- Curious544900 (4/5): Not The Hotel Of Your Dreams - This Hotel has the appearance of a 5 Star Hotel but in actuality, it does not deserve its 5 Star Rating, I’ve traveled to third world country hotels that had better service and customer support than this Hotel. First off, I’m a Cig Smoker and they make no effort to educate themselves on where you can smoke around the area (this hotel does not have any floor for smoking or lounge of any sort, which is surprising for such a “grand” looking hotel) Don’t lecture to me about the smoking laws in Seoul, I Stayed at a 3 Star Hotel Prior to staying here that had a Literal Roof Top access for smokers (G2 Hotel). Second off, the food is awful in the Room Service sense. The food was sort of tasteless. I often wonder if places like this even have their chefs taste the food before they serve it? Apparently not. I ordered a French Onion Soup the first day I got there and I was full blown exhausted, it was a Burnt French Onion Soup, I ate it regardless cause I was out of it but is it so difficult to make a French Onion Soup? A test I like to do in every Hotel I stay at that has Room Service, I like to ask for something simple that isn’t on their Menu like a Milk Shake to see if they will accommodate my extra needs (plus I really like MilkShakes) & this hotel could not muster simple ingredients to accomplish this, which is quite sad. Thirdly, if you have problems with altitude or going up really high at extreme speeds, do not go to this hotel. It is almost extremely common for people to have discomfort and even pain whenever they are ascending or descending the elevator. It’s a very fast elevator, which is good if you don’t have time, but will definitely be extremely uncomfortable for people who have a sensitivity to that kind of thing. Plus the between getting to your room and outside is approx 7 mins which is extremely annoying hence me being a smoker or someone who has to leave the hotel or even if you just forgot something in your room. If they would have invested in a Slow moving elevator that doesn’t give you altitude sickness I would have taken that elevator every time. Fourthly, for a Hotel on this supposed caliber god forbid they invest in some English tutors for their Staff, you know you have a problem when the literal Receptionists or Staff for that matter cannot speak clear English. There is no point in telling your concerns to people who cannot understand you, why should I use a translator app to communicate when it’s firstly just tedious using a translator app to communicate and secondly for this caliber of Hotel they should be use to International guests who only speak English. Let’s talk about what was good with this Hotel. The porters outside are good at what they do when it comes to getting a taxi with ease for your required destinations. The bartenders at the Bar 81 I think it was called, they make a real effort to make you a drink that you want to drink, if it’s not good at first they will do their best with their little English vocabulary to make you a drink you enjoy. The view after you suffer altitude sickness is wonderful too. I did not bring up any of these points with Hotel staff because I was just too fed up with my stay there. Not that it would matter anyways since no one really understands you there. At least here you can get a real take on this Hotel for those that really understand the words written here.

- S7112PGdavidg (8/5): Outstanding hotel …..but - The Signiel hotel is a beautiful hotel. We are currently staying here for 7 nights . Room is perfect with outstanding views . Hotel is exceptionally well maintained. Room and public areas are extremely clean and very well serviced . Service is excellent . Our only complaint is that we are vegetarians and when we approached the restaurants , they would not accommodate any special requests for changes . We were told the menus could not be altered at all . This is very disappointing and surprising for a hotel at this level . We travel worldwide and top hotels always can make accommodations. Unfortunately, over our entire stay , we had to search out other restaurants.

- 684anderss (2/5): We came back — and it was a complete disaster - Seven years ago, we stayed at Signiel Seoul and were truly impressed. It was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. This time, it was the opposite — chaotic, indifferent, and utterly disappointing. Check-in was a mess, there was no one at the front desk, and even our luggage was left unattended. We were forced to choose a breakfast time after long travel, only to wait over 30 minutes to be seated. The room was poorly prepared — no turndown service, and after a sleepless night I found the pillows had been placed the wrong way around. Breakfast ends at 10 a.m. on a weekend, checkout is 11, and “late checkout” is noon. Everything feels built for staff convenience, not guest comfort. We returned because we remembered how perfect it once was — the care, the elegance, even the small things like the fresh mango sliced in the room. All of that is gone. What remains is a hollow imitation of luxury. From the moment I made my reservation, the restaurant staff stayed in touch on emails and took care of every detail. They were so accommodating, making sure every dietary restriction and request was handled perfectly. I even booked a special cake for my husband, which they arranged beautifully. The moment we entered the restaurant, we were mesmerised by the breathtaking view. We were given a lovely table and couldn’t stop admiring the beauty around us. The dinner itself was excellent. Since I wanted gluten-free and vegetarian options, a dish was customised just for me, and even the gluten-free bread was delicious. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal as well. Post dinner, guests were treated to an open dessert counter with plenty of sweet treats, and the macarons were a highlight. The hotel itself is stunning, soaring high above the city with the most sophisticated interiors and an understated luxury vibe that makes every corner photo-worthy. It feels special just being there. Kudos to Chef Yannick’s team for curating such memorable dishes and to the wonderful hospitality staff who made the evening so special. De toute façon vous avez le lounge qui est côté fleuve. Le lounge propose des softs et des petites friandises pour faire un en-cas avec une vue magnifique. Le lit était très grand, tout était propre et confortable. La seule déception est la piscine : petite par rapport à la taille de l hôtel et très commune. Le personnel est très serviable et souriant. Vous ́e regretterez pas le budget dépensé.

