- Baylor (8/5): Free parking, early excess, location, location, location - They let us in early and had a parking space
- Richards (1/5): would like a refund at least partial.. - nothing! very uncomfortable not warm or welcoming. not as all as described in the listing. dirty toilet & coffee pot. there is no living room; just a small couch at top of stairs. Listing should clearly explain the stairs at the very top ( we were on the 3rd floor) that they are curved with no banister is some spot were needed. Non-refundable is told before booking. Then ya find out ! Unbelievable ! It rained the entire day we were there and only had 4 hard chairs to sit on in the kitchen. Not even a box of Kleenex! For $700.00 we expected better!
- Bridget (8/5): Friends visiting Salem for the first time apartment clean and convenient - Walking distance to all activities
Very clean
Owner quick with responses Small one spot to park but at least there was one!!
- Jason (10/5): Great stay! Great place! - The whole floor was clean and organized. The whole floor also felt inviting and comforting. We enjoyed how close we where to everthing. We were both so happy with found this apartment.
- Kristal (10/5): I would definitely go again - It was very close to everything
- Jaqueline (6/5): - The property was not in the best condition it was not very clean and the supplier said it can accommodate 8 people but the pull out coach was a single person bed with no extra bedding. Initially we booked for 5 people and then he let him know we had added 3 more total of 8 people which was the max allowed. He said it was $40 per person which is 120 for 3 people plus $40 per night per person which is another $120
He charged us $360 and wanted it Zelled to him instead of completing transaction through Expedia where I originally booked. It was all just to suspicious and didn’t seem right and we were over charged.
The house was not the cleanest the pillow cases looked like they hadn’t been washed. The bathrooms walls had water bubbles as if there was a leak in between the walls. Some of the girls got sick let’s hope we weren’t exposed to mold
It was close to downtown that was the only good thing.
I did message the Person when we got to the house and to this day no response
- Ryan (10/5): Great place! Very clean and well kept. Plenty of room for the five of us. Would definitely love to come again 10/10 -

- Wes (8/5): - Property was fine. It is well located to see the sites in Salem. Only negative was that the neighbors were a bit loud at night.
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb -
- Heather (4/5): Graduation weekend - Pros:
Very close to area activities
Room for 6 adults
Cons:
Everything about the kitchen was dirty and gross. Decided we wouldn’t be cooking anything and had to wash the dishes before we could use them.
No kitchen towels, just 1/2 roll of paper towels and one nasty sponge. Not enough eating utensils.
6 adults staying, only 5 bath towels and 4 hand towels. Had to go to Walmart to buy more towels and wash clothes.
Most of the furniture is well used and falling apart. Not very comfortable.
Besides the nightly fee and taxes we had to pay a facility fee. When I realized our reservation said 3 adults not 6, contacted the owner and had to pay additional $.
- Tonya (8/5): Very good -
- Susan (10/5): Great stay with lots of room - Large apartment comfortable and great location Nothing
- Kyle (8/5): Very good -
- Kelley (8/5): Perfect place to stay during Halloween week. You could walk downtown within 15 min. - The location was perfect, it was nice neighborhood. I liked that it had good size TVs and air conditioning in every bedroom.
The apartment was very clean and tidy. The full size bed in the 2nd bedroom the slates are a little too short and we had to keep putting them back on under the box springs. The stairs are very steep, narrow and spiral. I was with a friend that had an artificial leg, these stairs were a challenge. The Host did tell us about the stairs. We were aware, just for anyone else, you should know it's a little more than what's in the description.
- Bevinn (6/5): Great location - room bedding needs updating - Liked the layout and access. Parkimg was a bit unsure, but it worked out The two bedrooms really need new comforters and sheets / plllows. Musty and we were a group of women and I would really advocate for them to be changed out.
- Witmer (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic location to Essex Street and the wharf.
- Linda (8/5): overall a very good experience but waaaaay over priced - it was old with a lot of character, beds were fine, kitchen was fine shower could have been cleaner. Neighborhood was a bit loud and course the price was outrageous
- Jeni (10/5): If I ever come to Salem again, I would book this very apartment again. - It was very big and roomy. Very clean. Great location. Plenty of pillows and blankets and towels. Everything was great.
- Tonya (10/5): - Perfect place for visiting Salem easily walkable to all the fun and action!
- Benjamin (6/5): Overall, the apartment was an average value, with the best feature being the location. - The apartment offered the basics for a generally comfortable stay. The location is excellent for exploring Salem. The bedding could be newer and more comfortable. The living room wasn’t particularly inviting as a place to hang out. The terms regarding occupancy could be clearer. We were charged an additional $120 for one additional guest (a total of 4 people in a 3 bedroom — not unreasonable in my opinion), yet the terms indicated there was “no policy” regarding groups.
- Lorna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marianne (10/5): Spacious apartment ten minutes walk from historic district. - Very spacious top floor apartment. Comfortable beds.
