Carmen gave me a warm welcome on my arrival, and she was very prompt responding to my inquiries via WhatsApp. Breakfast was lovely, esp. her homemade pies and cakes. I would have given the facility and comfort level the highest score had it not been an issue with the shower. I lost hot water in the middle of shampooing my hair, just a few minutes after I started my shower. Carmen kindly let me use her studio shower, and thankfully I didn’t get a cold afterwards. I later learned that this may not be uncommon issue, esp. among older buildings in Italy. So one needs to carefully budget their shower time & hot water usage. Nonetheless, I didn’t experience this at all in Sicily on the same trip.

El baño tiene pintura desconchadas, mal olor, no existe donde colgar nada y las toallas son paños casi de cocina. La calefacción no funcionaba y era controlada por la administradora. La "habitacion" el suelo de madera hacia ruido, la cama era un somier de láminas con una colchoneta dura, los muebles por llamarlos de alguna manera parecían de un rastrillo y malos, las escaleras para subir a la "habitacion era tan verticales k parecía la subida al everest y el baño esta en la parte baja. La cocina al abrir las alacenas olían mal. El resto de la estancia muy viejo todo incluidos los pocos muebles y libros llenos de polvo. La dulce Carmen ( según algunos comentarios) no estaba ese dia pues la que estaba era una Sra. Carmen amarga y ácida, con mala leche y cuando le pedí la factura me respondió abriendo la puerta con, ARRIVADERCI dando un portazo al salir. También hice una reclamacion a BOOKING y me responden k me dan un monedero de 40,50€. Es decir no dormí ni una noche allí, reclame el dinero y todos sordos la administradora y BOOKING.

The host Carmen is wonderful to communicate with and went above and beyond to make us welcome and provided some great tips for tours in the area. One the best breakfasts we had in Italy with a homely touch of baked goods.

La padrona di casa ci tiene a fare di persona delle torte buonissime! Mi è piaciuto davvero tutto! Il posto è molto tranquillo e silenzioso durante la settimana, ma se uno è proprio tanto sensibile al rumore, va tenuto presente che il venerdì sera (e presumo anche il sabato) i bar e ristoranti vicini si animano un po'. In ogni caso tra mezzanotte e l'una la calma ritorna, quindi il mio consiglio è di approfittarne e andar per locali fino a quell'ora , ci sono tanti bar molto carini con musica dal vivo di qualità.

• Elpida (9/5): Excellent stay! - The B&B has so much character, and beautiful features, being old and charming. The room is as in the photos, with a very spacious feel and wonderful high ceilings and window, and it was very clean. Carmen was very helpful and communicative (allowing me to leave a small bag before and after checking in/ out which really helped us out). The bed was super comfortable. The breakfast was lovely, filling and very welcome. The location is very central and great to wander in Salerno. We were also lucky to find (paid) street parking very close by on the main road, which also made our stay easier. We were only there for one night but I would have very happily stayed longer to explore Salerno which is a cool city, and I would very gladly go back. Nothing! Everything as stated and lovely :) It is central so expect liveliness at night and in the morning - I personally like the buzz. If you have a car I guess luck can be needed for parking, but I think there are options around and Carmen also helps with location of covered parking close by.

We're not really breakfast people but that was also great. Loft room was fantastic! No hand rail in the shower so be careful if you are older in age. But otherwise, perfect!

• Katerina (10/5): - We had an incredible authentic and convenient stay! The breakfast was wonderful each morning, and we could really feel the love and care that Carmen puts into this B&B. We honestly loved exploring Salerno more than Amalfi and Positano, which we did on a day trip easily from the port that is just an 11 minute walk away. So many amazing restaurants nearby. It got loud Friday night because of live music playing outside, but Carmen prepared us for this with a note and complimentary ear plugs for sleeping. We fell right asleep after a full day. Highly recommend!

I stayed in the loft room which was extremely spacious but could do with a bit of a upgr - Location was great for restaurants and a 20 minute walk to Ferry terminal. As tourist we were up and out early each morning and breakfast didn’t start until 8am. I feel breakfast should be from at least 7am.

Fabulous comfy bed upstairs and loads of space to relax downstairs with fresh sunlight streaming through the balcony doors. Right above restaurants so spoilt for choice to eat. Only a block from the beach.

We arrived at midnight and they were so accommodating and the breakfast was absolutely incredible! The apartment was very spacious and had wonderful natural lighting. Das Bed and breakfast Hotel hatte sehr viel Charme durch die liebevolle Einrichtung. Es war eine sehr schöne Atmosphäre dort. Wenn wir noch mal nach Salerno reisen, würden wir die Unterkunft noch mal buchen. Eine kleine Sachen die zu bemängeln ist, ist die etwas geringe Auswahl beim Frühstück. Es wäre toll, wenn es kleine Brötchen oder so gegeben hätte.