- Verified traveler (6/5): - I had a very disappointing experience at the Evening Delight. When I checked in, I was told it would be available from 5 PM to 10 PM, so I planned to visit at 7:30 PM. However, I was informed there was a waiting list and that by the time I got in, there would be no champagne left. This was frustrating but I decided to wait, and I finally entered at 8 PM—only to find that all the snacks were already cleared out. Still, I tried to enjoy my time, but starting from 8:10 PM, staff began loudly moving wine boxes and carts at the counter making it impossible to relax. The atmosphere felt rushed and unwelcoming as if they wanted guests to leave as soon as possible. I ended up leaving at 8:30 PM feeling completely disappointed. If the service practically ends by 8 PM, guests should be informed at check-in. There’s no point in advertising it as available until 10 PM if food and drinks run out early and the staff starts cleaning up loudly.

- i0kan (8/5): Not what I expected - People chose a hotel for different reasons. I chose the Signiel for the expected view, the luxury was merely an extra. Because I was there for the view, I expected full 360 degrees, but no such thing. Together, the lobby, restaurant and lounge offer a bit over 180 degrees of view, but one side of Seoul was never visible from great height for me. In my room I expected a welcome package with binoculars and a sheet explaining what was in the view from the room, but again no such thing. In fact, the windows were somewhat dirty making it hard to take clear pictures from the room. Also, the light colours of the windowsill and other elements reflect in the windows, making it harder to take good pictures at night. The windowsill is large, but not large enough to comfortably sit on and enjoy the view. Another thing I didn't expect (but should have on hindsight): it is a hassle to get from street level to a room on the 90-something-th floor. The first elevator takes about 40 seconds to go to the 80-something-th floor and my ears popped every time; up and down, taking several minutes to restore normal hearing. From the lobby one uses another elevator to go to the room level, which again takes some time. Getting a smoothie in the mall at the ground floor is quite an undertaking! So instead of views or convenience it is all about luxury at the Signiel. The staff is polite and helpful. Language skills were good. The restaurant / room service offers a very good vegan breakfast, as well as a vegan sandwich. The rooms are spacious and luxurious, but one obviously pays for the location because comparable rooms in a regular building are much cheaper. Also, I wasn't impressed with the cleanliness. There was a nasty brown spot on the ceiling above the bath. The rug on the floor was downright dirty, being off white / ivory around the bed and desk (places less walked on) and brown in the middle. I would not even accept such a dirty rug at home, but at the Signiel I paid between 500 and 800 euros per night to stay in a room with it! In conclusion: the Signiel is not bad in any way, but it is not what I expected. Other hotels offer at least as much luxury and service at a lower price, so I thought I paid for the view. However, there's a good 180 degrees of Seoul I never got to see / photograph from great height. Also, the height turned out to be a hassle. Going up and down takes a lot of time and makes ones ears pop. To the Signiel hotel: please don't reply by saying "sorry for the dirty room, stay with us again and we'll do better". That is saying: we made a mistake, please pay us once more and we'll do better. That's not an excuse, but marketing.

My room was above the clouds and was very comfortable and luxurious. The view was incredible. The service was very good and I had access to the private lounge where I could eat and drink snacks. The hotel is located above a Mall and Metro station. Everything was very easy and practical.

