• Haroon (10/5): Amazing Ryokan, feels and looks like a family run Ryokan - Amazing place, even though the city feels like a ski town, i know that it is, it still has a lot to offer for “off-season” as well. Myoko region has amazing onsens and with the weather going from one extreme to another it is perfect for onsen hoping and then going for local ponds and waterfalls. Amazing and warm place to stay for all those activities. The owner of the place is very kind and the staff super helpful and friendly. They have an amazing bath as well. I didn’t like that my time there ended so soon :(

• 辰 (8/5): ひなびた温泉宿を満喫 - 朝食が美味しかったです。蕗味噌や、コゴミがあって、春を味わえました。お風呂が温泉で、気持ち良かったです。施設は古いですが、きれいに清掃されていて、気持ち良く使えました。妙高温泉を気軽に体験できる旅館は、香風館だけなので、また、来てみたいです。 お部屋の掛け布団カバーは、全面カバーだと、もっと快適ですね。
• Megumi (8/5): 妙高山、白米、新潟最高◎ - 客室から妙高山がきれいに見えて、とても清々しい目覚めを体感できました。朝食で白米をいただきましたが、とっても甘くておいしくて、新潟に来たぞ〜！という気持ちが沁み渡りました。 おかわりを言うの恥ずかしいなと思っていたら、女将さんがさりげなくお声がけしてくださり食いしん坊は嬉しかったです。 深夜早朝も入れる温泉はありがたい。 露天風呂の開放感も気持ちよかった。 建物、設備の老朽化が気になりました。 お部屋のユニットバス上部の本来であれば換気扇のある部分？のフタがなく、中の排気管？の丸い穴が見えていてギョッとしました。あれはちょっと修繕したほうがいいです。。

• Robert (9/5): Spacious, traditional tatami room quite near the station - A spacious tatami room with a window seating area. A relatively short walk to Myoko Kogen station which was important on this trip. On site sento. Nothing not to like.
• Manami (9/5): 昭和な感じの居心地の良い宿 - レトロな感じの温泉旅館で風情があります。和室の部屋を2名で利用しましたが、広くて快適でした。スタッフの方たちも感じよかったです。今回は朝食のみでしたが、次回は夕食もいただきたいと思います。 周りには商業施設がないですが、その分静かで長閑です。朝食の時にコーヒーが飲めたらよかったです。

However the overall place is a dated , my family and I stayed at a room on the 3rd floor at the annex building which had no lift but still manageable. The windows looked out to a small road which there wild macque monkeys roaming around , it was a nice sight Meal wise was good both dinner and breakfast. Overall a pleasant stay . Room is a little Dated in need of an update

• IKUO (1/5): あまり書きたくは無いけど - お米が美味しかった。 ①靴は下駄箱なく玄関に脱ぎ置きで不安。 ②お部屋は写真とは異なります。 　通路狭いです。 　建具古く障子破れ等あり。壁亀裂穴あり。 　布団カバーは首回りのみのもので少し・・・。 ③お風呂（温泉） 　脱衣所の清掃が頻繁にされているか？？？ 　洗い場は椅子、桶とも乱雑。 　洗い場の個々の電灯のカバーが一部外されて 　いて電灯がむき出しになっていて危険では。 　湯量は内湯・外湯とも非常に少ない。 　源泉かけ流しとは思えない。 　24時間入浴可はありがたいが、黒い湯の花な 　のか湯口下の浴槽隅はヌメりあり剥がれると 　黒い浮遊物が湯桶の中を漂う。

• Veronika (10/5): Útulný tradiční ryokan s přátelskou atmosférou. - Krásný a útulný hotel, rodinné prostředí, onsen veřejný i soukromý, praktické vybavení, vynikající tradiční snídaně i večeře. Hostitel velmi milý, nápomocný, ochotný poradit, dovezl nás na nádraží. Hotel má transfer do lyžařských stredisek. Neshledáváme žádné nedostatky.

Le coût de la location a doublé à mon arrivée ce qui équivalait à 200$ CAN la nuit. C'est beaucoup trop pour une chambre défraichi avec toiles d'araignées au plafond. Malheureusement, nous ne recommanderons pas l'emplacement.

The owner is the 4th generation in over 100 years and is always present. Upgrade in conservation and maintenance can make this property even better.

Le village de Myoko est très calme et l’auberge propose une navette vers les pistes de ski. Une adresse bon marché et chaleureuse.

