The front desk staff is full of young people that don't know the art of hospital. The African-American staff person is just rude and I can't believe they would let somebody get a front desk have stars all over their face and tats just really unprofessional. Please hire older more experienced hotel staff. They know how to treat a guest when they arrive. If you're trying to project yourself as a high-end hotel, try acting like one. Other bad experiences: The rooftop bar sent me away with cold takeout. The Wi-Fi is terrible and spotty. And quite honestly, the self signal is terrible in the rooms. I would never stay again for that reason alone. This hotel blocked the Fox channel on the TV. See photo. I told the staff member and they never got back to me. There is not a stitch of art on the walls of this room. It felt like a sterile hospital room. Try going to the trouble of having some creativity and decorating the room. See photo. This is nothing more than a glorified Motel 6.

- kaijS8556XL (10/5): I definitely be back! - I had a reservation at another hotel but needed a room for one night. When I called at 11pm, I got Ray on the phone... she was absolutely amazing! Her customer service and kindness was like no other. It was way better then the other hotels staff I had booked, so I decided to cancel my first choice and stay all weekend at Hotel Via. Then I got there and my room was very clean, great location, and every staff member from front desk, cleaners to manager were absolutely wonderful. Rooftop has great food and amazing views. I will definitely be booking again when back in town!

- Georgiana (10/5): Best Place to Stay for a Giants Game; Hands Down! - We stay at Hotel Via every time we come to a San Francisco Giants game, and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. The location is unbeatable, literally steps from Oracle Park. You can walk across the street and be at the stadium in minutes. The hotel itself is spotless, with super comfortable beds, fluffy pillows, and consistently clean rooms. Huge shoutout to housekeeping as they truly go above and beyond. One of the highlights is the rooftop bar. The views are incredible, drinks are great, and the whole vibe is just fun and relaxing. Sip something smooth, watch the sun melt into the bay, and let the noise of life fade out. Funny thing… you might just run into a player or two while you’re at it 😉 we have several times! Despite being so close to the action, it’s surprisingly quiet at night, making it easy to unwind and get a great night’s sleep. The valet service is absolutely worth it, friendly, efficient, and just makes everything easier. There are also tons of great spots nearby. We love MoMo’s for a lively pre-game drink and dinner, and The Stick is such a fun baseball-themed hangout around the corner from Tom Brady’s card shop. Between the location, service, and overall experience, this place is a home run every time. We never stay anywhere else but The Via! 💜 No rush. No stress. Just be. That’s living! Are you kidding me? Theres nothing to not like at the Via!!! 🙌🏼

All of the front desk staff are amazing. They are always helpful no matter what my questions. The A/C in the room didn't seem to work as well as I would have liked. Took awhile to cool down. The lights are all on one master switch, so you can't seem to turn on the lights by the desk area without turning on the master which lights up the whole room.

It is surrounded by restaurants and entertainment. It is within walking distance of Muni stops, making it easy to access rail cars or buses. The room itself was small, clean, and comfortable. I felt that I got my money’s worth. Although there wasn’t anything extra, the room and amenities were good. The room was good, though operating the lights were a bit weird. It's operated by tablet and you can choose what you want to keep on or turn off. It was either on or off. What may be a downside is the bathroom counter was also small. But I assume it's based on the size room I booked.

I booked the room direct from the hotel, this time my husband went on line to book the room and evidently was turned over to a third party and our room was this tiny little box that you had to back up to turn around!! - NinaT1955 (2/5): Hotel Via did not return my holding fee. - The hotel Via was derelict in returning my "holding fee."My son and his companion booked two rooms at the Hotel VIA, San Francisco from 11/27/2025 to 12/01/2025. We paid for the rooms and the holding fees. We were informed that the holding fee of $150. per room would be returned upon check-out, and to wait 3-5 business days to see the return in his account. At this writing, it is now December 17, 2025, and the money has still not been returned. I called the hotel three times and was told that the problem had to be on the bank’s side. I asked the hotel for proof of return, which I have not received. I also left a message with the department responsible for these issues, and my call has not been returned. This lack of response is unacceptable.

- Nikita (6/5): An okay hotel to stop for a night if you are alone on a business trip - On the bright side: clean rooms, decent soundproofing from the neighbors and the corridor, and an amazingly cozy rooftop bar with a really nice and welcoming barman. On the downside: parking $75 per night (WTF, really?!), and an absolutely amazingly useless door to the toilet. Seriously, a sliding door with gaps of a good few centimeters on both sides is absolutely unacceptable for a toilet in a room for 2 or more people. There was no privacy at all. In my experience, the downsides have significantly more weight in this case. I would not recommend staying at this hotel, and I won't stay there again.
