- Tanzina (8/5): Comfortable stay for Bangladeshi family or couple - I would like to thank them for their hospitality. I have to shift to this hotel at the very last moment. My energy was thoroughly drenched out when I reached from pokhara to kathmandu and experienced worst hospitality from My Second Home. at that moment i found out M Hotel Thamel from booking.com and they offered me a secured and comfortable stay. The room was cosy, hotel staffs were friendly and it is a very good deal of money. I haven’t expected this good room facility with this amount of money The room doesn't have valcony and due to work load hotel couldn’t arrange room cleaning for me. There is a road maintenance work going on the road which makes it difficult to enter and exit hotel with luggage. Otherthan that, I am completely satisfied with M Hotel Thamel

- Zaid Farzan Chowdhury (7/5): Comfortable Stay but Noisy Surroundings - The rooms were neat, clean, and well-lit, with a spacious washroom that added to the comfort. The hotel’s location is convenient, being close to the main street, but this also means constant traffic noise. Unfortunately, the rooms are not soundproof, so sounds from the restaurant downstairs and the construction site next door can be quite disturbing, especially during the day.

- Akash (10/5): Hotel exceed my expectations. excellent. - I like most was hospitality at hotel reception, they were polite and helpful. very comfortable and clean bed room and its size, view from the room was excellent. evening scenario from the Nest bar is excellent. Hotel is 24 hours open No

- Pukar (3/5): Poor -
- Imran (9/5): Superb -
- Imran (9/5): Good family place. - Staff was great. It was supportive and helpful. They behaved professionally.
Building was clean. Rooms were clean. Hotel was lonely with less staff due to the off season. One person was handling most task. Kitchen was not running on full strength due to the off season.
This was my second stay and this time breakfast there were no choices /buffet.
Lunch/dinner was expensive compared to our last experience and other peer hotel.
- Glenn (10/5): perfect place to stay - fair price, great staff

- Glenys (10/5): Anoher excellent stay, pre and post trekking. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else - Excellent location & staff simply great. From Manager to the house cleaner, all extremely friendly and helpful love the rooms that have the sun streaming in all day
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very accessible and convenient..............................................
- Clark (10/5): An Amazing Value! - This hotel offers an amazing value. The staff is more than helpful and service oriented. They really care and greet you warmly each time you walk in the lobby. A super value!!!
- Garry (10/5): - From management to cleaners excellent service the taxi driver from M Hotel made me fill like family
- Yee (10/5): - The staff was excellent and property was centrally located.
- Linda (10/5): Thirds Stay, Very Happy - This is our 3rd stay at M Hotel and they have maintained their excellent customer service. Kumar picked us up from the airport and drove us safely through town, the reception staff were friendly and helpful (some even remembered us), the room was comfortable, the location is easy walking distance to shops and sites around Thamel, Sajita was delightful as she served breakfast (nothing was too hard, and she remembered us too), so all in all, a great stay and we are very happy to recommend M Hotel if you're looking for something in the hustle and bustle of Thamel-Kathmandu.
- Amos (4/5): Much better staff and places to stay elsewhere - Shocked people reviewed this place so high. Hence why we booked it.
While not in a bad location it was annoying that the address was wrong on every map and not a single driver knew where it was. When we called the hotel for airport pickup we couldn’t get us a driver “because the driver wasn’t feeling well” and getting one at the airport was not any fun at all.
There was a little bit of feces left in the toilet bowl and some hairs around the bathroom. The shower wouldn’t drain and flooded the entire bathroom within 60-120 seconds at half stream. The WiFi was non existent for really loading anything. It was honestly the loudest room I’ve ever stayed in my entire life. 99 countries so far traveled so that’s impressive. The staff were always banging something or dragging chairs and tables at literally all times of the day and night. Kept us up till 1:30-2am and woke us up at around 6:30-7am BOTH days. The housekeeping was also very loud laughing and dragging their feet and slamming doors very hard from very early in the morning.
We called to arrange a cab one night and the man who picked up at the front desk just decided to hang up mid call because he was over it.
The bed was exceptionally hard and my wife got a bruise because it was like sleeping on the floor.