Easy to walk into the town. We just stayed one night as we were continuing our hour to Maine.
We were able to park our car next to house but a 24 hour parking garage is not far if that space is not available and if there is no room on street.
The area seemed perfectly safe to walk around. It’s a proper neighbourhood with families on their porches enjoying the warm summer evening.
Alex gave us detailed instructions for check in.
- Michael (8/5): Very good - The location was great, nice large rooms with plenty of space for everyone and a little quirky. Could do with a touch more cutlery.
- Cardenas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alison (2/5): Disgusting - avoid at all costs - The location It was filthy dirty. The sheets on the beds were dirty with hairs on pillow. Mouse droppings under the kitchen cabinets and stains on the bedding.
Despite contacting the host on multiple occasions he did not resolve our issues.
- Nawat (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jan (8/5): We would return. It was a good fit for the family and only 15 minutes to downtown. - Nice set up for our family with three bedrooms, dining area, living room, etc. Add the kitchen, and we could have stayed there for a week! The only thing I didn't like was the condition of some of the houses on the street and street trash. I was a bit worried when I drove down the road. That said, Dow 40 was in great shape and indoors was perfect for us.
- Coleman (8/5): Very good - Close to attractions Nothing
- Kaley (9/5): Superb -
- April (4/5): Disappointing - It was clean. Dining area was okay Said it 'accommodated' 8 but that was unrealistic. Beds for 6 with a loveseat and small couch for the other two. Even the 6 yr old couldn't fit on the loveseat and at 5'6" I couldn't fit on the couch. No pillows or bedding to use on the couch and loveseat. Decorating looks like they simply cleared out a shelf at the thrift store and brought it home
No fan in the bathroom.had to leave the door open to shower. Apartments across the street looked boarded up. Parking was a joke! ' should be able to find parking on the street during the day'. At night you have to walk 20-15 minutes to a parking garage and then back in the dark as there are not many streetlights. Lots of posters on the wall but nothing went together kitchen is decent but small so fridge was in the ding room.
Air conditioning was a unit in the bedrooms and kitchen.
Would not stay here again or recommend it to others. Reminded me of a really old granny apartment with new paint on the walls
.I felt like it had been really misrepresented.
- Amanda (9/5): Great little place, close to walk and enjoy! - He was very easy to reach Nothing
- Susanna (9/5): Superb -
- Ellie (6/5): Pleasant - Location was good, check-in was easy. Alex was overly persistent prior to check in and provided unnecessary amounts of information.
The bath mat was very slippery and unsafe, and the shower curtain was ripped and poorly attached.
The house wasn't very clean - there was a drink in the bedroom, goldfish on the floor, and the kitchen and bathroom were dirty.
- Jeffrey (10/5): It was fantastic and would definitely do it again - It was fantastic with enough space for the five of us No communal area so we had to use one of the bedrooms as a sitting room
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Kenneth (7/5): Great location, easy walk to all the Salem attractions. - Great location. A bit run down, tough parking, and way overpriced, but we understand for this time of year in Salem. Tough parking, and a bit run down.
- Brandi (6/5): - This property was located perfectly and very near to all of the fun activities in Salem! The owner was very responsive and helpful! The only additional comments I would add is the two twin bedroom room really needs a mattress upgrade and is quite uncomfortable. There is no oven on the property so do not expect to bake any items. Other than that it is definitely a location I would book again.
- Janet (10/5): - This was a great spacious place! It was a great location to all the attractions and restaurants! We walked everywhere!
- Ingrid (8/5): - Area is questionable but didn’t feel unsafe once inside. Loud cars & music but quieted down by 11pm. Room for 2 cars but there was already a car there upon arrival so didn’t want to block them in so found over nite parking for $4 at the T station by bridge St. Apartment was spacious and accommodating.Quick walk to the harbor and downtown festivities!
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Linda (8/5): Very good -
- Wudh (9/5): Superb - Near the city but we have car. It's very big 3 bedrooms apartment. Fully kitchen utensils. Car parking was difficult to find space. No elevator to the third floor. No food shops near by we have to order the food delivery.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angelina (4/5): You get what you pay for - Proximity to attractions Dirty; beds had hairs in them; blankets were stained; ants in the living room
- Ashley (2/5): - This is in the most unsafe place in Salem
The day we get there the property owner came cause he arched you threw a camera and demanded $320 more because we had more than 4 people. Which we gave him he wanted a picture of my moms credit card we gave him cash
Then that night there was a fight outside a man got beaten up bad
Second night our party left but me and 2 children because how unsafe the neighborhood is
That night a couple men tried to attempt to break in
I called the police they came said the house across the street was shot 17 times and this house should not be allowed to be rented out do to the safety
I left that night with my children and called the landlord which does not respond I had to pay for a hotel to protect my children and the landlord will not give money back after police report was made and our safety was put in jeopardy
Even not staying our full stay having to pay for another hotel
- Karen (7/5): Good - Clean for most part Beds were uncomfortable. Bad area. Heard gunshots. Bed sheets stained. Not enough towels.