- cassmjryu (10/5): The main draw: Once in a lifetime experience - I have been coming to Korea quite often lately, due to family circumstances, but this time I got to celebrate my best friend's birthday together in Seoul which I have not been able to do for the last 17 years since I left. Since I need a hotel anyway, why not, try this FHR deal that gives me a complementary third night at Signiel Seoul with breakfast included? My best friend lives in Jamsil, literally five minutes away from the hotel, so it's easy for her to come visit and enjoy the hotel as much as she wants. I had high expectations for this stay, and my stay exceeded my expectations! As a lot of us who fly from LA and get dropped off in Seoul early in the morning, I did not expect that I would be able to check in rightaway. However, I did ask if I can find a facility to shower, before starting on a grueling day of scheduled business I had to go through. The hotel let me use their shower facility at the pool, and took care of my luggage while I went about my day to take care of my business. The room I had was very spacious, with separate seating area right at the foot of my bed, and the breathtaking views looking out the western direction overlooking the river, which was perfect for what I wanted. The breathtaking view continued into the spacious bathroom with double sinks and a separate vanity area, as well as the shower/bath area overlooking out to the same view. Unlimited Evian, folks. I needed to drink lots of water and this was definitely helpful. I did put my friend on as one of the guests, and she did provide her ID to prove that it was indeed her birthday. They did bring us this gorgeous cake, perfect for 2 people to thoroughly enjoy. The included breakfast was great! I even had my friend's mom as well as her little kiddo come and enjoy it together for one day. Her mom was so impressed with the view, she ended up coming later to hang out at the lounge. I really appreciated that the lounge was for everyone, but also wish they had a bit more variety of snacks. Their tea selection was amazing. I did use the fitness facilities, but I preferred going outside and actually going for a run around the lake in front. The gym does not open until 6AM but even at 5AM, there were plenty of people run/walking around the lake so it felt safe. On the last day of my stay, I had to be out all day to take care of business. I told my friend to enjoy the hotel stay for me while I was gone, and since I got a 4PM late checkout, she got to thoroughly enjoy the stay till 4. I was unable to make it back by 4PM, and I was hoping they will just take care of everything without me having to return to the hotel, but they were unable to process the credit card cancellation for incidentals without my AMEX physically being there. Therefore I had to return to the hotel to wrap up the actual checkout processing, which was the only one downside to my entire stay. Once you get used to this luxurious hotel stay, no other hotels are going to be good enough! It took a while for me to get used to my second hotel... that was not fun! It looks like the main draw to the hotel is, indeed, the folks who stay there for one night trying to get that once in a lifetime experience. Some with their parents also. I don't blame them. For someone who lived half of my life in Korea, I did not want to leave the hotel since it was so nice to just relax and zone out with the view.
- amsterdamnyc (4/5): Five-Star Facade: The Disappointing Truth of The Signiel Seoul - I would like to share my feedback on a recent stay at The Signiel Seoul Hotel. I booked a Deluxe One Bedroom Suite King River View, one of their most expensive options, for four nights, using my Visa Premium Credit Card. As a Visa Premium Card holder, I anticipated premium benefits, including: - Complimentary breakfast for two - $25 USD food or beverage credit - Automatic room upgrade upon arrival, when available - Complimentary in-room Wi-Fi, when available - Late check-out upon request, when available - VIP guest status - Best available rate guarantee My expectations were high for my stay at the world’s fifth-tallest skyscraper and the country’s first purported "seven-star hotel" (a concept that, in reality, no longer exists). Unfortunately, my disappointment began immediately upon arrival. The check-in process was marred by unfriendly staff and excessive delays. Despite no other guests being around and arriving during the early evening—an ostensibly less busy time—I had to wait nearly 30 minutes to check in. During this wait, I wasn’t even offered a glass of water, let alone the complimentary glass of champagne that was being served that time to suite guests right next door. The disappointment continued when I discovered that I had not received the promised “room upgrade upon arrival, when available.” Upon inquiring about an upgrade to the next category, I was informed that a Premium Suite was available for an additional $250 per night. As a Visa Premium Card holder, I am entitled to an automatic room upgrade upon arrival when available, and the very next category was available—the hotel did not seem particularly busy. When I asked why I had to pay for the upgrade, I was curtly told, “Because you reserved Deluxe, you are receiving Deluxe. If you would like to upgrade, there is no free upgrade, only for an additional charge.” I also inquired about the possibility of obtaining a suite on a higher floor but was not accommodated. I was assigned the lowest floor and the smallest suite at the hotel. To confirm, I asked, “So, I’m not receiving any room upgrades?” The response was, “Sorry, sir, you are not.” Further inquiries confirmed that I was indeed receiving the smallest suite, which did not match the photos on the hotel’s website—presumably because if it were shown, no one would book it for the price. I requested an alternative suite, not wanting to be forced into the only option in such a large hotel, but again I was told, “Sorry, sir, but this is the only suite we have in your category.” This is hardly the response and service one expects from a five-star hotel. In hindsight, I regretted not booking Four Seasons Hotel, which I had initially chosen. I opted for this hotel anticipating better views and a superior experience, especially with my choice of a river view suite and the additional Visa Premium Card benefits. I never imagined I would regret my choice upon arrival. This experience has taught me not to experiment with unfamiliar brands, as it can be an expensive mistake both financially and in terms of experience. I would not have been disappointed if I had been politely informed, “We are very sorry, but we are fully booked and cannot offer you an upgrade at this time, even though you should receive one.” However, being told that other suites were available, including in the same category and the next category—Premium River View Suite—as long as I paid an additional $250 per night, felt like a low blow. I should have received an upgrade without having to ask, especially when the hotel was not heavily booked. I later confirmed with the staff at the lounge and pool/sauna that the hotel was not busy. The check-in experience is crucial in shaping a guest's impression of the hotel. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. The staff member at the check-in counter was unfriendly and did nothing to make me feel welcome. In addition to the check-in experience, there are several other areas for improvement. For example, the breakfast options lacked variety, with the same dishes served daily without any changes. While it is common for five-star hotels to offer the same breakfast daily, they typically rotate a few dishes to provide variety for guests staying more than two or three days. The lounge was also disappointing. The beverages served, such as wine and champagne, were at room temperature. The pre-poured wine and champagne glasses were flat and worm from standing out too long. When I asked why they pre-poured so many glasses of champagne early and served them flat and warm, I was told that most guests are Asian and very impatient, not liking to wait for anything, including for wine or champagne to be poured. This explanation was quite shocking. The food offerings were basic, repetitive snacks like pretzels, nuts, and cookies. Another issue was the indoor pool/sauna. When I inquired about using the sauna, I was escorted to the locker/change room to prepare. However, upon entering the sauna room, I noticed a large bucket in front of the door and an “out of service” sign. Why was I not informed about this during check-in? I went back to the changing room, and on my way out, sarcastically thanked the desk staff for the “unforgettable sauna experience.” A week later, I stayed at another 5-star hotel—The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon—what a contrast. If The Signiel Management needs help and direction to improve their five-star hospitality, they should learn from the leaders like The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon. Personally, I do not believe they will ever come close, but they should try. In conclusion, this was a disappointing experience. The Signiel Seoul does not live up to the five-star standard it purports to be. The staff are untrained, lack knowledge, often have poor English communication skills, and the management's presence is not visible at the hotel. Apart from the hotel’s design and the fabulous views, this is not a five-star hotel. I would never stay there again and will not recommend it to anyone for more than one night if they desire a high floor with a beautiful room design and a nice view of Seoul. Next time, I will choose the Four Seasons, which never disappoints.
- Tatiana_MME (10/5): Signiel Hotel Seoul - Would like to express my thoughts about my stay at the Signiel Hotel in Seoul. It’s a true unparalleled luxury. Reminded me so much of our Burj Khalifa in Dubai. From the moment I stepped into the grand lobby, was a bit shocked in a good way with tall handsome male stuff. Elizaveta, the Russian-speaking receptionist, added an exceptional touch to the experience. As I am a Russian-speaker myself, feel instantly at home in Signiel. She showed me around the hotel, spa and all facilities. So I could advise later this hotel to my friends and partners from Dubai. Regarding the rooms. They are nothing short of spectacular with panoramic views of the city from the Lotte World Tower. Elegantly furnished, each detail reflects sophistication. Korean Suit is very authentic and outstanding. The extensive spa and wellness facilities are perfect for relaxation. Fine dining options also are so good. Looking forward for my next stay there.

