I enjoyed overlooking the harbor from my room and the Hot Tub and Steam room were a lovely addition. I didn’t meet the hosts in person but they were great to communicate with over messages and very responsive and friendly.

Bathroom is part of room so lacks privacy, coffee and tea kettles had (how old??) water in them and when I texted owners about milk, they advised they didn’t supply. This is an Airbnb. Sauna and hot tub are great but small to share with all other guests.

We especially appreciated the sauna. Everything was great. I think the bathroom fan was out of order in our suite ( top floor #2), so we used the window to let steam escape.

- Rizwan (10/5): Romantic place in the heart of town - We liked the way access to the unit was set up - easy and secure. The unit was also located at the back of the Inn facing the internal courtyard. Also liked the furnishings - obviously, a lot of thought had gone into the interior decoration. The information in the folder was quite helpful in understanding what amenities were nearby. A bit noisy at night from the unit above us. It would also have been handy to have had a small broom to clean the floor of fall leaves.

It was cute and cozy, & quite clean and fresh smelling (except for some old pizza sauce spray on the kitchen wall- lol) There were robes and flip flops for the walk to the hottub and sauna - which was great ! The parking wasn’t ok for a big truck - it was steep and gravel and tight spots - but we figured it out 😁

We let them know in advance that it was a special trip, and the staff were friendly and welcoming when we arrived. They left a lovely note acknowledging our baby moon and congratulations :) The room was clean, cozy, and comfortable — a great spot to relax. Unfortunately, our first night was a bit disappointing due to noisy neighbors who were up until about 2am making a fair amount of noise inside and outside. It made it hard to get the rest we were really hoping for, especially since this trip was meant to be a peaceful getaway before the baby arrives, and the Inn states a no noise after 10pm request of guests. What was disappointing was my husband having to be the initiator to go and ask the group next to our room (we were in the Queen Suite main floor at the back, #5) at 2am to please let us sleep as this had been going on for quite some time. The rest of our stay was enjoyable, but the noise that first night did leave us with mixed feelings, hence the 3 stars. For the price we paid for 2 nights, we were not expecting it to be a “party space” location. Still, it’s a lovely place overall and location — just something to consider if you’re looking for a very quiet stay.

- craigfB6005MX (10/5): Stay in Paradise - The location? Perfect. Close to the harbour, many coffee, breakfast and other dining options all within walking distance. The building and property? Perfection. Quiet and exactly as described in the advertisement they have posted. The hot tub was clean. The room we had (suite 4), was quaint, clean and had everything we could need for our short stay in Ucluelet. Parking is on gravel. We came out here on touring bikes and with the steep driveway (concrete), we weren’t able to park on the property itself. However parking on the street in front was free and we were not bothered by it. There is no air conditioning, so be ready to open windows for a cross breeze to cool things off at night. Baseboard heaters worked well to bring the temp up once the night cooled it off. Overall, we were exceptionally happy with our stay and the accommodations provided.

The bed was soooo comfortable. The self-entry keypad was a snap and the owners left a sweet welcome note with contact info in case I needed anything. The location was walking distance to the grocery store, several restaurants and coffee shops. A great choice in Ucluelet! The parking area can get crowded if they're all booked up, but there is also street parking. Nothing bad to say about this inn.

Karina was very helpful in directing us to our suite and guiding us through the self checking. She even helped to take our baggage to our suite. We walked into the suite and were blown away! So beautiful and welcoming. Everything was there for our three nights stay, enough toiletries and bath supplies. This is a perfect place for young and old couples. I would highly recommend the Francis Boutique Hotel!

Check-in is done remotely but the reception was extremely communicative and responsive. The additional amenities of a sauna and a hot tub felt as a luxury that really elevated our experience. Overall a memorable accomodation that we would love to visit again along with recommending it.

- Van (8/5): Well situated, clean, and cute holiday suite. - The welcome email we were sent with directions, activities, and places to eat was awesome and very helpful. Bed was very comfortable. Suite was very clean and well maintained. When we had a question, Karina was very quick to come up and help us. The towels were very hard and actually hurt your skin. The welcome email noted that Netflix was on Telus channel 422. However, there were no telus channels and Netflix was through the Samsung remote. Telus remote statement should be removed, as it is confusing. There were quite a few hairs on the pillows. However, they looked clean and I wonder if it was transfered from headboard.

- Erin (10/5): A perfect home base to explore from! - We stayed in a King Suite and it was a perfect little apartment with everything we needed to be comfortable- two adults and a teen. The hot tub and sauna were amazing to come back to after a day of exploring the rainy beaches and forests. Ucluelet is an adorable town. We will stay here again on our next trip to the area.

- Lisa (9/5): Quiet, cozy, and convenient - Location was perfect. Room was clean and comfy. Beds were lovely. Self check-in was easy and convenient. Slippers were provided if you wanted to head to the sauna/hot tub, which was a nice touch. Some of the plug-ins didn't work, so we had to try a few out. Wasn't a big issue though, we had enough power.

