• Sandy (9/5): Quiet restful and laidback - Great location. Like stepping back in time to how holidays used to be. Beautiful place to relax and do nothing except swim and read. The meals were cooked to perfection and we loved our lazy lunchtime breakfasts. Thanks to the staff for making us feel so welcome

• Arjen (8/5): Bamboo Bungalows is one of the best places to stay on the island; great price/quality sundowns - Central place at the beach with wide variety surfboard rental, great bar/restaurant and very kind staff. Menu has wide variety, coffee is good are the fruit shakes/juices/lassi's. Nothing really. (I could go on about potential more huts with aircon as during Songkran its very hot, but that opens a whole new can of worms on noise and electricity useage... the point about Ko Payam is that it's so quiet, peaceful, nicely laid back and unpresumptious)

Tag 2 Flaschen Trinkwasser im Zimmer. Unüblich, normalerweise gibt es jeden Tag 2 Flaschen. Toilettenpapier auf Nachfrage und selber holen. Keine Seife und nur ein kleines Fläschchen Shampoo, obwohl Pflegeprodukte bei der Beschreibung aufgeführt sind. Zimmerservice auch nur jeden 3. Tag. Kein Kühlschrank

Ich hatte einen Bungalow direkt am Strand. Wunderbare Aussicht. Das Meer ist wunderschön und sehr flach. Ideal für Kinder. Das Essen ist vorzüglich. Bei Koko ( Managerin) kann man auch Essen bestellen, die nicht auf der Karte stehen. Alles sehr, sehr gut. Die Crew ist so freundlich, da fühlt man sich wie in einer kleinen Familie. Ich würde auf jeden Fall gerne mal wieder kommen. Es gehören einige Sachen renoviert (Wie die Strandliegen und die Terrasse)

Der Bungalow ist für diesen Preis nicht zu empfehlen, das ist wirklich viel zu teuer Sehr unbequeme Sitzmöbel auf der Terrasse( andere hatten durchaus andere Sitzplätze),der einzige Lichtblick war die Hängematte

• Taylor (6/5): - The beach and the location. The hut was a tiny hot ( no a/c) shack with a small bed. Also lots of mosquitos plaguing the front porch.. No fridge in the room and one only electrical outlet.. Shower was cold water only. In fairness we should have checked the details before booking as there was no misrepresentation on the part of the hotel in the ad . We were glad to leave.

• Ulrike (8/5): Unvergesslicher Aufenthalt mit kleinen Schönheitsfehlern. Wir empfehlen das Bamboo Resort auf jeden Fall weiter. - Schöne Unterkunft in traumhafter Lage. Die Zimmer haben bequeme Betten, sind schön eingerichtet und sind sehr sauber. Unser Zimmer hatte ein Openair- Badezimmer. Die kleine Terrasse ist angenehm schattig. Das Restaurant liegt direkt am Strand, schöner kann man kaum sitzen. Das Essen ist zwar etwas teurer aber sehr gut. Herzlichen Dank an auch an Coco, die Chefin, die immer ansprechbar ist und sich um alles kümmert! Leider konnte das Warmwasser an der Dusche nicht reguliert werden. Das Wasser war entweder sehr heiß oder kalt. Beim Service im Restaurant gibt es noch viel Luft nach oben. Meist hat es ewig gedauert, bis man bedient wurde und dann wurde auch gerne etwas vergessen.

Das Restaurant war sehr schön gestaltet und das Essen lecker. Das Personal war insgesamt sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Nach dem Dinner konnte man noch am Strand sitzen und die Bar genießen. Es gab nur wenige Liegen am Strand und diese wurden oft mit Handtüchern freigehalten. Die Terrasse vor der Wohnung hatte zwar etwas Meersicht, war jedoch etwas dunkel.

Mökki siisti, erityisen kiva oli kylpyhuone avoin ulkoilmaan. Sänky pitäisi vaihtaa. Aamiainen ei kuulunut hintaan, olisi pitänyt kuulua tuohon hintaan.

Er brak een betonnen tree af toen ik erop ging staan in hut 2 En ik had een struik voor mijn zeezicht die wel wat gesnoeid mag worden. Geen verlichting op sommige paden.

