Guest Reviews
- Robert (7/5): -
- Teresa (2/5): My husband and I were unable to get a full night's sleep. - The location was on the direct route to our destination. It was located in a quiet town. The room seemed clean. The room and furniture were very outdated. The knob came off of the shower faucet while I was showering. The bed had a metal frame with no box spring. The mattress was not a thick mattress and it felt lumpy and way too firm. The heater fan was extremely loud, so every time it kicked on it disturbed our sleep. I am not very picky when it comes to a hotel room. As long as it has a good mattress, I am satisfied. There were too many negatives to overlook this time.

- Stella (8/5): Very good - The clerk was friendly.
The room was extremely clean.
The beds were comfortable. Would have liked to have access to coffee. Only two towels and two washcloths for three people.
- Sosa (1/5): Bad -
- Prudence (1/5): I did not stay there due to uncomfortable obvious sexism. - scariness sexism
- Aguilera (7/5): Good -
- Brandon (10/5): Nice and clean for small town liveing - Vary nice Not thing
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- David (10/5): Room was very clean and family ran business that takes pride in providing service. - Proximity to my DJ gig I sometimes don’t do well on harder mattresses
- V (7/5): Simple quick stay for business. - Family place simple accommodation. Bathroom light didn’t work and bathroom needed improvement. The lights outside the rooms were so bright 1000’s of bugs flooded the room. I wanted to look at the stars but impossible. Too bright. Needed screen doors or lights that come on with movement only.
- Robert (7/5): Good -
- Michelle (6/5): Pleasant -
- Clelia (10/5): Great Comfy Budget-Friendly Stay - The room was easy to access from an outside door with car parking right in front of the room! Great shower and comfy bed! Nothing
- Joseph (8/5): Very good - For the money it was ok. Don't expect high end room. This is a typical old hotel in a small town. Old furniture low end room. It work for me.
- Francesco (2/5): Beware of bed bugs. - Staff accommodated a late arrival. Check in was easy and fast. There are bed bugs, The next day, after check out, i realized that i have many bug bites on my arms and hands.
- Pjohnston2 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (8/5): Very good - Room appeared recently remodeled. New mattress and bedspread. Laminated floors. New dresser and headboard. Room needs better nightstand lamp, one that has sockets to charge Cell phones.
- Cain (8/5): Very good -
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good -
- Lindsay (5/5): Slightly less than minimalistic - Cheap. Quiet. Air conditioner and wifi worked. Absolute minimum, or less--no rugs or carpets, no wall art, and no coffee or coffee maker! (Or any kind of breakfast.) Had to drive 45 minutes in the morning uncaffienated. Usually I like staying at these no-nonsense unbranded tiny-town motels, but this one was totally uncharming; it felt like the owner took no pride in making it comfortable, much less homey.
- Tamara (3/5): Poor - The cost for a room $15 per pet. No coffee in room. No bathtub. No conditioner, no Kleenex. Towels and washcloths were grossly gray colored. If you want a shower, turn the hot tap on for 15 minutes before you have warm water.
- Terry (5/5): The stay was adequate for my needs, nothing more. - No breakfast was served. The location was adequate. The staff was professional, but not customer service oriented. Operating hours for check out were too restrictive.
- Eleanor (8/5): Very good -
- Donald (9/5): Superb -
- Sheree (8/5): Amazing concert at the Chri - No breakfast at motel or in town!! Curtains didn't to be blackout ones. To bright in the room.
- Joshua (9/5): Superb -
- Wendy (5/5): It served our needs and we were happy to be able to stop driving in a record snowstorm. - We were caught in a snowstorm and thrilled to be able to get off the road. It was adequate and being clean was a bonus. We paid extra for 2 small dogs. Could have had a coffee pot. Towels were very old and threadbare.
- Vicki (9/5): Superb -
- Meredith (7/5): Our stay was good - Room was clean; heating unit was good; fridge and microwave worked. Location was a good. One bed was very firm and one was very comfortable; some light bulbs were out; No coffee pot in the room. Attendant was difficult to understand.
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Mary (5/5): The booking process was easy and efficient; staff helpful setting up WIFI. - Location is great for a visit to Marion. I missed being able to fix a cup of coffee.
- Stme23 (8/5): Very good -
- Deborah (8/5): Very good - Cleaner than last year. Looked to have been updated. Carpet replaced with hard flooring, new vanity, etc.
. No coffeemaker in room, no ice maker on site. Only 1 half used toilet paper roll in room.