- Val (8/5): Very good - Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Excellent location. We booked for 2 adults and our 16 yr old daughter. Once her disabled was unfolded there was very little room to move. The dining table was rather squashed in a corner. It would have been great for just the 2 adults however!

- Mark (7/5): Good - Place was clean, great shower, close to good restaurants, walking trails. We didn't bring swimsuits so didn't get a chance to use the hot tub and sauna, both of which look great. Most people who go to Ucluelet don't go to watch TV, but in our late 70's we appreciate it when Netflix, Prime and other streaming services are available, and this place has lots of them. Mattress was a bit lumpy and softer than we are used to. Most of the lighting was in clear glass, making the light really sharp and uncomfortable.
- Angelicb21 (10/5): Our stay at the Francis was truly wonderful! - Our stay at the Francis was truly wonderful! We stayed in the King Apartment, and it felt just like home. My husband and I had everything we needed to make ourselves comfortable. The little kitchen was fully equipped, and the bathroom was both cozy and recently renovated. The living room, complete with a fireplace, was very inviting. They will send you a video showing how everything works in the room. We also enjoyed having a private balcony with chairs and a table, perfect for enjoying coffee and breakfast outdoors. The bathtub was great—very clean and comfortable. The space provided us with plenty of privacy, and the sauna was new, easy to use, and private as well. After spending a couple of nights there, I felt incredibly relaxed. The price is fantastic for the value! The Francis is located right in the heart of Ucluelet, making it easy to walk to shops, breweries, and restaurants without needing a car. I highly recommend this hotel!
- Gerry (7/5): Good - They have created unrealistic expectations by describing the hotel ad "luxurious" and "boutique". It is neither but does provide a perfectly satisfactory, if ordinary, hotel room in a converted house. A note on the wall suggested imminent reservations so perhaps worth watching. They got the little things mostly right but have missed on an overall concept.

- Ella (10/5): Excellent outdoor spa facilities and lovely micro flat - Well-kitted out living space, bathroom, and bedroom. Large and comfortable bed with good quality bedding. Complimentary bottle of wine kindly provided. Hot tub was wonderful and warm, sauna had a lovely window so you could see the surrounding green, and robes and sandals provided in the room. Asked for the sofa bed to be set up on my arrival - the request was forgotten (I did book a long while in advance). Host came to remedy the issue on the day. Wouldn't attempt any serious cooking as there's only a hob top and no dishwasher.
- stoffer (6/5): Location fine. - I don't know what a "Boutique Inn" is, but for me The Francis was just a room -no more. We did not meet anybody - all communication was online. The room in first floor was huge and nice and with a harbour view ( partly). There is no walk in shower - it's in a bathtub and the whole bathroom is connected to the room - open area. Toilet is of course in a room, but the shower just behind a curtain. Coffee/tea maker , fridge etc. Lovely huge bed. Everything fine. No breakfast - you had to go downtown - five minutes of BYO in Coop which we did on the second day. Ucluelet is very nice and cosy - If I come back I will stay at other place where I meet people at breakfast as in a b&b, small hotel etc.
- 321bruces (10/5): Perfect - This was the perfect place to relax and unwind. Accommodation was beautiful, clean and comfortable and it was great to be able to do our own breakfasts after a week or so in a hotel. Very handy for harbour, pub, restaurants and local walks. In our multi centre holiday this was a great place to rest and recharge.
- Linda (10/5): Great house in good location ! - Big clean room. huge bed, great big TV with Netflix. big bath. lots of windows with great fly nets so you could have great fresh air. easy walk to bars and restaurants. good looking property with lovely view to harbour from number three. good parking out front on drive. good lighting. sauna and hot tub in back garden if wanted. lovely bottle of quality wine left for us!! lovely touch!! nothing to dislike about this one!!

- Greg (10/5): - This is a lovely property, both inside our suite and outside in the grounds. Our suite was very tastefully decorated, and fully furnished for an extended stay with kitchen items, robes, etc. We loved our stay here!

- Cathy (9/5): Amazing stay in Ucluelet - The Inn was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The location was super for the many nearby restaurants and walking trails. Tofino was a 30 minute drive and the sights along the way are worth the visit. Hot tub and sauna were lovely. Just missing plastic cups if you wanted a drink by the hot tub.
- Roger (7/5): Short trip to enjoy the west coast of Vancouver Island. - A nice well appointed suite with a small area to sit outside. Good location close to stores and restaurants. Enjoyed the hot tub. No customer contact. No room service in the way of automatically replacing towels, refreshing the bathroom, replenishing coffee etc. it is basically self serve accommodation. The extensive booking.com suite description is in parts inaccurate. The view is not of the garden but the parking lot with a partial view of the harbour between buildings. Landmark? It says there is a safe - none we could find.