Würde alles i - War ein bisschen im hinteren Teil eines mit hohen Bäumen bestandenen Grundstücks. Die Lage war soweit okay ein paar Meter zum Strand das Meer konnte man gut hören. Alles in allem wirklich okay. Der Bungalow für drei Personen allerdings nicht groß genug. Für zwei Personen optimal. Wir haben in den umliegenden Restaurants gegessen. Bamboo Bungalow ist etwas gehobener Preistyp gerechtfertigt oder nicht Sei dahingestellt. Mobiliar im Außenbereich sehr schlicht könnte man einiges verbessern. Ansonsten soweit okay. Wir hatten nachts offenbar Besuch von Affen oder ähnlichen Getier, das auf den Dächern rum hüpft.

• Simon (6/5): - Das Beachfront Restaurant war toll und das Personal witzig und freundlich, tagsüber hatten wir eine tolle Zeit. Die Bungalows (mit Gartenblick) sind leider sehr in die Jahre gekommen und die Fotos hier auf Booking sind sehr wohlwollend fotografiert. Der Ventilator war zu laut, um ihn nachts laufen zu lassen und da es nachts nicht sonderlich abkühlt war das Schlafen ohne Klimaanlage eher mühsam. Im Bad unter freiem Himmel war an der oberen Fassade wirklich sehr viel Schimmel. Der Garten wird sich im Grunde selbst überlassen. Für die 90€ pro Nacht gibt es auf der Insel gepflegtere Bungalows.

Vive Kho Phayam! - l'hôtel était conforme à mes attentes: situation idéale (directement sur la plage, proche de nombreux bars et restaurants), service irréprochable, les fans de surf seront gâtés, ce spot est merveilleux! Ne vous attendez pas à un resort 5*, le confort du bungalow est vraiment minimaliste. Pas de clim, juste un ventilateur assez bruyant et très peu de rangement pour ses affaires. Il faudra vous doucher à l'eau froide. Si vous êtes un aventurier comme moi et que vous recherchez une expérience plutôt originale, ces quelques petits défauts ne vous poseront aucun problème pour apprécier cet endroit!

• Andreas (8/5): Schönes Resort mit kleinen Haken. - Die Bungalows direkt im Urwald und mit Strandzugang sind einfach toll. Und die kleine Terrasse habe ich auch gerne genutzt. Wenn es regnete schwang ich mich in die Hängematte und las ein Buch. Das Personal war äußerst hilfsbereit. Sie fragten stets nach dem Befinden der Gäste und ob alles in Ordnung ist. Am ersten Tag sagte ich, dass es in meinem Bungalow kleine Mini-Ameisen gibt die etwas nerven. Sie haben sich sofort darum gekümmert, und nach einer Stunde war alles okay. Das dazugehörige Strandrestaurant ist sehr gut. Etwas teurer als an der Hauptstraße, aber auf jeden Fall den kleinen Aufpreis wert Bei dieser Preislage hätte ich schon auch warmes Wasser erwartet. Kalt Duschen ist nicht Jedermanns Sache. Auch wenn ich mich mit der Zeit daran gewöhnt habe. Die Matratzen sind sehr unterschiedlich. Ich habe nach ein paar Tagen den Bungalow gewechselt, als man mich darum bat. Die Matratze im ersten Bungalow war besser. Was auf jeden Fall leider ein Problem ist, ist der Umstand, dass auf der Insel, und somit auch in diesem Resort, der Müll einfach hinterm Haus verbrannt wird. Der unangenehme Rauch ist deutlich spürbar. Ich bin eines Nachts vom beißenden Qualm wach geworden, da dieser manchmal, je nach Wind und Wetter, in die Bungalows zieht.

In addition the open shower is so beautiful and unique. The restaurant is also very good and we enjoyed to just sit there at the evening drink a beer and snack some chicken fingers The beach by the hostel is not the best… very dirty and not one of the good beaches on the island. • Cornelia (8/5): Beautiful beach and friendly people - Great food, friendly people, beautiful beach, very cheap for surfing Did not clean the hut, no power for a hairdryer, did not change the towels and the towels were some kind of stinky. After the rain they did not clean the whole beach from natural sticks ansd leaves in front of the whole hotel they just cleaned a small part to walk in the water. We were at the end of the season. Maybe it was because of that.
• Nicola (9/5): A perfect beach paradise. - Beautiful small bungalow resort right on the best beach on the island. Walking distance to lots of lovely restaurants and bars. Coco and the staff were just lovely. Friendly, helpful, funny, efficient and always polite. By the end of our stay we felt like family. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was some of the best on the island. A little more expensive but worth it to be able to eat watching the sunset or surfers or impromptu entertainment by passing beach users. It was really magical. We paid for an indoor shower with hot water which wasn’t always hot or working but was generally mended pretty quickly. I think the showers could be updated. The bungalows are in the woods which is lovely but brings a lot more mosquitoes and high pitched insect noises…it’s normal but you have to be prepared for this.

