Guest Reviews
Sinon bonne chambre.
- Bernard (6/5): Ok for people on a budget - Cheap and cheerful
- Gemma (10/5): Lovely, comfortable hotel - I’ve stayed in Le Touquet a few times. This is the first time I’ve had to pay City Tax to the hotel on arrival.
Lovely little hotel on a quiet street only a 2 minute walk to the centre I had a superior room with a balcony. The room was clean, bed very comfortable, bathroom was new and I had no problem with hot water. Check in was friendly and straight forward. The balcony had a table and chairs.
There’s no lift. No fridge in the room.
Only problem i had were the people in the room above me were very noisy at times. I guess because this is an old building there’s no sound proofing. Reception is closed after 8pm. We were given a door key for returning after 8pm.
Parking is on the street and had to be paid for but in my experience that’s normal for most hotels in Le Touquet.
I would definitely stay here again.
- Ccddrr (8/5): Lovely little hotel - As often found in Le Touquet this was an old building full of character. I Stayed in a superior room with a balcony. Check was friendly and efficient. The room was clean, bathroom clean & modern. No fridge but I didn’t need one. I found the bed really comfortable and slept very well. Wifi worked well. My shower always had hot water. Situated on a quiet side street only a 2 minute walk to the centre. The balcony had a table & chairs. Front door key is given as reception finished at 8pm.
The only problem i had was the people above me were very very noisy!! Thumping around, at times it sounded like they were moving furniture! I couldn’t contact reception because it was after 8pm. I guess the soundproofing isn’t so good as the building is older.
In saying this I would definitely stay here again.

A recommander vivement !
- patrick (10/5): - Jolie chambre.
- rogermcarey (6/5): Horrible and completely unjustifiable wifi experience - Acceptable for a night. But the free wifi is disgraceful - the hotel has partnered up with a bunch that takes all your data, forces you to accept marketing emails, and then threatens to cut off your connection unless you view commercials. In this day and age there is simply no justification for this awful kind of connectivity. Everyone else offers free no-strings, no catches connectivity (it costs them virtually nothing beyond the hotel's own connection cost). Why this dreadful stone age system at the Equinoxe? Unacceptable. Really.
- Felicity (10/5): - Beautiful bedroom with balcony - lovely linen and kettle in room is a nice touch
- Keith (8/5): Hotel equinox - Very friendly and helpful staff, rooms a little small but very comfortable, really enjoyed our stay excellent location very close to beach, shops and restaurants
- Karen (10/5): Wonderful - Really brilliant would noyt stay anywhere else perfect
- Cecile (2/5): Nul !
Grand merci
- F8160XMjoannec (6/5): Disappointed - Location is excellent, a short walk to both the beach and the town. That said, the ground floor room we had was so small and frankly not awfully clean, rubbish under the bed. The en suite was nothing more than a cupboard and it was almost impossible to turn round it. Neither of us was able to bend over the sink due to the massive and completely unnecessary cabinet on the wall directly above it. The large step up into the shower made the room useless for any one with mobility issues.
Breakfast was good however and the staff very pleasant.
Would not recommend though.
- jemmaegrose (4/5): Disappointed - Me and my partner stayed here for a last minute trip Thursday - Sunday. The location of the hotel is great, can walk to the beach / town centre in minutes but that’s the only good thing about the hotel! The walls are VERY thin you can hear everything - doesn’t help when your neighbour goes in and out of the room 20+ times a morning. The room we had was on the second floor, up very steep stairs and was tiny! Not very clean either. The paint on the shower tray has half peeled off and scuffs up the walls.
Toilet paper was ‘lotus’ style, so pulled sheet by sheet out of a holder - for €100 per night you’d expect a roll!
Out of the 3 nights stayed we had a cleaner come in to make beds / change towels etc once.
It served its purpose for the location that’s it, definitely wouldn’t recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 👍
- 1NigelT (8/5): A pleasant hotel in a good location. - The hotel is situated in a quiet street leading to the beach..When we arrived, the manager kindly swopped our room from upstairs to ground floor. (the stairs perhaps ? ) The room was comfortable with a large bay window. The bathroom was small, bright and clean. We slept well for 2 nights and were not disturbed by traffic or other guests. Everything we wanted was within 5 - 10 minutes walk. This hotel is very good value for money with friendly pleasant staff.
- 873johnr (8/5): Good - Great location and was pointed to free parking,100m away.Room was good and shower. Comfy bed and a very good french breakfast. The room would be better with a small fridge and water. If anything to moan about it would be the wifi, step outside of the room and it was good.Nice people in charge, helpful and friendly. The bar/tabac/PMU in the market place is worth a visit.I made several.
