We were told to use the lobby. Which was not private. The hotel should not sell or charge extraon the room with private club .

Хотя сам отель рядом с достопримечательностями, район неудачный, особо погулять негде, сразу лучше ехать на такси. Персонала не видели от слова вообще, такое ощущение, что не особо хотят контактировать. Взяли депозит 200 юаней на каждый день, в других отелях в Шанхае об этом и слова не было. При раннем заезде доплатили 80$, я понимаю есть такие правила, но мы не первый год путешествуем и посетили много отелей в мире, так вот везде и всегда, если есть свободный номер - заселяют бесплатно. Некритично, просто рассказываю другим будущим посетителям

• Carolina Maria (3/5): Es una vergüenza - no me gusto. I did not like it I have every right in the world to be angry, because your hotel is a fake five-star—it’s a three-star at best. Let me list the bad experiences: Starting with the concierge, who runs his own little side deals by recommending nearby restaurants or a “friend” with a taxi. Or maybe I’m even more upset because you turn off the heating at night and I had to sleep cold in a “five-star” hotel. On top of that, you lost my glasses. And the ground-floor restaurant is not only expensive—it’s terrible. I ordered the beef, the most expensive dish, and what I got was a piece of junk: tough as a rock and completely tasteless. My wife was served two lamb chops that wouldn’t fill a tooth. Of course I’m angry—your hotel is a scam. You hide behind the prestigious Sofitel name, but what you actually deliver is a miserable experience.

It was one of the few places during our stay in China where the concierge spoke perfect English and helped us with everything, including ordering food from a food delivery app late one night. • Andre (5/5): Gorgeous, stunning new hotel, but the air-conditioning in the rooms doesn’t work. - We booked 3 rooms for our family & stayed 4 nights, and overall we really loved the experience. The interiors are beautifully designed, and the room sizes are massive, which made a big difference for a family stay. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout, with a special mention to Jerry, who really stood out. The Concierge also spoke great English and had a fun, bubbly personality that made everything easy and enjoyable. The only downside, and unfortunately a significant one, was the air-conditioning in all 3 rooms. The temperature consistently sat between 23–25°, which was very uncomfortable for us, especially at night when trying to sleep. We were hoping for a cooler setting around 19°, but it didn’t seem possible to adjust it. Interestingly, the common areas of the hotel were well air-conditioned, so it felt like the issue was isolated to the rooms. We understand the hotel may be following an energy-saving or eco-friendly approach, but it did impact our comfort quite a bit. While we genuinely loved the hotel, this is something they need to address, as it would be the main reason we wouldn’t return.
• Dee (8/5): - Exceptional from the very first step. The staff were lovely and incredibly helpful, especially when assisting us in organising transport back to the airport after checkout. We arrived early, and they kindly held our bags until we were able to check in. The facilities were very clean, and the lobby and seating area were spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately, the only downsides were that the room was slightly smaller than expected, and the WiFi was quite poor.

• CHRISOULA (10/5): An excellent stay experience with impeccable service, outstanding cleanliness, comfort, and great attention to detail – - Fantastic cleanliness and service at every level. The breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety of options to suit all tastes. The rooms were comfortable and very well maintained, with a particularly spacious bathroom divided into three separate areas, which made the stay even more convenient. The view was wonderful, while the modern automation features for curtains, heating, and lighting added an extra touch of comfort and luxury. Special thanks to Jerry and Elwyn, who spoke fluent English and assisted us with everything we needed. They arranged a spacious taxi van to the airport at a very reasonable price and guided us perfectly throughout our entire stay. Absolutely nothing. Everything was excellent. I would highly recommend it and will definitely visit again.

• Zoe (8/5): Very nice stay in Shanghai - Our hotel room was lovely, at night there was a great view of the city to enjoy from the bathtub! The staff were extremely helpful, several spoke very good English which made things easier. They organised a car to take us to the airport for 200RMB which was reasonable value. Buffet style breakfast had a very good variety of options, both Chinese and Western, hot and cold, and coffee is made fresh by the staff. The fitness suite was a basic but very nice and functional space with several treadmills, fitness bikes and stair master, as well as dumbells and several weight machines. The closest metro station is about 15 minutes walk away and the Bund also takes about 15 minutes to walk to. We had a great stay here! The area immediately surrounding the hotel is not the best as much of it is under construction and feels a bit industrial - this can't be helped but is worth knowing that the surroundings are not particularly pretty.

