• 인천왕주먹 (5/5): Sunset Homestay - The room rate per night was very cheap and the location of the hostel was fantastic! The air conditioner in the block was so cold that I got up several times. Are the lockers without padlocks in the block meaningful? The room was quite dirty, with a lot of hair and a fruit seed. The blanket was so slim that It couldn't keep me warm. The kitchen in the common area was dirty and moldy. It needs cleaning.

• Chloe (7/5): Perfect to catch up on some sleep - Comfy bed, female dorms and communal area Cutlery was dirty, lack of atmosphere

• Fiony (10/5): A good place for backpackers. - The staff was friendly and helpful. She provided clear instructions with pictures. The location is strategic, a few minutes away from Kuching Waterfront, The Hills mall, bars, and several convenience stores. The place has a washing machine (RM 3 per wash), pantry at the common area and in the female hostel.
• Jun Pin (10/5): - I accidentally booked the female privates instead of the male one but the staff was responsive and helped ammend my booking. Location was great, convenient street parking at the side. Barebones but it's a hostel so it's expected.

• Lorena (8/5): - Good location and facilities. The staff sent detailed instructions via WhatsApp on how to reach the place and how to check in, which were very helpful. The single room didn’t have a window, but it was perfectly good for the price (maybe a couple more hangers would have been useful). A towel was provided, albeit not the highest quality. There are lockers you can use (you need your own lock), but I didn’t deem it necessary. The number of passive-aggressive, even hostile notes posted all over the place creates a bad (first) impression. I understand some guests can leave you frustrated, but "we will confiscate your belongings and charge you for them if you don't check out on time" is really taking it too far. It's good to have rules, but I would advise to choose the words more carefully not to scare away nice travellers too.

De plus, possibilité de laisser son sac le temps d'une ou deux nuits ! Il y a vraiment à faire du point de vue de la propreté etc. J'ai eu une serviette sale pour mon check-in, la salle de bain est trop souvent salle et est rester 24h sans papier...

• Eng Hong (5/5): You pay for what you are getting. - Location. Very close to water front and walkable to all the tourist hotspot The whole room smell stink. I guess because the shoe cabinet is locating inside the room. The stinky shoe is lingering around the whole room. The toilet is dirty.

• Christia (10/5): i slept well and comfortable. privacy is well protected. - very unique, smart security with gate@cctvs@keylockers, smart budget matches with the bunkers, simple facilities towels@shampoos@waterdispensers provided, no uneven smell, very clean (even other budget hotels cant provide it well). comfort temperature of the place (23•C - 26•C). will repeat again if emergency stay out solo night needed. owner@reception fast reply. height of curtain still okay. length of the curtain is still a bit short. need to changing@dress up in the bathroom@toilet. need to turn on soft music beside your ears or put on earpods while sleeping bcos some of the tenants might snores.
• Hayley (7/5): Fine for a short stay but not worth the extra to upgrade to a ‘room’ - The hostel is a short walk from Kuching waterfront. The room is partitioned from the standard dorm area by a door that doesn’t reach all the way to the ceiling giving you little privacy and lots of light pollution. The aircon is only in the dorm area so even with the gap above the door you get little of the aircon making the room really warm unless you keep the door open defeating the point although there is a fan making it a little more comfortable. There is a lot of noise late into the night from a karaoke bar so ear plugs are a must. The toilet paper was only replaced in one of the bathrooms after I happened to be in the dorm at the same time as housekeeping to ask as it had already been two days without any. The level of cleaning is poor, not just from so many people using the facilities but layers of grime suggesting it’s never been deep cleaned/sufficient cleaning is not being carried out by the housekeepers.

You can refill your bottle with the dispenser so thats great to avoid the use of plastic , even you have cups and hot water to make your coffee or tea ! 100 % recommend !

• Aisyah (10/5): Exceptional - Very strategic location, less than 1km to Kuching Waterfront. 7-Eleven is just across the homestay. The Hills Mall is next door. I love staying here because even though it’s called a homestay and I stayed in a dorm, the atmosphere is quiet. Other guests respect each other’s privacy. The dorm is cool, clean, and organized. It’s equipped with a pantry, a fridge, an induction cooker, and a water filter My friend stayed in a private room, but he said it was a bit noisy due to karaoke sounds from a nearby club.
• Raymond (10/5): Super budget and comfortable stay. - Walking distance to restaurants, 7 eleven, Hilton Hotel. As its backpacker hostel, expect a little bit of noise. Advise to bring ear plugs and eye masks for better sleep. Drinking water is available, both hot and room temperature. Bed was comfortable. Locker is provided for personal belongings. Self check in and out. Very convenient. Two types of bunk beds; narrow and wide entrance. No space to put luggage close to the bed.
• Tzur (9/5): Superb - Great hostel with excellent service and a friendly atmosphere. The location is perfect, and there’s access to a kitchen and a pleasant shared area. One small suggestion: it would be nice to add a sofa or some extra comfortable chairs in the common area to make it even cozier. Big thanks for the warm hospitality! Next time I’m in town, I’ll definitely choose to stay here again.

Ms adelyn was helpful over whatsapp. No staff on site so you have to figure it out on your own, creates a separated vibe, hard to meet people to share transport or go together to do things. Also I like to check in with someone when I'm going out as a solo traveller for safety, this was not possible because no reception. No luggage storage for when you go stay over at the national park.

I was due to stay for 3 nights and moved after the first night. The sheets and blanket hard marks on, very thin mattress and initial an extremely noisy bunk bed but we agreed for me to love to another bed. I’m not a fussy person having travelled all over the world and stayed on shared accommodation but this was not for me.