Overall I would not recommend anyone stay here. We ended up checking out and moving to Marriott which was perfect.
- Carsan (10/5): - This is the second time I stayed in M-Hotel. The room was very comfortable, clean and tidy. The staff were so friendly and also professional. They always smile too.
The location was also very good, tucked away from the main road of Thamel, and that means you can hardly hear any traffic noise.
I highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay in Kathmandu.
- Carsan (10/5): - I’m glad that I had booked this hotel. The location is perfect and very convenient if you are planning to stay in Thamel area. It is located in a quite area , away from the people and traffic madness of Thamel.
The room was really clean and tidy, well above some of the more expensive hotel that I stayed before In Thamel.
The staff were incredible.. very friendly and helpful, ... always smiling.
I would definitely book this hotel again if I were to come back to Kathmandu.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We provided a written response at the hotel - all good
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel exceeded my expectations in terms of value for money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice accommodations and respite from crowded and dirty city of Kathmandu
- Verified traveler (10/5): - new hotel, nice staff, hot water shower and powerful
breakfast good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean, good value for money. The rooftop bar is very nice. Staff where very professional
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had an amazing stay at M hotel. The staff went above and beyond the whole time we were there and always had a smile on their face. It makes such a difference to your experience and they are a credit to the place. The room was spotlessly clean and the TV has plenty of channels. The shower was amazing and the included breakfast was pretty good too.
The only small downsides being the food at breakfast normally runs out before the end and there were a few power cuts whilst we were there (but they didn't last long). One of the best value hotels I've ever stayed in.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - M Hotel was good for value and convenient location
- DavId (10/5): Amazing staff and hotel in the center of Kathmandu - The staff was amazing, when they received my booking they sent an email asking if they could do anything special. Great service and good hotelz
- P (10/5): - Excellent location. Exceptional staff. Well worth the price
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Two year old hotel in the heart of Thamel. Excellent everything! Okay breakfast. Staff incredible! I cannot say enough. 5 star rating by everyone..,Orbitz, Hotels.com etc.
Perfect location. Step out the door and your in the chaos of Kathmandu.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quiet; very friendly and helpful staff; central to the market for tourists and Indian Embassy; nothing bad
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great value, nice hotel - Comfortable bed, nice sized room, light and airy, very clean, well maintained, good service, a/c work, breakfast has choice of hot and cold items. Very good value. The only negative is that rooms at the back overlook a parking lot—sometimes late at night noisy motorcycles will start, also there can be loud “music” from nightclubs until very late; I did not find this a problem but light sleepers might. Overall, a great place to stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel—good service - Modern hotel maintained well. Very comfortable with good service in the heart of Thamel. If possible avoid rooms at the back that overlook the parking lot—there can be loud “music” at night and loud motorcycles any time (including middle of the night). They will store excess luggage if you are going trekking. Very reasonably priced. I will stay there again when I return to Kathmandu.
- Linda (10/5): Has Maintained a High Standard - We stayed at M Hotel last year and it has maintained it's overall standard, which is impressive. The bed is just a little harder than we are used to, and since our last stay it seems like a nightclub or two have set up close to the hotel that makes one side a bit noisey until 2am. Staff are very friendly and the new manager invited our feedback, just as the manager did last year, so they are committee to making improvements. The breakfast is great, good coffee and omelettes to order, plus a range of baked, cooked and cereal options.
- TomasP. (10/5): - Great service, good breakfast, nice and clean rooms.
- D (10/5): - M Hotel was great - room was clean and comfortable, staff couldn't be more helpful, and breakfast was fantastic!
- Monet (10/5): Great hotel, location and staff! - Great hotel and staff!
- Mike (10/5): - Good hotel, a quiet retreat close to the chaos of Thamel
- Kris (10/5): - This hotel is in a great location! Our room was very clean! The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We were able to get laundry done and it came back in great condition; nicely folded and spotless. It was very easy to book a hotel transfer and cost was very reasonable. Breakfast was, however, average. Would have loved more variety.