Carmine (the lovely host) couldn't be more friendly or helpful and while she speaks fantastic English, was so very patient with my very limited Italian, as I wanted to try to speak it She also makes a delicious cheese omelette for breakfast ! The room was huge ! Spotlessly clean, very well equipped with the 3 most important things....great air con (and a fan in the beautiful mezzanine bedroom), very comfortable bed and a great shower. I'd love to return to Salerno and would absolutely love to stay here again. Thank you for a lovely stay ❤️. Nothing - everything was fantastic.

Gorge - Gorgeous property, with so many lovely touches to make you feel at home. Host was friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were incredible with beautiful homemade cakes. Property was central to the old city and everything was in walking distance. My room was directly above a bar. Two of my six nights they played loud live music til 1am.

• Patrick (8/5): Authentic and comfortable, in a perfect location - Home47 was a great choice for our stay in Salerno. The location in a neighbourhood gave the feeling of Italian community living. It is close to a lovely park, an easy walk to a swimming beach and about 30 minutes easy walk to the ferry terminal for trips to towns along the coast of travel to Sorrento or Naples. The daily breakfast was lovely, a very home prepared feel and with plenty of choice. The apartment is very secure, access is through a shared, gated courtyard and the room itself has two locking entrance doors. We were warmly welcomed and nothing was too much trouble for our hostess Carmen. There are small grocery stores, and a pizzeria on the doorstep with other eating places very close by. The hourly churchbells are an added bonus. Nothing, the place is not luxe but feels very authentic than staying in a hotel.
• Joe (10/5): Wonderful host and an ideal base for exploring the old town - We had a brilliant stay in the loft room. We had everything we needed for our little family of three, and the location was fantastic – right in the old town. The seafront is a couple of minutes' walk away, and there's a lovely green park just across the road from the apartment. There's also a huge choice of restaurants and shops nearby. What made the stay really special, though, was the kind and attentive service from the host Carmen. She gave us lots of helpful recommendations and was very sweet and friendly with our 8-year-old son. Her freshly prepared breakfasts were a daily highlight for us – especially the homemade cakes. Carmen was also very helpful before our arrival, helping me book transport from the airport to the B&B. Her cat and dog are both incredibly cute, too! The loft room is beautiful and absolutely huge. But it is very sparsely decorated and furnished, which, combined with the very high ceiling, makes it feel quite cavernous and lacking cosiness. Even adding a few tall plants would help, or putting some books / trinkets on the big empty glass shelves.

• Robert (10/5): - It’s was close to a great shopping and restaurant area. parking a car in the area was less then ideal. The public parking was a 10 minute walk away and underground.

• Geoff (10/5): Magnificent. Loved our Stay. - Wow, what a wonderful place, set in the heart of Salerno and managed by the lovely Carmen. The Loft was comfortable and spacious and the breakfast was excellent. Both the train station and the Amalfi Coast/Sorrento ferries are a little further away than expected but still in walking distance.
• fergiemulberry (10/5): Superb - If there was a higher rating I would give it. This BnB was far more than we had hoped for. A beautiful room (the loft), spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and a great location. The added welcoming and charm of Carmen was the icing on top of her very delicious lemon cake. Lovely breakfast with fruit, cereal options, home baked goods and your choice of freshly cooked eggs. The omelette was great and Carmen graciously allowed me to watch her make it. Slight glitch with the shower but that did not compromise the stay. Would come back in a heartbeat! Grazie Carmen.
• Angela (9/5): Superb - Beautiful room - looks better than the photos you see online. Carmen is so sweet and caring. Accessing the property is confusing. A bit more direction in how to navigate getting in/out would be wonderful :)

The room is spacious and the location of the B&B is within walking distance of so many shops & restaurants in the old city. We enjoyed our stay very much especially the jazz music during breakfast!

• Life (10/5): Book today. Heart of Old town. - Carmen the owner is so keen to please! She answered all my questions before I arrived and when you see inside the B&B it shows her love. Everything to please her guests. Sweets in dishes and something for all nationalities at breakfast! NOT 🚫 just cakes! Fresh scrambled eggs, cheese, meat, nuts,cereal, lots of fruit and tomatoes and of course...Italian cake & coffee!! And as it was Christmas 🎄🎄 Thank you Carmen! Location is in old town in a 1700 building. My room had huge doors with a mini balcony.Do look up at the ceiling, probably original art.. My ceiling was fabulus and a long way up! Ferry to Almafi along prom 25 mins. Nothing!🎄🎄
• Bec (10/5): Central, clean and a free concert to boot! - Carmen was the perfect host excellent English communication and home made cake. The apartment is well designed and beautiful to behold. The location is perfect for exploring Salerno.