- peungnoi (10/5): Beyond the expectation - The highest tower&hotel in South Korea. Amazing view&atmosphere. Service was impecable,since the doorman til the housekeeping service. I was on the90th floor and I didn't expect all the service delivered to the room would be this fast. Like you only need to wait no longer than 10minutes for the requested service to arrive. Been to many 6stars all over the World but Signiel Seoul really go beyond my expextation.

- PJCSF (10/5): Wonderful Hotel - Stayed here 3 nights and had one of the best hotel stays ever. We booked through Amex FHR. Aria checked us in and was very helpful and friendly. All our benefits were explained and honored. Our room had a river view and scenic bath on the 97th floor. The room was sparkling and luxurious. The view was amazing and we watched the sunrise from our room every morning. The only thing that could have made it better was if it had a double sink. Apparently, not all rooms have that. The parking was easy and plenty. We initially had a hard time finding the entrance to the hotel from the parking lot as it was a big shopping mall. I would highly recommend the mall to kill a few hours. The breakfast buffet was amazing. We went there early every morning and got the window seats. I don't think it ever got crowded at all when were were there. The view in combination with the food was just amazing. The omelette was tasty and looks perfect. The service was excellent, not only at the restaurant but throughout our stay. The snack at the Salon was not great, but there is a good selection of drinks. It is a great place to escape after a long day of outing. They stay open until 10pm too. One thing that stood out for us is how fully staffed this hotel is. They are everywhere to greet you and serve you. Amazing! The location is a little far away from the tourist area (about 35 minutes drive) but close to Gangnam (15 minutes drive). The attached mall is well worth the visit as well as the Observatory in the building. The glass floor and view is a must see. Overall, it was an excellent experience with exception service. This is a hotel that we will re-visit again in a heart beat the next time we are in Seoul!
