We enjoyed a quiet room on the top floor and liked that we could open the window. The bed was very comfortable, as were the chairs, and the room was spotless. The breakfast, cooked to order, was exceptional. The curtains are not blackout, so we were wakened by sunlight.

Recommended local eateries and the best route to the venue we were in the area for. Breakfast was fantastic a choice of fruit, cereals, yogurt, lovely coffee. The room was large, and very clean. The mattress on our room was a bit on the hard side, but otherwise a lovely room in a quite location.

- Sharon (10/5): - Friendly staff. Quaint and warm decor. Homely feel. Small staircase to the bedrooms on the top floor
- Hall (8/5): - Location, parking, breakfast, clean, nice suite room Very soft and therefore uncomfortable mattress. Needs double glazing on road side

- NIGEL (9/5): -
- Alex (9/5): Delightful, nicely decorated and peaceful - Breakfast was superb, and staff super friendly! My bedding wasn’t the most comfortable
- Mary (9/5): Absolutely brilliant for the hospital round the corner. - The room and breakfast were excellent..
Ideal location for the hospital where I took my husband in for a procedure and had to stay overnight. All excellent
- Deborah (9/5): Lovely hotel, good location. Car park a bit tight for large cars - It’s charm
- Christopher (9/5): My go-to hotel in Bury St. Edmunds. - Location, staff, breakfast.on-site parking.
- Dean (9/5): - Great breakfast.
Comfortable bed and good sized room and bathroom.
Great location and perfect walking distance to centre.
- Gordon (10/5): -
- Paul (8/5): Recommended but try and get a room at the rear of the main building. - The room was comfortable and included a small sitting room, also comfortable. The shower was excellent, as were the breakfasts and the waiting staff. Good location close to the town centre. The bedroom was on the ground floor immediately next to a busy road (which we accept is something the management cannot do a lot about), and similarly the sitting room was right next to the hotel car park. The mattress was too soft for our preference. The curtains were thin and let in the light/car lights, and although there is a blind it didn’t help a lot. A proper blackout blind would help.
- john (10/5): Very welcoming and good value for money - Excellent location near to all facilities No issues
- Neil (8/5): Ideal location to the town centre. Quick easy check in. Lovely breakfast. - Breakfast was excellent. All staff are welcoming and friendly Bed was too short. I’m 6ft 4
- Renata (9/5): Charming place with excellent staff - Charming building and very nice staff. I arrived late and left early so couldn't appreciate the facilities fully sadly. The only criticism is that access to the top floors is a bit bothersome - with no lift and narrow staircase - this saying the host proposed to take my bag upstairs - but something to take into account if you think of a heavy suitcase
- James (9/5): -
- wendy (10/5): -
- Tony (7/5): Good location, friendly staff, not quite perfect. - room was quiet as requested. Unusually good wardrobe space. Useful, adequate, sofa. Clean, bright, functional and generally comfortable. Cooked breakfast was good. Room was not very warm and radiators even full on provided inadequate heat to warm the room properly.
The mattress was too hard -- hurt my shoulder when sleeping on my side. The toilet brush fell apart in the loo -- awkward and messy. Room lighting was a bit glaring when on -- nothing in between that and quite dim. No flannels in the bathroom. Small selection of breakfast juices. All small issues but collectively disappointing.
- Gail (10/5): Lovely hotel comfortable clean and close to the centre of Bury - Closeness to the centre of Bury clean comfortable. Nothing to dislike
- Tara (7/5): -
- Suzanne (9/5): Nice weekend away - Full English breakfast was good
Room was nice, very large bathroom. Bed was very comfy. Baked beans with breakfast
- Clint (8/5): Would stay again in this pleasant hotel - Very clean and tidy, friendly, helpful staff and decent breakfast Heating in room and hard bed
- brian (7/5): - Very good breakfast. Friendly staff and good location
- chris (7/5): - Very good location for seeing Bury St Edmunds A little disappointed that the small reception/bar was un attended.
I felt that the room was overpriced for the overall standard..
- Suzanne (8/5): -
- Sheila (9/5): It is a pleasure to stay there - quiet and friendly service without being over the top. - An excellent breakfast, freshly cooked to perfection. Excellent service. If anything, the rooms were a little too warm but easily solved by turning the radiators down.
- Edward (5/5): - How close to town it was food good staff ok Bed was very soft and pillows unable to sleep threw the night
- Rebecca (5/5): OK hotel - The proximity to the centre of the town. The room we stayed in was up steep stairs and was very small. We were in the Tudor annex. The breakfast was good, service by staff was not very welcoming. Parking was tight in the car park.
- Philippa (10/5): Relaxing and enjoyable. - A lovely find. A beautiful small hotel with parking and a central location.
- ANNE (8/5): Very enjoyable will definitely come back - Clean central location parking nice breakfast All good nothing to dislike
- Carolyn (8/5): Delightful - Delightful bedroom room with a sofa. Water provided. Breakfast was very tasty and staff were friendly. No bedside lamp on one side.
- Lee (9/5): -
- Paul (9/5): -
- Mandy (9/5): - Very using , lovely building. Super fresh breakfast and lovely host
- Amanda (10/5): - Great position to town. Very welcoming and breakfast was fantastic
