Guest Reviews
- Christopher (4/5): - Clean room. But small. Rustic. Bathroom was in bad shape. Too small and shower door didn’t close.
- Lesia (4/5): - The place is old. Ok lots are and not constantly renovating is eco-friendly. That said, the hotel is for sale so it feels like the business is being limped along. The quality of the bedding is cheap. Pillows are lumpy and the mattress worked for a night but was lumpy too. The shower didn’t drain well so you’re standing in a puddle. 2 towels provided for 4 guests. Crowded room for a family. Appreciate the accommodation but the place needs some attention.
- Andrew (10/5): -
- John (8/5): - This was the most unusual place I've stayed at in awhile. I enjoyed it, but it's quirky. The room was small, but worked out just fine. The tv worked, as did the ceiling fan. They were pet friendly, which was the big sell for me. You really felt like you were staying in a hotel from the early 20th century, but that's not a criticism. The stairs creaked, the hallway was narrow and I wound my way with 3 right turns on the second floor. The lobby was a legitimate front parlor. I never saw anyone from the staff. They left my key, with my name, at the unattended box at the front door. I left the key there in the morning. I would stay there again if coming through town. Thanks.
- Peter (10/5): - Such a wonderful, old historic, hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed walking through the 1800s while staying in this hotel. I imagine Billy the kid or Buffalo Bill probably stayed at this hotel. Highly recommend and will stay there again if I'm ever going through Kremling.
- Bob (4/5): - Old Western hotel was unique. Rehab was poorly done.Parking was on the street
- Jeff (10/5): - Quirky, old, remodeled, hotel with wood floors and rooms with themes. I had the John Denver room. Clean room with comfy bed. Bathroom was a tight space and it took awhile for the hot water in the shower. Overall a interesting and pleasant stay.
- Thomas (8/5): - Historic feel.
- John (8/5): - Generally good experience. No real service though. No coffee available in the morning. Could not turn off the bedroom light and leave on the fan so the room was very warm.
- Victor (6/5): Quaint, charming. Creaky floors OK! Needs work. - No on site person in sight.
The place could make capital of its rustic Western quaintness and nearness to Kremmling Cliffs and reservoir-lake recreation opportunities. But it needs updated infrastructure. Half-way to 21st century.
- James (2/5): Do not stay - Room was very small with no AC. Bathroom was even smaller knees against the shower if using toilet. Shower was filthy.
- Irene (4/5): - The room was filthy. I have photos. Dead bugs, dust bunnies. Holes in the shower. Forget about amenities-there are none. We were told AFTER THE FACT that the water in the rooms is NOT SAFE to drink! Seriously?? What kind of hotel is this..I am requesting a FULL REFUND, please. I hope my husband and I do not get sick
- Brown (10/5): - Great historic property, owner was terrific.
- TRINA (5/5): Everything was great other than that, a fan would have helped with the heat. - Great location No air conditioning our room was hot all night didn't sleep well even with the window open.
- Brent (6/5): - I’m pace was fine but the noise from the main road is brutal.
- Stanislava (2/5): Not comfortable - Very old “historic” property. Not comfortable.
- Sue (6/5): - No air conditioning, so room was very warm. Made for a tough night’s sleep. Our door knob didn’t function properly, and it took a lot to get it to unlock.
- Charles (8/5): - It is an old, "cowboy period" hotel. The rooms reflect what it may have been like at the turn of the 20th Century while also affording a few modern amenities like TV and internet. Yes, there is no air-conditioning and yes, if the room has a bathroom, it is small but the character of the place is so unique and the bed comfortable. Leave a window open and turn on the ceiling fan, all is good!
- April (8/5): - I think the property was great for the price. It was really old looking and dressed up really nice. The only thing that could be better was the shower floor. Glad we stayed had a great rest.
- LIZA (2/5): - Very small room, no table lamp on one side of bed, tiny bathroom with hair in tub!! Obviously not cleaned!. Quality of towels not good. Carpet torn in entrance to hotel.
- David (10/5): - Staying here was great! Lots of old charm in the hotel with spacious and comfy rooms. Lobby downstairs was a really nice place to hangout in the mornings as well.
- Tyler (1/5): Bad - Bed bugs
- Brian (10/5): - Love the place, easy check in
- Christopher (8/5): Very good - an old hotel. from 1905. it was like being in the old west. the entrance steps are a little worn, but everything else was in great shape,. i was surprised to get to the room and find it in perfect condition: fresh paint, very clean.
