. - The hotel was beautifully decorated and finished with lovely touches in terms of artwork on walls, furnishings and even the serving ware and cutlery. All very tasteful and subtle. It’s a small thing but a lift would be great but my case wasn’t heavy so it didn’t cause any trouble to walk up the stairs.
- Emma (9/5): Just what we had hoped for after a very long days walking -
- Amanda (10/5): -
- james (9/5): Excellent stay in an immaculate room - Stayed in a feature suite and it was an impressive room top end of the price band for a provincial hotel but worth it for a treat
- carolebH4567NW (10/5): First class experience - We had two really excellent nights here. The hotel is in an old building but it’s had a fantastic makeover so it has all modern comforts - apart from a lift. But the really welcoming staff insisted on carrying our bags up the stairs. In the room was a hand written welcome note and some delicious lemon drizzle cake. The contents of the mini bar were also on the house. Everything has been thought about and every need catered for. And unlike a lot of old hotels it has excellent air con. Unfortunately we missed out on experiencing the Nest restaurant, as it currently only operates Wednesday to Sunday, but we shall definitely make a point of returning. Breakfasts were superb. The staff were, without exception, lovely. Absolutely first class hotel.
- susan (9/5): We would not hesitate to stay here if we were in or near the area again. - The staff on arrival (and by telephone as I had some questions before arriving) were very very welcoming, helpful , smiling and very genuine. Could not have been nicer. The room was really inviting with some nice touches like nice tea and coffee, and cake on arrival. The aircon was very good (it was a hot day!). Bed very comfortable. Lighting good and not overcomplicated! nothing really
- Clarityallround (10/5): Superbly renovated luxurious hotel in a prime location - We took advantage of their B&B Blenheim package and stayed two nights in the attic suite. On arrival we received a very warm, hospitable welcome and it already felt like a 5 star experience.
The hotel has been fully renovated and the attention to detail is second to none, and easily up there with the cleanest hotels we've stayed in.
The attic suite was very spacious and had everything you needed, to include a fridge with complimentary drinks, a pleasant welcome note, a bowl of fresh fruit, some homemade cake and a very comfortable bed. Also worth a mention is the room included very efficient air conditioning (that came in handy during this hot spell).
We dined at the Nest restaurant on one evening, the service and food quality was top draw, certainly worthy of the 2 AA rosettes.
The outside space (the Aviary and terrace) was so relaxing and comfortable and with a Pizzeria for the lighter bites.
The location in the market square is perfect, multiple lovely shops and pubs, and you can walk to Blenheim gates in 10 mins !
Overall, excellent value for money and I would recommend this hotel.
- David (10/5): -
- Paula (9/5): -
- David (9/5): Amazing and will return - Staff were amazing and our room was outstanding This is very picky, but I was disappointed with the breakfast....for me it was very greasy.....so sorry to say
- Christine (10/5): Absolutely amazing place to stay - faultless - Beautiful hotel, staff were so friendly and helpful. Big shout out to Mandy and team on reception. They really go the extra mile and gave such a warm welcome and check out. There is nothing we didn’t like. Everything was first class, clean and beautifully decorated. Great food and ambience.
- Jenny (10/5): Fab stay - The pre checkin email. The welcome note and cake in the room. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. The amenities in the room were of a very good standard. Nothing
- Joanna (9/5): Excellent - Delicious breakfast The dining room was a little cramped.
- Nicholas (8/5): Fantastic hotel and great food - we will return - Location and interior Garden courtyard could have been better designed as too many tables but not many seats
