The wifi was spotty the last two days of our stay which made it a bit frustrating for confirming our next stay at a different town. We also didn't hear from the hotel when we emailed them about our air-conditioner blowing hot air but we were helped a few days later by a staff member. Besides these two concerns, our overall experience was a very good one.
- Didier (10/5): Une perle ! - La Résidence est située dans le quartier de la Roquette tout à côté du Rhône. Très bien placée, toute la cité est accessible à pied ! La résidence est organisée autour d’un atrium sur lequel tous les logements donnent. Le calme y règne. Il s’agit d’une vieille bâtisse rénovée. Ma chambre était située au second étage. Équipée d’une cuisine avec tout le nécessaire, d’une belle salle de bain et la chambre salon d’un seul tenant. L’ensemble est très agréable à vivre et pour se reposer ! Tous les commerces sont sur le pas de la porte et toute la ville aussi !
- Hannah (4/5): - Firstly this is not a 2 bed property, one bedroom is behind a curtain. It smelt of damp, had mold on the walls and slugs in the classroom. There were slugs inside and management did nothing about our complaints.

- Martin (6/5): Good location but needs some TLC - Check in was a bit disorganised, our apartment was in a different building and the on-site parking was not on site but instead 15 minutes walk away. The apartment whilst modern and comfortable had one cup, only 2 coffee pods and the towel rail had been pulled off the bathroom wall. It could do with a bit of TLC.
- sylvain (4/5): - Nous avons réserver l'appartement du rez de chaussée de 80 m2 qui est en réalité deux appartements réunis. Il y a une humidité résiduelle liée à l'emplacement en rez de chaussée. L'ensemble est toutefois propre mais quelques détails sont gênants comme le fait que les rideaux occultants d'une des deux chambres ne coulissent pas entièrement. Mais surtout nous avons dû subir le soir une invasion de petites limaces dans l'entrée qui se sont infiltrées par la porte principale. Le propriétaire contacté n'a pas jugé très grave cette invasion ce qui a rajouté à notre agacement, car il s'agit d'un 4 étoiles!! La jeune femme qui s'occupe des lieux en journée en revanche a été très compréhensive et agréable

- Teresa (8/5): - I was ready to leave a bad review. Prior to check in I kept receiving emails telling me parking is limited and if I needed it to make sure I reserved a spot. Each time I'd email the company asking to reserve a spot. Instead of confirming the company would wait several weeks then send the same message again. I spent $30 on cell phone add ons trying to contact someone while traveling. I was told to call back, I'd call and they'd make me call back again. A simple, that's an automatic reply would have done the job but the man kept telling me to call back at different times. Then enter Jacinda. She was friendly, very helpful and a complete 180 from the man I had been dealing with. Parking is in a secure parking garage and fairly easy to get to. The hotel is run down but the whole city is. We were able to walk to all the attractions and there were two small grocery stores near by. Once we arrived there were zero regrets we chose this apartment hotel.

- Lynn (10/5): - We took a taxi from the train station 16e but once we knew where we were, we walked back to the train station. No elevator and must be able to do stairs but it is beautifully restored and has a huge room, kitchen and large bathroom. Grocery store across the street and many restaurants around. They give a map and lots of local info. Even the managers personal cell number, should we “get into trouble”.