- Rene (8/5): - The property is clean and convenient. It is quaint and well done.
There was no cream available for the coffee service and we did not see any employees.
- sean (10/5): - Loved this place. 1906 western hotel with creaky hardwood floors and a welcoming lobby that harkens back to that time period. Rooms are all themed with my stay in the John Denver room with a log wood interior and assorted Denver records. Room was actually nice sized with a comfortable bed, tv, fridge and microwave. Bathrooms are small so take note, and the floors creak so you will hear it in the morning. Will definitely return to try a different themed room!
- Will (3/5): There were tics in my bed. - location, somewhat comfortable I found 2 tics (yes, the bug that carries diseases) in my room. Rats were crawling through the floor boards.
- Emmanuel (6/5): - Hotel with a lot of character. Reserved it for the boutique feel (rather than the other cookie-cutter hotel in town). Certainly felt like roughing it in the wild west. Radiator heating in the rooms, tiny bathroom, tiny shower, creaky floors. You're definitely staying here for the charm of the rooms and not the comfort. I did appreciate the decorations in the room, the books in there, and I wish I spent more time in the common area. Also, the only place I've stayed that offered electrolyte packets along with the coffee and tea in the common area, which was appreciated.
- Donald (8/5): - This is an old property with it's age showing. That said, it was clean and the staff was helpful and pleasant. If you know what you are buying with a stay here, it's worth it. I would stay here again.
- THOMAS (8/5): - Barking dog alone in room
- SCOTT (8/5): - I needed a last-minute economical room to stay in before my son's MTB race in Steamboat. The John Denver theme room looked "interesting" and was the only one available. Last minute my younger daughter decided to come also. I brought a foam mattress and sleeping bag for her.
Kids were sort of skeptical when we parked (they need a better parking lot light, btw). We all thought it was sort of cool, with the log cabin style headboard and wall treatment. Bathroom had a strange layout with only a small space between the toilet and corner of the shower, to access the sink. Anyhoo, it worked for one night although we were a bit sleep deprived in the morning because there wasn't really any room for the bedroll on the floor because sonny insists on bringing in his beloved and expensive bike inside due to fear of theft, even when locked up. We all slept in the comfy king bed but daughter moves a lot when sleeping so it wasn't the best sleeping situation.
Anyways, all in all, an OK place to stay for a night
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The best part about staying at this hotel is the fact it’s an old property. The hotel is charming and rustic. I could imagine Doc Holliday and Kate staying there; don’t know if they ever did, but the rooms and set up make one think that.
- James G (10/5): - Very good
- Bonnie (8/5): - No staff on site. The walls were thin, floor very noisy- very old building -but cute.
- Mark (2/5): - Reserved a room for 2 nights. At 2:30pm on the way driving to the hotel I received a call saying that there was a house keeping issue with the room we had reserved & “unfortunately we don’t have a room for you this evening.” They did end up finding a room for 1 night but said that’s all she could do.No room for the remainder of our stay!
When we arrived 40 minutes later no mgr or clerk to be found. Next morning same results. No one around to find out about the rest of our reservation. No calls or email from the hotel! Bad business practices!!
- Sarah (2/5): Would not recommend this place - This was one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. The fan and overhead light were connected, the remote did not work, and so we could not have a fan on overnight. I got locked out outside because there was no front desk, and because they neglected to say that there was a code to get back into the building in the morning. The place is neat but very shabby. We never saw or spoke to anyone affiliated with the hotel. I appreciate a family-run business, but things like a fan, and getting into the hotel, are things that should be basic to a hotel.
- Mary Susan (6/5): - For an old-time western hotel it was not bad. I booked the John Denver room for fun. However, there was no hot water evening or morning and the truck traffic noise was bad. The old hotel was on the main route, so traffic should have been expected, but it wasn't. For a lark, and and a throw-back experience, it was ok, but not for comfort.
- Chuck (8/5): - Old neat hotel. Manager on site.
- Knapp (8/5): i thought the girl that works there was very nice and and helpful - i didnt have breakfast having abathroom in the room
- Kara (4/5): Do not recommend. - The room was hot. Without AC. The floors creaked so badly that every step was audible by everyone regardless of which room they were in. The bathroom was so bad I was not willing to even shower in it. Had two nights reserved but left early so as not to have to sleep there a second night.
