For the cost the room was not ideal. Only 1 plug point, a shower hose that was too short and a broken kettle that never got replaced. Compared to our stay 1 week earlier it was disappointing. Food very very hot !

The Hotel is tired, it needs to be given a uplift to brighten the public areas, the windows need a good clean, so do the window frames, the bathroom definitely needs updating. Reception needs a deep cleaned. The restaurant seating was stained. Our Driver said the room he was offered was shared by 6 but was in terrible condition. He decided to stay elsewhere! I can never understand why there's a difference between the cleaning and facilities provided! Shame

As soon as we arrived, they asked us what you would like to drink, and we asked what drinks you had and ordered it but they billed us for drinks and said only hot water from room kettle is only complementary not the drinks. They should have explained it properly before. Wash rooms, no shampoo, only soap not good 😐.

Jim (9/5): Wrong room but not necessarily a bad thing - Clean spacious room. I originally booked a room with a balcony and did not get it, quick note the room they brought me too was clean big and spacious so I did not complain and took it as I was happy staying there.

Ramm (6/5): Food was terrible - The restaurant served food that was not tasty. Hoppers, Kothu were not freshly. The meat inside the Kothu was dried and nor edible. The hoppers looked as it were warmed up and tasted bad. When this pointed out we were told that it was freshly made either slimy smile 😡

The comfort, amenities, and especially the warm and attentive staff made my experience truly enjoyable. The food was excellent, with generous portions that added to the delight. I thoroughly enjoyed my two-night stay and will definitely choose Hotel Oviya for all my future visits to Vavuniya.

Peter (8/5): Shelter from the busy street - Helpful staff. An undercover parking for my motorbike. The restaurant attached. The hotel was quite a welcome surprise given the streets surrounding it. It is spacious and modern (for the area). Ask for a room overlooking the lake. A small point - not having a beer on sale in the restaurant.
Senthuran (10/5): Lovely Stay at Hotel Oviya - We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Oviya in Vavuniya! The town view from the hotel was really nice, and it made for a pleasant and convenience throughout our visit. The receptionist team was very helpful, arranging a room for us and also taking care of our van driver’s needs. They were quick to assist with our breakfast requests, ensuring everything went smoothly. Overall, we had a great experience at the hotel, and we would definitely recommend it for anyone visiting the area!
Peter (8/5): Good place to stay on route to elsewhere - The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a supervised car park. Busy street outside but that's not an issue when inside the hotel.

Mathew (10/5): Exceptional - Randomly stopped in Vavuniya as it was getting a bit late and I was driving my Tuk Tuk to Anuradhapura. This is a really nice place to stay. Very comfortable, fancy hotel with room service which I am not used to! This town has a bit going on, very vibrant place. Worth a look for sure!
