jude3157 (10/5): Great mini Muskoka getaway - I require a wheelchair accessible room & Gary made sure that I had one! He installed safety grab bars beside the toilet, gave a tour of all the rooms to see which would work best & checked to make sure everything was ok & worked for me. Anyone requiring accessible accommodation in Muskoka should definitely check out Crestwood Inn! We were in room #9. There is only a tub/shower combo but that was fine with us as we weren't planning on using it. The room was quite large & had a small fridge, microwave & Keurig coffee maker. The bed was very comfortable & lots of pillows. The weather was beautiful so we were able to sit outside our room & enjoy the view of the small lake across the road. I highly recommend staying here if you're in Muskoka. Great value compared to other places nearby! There are places to eat in Port Carling but we drove up to Minnett & had lunch at The Rock golf course. Delicious food & very reasonable. Beautiful views as well.

Kevin (8/5): - We stayed in the Magnolia Cabin at the end of the property and it was very quiet despite being failed close to the highway. It was quite clean and cozy. The bathroom was clean as well. The building itself was a little tired and in need of a bit of a facelift.
jeannettef209 (6/5): No Air Conditioning - We visited Port Carling for first time in August 2021. We were recommended to stay at the Crestwood Inn and Gary was lovely. Our room was clean and comfortable, but it lacked air conditioning which made for an uncomfortable night sleep. We had to sleep with our windows open but we had little sleep with the neighbours on their deck chairs very close to our windows on the shared veranda.
markgogogo (10/5): Convenient Clean Centrally Loctaed - We stay in August 2021 and enjoyed our stay. The Crestwood is conveniently located in Port Carling. The room was clean and pleasant. We took our boat and went on all three lakes and Gary was very helpful in every way. Recommend this as a great choice while staying in Port Carling.

I’m afraid that I screwed up the TV, so theres that but there was no way of contacting the manager unless you go to the office. Didn’t happen. Would I stay there again, yes.

Suzie (6/5): - Reasonably priced, very clean, comfortable bed, great shower, lots of hot water. BUT. The room was so beige. Everything was beige. A cocoon of beige. Bedspreads, tones of beige and brown. No pops of color anywhere. The grounds were fine; took a walk in some very nice woods. There are outdoor cooking facilities. We were a couple, but we saw several families, obviously vacationing together, who were making food on the BBQ. Lots of space outside for kids to play.

shellandr (10/5): Exceptional customer service - Visited in August 2020 and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the two bedroom cottage which had recently been renovated. Perfect for a family or 2 couples since there is a door separating each room. Great value for the size of space and location. Bonfire in the evening and less than 5 minute drive from Port Carling shops and restaurants. Gary, the Manager is fantastic.
julians43 (10/5): Unbelievable hospitality. - My group of friends and I had nothing but an amazing experience here. The rooms were spotless and clean. We had an extra guest staying in our hotel, Gary provided extra towels and comforters. For some reason our satellite service wasn’t working and Gary came and fixed it within 30 seconds. Gary and his wife really took care of all our needs. Gary even drove us and picked us up from town when we needed a lift! I highly suggest staying here and would stay here again in a heartbeat. 5 stars!!! Oh and check out the firepit as well, great for some late night fun.

First, the good; 1) the sheets appeared to be clean, 2) the room was ready for us when we arrived, and 3) the room appeared to be updated. Second, the not so good; 1) a lot of noise coming into the room from the vehicles on a nearby road, 2) the bathroom floor had dirt in the corners, 3) no top comforter on the two queen beds, 4) no complimentary breakfast as was stated on a website, 5) the restaurant sign displayed a restaurant on site yet there was no functional restaurant, and 6) there was a heavy snowfall and the parking lot was not cleared, the sidewalk was not cleared, not even the steps that led up to our room. Thank goodness for 4x4 or else we would have gotten stuck in the parking lot.

The promised 'continental breakfast included' was non existent. Lovely ramp to the rooms but then hampered by large chairs so walker could not get past.

The rides to and from the Kee were great and shared the ride with fellow guests. The Inn was friendly and clean and very good for our plans. I would go to this place again.

When we got there the lady told us that Expedia was wrong and that there are no breakfast offered, the rooms didn’t seem updated and the room was very dirty. The dust on lamps, cob webs, carpet needed vacuuming, the sheets were stained and had hair on the pillow case. The only good part was it was close to our venue we went to.
Murphy1818 (6/5): It's gone down hill! - Our family has been staying here for over 30 years and wow has it ever gone down hill. There was no phone in our room and no breakfast! Which was supposed to be included in the price! There was a hair in the shower, I read another review and they said the same thing-they found a hair in the shower! The room was dusty and had not been thoroughly cleaned. And there were people partying till 4am right outside our room. For one night it cost us over $200!! Unbelievable! This used to be such a nice place to stay and they used to provide breakfast too. The only thing we liked was the bed. It was very comfortable.