- Rob (8/5): Een redelijk verblijf in Arles. - La Residence is een oud gebouw zonder lift. De kamer was groot maar slecht gemeubileerd. De bank verzakt en oud. Wel was er een goed functionerende airco. Het bed was prima. De locatie was uitstekend: om de hoed zijn meerdere restaurants en de binnenstad op loopafstand. Parkeren kan ook op loopafstand tegen van betaling.
- Tim (8/5): - Property was great, location great however I due to difficult communications I didn’t appreciate being loudly ‘ summoned’ by an irate hotel manager and shouted at by her for taking up an extra foot in the garage especially as I (thought) I had been told this was ok….I felt very uncomfortable over what was an innocent and minor mistake. The other guest an Australian chap (nice guy) needed the space also said he felt awkward about how she dealt with it. Otherwise a wonderful place
- JACQUIE (8/5): - Lovely old French Hotel. 1700,s. There were stairs that had some tiles missing so a hazard if you have trouble with stairs but the host helped us up with our luggage. Lovely nice size bathroom with a tub and heater in the bathroom. We would definitely stay here again it is close to everything including 2 food stores around the corner. Laundry facilities can be used in the evening.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Good stay; very unhappy with ownership - The room and location were very good. Communication with manager was a challenge as we did not have a phone number of the manager. On the confirmation of the reservation we only had a phone number of the property owner. Therefore when we called to try to get some changes made, we were told by the owner, "That's not my problem, that is your problem. I cannot do anything about that." We were shocked by the attitude and lack of willingness to try to resolve the issue. When we finally checked-in the mgr said our request for a change was no problem but by then we were really unhappy about the owner's response and attitude. Advice to hotels.com, is make sure the confirmation that comes from the hotel has the correct number for contact.
- Alison (4/5): - Location and ambience were great and the room was spacious. However, the most important thing about a hotel is the bed. Even after we fixed the bed (see below) the mattress sagged and was strangely short, about 4 inches/10 cm shorter than is standard. In addition the lighting in the room was dim even by French standards and there were odd smells (sewer, mustiness, oil paint) that came and went. The bathroom was spotless but the kitchen was dirty, especially the floor. When we went to bed the first night, we realized there was a crater on one side of the bed. As there is no on site staff, we had to wait around the next day until someone showed up to check in a guest. They didn’t check our bed to see what the problem was and wanted €50 for us to move to a different room. Obviously they figured we were complaining about the saggy mattress not a “real” problem. When packing up to move rooms we looked under the bed to make sure nothing had fallen under it, and noticed the slats had come off the railing. So we dragged the mattress off and fixed it. No apology or recognition of our inconvenience. Not hell on earth but we would not stay here again. There is no shortage of options in Arles.

- Brandi (10/5): Definitely would stay again - We booked a Deluxe Duplex room, which had bunk beds, living room kitchen, bathroom and a separate bedroom with full ensuite bath. Very spacious room with all amenities needed to cook meals, small fridge & dishwasher. Beds were very comfortable, clean towels and AC cooled the rooms off in no time. 2 grocery stores right across the street. Staff were very friendly, helpful and wonderful to have on sight laundry available for guests after 7. We fell in love with Arles and will certainly be back to Le Residence!
- Lars Jakob (6/5): Unorganized staff and service - Lots of challenges to begin with. Our reserved parking lot was occupied at our arrival (and once more during our stay). They asked us several times per mail about our arrival time even though we had given the information. No hot water so we needed to change room (but we negotiated a discount). One day they forgot to clean the room and coffee was not replenished (we needed to ask for this on a daily basis). Room was nice and well located, but all in all too expensive.

- A (10/5): Lovely place in Arles! - Lovely spot in Arles. Perfect location. Kind hosts. Well-appointed and comfortable apartment. We enjoyed our stay very much and don't have anything constructive to share. A couple of quick notes to align expectations that may be helpful: - Parking was a 5-10 minute walk away, across the bridge. Easy to park, secure garage. -No lift, just stairs, so be prepared for that -Perfect location to explore all of the city -Everything one needs for cooking meals -Across the street from a grocery store, 6-7 minute's walk to the weekly. outdoor market, and next door to a coffee shop and great breakfast restaurant.

- Alison (10/5): Lovely, chic apartment - Lovely one bedroom flat. Very beautifully decorated and equipped but I caution people with mobility issues to avoid it as has two spiral staircases. Otherwise excellent and in a convenient place for exploring Arles.