- PCP (10/5): - Every staff member is exceptional in their own right. It is a very similar feeling to staying at a Ritz Carlton, Mandarin Oriental or Raffles - staff wise.
The Rooms are contemporary - new and modern. Natural stone in the bathrooms with fantastic shower pressure and temp.
The internet speeds are exceptional for Nepal.
The only thing that I would even slightly suggest improving is breakfast offerings, but even then I can’t offer a suggestion as it is fulfilling. Perhaps a wider variety in fruit and juice.
I stayed at this hotel for 8 total nights across 2 different stays. I typically stay in 4-5 star places by US standards. M hotel - was perfect for the price.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic!! - The staff are very friendly and remembered me from last time! The hotel is very clean and modern. It has hot water and is quite luxurious, exactly what I needed after a trek. It’s also in a great location, very close to shops and restaurants.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Epic Travel Experience! - I have been blessed to have traveled all over this amazing planet. During my travels I have stayed in every imaginable property in about every possible location. The experience at M Hotel Thamel was exceptional. From my arriving several hours before the publushed check in time and having my room ready in less than 2 hours to the complimentary breakfast the first to the special earlier breakfast on my departure...totally first rate in every aspect!
Every employee was wonderfully helpful and happy. The service exceeded all of my expectations and the breakfast buffet was off the charts!! Upon checking out the front desk provided me with a bottle of water and box lunch.
By far the best value I have ever been blessed to experience.
- m (8/5): Friendly and peaceful hotel - It was a lovely stay, staffs were helpful and quick. Everything was clean. Breakfast was okay.
- SHU CHUAN (10/5): - Everything as everyone else said!A+But during my stay of six days period,WiFi not working very well in my room, apart from that is all great!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice location - near no vehicle streets, so very ready to explore. Wonderful breakfast and delicious rice pudding.
- A (10/5): - Amazing staff went above and beyond. Hospitality at its finest
- FRANK (10/5): - STAFF TOOK CARE OF ALL YOUR NEEDS, PLUS.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean place and great service. The breakfast was good.
- Theresa J (10/5): Five-star service at affordable prices - I broke my foot before going to Kathmandu and had to change my accommodation last minute as my previous place had three flights of stairs. I was so lucky to have found M Hotel. The staff couldn't have been more supportive and kind to me -- from the friendly manager to the cheerful front-desk staff to the helpful staff at the breakfast buffet. My friend and I stayed there for a week and were so pleased with everything. The rooms are simple but clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet.
We ate at the rooftop restaurant several times as in my differently-abled situation, getting around at night was a bit of a problem. The food was tasty, and I have to give a shout-out to my buddy Raaz for going out of his way to help me (including a night where he made a special trip upstairs to take our order as we had told him we'd be there to watch the World Cup). I also want to applaud Kumar, the hotel's driver, for being beyond helpful when he drove us around the area -- he told us fun anecdotes about Kathmandu and also helped me when we arrived at various sites (including getting me a wheelchair at one place!)
Already planning on a return to Kathmandu and I'll definitely be staying here again. Thanks to everyone there for making what could have been a disastrous stay an extraordinary one :)
- Jeremy (10/5): A gem of a place, very glad that I found it. - Almost brand-new, clean and modern hotel tucked away in quiet cut-de-sac minutes away from bustling Thamel and the Peace Garden. Good wifi and buffet breakfast, nice rf terrace with evening barbecue if you want to stay in. Altogether a great find, highly recommended.
- Pricey (10/5): Great staff!!! - My wife is in a wheelchair and although there are no ramps at the moment, the staff could not be more helpful. It is the staff that make this hotel stand out. Everyone from the front desk, catering staff, security and bar staff were brilliant. Big thank you to Raj the rooftop barman. You looked after us so well mate. The hotel is close to everything and is clean and new. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.
- Ian (10/5): Very nice hotel in Thamel - We stayed 4 nights here, including Nepali New Year, and really enjoyed the experience. It's setting in a cul-de-sac meant it was quiet but close enough to Tridevi Marg to find everything you need. Bed was comfortable and breakfast very nice.