- EvaMurMar (2/5): Tiny does not start to describe it! - We booked through booking.com and pictures and reviews looked quite promising. At the reception, Arnaud was hyper, mega-kind but when we got to the room we wanted to cry. Dark brown and grey, depressing. Bed cornered against to walls. Available space was, you stand next to the bed and stretch one arm but folded at the elbow and you are touching the other wall. The wardrobe was to pieces of wood put together but a suit jacket would not fit in length, let alone a dress. The bathroom, we believe, had been built where the actual wardrobe must have been! To brush your teeth was ok, but to rinse your mouth, or comb your hair, you had to open the door. It was a kind of Tetris. We stayed 3 days and there was so little storage place that we had to put our stuff on the flor when we slept, and on top of the bed when we were out...so we could opened the door. At 80€/night is a bit of a rip off and totally disappointing. 2 minutes to the beach and main streets. Very quiet at night and breakfast was good
- grit0709 (6/5): Way better than expected/Mieux que prévu - Really was fine. Room was big although heard that some much smaller. Bathroom excellent. Stayed with a group of golfers and found the hotel to be very adequate and in a great position. Breakfast also good although breakfast room not big enough if all guests came down together. Stayed 3 nights. Probably not the place to stay for a week or to take your wife, but really more than good enough for it’s 2 star rating.
Plenty of parking nearby on the roadside but most of it chargeable.
- V2915NZlisap (8/5): Pleasantly surprised but may be challenging if your as light sleeper. - The hotel is only a minutes walk from the beach which was very handy. It is also only 5 minutes from the main stretch of resturants and bars. Excellent location. The breakfast was amazing but quite pricey at 11 euros per person. I was about concerned after reading some reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. I would stay here again as the staff made us feel very welcome. Room was cleaned every day as well.
The walls were paper thin so you could hear most things. It was fine when no one else was about but quite noisy in the night. We had read this in the reviews previously so we knew what to expect. The other downside is there is no parking. It was explained very well to us but after a quick trip to tourist info... They give you a map when you arrive, red you pay all day every day and it's expensive. Green you only pay at the weekend between certain hours. If you find a space which is not green or red it's free but these are a bit of a walk from the hotel.
A part cela rien à dire.
- Y7201FKdianeb (8/5): Great location - Stayed here for 2 nights, fantastic location in the centre of town. Quirky little place. Room was small but adequate for a short stay. Read some bad reviews, but we thought it was fine. Clean, yes a bit tired looking but for a budget hotel it did the job perfectly. Wasn't too noisy as others have said but we were on the top floor. Nothing to complain about and would definitely stay again. Maybe for a longer duration it might have seemed too small but perfect for a couple of nights.
- stan521 (2/5): No sleep - If you like your sleep do not use this hotel the walls are thin and you can hear what is going on in attached rooms with the plumbing being the worst. Booked for one week stay early June had to leave after one night due to lack of sleep no refund had to pay for the full week no reduction or discount offered. Would not recommend this hotel.
- HardwireTag (6/5): An ok place to stay, if only for a short stay - This was my second stay in Le Touquet which in itself is a nice coastal town with a lovely produce market on the weekend. I must state before I continue that I fully understand this is a budget/value hotel, however, I have stayed in another hotel in the same location for the same price point previously which I considered better value for money.
We booked online and so check in was painless, the person who checked us in spoke very little English (this clearly will not affect my review score as it is my failing not to speak French) but enough for us to get by and ask about the times the market is open etc. It was during the check in that we noticed the hotel has this rather strange and constant smell of chocolate which initially is very pleasing....but later on becomes a bit much leading you to rush to your room and spend no time conversing with the staff.
Space in the hotel is an absolute premium and check in for three men was....challenging. The rooms continued this theme, but for the cost, I have to say I found the room size to be adequate. What I did not find adequate was the washing facilities, one of the rooms we had the shower leaked all over the bathroom, one had little to no water pressure and in mine the shower was the kind that fits onto the bath taps and there was no rail to hold the shower head, thus I had to wash with one hand holding the shower head the whole time.
The walls and ceilings are paper thin, conversations in the breakfast room and worse sounds from a poor chap straining in his toilet in the room above me are more than audible even with the TV on in the background.
The location seemed quite good, a two-minute walk from the main street leading onto the market area and less than a minute from the beach, but the hotel provides no parking with the closest on-street parking a couple of roads away. For most people this should not be a problem as crime seems relatively low however, some may be on an overnight "booze cruise" as we were and thus leaving a vehicle on a public street was a slight concern.
I guess the one issue that stuck in my mind the most was security. You were presented with a very old fashioned style of key attached to a large metal fob (for want of a better description) and told which key is for the room and front door, but and here is the kicker, the hotel staff will not hold the keys while you go out and thus you are left facing a choice of keeping this key and bookmark size slab of metal in your pockets (I did say this trip was three men and thus not a handbag in sight) or you could hang you key on a rack just inside the door where anyone can take your key and visit the belongings in your room. We actually ended up taking the keys (very uncomfortable in a jean pocket as would not fit in a regular jacket pocket) with us for the evening.
The only other issue was that all of us were woken pre 5am by the sounds of the staff getting ready for breakfast, pots and pans crashing around rattled up not just to the first but also to the second floor, not ideal when we had all been out until around midnight enjoying the local nightlife only a few hours prior.
Overall, with the exceptions of checking space (which is basically under the stairs) and the security issue with the keys I would say this hotel is in a good location and is reasonable for the price, however I probably would prefer to stay in the other hotel I visited previously if I were to visit this town again.