- Everett (7/5): Decent for the price, closest I could find to our activity. - There wasn't one. OTOH, we didn't expect, or need, one. It is an older property, refurbished from a 60s or 70s era down and out, like the older Motel 6s. Combined with relatively poor parking lot lighting, it made the women in our party a little nervous.
- Najibullah (8/5): Very good -
- Matt (6/5): Not a top level hotel - This is not a hotel you want to take your wife to. It is okay for a man on his own but it did not meet my expectations. The staff was friendly. Check in was slow and tedious since I had booked through Hotels.com. The total cost was more than quoted because they charged a service fee for using a credit card. The room itself was clean but the carpet was dirty and the sheets were dirty on one of the two beds. We were supposed to have a room with a queen bed.
- Kathidw (9/5): Good stay - Staff is amazing. Rooms are big and comfortable. We really liked everything with that being said the owners are updating the rooms. 😊
- Kathidw (10/5): Exceptional - Staff was amazing I really have nothing bad to say. It's just an older motel
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Kelly (7/5): Good -
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -

- Michael (3/5): Poor -
- Melanie (2/5): Wouldn’t ever stay here again. - Close location to the recreation venue Room was gross. Walls and carpet covered in stains. Beds are so old and broken in they basically go flat when you lay or sit on them. Bathroom sink barely drains.the shower head points at the wall and won’t move, without moving the entire pipe inside the wall. Bath towels smell like cat pee, and we’re thin, old and brown colored(white towels)
- Vicki (8/5): Very good -
- Meredith (7/5): The motel is basic. Small, but it met our needs for the night. Cleanliness was a plus. - Room was clean, beds were comfortable, staff was friendly, the location was good and the value was good. No coffee pot and no place to hang clothes.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (6/5): Pleasant - It was great place for the price. The towels and linens were not the best quality it is far from any big town.
- William (9/5): A very nice place to stay in rural Kansas, where life has a slower pace. - Everything was very clean and well-kept. I would have liked an extra pillow or two, but I did not ask for these, and the management probably would have been happy to give them to me.
- Jordan (1/5): I am all for little run down hotels/motels for a cheap stay as long as they are clean. It was gross. - Very cheap, easy to book. Simple parking. The room was very dirty. Stained bedding with hair and crumbs on it, room smelled like mildew, clumps of hair in corners of the hard floors, clumps of overall dirt/food on carpet. The bathroom has a sewer smell. I’m all for a cheap room as long as it is clean. This was nasty. We debated even sleeping on the bedding or just getting a different place to stay.
- Anonymous (4/5): Disappointing -
- William (8/5): Very good -
- Ca (8/5): Very good - Staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice, bigger than I expected and so was the bathroom. I will stay there again next time I am in Marion Ks.
- Kathy (8/5): Fun step I. Time - Very clean, kind of vintage, clean clean and comfortable!
- Greg (10/5): Good stay for work - Nice hotel and spacious room decent breakfast will stay here if in the area again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Staff did not know how to deal with CC issues. Over charged me and had no idea how to fix it.
- Jessica (10/5): Awesome - We arrived much later than expected (middle of the night early morning), the owner was very nice and efficient getting us set. The hotel itself was one of the cleanest I have ever been to both outside and inside. I can't say enough positive things about the owner and hotel, if my son wi d's up in college out there we will always use this hotel on our visits
- Stephanie (4/5): Will not stay here again - Bathroom did not have an electrical outlet. No blackout curtains. While checking in, I was told a higher price than what I reserved. I showed my confirmation with the price and owners still called to get the price while I had to wait to check in.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Fine for just one night, good price and nice people, not the cleanest
- Mike (6/5): I would pass... - The hotel managers did not speak English which made for any kind of contact to be uncomfortable and strained. We chose to stay in Marion vs Hillsboro because the price was far better than Hillsboro. However starting on Friday morning they were redoing the roof of the motel. This was never conveyed to me prior to checking or even when we checked in. Then on Saturday morning they had a high powered generator going that we could hear in the 2nd complex and they were continuing roofing. The managers were even up on the roof as we drove away and they waved. Also one of the rooms had ants. Any time I did need to talk to the managers, I was greeted with a half smile and very little enthusiasm to even be there.
- Isabel (8/5): Convenient and good price - Very friendly and accommodating owner.
- Scott (4/5): Not a good stay. - Only motel in the area with vacancy. Appeared to be mostly a transient motel. Office was dark and cluttered. Did not know we had a reservation when we got there. Room was remodeled sometime in the 90s and mattresses were worn out.