Strongly recommended!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean and comfortable - Excellent hotel in a quiet corner in Thamel, just behind Gaia restaurant and opposite to Seeing Hands massage clinic. It is clean and comfortable with a large bathroom. Wifi works very well.
- Glenn (10/5): Great Hotel - Perfect, the staff worked endlessly to make our stay great. Everything is close by that you need.
- Glenn (10/5): - Great
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great breakfast.
Very clean and staff were extremely nice and friendly.
- Clark (10/5): Amazing Hospitality at this 1-year old Hotel - We planned our stay in Kathmandu at the recommendation of friends in Nepal and Singapore. M is a small hotel with a staff that greets you personally and show that they really care. We have been going out to other locations for a few nights and then returning to the M for a few nights at a time. With each return, we have been greeted like returning family members. Great Thamel district location!
- JONATHAN (10/5): Precious Treasures of Himalayan Cultures - Precious treasures
Himalayan knowledge
Ancient cultures
- Mauricio (10/5): An oasis in Thamel - I stayed in two other 4-star hotels in Kathmandu and this was the best one by far. The hotel is very well located. In Thamel, just around the corner of the Garden of Dreams and close to all the restaurants, bars and shops but in a very quiet (Kathmandu standards of course) residential area. The staff really goes the extra mile to make their guests feel at home, but I really mean it when I say it. The rooms are very well equipped and have a very functional layout (which is not that common to find in Nepal). The bed is super comfortable as well as the pillows. The food is not Michellin star deserving, but it is good. I don't think you could find better value for your money in Kathmandu. It would definitely be my #1 choice if I went back to Kathmandu and a hotel I would recommend to anyone. A true oasis in Thamel!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quite nice in Thamel - I think this is the best hotel I had stayed in Nepal. It's newly built so everything are in good condition. And there is a safe box in the room, which is the best part for me.
- Karl (8/5): Quiet for Thamel. - Reasonably priced and comfortable. Quiet for that part of town. The staff were kind and very helpful.
- khoo (8/5): - The staff all in excellent
- Phil (4/5): Too noisy. - Nice central location, great price , good food and helpful staff. Nice modern room. But let down by lots of noise in the early morning. Barking dogs, loud music from over the road,at 530am and bells ( maybe a local school). We were woken early every day in our front room and one of the other guests complained about the noise at the back.
- glenys (10/5): Excellent value great location - Staff were all very professional and friendly very comfy beds. Wifi and tv excellent reception True to photos highly recommend excellent value
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quiet, comfortable retreat away from Thamel bussel - Once you find M Hotel (signage to it could be better as its a bit tucked away) you will be welcomed into a modern, comfortable hotel with friendly and attentive staff.
My room was spacious and quiet with a lovely bed in which I had the best nights sleep during my entire 2.5 weeks in Nepal.
Good breakfast in the morning and the roof bar will be fun once temperatures warm up!
- Mark (10/5): Great modern hotel near Thamel in Kathmandu - I really, really like this hotel. The hotel is brand new, modern, and comfortable. The bed was comfortable, the shower was great, the room was spacious, and the view from my room was nice. The complimentary breakfast was very good. The staff was professional, courteous, and very very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel if you are staying near Thamel in Kathmandu.
- Tanushree (10/5): - Good hotel at a very nice location. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again
- Zhenjun Guo (8/5): very good experience - nothing to complain
- Gene M (10/5): Perfect stay - Nothing was missing. I loved every aspect of this hotel, but the staff were definitely the highlight. Very rarely do I encounter people this friendly who go to great lengths to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I will certainly be going back!
- Linda (10/5): New hotel, a retreat in bustling Thamel. - We really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed twice here in our time in Nepal. The staff were friendly, the manager spoke to us most mornings at breakfast. The breakfast was great. Eggs to order (we had a omelette most mornings), but there were breads, fruit and other hot food available. Plus great filter coffee. Our room was comfortable, the shower was great, and the bed was firm but not hard. It is a new hotel, and once you find it (a bit tricky on narrow streets), it is easy to navigate around and close to Garden of Dreams, the Royal Palace and shops/cafes. There is a bit of street noise, which is hard to avoid in Kathmandu, however our second room was quieter. We would highly recommend.
