- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice big house that's being converted to let out a few rooms. The house is beautiful, our room was beautiful though a bit smaller than we hoped. The only issue we have is that, since this is not a hotel, there's limited flexibility for check in and check out. This wasn't very clear when we booked on Expedia; in fact, I had chosen Expedia over AirBnB because I wanted the flexibility of being able to check in easily, as I wouldn't know for sure what time I'd get to the property. When we got to the front door on the day of check in, we had to ring the doorbell for 10 - 15 minutes before someone came to open, and by that time we were getting really worried that we'd be stranded in Vancouver without a place to stay. We later discovered that they had tried to get in touch with us, but getting in touch last minute with international guests is not always a good idea - we didn't have an internet connection on all the time; I didn't get a call from an unknown number but even if I did I might not have answered it because it would have cost me £1 (CAD 1.7) per minute. Everything was good once we got in - the host was welcoming, very well organised, helped us with everything we needed and provided great advice on visiting the city.

I was able to check in early and when I accidentally locked myself from my room I was able to quickly get ahold of the owner for help.

I was pleased that it was closer to the airport then I thought. Its a residential area. It was very quiet in the house. Just tea and coffee was supplied for breakfast but that was okay.

- Luke (4/5): - Basement has been cut up into many small rooms. 2 bathrooms shared amongst 5 bedrooms which are single to multiple occupancy. Not sure how the accommodations would meet fire safety regulations. Hear other guests coming and going. The exercise equipment consists of a few free weights and a pretty old treadmill in the living room. Breakfast was not at all appealing. We passed. Would not stay here again.

- David (8/5): A good night in Vancouver - We enjoyed our stay at the White House B&B in Vancouver. Our hostess, Gita, was gracious and helpful. The house is beautiful (though the rooms are a bit small and the bathroom was shared), as are many of the houses in the neighborhood. And we especially enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and the convenience of being near a Canada Line station (a short bus ride away, or you could walk it). One word of warning: there are about a dozen steps you have to go up to get into the house, and then a flight of stairs to the second floor–it may be a problem for the elderly or handicapped. But overall, we would recommend the White House to anyone staying one or more nights in lovely Vancouver.

It appeared to be older and it was not very comfortable. That would be the only thing stopping me from going back. The location was great for what I was doing and the small kitchen in the room was convenient. Beautiful and well kept home.
- Melissa (6/5): Nice house in Vancouver neighborhood - The staff, Gita, was a very lovely lady- friendly, attentive, and we had a good conversation over breakfast. The entire house was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. The biggest downside is that we requested a room with 2 beds. The main bed was great, but the second felt like a plastic sleepaway camp style mattress- very uncomfortable. Also, the walls were paper thin- we could hear everything outside the room, in the room next to us, and even the plumbing from upstairs, which made it really tough to sleep.

Bedroom was small but bed was very comfortable. Continental Breakfast was delicious and upscale. Homemade muffins and Greek yogurt just a part of offerings. Great suggestions by owner of what to see in Vancouver. She wanted you to have a wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend.

The friendly helpful owner puts out all the fixings for a delightful light breakfast. The room I had was clean and well appointed. The mattress and the base had issues but when carefully positioned were comfortable. In the night the mattress tends to work its way off the base if you are a restless sleeper. The shower and bathroom were great and easily accesssble. Great stay.