- ARNAUD (10/5): Chouette duplex avec terrasse - Aucun hôtel correct n'étant ouvert ou disponible à Arles lors de notre séjour, nous optons pour un appartement à La Résidence, idéalement localisée pour visiter la ville à pied. L'appartement est situé au 3ème étage, accessible par un escalier en colimaçon très étroit. Heureusement, nos valises ne sont pas très lourdes. Il s'agit en fait d'un duplex, avec au premier niveau une grande chambre et une petite salle de bains, et au deuxième niveau une kitchenette bien équipée, un petit salon et une assez grande terrasse sans vis-à-vis qui donne sur les toits d'Arles. Il y a une table, des chaises, et même un très grand barbecue. Il y a un climatiseur réversible à chaque étage. Le chauffage fonctionne très bien en hiver. Le seul défaut est l'absence de rideaux / stores sur la fenêtre de la salle de bains. Même s'il n'y a quasiment pas de vis-à-vis, ce n'est pas confortable pour tout le monde d'évoluer nu en plein lumière. Mais l'inconvénient est surtout que, la porte coulissante entre la salle de bains et la chambre étant vitrée, la lumière du matin éclaire fortement le lit. En hiver, il ne fait jour qu'à 8 heures, mais en été, ce doit être assez pénible. Pendant la durée du séjour, le ménage n'est pas fait, mais je suppose que c'est la même chose dans tous les appartements sans services hôteliers.

- Manon (8/5): Bon rapport qualité/prix - Une très belle décoration, des appartements spacieux, cuisine équipée. Literie confortable. MAIS il n'y a pas de terrasse accessible par tout le monde comme annoncée dans la description de l'établissement sur hotel.com. Il y a 2 terrasses mais elles sont rattachées à des chambres. Les Chambres côté Rue sont extrêmement bruyantes. Et il n'y a pas de volet, seulement des rideaux pas vraiment opaque. Donc on est réveillé tôt par la lumière et/ou bruit. Mieux vaut choisir une chambre côté cour et avec terrasse.

- S (8/5): Pros and Cons of staying in Arles - The apartment was spacious and comfortable, very close to the centre of Arles. The owner Philippe was efficient and perhaps a little abrupt. Arles had some lovely areas and others were a little run down. Restaurants were average and geared towards tourists. Some only take cash! We asked for a glass of champagne at two different bars and they gave me Prosecco (at champagne prices)! Not good.

- Kimberly (8/5): - Stylish apartment hotel with spacious and comfortable rooms in the center of Arles. Convenient to everything you want to see and do. A bit tricky to find on arrival by car, but once we got our bearings and the secured parking, it was great.

Get really good directions before you drive into town because our navigation system tried to take us on so many streets that are only for pedestrians. Drive up to check in and reserve parking if you have a car. Parking garage is a walk away, so you will want to unload at the property.

- Tim (10/5): Quiet, well-equipped apartment - The apartment is close to the centre of the old town yet in a quiet area with no road or neighbor noise evident. The room was clean and well catered with a comfy bed and good quality TV, furniture, sofas etc. and good air con. Parking is included in a lock-up garage close to the property. The welcome was very friendly (Maryline). Highly recommended.
- Susan (8/5): Traditional building in excellent location - We had the terrace room at the top of the stairs and it was terrific to eat outside among the roof tops and birds. The down-side to this place: no elevator with stairs so narrow taking bags up is very difficult. 2nd down-side if you come by car: no parking. We found free places across the river and walked back.
- greg (8/5): Old Town Arles - This apartment is located near the hotel du ville in the heart of Arles. It has been renovated and has an interesting design with two levels, one for the bedroom & bathroom while the lower level has a kitchen and living area.
- james (8/5): Great location in the old town center. - Overall good experience. Very nice room. Liked having a kitchen. Close to the town center, Rhodes River, museum of ancient history, etc. We like walking through towns so this worked well. A bit difficult to get into - must stop in a one- way alley to offload luggage, then park 500 meters away. That's not unusual in city centers, however. Arles makes a good base for day trips. Phillips, our host was helpful. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Recommended.