• Graeme (3/5): Old property in need of significant renovation. Really car to stay at this property as difficult to get around otherwise - The Onsen and shuttle to ski areas. Property building in poor condition. My room had significant cracks in the walls, peeling wall paper and walls where wet to touch. A section of the rooms floor was constantly wet. Breakfast was very basic and not very appealing. You could have either Japanese or Western. Over priced accommodation for what you get. Really need a car to stay at this property, as it’s some distance from ski resorts

• Richard (8/5): Great authentic Japanese experience with great onsen. Some rooms are a bit tired. Friendly staff, easy access to the sk - Very authentic Japanese, great onsen and good restaurant. Japanese breakfast included was tasty and different. Husband and wife that ran the hotel are friendly and very helpful. There are some great little cafes and restaurants located nearby. Some rooms and parts of the hotel are a bit dated and in need of a refresh. I didn’t realise we had booked a room with no bathroom. There is a shared toilet however no personal showers you can only bath on the public onsen or pay 2500yen for a private onsen. The onsens are really clean and nice though.

Older property and staff are managing lots of people so we found sometimes they’d get confused. Not much to eat nearby

The meals were excellent, both in quality and value. The service was the best we’ve ever had. The shuttle to the ski field with a very friendly driver. Onsen was our favourite of the trip. Perfect temperature and views of the mountains.

• Kunasaigaran (10/5): Fantastic stay... fantastic people... fantastic experience! Thumbs up! - The location was excellent! Easy to find... Even though the onsen hotel is a little dated but it was very clean and comfortable. We just loved the vibe and atmosphere... Just like being in a family home... we took the ensuite room... The owner and staff are very friendly and rendered superb service... he is very accommodating to our requests in transportation to and from the Akakura Ski Resort... It snowed the night we came in and everything turned really magical.... The owner recommended the resort for our 2 kids as they are just beginner level, took lessons too... but they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and learnt skiing! They loved the onsen too... We loved the place and wouldn't think twice to stay again...truly... Great memories... Recommended... None... nothing that we didnt like ... nothing that we would have changed.. It was a really nice experience... we had a great time and will stay here again... Will not forget the place... really nice place to be...

• noburo (8/5): 味わいのある温泉風呂でくつろいで。 - 朝食が美味しかったですね。妙高で採れたコシヒカリが美味しくて、おかわりを二回しました。タンパク質も十分にとれました。特に良かった点は、風呂です。太い柱で組んである浴室・浴槽は落ち着き、趣きがあります。つい隣にいた客と話しが進みました。 トイレの電気のスイッチがどこにあるのか分かりませんでした。

The included traditional japanese breakfast was amazing. the room was really dusty with spider webs all over it. The blanket had a lot of stains and seemed unwashed. After i told that to the receptionist, he gave me a “new” one which was super dusty as well.

• 鍾佳芸 (8/5): - 房間有比較古老了點 但床鋪到是很舒服又溫暖 特別喜歡浴場 寬敞舒適 溫泉的溫度也剛好
• telo (10/5): - Amazing room and great onsen. The owners were so sweet and I really enjoyed my stay there. Myokokogen was so beautiful and they helped us with directions the next day to tsubame onsen. He also gave us a ride to the bus station since we were running a bit late. I would love to stay again. Also breakfast was so yummy, I wish we had dinner there! Its just an older building so you can tell it has seen some better days. There were a few cracks in the plaster but it was very clean and neat.

• Gillian (9/5): A short but pleasant stay . - The view from my room was lovely and the bed was comfortable. The owner was very helpful organising taxis for me to visit the mountain and waterfall. Transfers to and from station were excellent and free of charge. I prefer single gender onsen to relax better but the one at Kofukan is mixed.
• Grant Brad (9/5): - We loved the traditional rooms, yukata and onsen. Opening our window in the morning and seeing snow monkeys outside, was a real surprise. Our meals were delicious and we enjoyed the atmosphere.
• Sch (9/5): Empfehlenswert! - Sehr gutes japanisches Frühstück. Sehr sympathische Gastgeber. Gratis Transfer vom/zum Bahnhof.
• YONG SIK (6/5): - 저녁, 아침모두 맛있었고, 특히 다음날 라운딩일정상 조금 일찍 체크아웃을 해야 했기에 사정을 말씀드렸더니 흔쾌히 조식시간을 당겨 주셔서 매우 감사하게 생각합니다. 오래된 건물이라 룸내 화장실이 너무 작아서 사용에 불편했어요