Room was cold till i noticed the window was not in track property so I had to pop the window out and put it in so window would lock properly, blocking out noise from hwy plus the cold.. Clock radio in room not on so when my phone died I had no idea what time it was.....AND No breakfast which was supposed to be included. Makes me question expedia. I am a seasoned traveler, i have stayed at better places paying half the price. Actually never complained about any accomodations before this. I left at 8am....thank goodness there was a brand new timmies open just down the road.

Stsun23 (8/5): Updated. Very nice. - There has been a lot of effort to upgrade the inn. They have done a great job. The continental breakfast was up to their high standards. The paths were cleaned (of snow). We will stay again next year.
Stay05794915156 (4/5): Bedbugs! - After the first night I decided to check the mattress. To my horror I found dirt and live bugs. I called the manager and he came to take a look. As he pushed a bug off the bed with his thumb, he exclaimed they're not bed bugs! before I even had a chance to say anything. They moved me to another room and when I awoke about 3am I had been bitten all down my left arm and side. Upon checking out I requested a refund to which the wife said she would refund one night. They did not.

Our first room did have a problem and not of their making but of a former guest. They immediately moved us to another room and made sure we were comfortable. Rooms are nicely decorated and clean. We enjoyed our stay.

Exactly what we were looking for. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but there is a little restaurant in the front office.

Very peaceful getaway, Nice staff beautiful grounds.Our room was very comfartable and easy access to Inn. I would definitely recommend this place. The Table restaurant was to die for. The food and setting was tremendous.
Dana (8/5): Great choice in the middle of it all - It was a good safe spot to stay, especially needed when the weather was bad on the roads. Also was a nice economical alternative instead of staying at the JW Marriott where I spent the day at the spa. Nice breakfast and rustic. Really close to also the Bala Johnson's Cranberry marsh and a few more local attractions which I went to after my stay. Very pleased.
Verified traveler (4/5): Stay in you have to - I was in a position where I had to stay the night for business. I would assume a place like this in November would be out of season and thus would cost less than $180 a night tax in. I would not be as displeased if I hadn't spent so much money. Just an old room with pink and green decore, hair in the shower and a loud heater. I'm not a picky person but I'm sorry, I wouldn't stay here again.
718zanak (2/5): BE AWARE: Crestwood Inn: Charged credit card without permission! - My Visa card was charged $50.00 without my knowledge and permission on September 3rd, 2017 by Crestwood Inn, Port Carling, Ontario. I have booked 1 night at the Crestwood Inn for September 2nd 2017 for 4 adults and paid $174.50 through Expedia.ca. My booking confirmation was clearly showing the price and number of people. We arrived at the hotel around 7pm and the lady/owner at the reception desk told us immediately that we had to pay extra $50 for 2 adults, not even checking what we already paid. I refused to pay extra, because I already paid for 4 of us and plus that information wasn’t disclosed prior to booking. She also told me that I am welcome to go somewhere else, although I've already paid a room at her hotel. That was very rude. After 10 min of arguing she checked my confirmation issued by Expedia and admitted that on the receipt there is nothing about extra payment. We have agreed that I don’t have to pay. I have 3 witnesses to confirm this, Then she asked me to give her my Visa card. I was surprised with the request and I asked her why she needs my credit card as I already paid my room. I told her loud and clear that I don’t want her to charge me $50.00. She told me the card is just for the guarantee for other possible expenses. I thought we settled the issue. Next morning we checked out and her husband who was at the reception desk didn’t mention anything, That same day September 3rd they charged my Visa card for $50.00 behind my back. In the meantime after more than one month I finally received my money back from Expedia. Bad Experience All Over...So please STAY AWAY FROM Crestwood Inn and BE AWARE of extra credit charges without permission!

jake (10/5): Great rooms. Very comfortable beds. - The room was very clean and cozy the beds were the most comfortable ones we slept in after driving all the way from BC. Downside, the alarm on the key card lock is annoying and confusing on how to stop. 9.5 out of 10 (that alarm is the devil.)
MelandGary823 (6/5): Okay for one night - We needed a room for one night in August and it was difficult to find one. The Crestwood was quite attentive to call me when on became available and then shifted us to a more appropriate room. The Crestwood is right on the highway with a Tim Horton ' s nearby. Many rooms face the highway so you can hear the traffic, but it is quiet in the middle of the night. The walls are thin so you can hear your neighbours albeit no one was up late when we stayed. While not large, the double queen room was big enough for two and had a microwave and mini fridge. Shampoo and soap were provided, however other basics were not present (like body lotion, coffee maker, phone, paper). Out room had not been restocked with bathroom linens so we went to the house and asked for a couple of towels (which by the way smelled awesome - good fabric softener). The continental breakfast was basic but sufficient (muffins, cereal, bagels, juice, tea/coffee). Not our traditional type of hotel to stay, but worked just fine for our needs when passing through and happy we had help securing a room.