- John (6/5): Staff Help - Charming old building with lots of potential. The squeaks and creaking floors were reminders of times past. Was difficult to reach staff as the front desk, office area was not attended full time. Phone calls were not returned a few times.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Main room with 2 beds was clean, decided not to shower since it appeared old and rusty, toilet never worked during our one night stay. Plunger on-site didn’t help. No A/C, tried opening the windows but had another storm window that.made it difficult to get outside air. If on 2nd floor, will need to carry all bags up. Walls are thin and wooden floors are extremely creaky. The place has potential but needs a lot more work.
- MIchael (10/5): - Quaint older property with lots of personality. We enjoyed our night staying at this older property.
- 67Karin (10/5): We’d come again! - Love the ambience of this old place! Tons of character and it has all you need! Grateful for the microwave in thecommon area. Wish there was a mini refrigerator for those staying in the European style rooms. Comfortable bed and cozy space. Loved our stay!
- Moen (7/5): Nice enough- would come back - The Easton is across the street from a level 2 charger- which worked GREAT for us )driving Ford Lightning)
Wooden floors creak- love it! Bathroom across the hallway
Coffee at 6:00 am didn't happen- what happened to early morning coffee?
- Amis (10/5): - It's older, clean, squeaky wood floors; this place oozes with rustic charm.
- Joel (6/5): - It was all right for the one night I stayed there. If it would have been for more than one night I would have driven elsewhere for other accommodations. Floor was incredibly squeaky!! Room was horribly hot and t.v. was basically like not having a t.v. at all with a roku fire stick plugged in and really not able to get much.
I understand that this place has been around since the early 1900's so I didn't expect much but the owners have tried to make it comfortable by giving each room a theme and making it as cozy as possible.
- Bernard Diana (4/5): Unable to use - Unable to speak on survey the hotel was not handicap accessible.
- Isaac (1/5): Don’t stay here, its a scam - Nothing Got sent an auto email saying my booking was confirmed then never heard or saw anyone from the hotel agai . No employees were at the hotel and no one would respond to any text or call I made.
- Voyage44573608441 (2/5): They completely ghosted us! - Really disappointed. I reserved two rooms about a week before my visit. I came to check in at the hotel, only to find no one around whatsoever. They supposedly have "contactless" check in and leave your key and receipt in a key nook with your name on it (how easy to take someone's room?). Well, there was nothing there with my name on it. I called the number on the big sign that said to call or text if assistance was needed. I called three or four times, left voicemails, texted and waited.
After about a half hour I left and went out to dinner. Still, no one called or texted me back. I went back after dinner and still, no one was there.
We ended up getting a room in the hotel down the street.
The next day, still no explanation, no text, no phone call... nothing. The reservation had even been confirmed through email a couple days prior.
What gives? If you ask me, this place has gone down hill since I stayed there two years ago. Also, with people living in a car outside the main door and no management on site, what could possibly go wrong?
- Kerstin (1/5): Don't book this hotel! - Please be warned to book this hotel. There will be nobody to grant you excess to a room nor will a key be deposited. The phone will only lead you to an answering machine and you won't be called back. I had to find me a different hotel for the night I booked. No further comment.
- Stephen (6/5): - The hotel has a great location within walking distance of everything in town. The art and antiques are a bonus.
Both nights I was there I had to listen to a young couple who did not put their toddler down, one night approaching midnight.
I might suggest you implement a "Quiet Time," say 10 PM and enforce it.
- Clifton (10/5): Exceptional - Good place to stop for the night on the way to Steamboat. Great value. We didn't realize that bathrooms were shared and not in the room.
- Trent (8/5): - Great stay
- Kelly (10/5): Would Recommend - This was a very cute old hotel, perfect for my stay. Very clean and well maintained.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Cheap price but don’t expect a restful night. Mattress was lumpy, no insulation between walls (which led to hearing dogs @ end of hall and young kids 3 doors most of the night). Location means every truck that goes by you hear & wind rocks the building.
- Back (1/5): Bad - Bed bugs
- Mike (8/5): Very good -
- Kenneth (8/5): A vintage experience, friendly staff - Great historic building. Lists fridge and microwave, but was a surprise that these are shared facilities on the lobby. Not bad, just unexpected from the description.