- Kathryn (6/5): Pleasant - The ceiling fans were caked with dust.
- Justin (9/5): Superb -
- Carrie (6/5): It met the needs of a traveler who needs a place economical place to stay without the intention of staying in the apartm - Hot & good pressure shower & the number of bedrooms. Alex was responsive and accommodating. Gave us more towels & let us store our baggage longer. The stairs to the rear apartment, (wasn’t aware of them, wish we would have known there were so many stairs) moldy coffee pot, no living room & beds were not comfortable. Not everyone cares about dish cloths & wash clothes but if providing towels corresponding wash towels are nice to have.
- Anonymous (5/5): Passable -
- Dorothy (8/5): Good experience. visitors should see a picture of the stairs. winding and steep. I'm 70. I did fine - location was close to everything. needed better lamp in bedroom. not bright enough to read. No plastic bowls for serving salads or pasta.
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Savannah (6/5): Pleasant - It was very clean and close to downtown
- Shelley (5/5): Passable -
- John (10/5): - Apartment was very clean and comfortable, had everything we needed, was within reasonable walking distance of the shops and attractions. Very strong negative was inability to communicate with landlord in weeks prior to our arrival, after booking. Was actually beginning to think it was a scam! But received detailed instructions and information a few days before check-in, via email, was then finally able to communicate questions. But until then was very stressed and frustrated with the whole process
- Teresa (7/5): Good -
- Angela (8/5): We had a wonderful time. - Location was good. Walking distance to almost everything. One bathroom was a problem a couple of times but plenty of hot water so completely doable.
- Christine (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay property manager was easy to communicate with. Area apartment was in was kind of scary.
- Anthony (7/5): Good -
- Tarquinio (7/5): Good -
- Patricia (7/5): Cute, affordable place near everything. - Loved how close we were to Front street. Apartment was cute and cozy. We had a super difficult time finding parking and the entire neighborhood had street cleaning signs . We had to move our car by 7am !
- Verified traveler (8/5): Best location in Salem! - You will not beat the location of this property in Salem. Walking distance from great restaurants and attractions. There are some very nice beaches nearby.
You will not find a better place to stay with 3 full bedrooms!
However, if you are sensitive to noise, this will likely be a trip of sleepless nights. There were multiple cars driving up the street past 10pm on Sunday with very loud music. The neighbor has a baby that can easily be heard. I slept great though!
- 50by50_andtheworld (7/5): Good -
- Caughel (4/5): Disappointing -
- Carina (7/5): It was fair - Beds were terribly uncomfortable and there was no living space. The pictures were deceiving on the site And not one bar of soap.
- Theressa (8/5): - You get what you pay for. If you are just looking for a place to sleep this will do. Just be aware. The 3rd floor apartment had no livingroom. The two full size beds were ok but the two twin beds were not comfortable at all. There are two flights of stairs that you must carry your bags up and down. It's located in a working clas neighborhood. Parking was a nightmare because of this we had to walk a few blocks to the apartment and didn't always feel safe.
- heather (8/5): - Cute space. Neighborhood was LOUD all night long. Walkable to Salem downtown and waterfront.
- Anthony David (2/5): - The description does not explain that it’s in the worst section of Salem. Cops knocked on our door at 3:30 am because there was a domestic dispute with a knife next door. We left after one night, having prepaid 3 days. Expedia won’t return our money. Terrible choice.
- Alex (10/5): Perfect spot for 3 weary travelers - Wonderful apartment! Our host was easy to contact and the experience was excellent. I would gladly stay there again next time I’m in Salem
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was such a great location to see Salem. We walked to most places we wanted to check out… the witch museum, Peabody museum and Pickering wharf - such fun food and shopping mixed in with history. We would stay her again when visiting Salem.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was located near downtown and easy to access.
- Gianna (2/5): - Area wasn’t the greatest. Wasn’t clean. Wouldn’t recommend.
- Shannon (10/5): My first Hotels.com experience - We had a great time and the space was clean and made nicely when we arrived. Communication with the property owner was fast and he answered all my questions I needed to know. Overall amazing experience I definitely wont forget!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great apartment, ok neighborhood - The apartment was lovely - clean, comfortable and had plenty of space. The neighborhood was.....ok. A bit noisy, a bit crowded and a little bit down-trodden. It was however walking distance to all the sights and shopping for a great price.
- Angela (8/5): - Cute and clean
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There was no power, the coffee machine barley worked, and no heat...cold showers too. An unfortunate stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - So the property is exactly as the owner stated... three spacious bedrooms a big eating area and a place to relax. Very clean and the code for entry and leaving was simple. I would rent from them again, my only issue to be honest is that the neighborhood was a little louder then expected especially at 1:00 in the morning, that does not reflect on the actual property which we were happy with.