- Rathy (10/5): Comfortable hotel with great location - Excellent location, convenient but quiet. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Room is spacious and bed is very comfortable. The only downside is weak and unstable wifi.
- Heather (10/5): Quiet hotel in Thamel. With excellent facilities. - Excellent hotel to recover from a month in Nepal before the long journey home. In Thamel so easy for last minute shopping. Food at hotel good. Price very reasonable.
- Masri (10/5): A clean, safe, friendly hotel in Thamel - Room looks very new. Nice bed n bathroom, nice rooftop bar, excellent checkin n checkout. they provided packed breakfast as we had to checkout early for our bus to Pokhara. Everyone at the hotel was very helpful n friendly. No hesitation, will come back. Thank you M Hotel
- Jose (10/5): Good hotel option in Kathmandu - I stayed at M hotel from October 12 th until October 16th. Location of hotel is really convenient, but especially I enjoyed the room very clean with good pillows!! The best asset for M hotel is its staff who made the difference on my stay. Keep it on guys your good service and kindness.
- A (8/5): Great hotel in Thamel ! - Great hotel with awesome staff (all of them) who would go beyond their job description to help you. I was very happy with my stay at Hotel M. I felt very welcomed !
- Pradeep Kumar (10/5): - Property is Good but Location not that Great but overall Value for money.
- Rahul (10/5): Nepal Cricket Meeting - It was great pleasure to stay at the hotel M
- John (10/5): Great hotel. - Excellent hotel. The General Manager greeted me upon arrival. The staff were helpful, polite, and cheerful. Comfortable beds, hot water, and fast wifi. Place is also new this year and in a great location for Kathmandu.
- Victoria (10/5): 5 stars - Wish we could have stayed longer! Great accommodations, super service, great food and excellent service! Oh and so affordable. Just go.
- Stephen (10/5): Will be back if we return to KTM! - Great, new hotel in Thamel. Hidden away enough off the main roads that it's not loud or busy. Great service.
- Prasada L (10/5): Excellent hotel, great value for money - We stayed at the M Hotel for 5 days in July 2017. We were a family with 3 couples and an active toddler. We had a really great time. The rooms are in great shape, most of the equipment is pretty new. The highlight was the staff which was extremely friendly and helpful. They were constantly looking for ways to serve us and were good with our kid as well. The hotel location is pretty good and walking distance from a lot of local restaurants and shopping. The famous Narayanhiti Palace Museum is less than 1 km from it.
The only fly in the ointment is the approach street is narrow and larger vehicles will have trouble getting to it (we needed one for our larger group).
- Stephen (10/5): Great place hidden away in Thamel - We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room for the price. It's a new hotel, and everything was in top shape. It was nice after three weeks in India to have a stay in what seemed like luxury! Will be back soon.
- Vikas (10/5): - We had a Wonderful experience. Hospitality were superb.
- Charles (10/5): Great Stay at the "M" Hotel in Thamel - Stayed at the "M" Hotel in Thamel for four nights in late May and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality by the staff and the General Manager, Dinesh. The hotel is very new and in great condition. The location is close the nightlife and shopping of Thamel, but without the daredevil traffic and crowded streets. Located in a small alley of a side street, right around the corner from Gaia Restaurant, I never felt unsafe in the neighborhood. In less than five minutes I could be at Fire and Ice pizza or in the heart of the restaurants and shopping area in Thamel. The hotel offered a tasty breakfast each morning and coordinated transport to and from the airport as well. The travel office across the alley coordinated a great day trip to Nargakhot and Baktapur. I will stay stay there again if I have the opportunity and have recommended it to several folks since my visit. Great value for the travel dollar!
- Alison (8/5): Great location - Complimentary water and coffee only available on 1st day of stay. My husband was poorly on day 2 so declined a free breakfast but they charged us for water for him. We were offered an upgrade but was also told this would be chargeable, we stayed in our pre booked room and it was fine. I just felt some attention to detail and personable touch was missing. There was no hot water during our stay due to a deep clean occurring at the time of our visit.