• Alexandria (7/5): Adequate amenities and hotel. - I’ve stayed at many Sofitels so my expectations were quite high. It was a pretty hotel building. Beautiful lounge area with a nice cocktail bar. Lanvin products in the bathroom and spacious rooms. Lovely breakfast offerings. Not a dislike but it was a little difficult to communicate with the staff due to my basic Mandarin level and their basic English. The rooms were far too warm and you are unable to regulate the temperature. Poor tea selection in the room.
• Tatiana (7/5): - New hotel, stylish design, spacious room, comfortable bathroom It's inconvenient to get to the hotel on foot. There's construction all around. The elevators are very noisy; can hear the engines in our room, making it impossible to sleep at night. We couldn't order room service over the phone; the staff didn't speak English. An hour later, they came to our room with a menu, and we showed them what we wanted.
• Campbell (7/5): Modern, well-designed hotel with large rooms and friendly staff; breakfast could be improved and the metro is a 15-minut - Modern property with unique design and large room. Friendly staff at check in. Breakfast could be improved, as several of the hot buffet items were served cold. The heat lamps appeared ineffective or insufficient to keep the food at an appropriate temperature — cold eggs in particular were disappointing. The duvet cover on the bed had a small tear. While not a major issue, this is something housekeeping should be aware of and address. The room heating was set very warm at 28°C upon arrival. Although the temperature could be adjusted, it was slow to cool down. The hotel is approximately a 15-minute walk from the nearest metro station. This was not an issue for us, but may be worth noting for other guests. On a positive note, the North Bund is about a 10-minute walk away and offers a very pleasant park and excellent views of the skyline.

• Dora (8/5): Great rooms and perfect if you don't care too much for service - The rooms are large and tastefully furnished. I loved how immaculately clean they were. We had a walk in wardrobe in our room and my parents had a bath tub in theirs. The beds were very comfortable. The concierge were very helpful with helping to organise transport for our day trip to ZhouZhuang. We were disappointed with the receptionist during check in. He did not explain our Club Millesime inclusions and when I ask to clarify details, he was impolite and short. The lobby bar staff are also inadequately trained regarding the menu. We had to ask a few people before we were able to get a wine list. Overall, staff at other Shanghai hotels we've been to were more friendly and accommodating with the concierge being the exception. There is also no way to change the room temperature which was set to 24C and too hot for my liking. I changed the settings in the room in the panel but it does not seem to affect the actual room temperature.

• Izabela (6/5): It was okey for 1night - The finish of my room was nice and modern The hotel staff cannot speak English, quite far from the main attractions. My room was overlooking construction.

• Yu (9/5): 总体来说都很好，除了我们房间太热 - 员工都特别亲切且执行力相当的快，从前台到清洁到工程部的空调维修师傅，各种笑容服务真的非常棒 空调。我们住1810，住了三天，热死了，天天打电话给前台要求调低温度，可还是热。同样我孩子的房间1817的空调就相当的好，温度适宜。最后一天客房给我们送了风扇，但回到酒店太累了，最后也没用上

• FM (7/5): Too close to construction sites. - The hotel is very new and clean. Bathroom is big and room is comfortable. It is located in a region far from the subway station and there are no restaurants or shops around. Too close to many construction sites make it very noise.

• Yasen (10/5): An amazing stay - Everything about this hotel is amazing. The rooms are spacious, rich breakfast, the bar/restaurant at the ground floor is very cozy and the food and deserts are fantastic. Even the gym is well equipped. The location is convenient next to the north bund but also walking distance to the east nanjing road. I can only strongly recommend. Maybe only as a wish to have a bit more vegetarian/vegan options for breakfast and in the restaurant, but that's person specific.
