The location was perfect — central, convenient, and ideal for exploring the town and surrounding Lake District attractions. The guest house was exceptionally clean, beautifully maintained, and very comfortable throughout our stay. Everything was thoughtfully arranged, creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere. A special thank you to Louise and Shaun, who were incredibly kind, welcoming, and thoughtful hosts. Their lovely gesture during our stay made us feel truly cared for and added a personal touch that we really appreciated. It was also very convenient for travel, with shops, restaurants, and transport links all nearby. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Ambleside — we would definitely stay again!

Most importantly Louise and Sean, our hosts, were very friendly, attentive and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend.

• Paula (10/5): Delightful gem in the heart of Ambleside - Lacet House is a gem in the centre of Ambleside. With private parking, it was easy to find. Both Sean and Louise were amazing hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean, had lovely facilities including access to Netflix. It was immaculately clean and the breakfast was delicious - I would defiantely recommend this for your stay. There really wasn’t anything we didn’t like about Lacet House. If I had to pick fault with anything it was that during the first night the temperature dropped and it was a little cold - perhaps some blankets would have been nice but I just put on an extra layer in bed for the second night.

Breakfast was delicious, room was incredibly comfortable, and the location was spectacular. The only negative was as the house is on the corner near the bus stop, bus traffic was a bit loud.

• Dawn (10/5): A wonderful,cosy stay in the perfect Ambleside location. - We loved our stay here. The location is perfect – right in the heart of Ambleside with everything just a short stroll away. Our room was full of character and felt really cosy, with quality fittings throughout and a very comfy bed. The shower was excellent, and we had lovely views over the park. Despite being so central, the room was quiet and peaceful. The hosts were warm and welcoming, and having parking on site was a big bonus. Highly recommend!

They were very kind and very helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We used one parking spot around the back of the building. The breakfast was delicious made by Shaun, and Louise was so friendly and caring she helped us plan our hike one of the days. I was there with my 2 friends and both Shaun & Louise remembered all 3 of our names for the duration of our stay. They made us feel so welcome, we would definitely stay here again. The location is also great, the whole town is very walkable. Nothing

A reggeli kifejezetten bőséges és finom, szívesen szállnánk meg itt újra. Az utca zaja meglepő módon kicsit behallatszott, de ez csak apróság. Ezzel együtt is nagyon jól éreztük magunkat.

No wardobe for hanging clothes in Room 3. There was a rail/hanger but I think a slim wardobe could have been fitted.

• Shilian (9/5): First B&B experience but defo not my last! - Two amazing full English breakfast in a row which fueled us for the whole day! The location was great with easy access to everything, we used Ambleside as a base for our walks and only 10 mins walk to the Lake. The bed and duvet was very comfortable, we both managed to get two good nights of sleep and enjoy a relaxed weekend in the Ambleside. As the accommodation was next to one of the main road, it can be slightly noisy sometimes but once it's past 9pm it was all quiet and was able to get a good night of sleep.