- Trey (4/5): Disappointing - Loud and noisy at 5:30am
- LeslieW222 (10/5): Lovely Old Hotel - Lovely old hotel. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable as we traveled through Kremmling. This was a fun stay and we will happily repeat when traveling through again. Nice town too! Yes, the building is older. It creaks. But we had no problems with excess noise. Maybe I sleep hard or maybe people were just respectful of each other - everyone we spoke to was kind.
- Mata (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (7/5): Good -
- Chester (8/5): Very good -
- Torie (10/5): Exceptional - Great character! The old stairwell is noisy; you may want earplugs.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Fearless35234787524 (8/5): Be sure to carefully read the online room descriptions so you can’t complain! - This unique, vintage hotel (built in 1906) is a refreshing change from the usual sterile, modern accommodations that chain hotels offer. Each room has a ‘theme ‘ or identity that is very clearly described on their website along with information about shared and private bathrooms. We reserved the Casper Schuler room, #121, with a private bathroom. The room was cozy, homey, and very comfortable. The bathroom was small, but, it was built in 1906, so that wasn’t a surprise. We heard occasional, muffled sounds but none at a level that were disturbing. The contactless sign-in was very easy to handle and we appreciated the true to time period furnishings in the lobby. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this one-of-kind hotel and small Colorado town.
- O2738XOsusand (10/5): Built in 1906. Great history - Very nice place. Easy to find, clean and comfortable. IT was only 10 miles to the ranch and the views of the Colorado river in the early morning was amazing. Sure was glad they made coffee every morning
- Michael (8/5): - This is a unique and historic experience. Everyone should stay here once. This was our third time. Unfortunately it will be our last. Remember - everyone should stay once. The floors creak like a very old historic bldg should be expected. But the wiring scares me. They have one duplex outlet that serves every light, refrigerator, microwave, tv, ceiling fan and lights, plus whatever you bring. There is no one on the property all night but it is in a crimeless city. I wouldn’t advise a woman by herself to stay - you won’t be comfortable. But, you know, Zane Gray stayed here while writing one of his books that featured the horse and rider naturally “engraved” in the bluff across the street. It is worth a stay. It is a fascinating hotel. We have come 3 times.
- kwikwaterc (8/5): Step in to relaxation! - I've stayed 4 nights over the past 3-4 years. I travel by train a lot where you also share bathrooms, so that piece of a nostalgic hotel is very normal for me. It's always been a quiet, cozy place, for me. I tie it to an evening meal a short walk away across the town center park, then a breakfast at the Moose, also just a block's walk! It just suits me!!!
- Oleg (2/5): for $30-$50 it’s ok, but for $135 not worth it - style for the price of $135 you will get basically a tiny wooden shed with two shared bathrooms for the whole floor, and someone was cutting tiles or metal with angle grinder till about 11 PM, for $90 we have got a beautiful quiet room in 4-story LaQuinta hotel (located in the Denver area), with all amenities and plus pool and breakfast
- Robin (8/5): A little piece of nostalgia. Great stay! - The authenticity of the building was just wonderful. From the creaking floors and stairs to the coziness of the room. There was no AC in the room so we had to open the windows for air. Which is fine , but the noise from the trucks going up and down the highway was very loud in the middle of the night.
- Adams (7/5): It was short. - The room was easy to find and place. It would have been nice to have a snack with the coffee in the morning.
- Ryan (8/5): - Enjoyable
- Marla (6/5): - Kremmling is a smaller town that's full of ranches and is picturesque in every way. We chose hotel Easton as it was close to hot sulfur Springs. It's easy to find, they leave the key in the front foyer for you.... And then you begin the adventure that is the hotel at Easton. This 120-year-old building creaks at every possible step, and is filled with everything from Victorian era to modern conveniences. The rooms all have a theme, everything is clean, it is a real character. I did find the mattress to be exceedingly hard.... But I slept the full night and I did fit in the tiny shower. The grand restaurant next to the hotel was lovely and made a great cheesesteak, and the following morning we had coffee at the shooter and it was wonderful. I would love to live in kremmling someday!
- Andrew (10/5): - This very old hotel was totally unique and captured a slice of Colorado from simpler times. Loved all the old Decore. If you are looking for standard modern convenience of a chain hotel this may not be for you. If you enjoy antiques, old fixtures and construction, and curiosities around every corner this may be your place. Sorry I didn't get to meet the owner - they use a key drop method.
- John (6/5): - Toilet in room would not flush and overflowed. Called for assistance two different times with no response or assistance.
- John (2/5): - This is a boarding house, without air conditioning, you share the bathroom (only one of two showers was operational). Had to wait 15 minutes for staff to show up to check in.