The restaurant has very tasty food, but is a little more expensive by Thai standards. The bungalow offers very little storage space and an outside bathroom as well as a fan, which we had to leave running all night due to the temperatures. A fridge would have been nice.

• Robert (6/5): Decent but need to provide the basics. - It has a good position on the beach, it is close to restaurants and bars for alternative options, the staff are attentive and friendly, the food quality is good. I have travelled all over SE Asia and I have never, ever been told the electricity is not able to power a kettle. Apparently this is a deliberate choice of the venue. At first I was told it would cost 5 baht for hot water, until I objected. I also had to beg fresh drinking water after the first day, which is traditionally given every day pretty much everywhere else. There was no hot water in the shower, no fridge, and a very poor exchange rate for payment in dollars. I can manage without these things but this place cost 95 dollars per night and I just think they are squeezing every penny. It's a decent place and the staff are wonderful but you'd think for the price they would provide the basics. It leaves a sour taste.

• Luuk (8/5): Okay resort, but a little pricey for Koh Phayam - Its a nice resort, and the staff is perfect. Just not really sure if the price really fits all of the appartments. We had a room in the far corner without lights, also they do not clean the room which is no biggy but wont give them a 10 this way. The location is nice, since you need to rent a scooter for this island anyways.

Best thing about here was the staff! So friendly, accommodating and great food at the restaurant too. We experienced heavy rain while there so it was hard to fall asleep as the bungalow is made from bamboo, not much of a problem

• Steven (10/5): Saw sea otters, monkeys and Hornbills. - Location, location, location.You are dropped at the entrance to Bamboo and walk about 50 metres down path with the sound of the surf, the smell of the ocean and then views of the Andaman Sea to a check in/restuaraunt on the beach. Yes, on the beach. I feel bad telling the world about this place as it is a parkway back to SE Asian beaches of 30-40 years ago. It is early in the season(after monsoon) and the local staff are still cleaning the high water mark of the flotsam and jetsam of the rest of the Andaman Sea neighbours. Ban plastic straws now.

• Stu (8/5): A few days on Kho Phayam. - In a great location and nice and quiet. Other things, like motorbike rental and convenience store nearby. Good restaurant at the resort. I guess this is because of Covid and a lack of visitors at that time but many bungalows are now derelict. However, possibly these may have been a separate business?
• Marc (8/5): Super staff, great food, and right on the beach. Recommended. - Great staff and close to the beach.

• Alexandra (5/5): It was fine, but off season is definitely not the time to go unless it for surfing and only surfing. - Location is good as its right on the beach on the far side of the island. Good for surfing and they have some decent boards to rent out. It would have been nice if it was more clear what things would be like in the off season. Huge barriers up between the seating and the ocean so there is no view (which I'm guessing is for wind/storms at this time but would have been nice to know this would be the case) Garbage all over the beach as it doesn't get picked up in off season. No chairs to sit on the beach at all. All of the buildings seemed closed / everyone on site was working on repairs etc.
• Julie (8/5): A brilliant beach bungalow experience - Location .. a bungalow right on the beach. Going to sleep with the sound of the waves was bliss. The staff were lovely ..made you feel you could relax and not worry about anything A pity you had to buy water and ice .. the only place in my 4 months of travelling in Asia that didn’t provide free water
• Paul (5/5): Better value elsewhere - Location right on the beach Staff were friendly Food was good Internet reception was adequate Our room was unbearably hot. The ceiling mounted oscillating fan was almost useless and it wasn't possible to adjust it to stop oscillating and focus on our bed. Therefore the normal sanctuary of room comfort in a hot climate was denied us. Each night we were very uncomfortable until about 4 am when the outside temperature dropped. We stayed for 7 nights and the room was cleaned and linen changed on day 6. When paying bills for food and drink the owner took it upon herself to take tips from my change instead of me perhaps offering to tip. Food and drink prices were well above the island average price. Often double.