- Donald (10/5): So much more than just a nights stay! - This hotel is more than a place to stay, it is an experience in itself. As you step in the door of the plain exterior, you step into another era, another world of travel, where the room keys are in the Key Boxes on the wall and the genuine wood floor actually creaks. The narrow stairway, decorated with character works of the "Old West" leads to a hall of period-designed antique furnished rooms (yes they have electricity and televisions) that convince you that this is another time and place. Most rooms have all the typical plumbing, but for those that don't, there are community bathrooms, complete with tub and shower. You can easily imagine the activity of a day gone by when traveling salesmen stopped over here after a long train ride to ply their wares. The whole experience is charming. The staff provide personal service with a genuine character of Western hospitality. If you truly want experience to be the definition of your travel, this is a property worth going out of your way to visit.
- Norm (3/5): Would not stay here again. - No bkft. Dirty floors, shared bathrooms disgusting, dirty, no soap, faucets not working in one bathroom, no sink in one bathroom…. Lack of Cleanliness!!!
- Vivian (2/5): No AC! - Very quaint; built in 1905. PET FRIENDLY! No AC, fairly miserable in July. Clean enough but very bare bones. Won’t return, can’t recommend.
- Phyllis (10/5): - Very unique property dont be fooled by the outside appearance, open the door and step back in time
- Lewis (8/5): - Unique historical hotel with western charm. Simple rooms with shared bathrooms. Fresh coffee at 5 AM. Reasonable price.
- Jeffrey (1/5): Bad -
- Minnieof5 (4/5): Very old hotel…. Way over priced! - As you walk up to the door, it’s a contactless check in hotel and we were never greeted by management. It’s a very old hotel. Our room was small and had a private bathroom, which several don’t. After finally settling down for evening, we opened the one window due to no a/c. There were several individuals in the courtyard area and they were extremely loud. I called management and was boldly told there is a quiet hour which starts at 10 (1 1/2 hrs to go) but she’d go ask them to be quieter. They also were smoking even after quiet hour began and it traveled right up to our windows. I have trouble being around cigarette smoke, so I was stopped up all night long. Internet was very weak and Roku TV. Extension cords powering everything. If you will be looking for lodging in Kremmling in warm weather, be advised there’s no air conditioning and ceiling fan doesn’t cool room off.
- Valerie (8/5): - We didn’t see any staff at our stay. We had problems with the sink no body to tell. We stayed in room 128 there was a courtyard below us. They were noisy and woke us up
- Douglas (7/5): no hassle, no hustle - breakfast? Just coffee
- Debbie (4/5): - Be careful what room you pick and apparently your not guaranteed that room. We picked the room with a restroom, the room we got was downstairs(in what reminded me of a basement) and the bathroom was down the hall. It is a very old building, no AC, and very noisy when people walk around above. We booked for two nights and left after one night because we could not get any sleep.
- Brian (7/5): Good -
- Leibetseder (6/5): Pleasant -
- Timothy (4/5): - No desk or dresser in my room, no luggage rack, few modern electrical outlets, basement room with ceiling radiator for unregulated heat, no bath towels. 120-year old wood floors mean that you hear every step by other guests and their animals. One of the owner's dogs whines by my casement window. No daily housekeeping as described. Free WIFI is super slow. The shared outdoor area is littered with dog turds. I paid for three nights, but left after two nights because it was so bad.
- Michael (10/5): - Easy check-in, comfortable bed, clean room, and good coffee. Just what I needed before a Steamboat powder day.
- Amanda (8/5): - very unique space! liked the ease of check-in. was not aware we had a shared bathroom however. yet, good place to stay for a night on our road trip!
- Devanand (10/5): - Every was good
- Boyd (10/5): - Great spot
- Tim (10/5): - We are returning customers.
Love the old town feel.
- Jeremy (2/5): - I requested two beds while reserving. I followed up with a phone call a few days later to request a cot. I was told there was no cot, but they would leave an air bed. When I arrived on property there was one small bed and no air bed. There was no one on site to help, nor were they answering calls or messages. There was supposed to be someone on site until 9 PM. I was charged for the air bed, and had a hard time getting a response to my request for refund. I was never given a refund. My party had to seperate for the evening; luckily we had friends staying an hour away. To be fair the hotel was clean, quiet, and quirky. The two in my party who stayed said the coffee was good.
