The bathroom was clean and the shower was great. I use my own toiletries due to allergies but there was plenty of toiletries available. There was a good selection of tea and coffee and sufficient milk which was great. I had a great view from my room which was a real bonus. The windows needed a good clean and the walls were very thin. The grounds around the car park could do with a bit of clearing and sorting out.

- david (4/5): Enjoyed the company of our friends but wouldn't recommend the hotel. - The location was good. Able to walk across the bridge into the town. Good size car park. There was little hanging space for clothes (5 hangers). No wardrobe. No drawers to put clothes and underwear, we had to live out of our suitcase. Definitely DIDNOT LIKE the brown toilet paper. Some of our group had their rooms downgraded but we're not offered a refund. They had to argue their case and didn't get the correct refund. Had to ask for tea bags. The bar on the first night was not open.

- katielJ9542DQ (2/5): Disappointing - We brought a night away on Wowcher (who they have also ignored ) and after being promised a hotel in which offered pressecco and food none were available due to undergoing refurbishment which wasn’t staged anywhere at all. As well as this the fire alarm went off early hours and being pregnant this was a massive inconvenience in which no sorry was offered. After a restless night and struggling to find food we were then told we need to book a time for breakfast in which was not necessary as it was out all day anyway from the day before & wasn’t busy at all. So after a restless night we then felt we had to get to breakfast early- you don’t have to. When getting in touch to ask for some sort of compensation for being missold and let down we have been ignored numerous of times. Nice location- not a lot around I was looking forward to spending a night in the hotel which was a disappointment. I’m not one to write reviews however the unprofessionalism and the empty promises (Prosecco& food ) was comepeltly misleading and a waste of money. Could’ve went somewhere better.

- 926vickyq (6/5): Fine for a short stay - This hotel benefits from an excellent location, with the added convenience of plenty of secure, gated parking—definitely a strong plus. The rooms are clean and functional, but they feel quite dated, with a distinct early-2000s grey aesthetic that could really use refreshing. There are signs of improvement, as the terrace area is currently undergoing a facelift. Given its riverside setting, the hotel has great potential to become something special, but it’s not quite there yet. The breakfast was passable, though the dining area itself is in urgent need of an upgrade to match modern expectations. Overall, it’s perfectly adequate for a one-night stay, but the property would benefit greatly from a full modernisation throughout. With its prime location and nearby selection of excellent restaurants—particularly Indian options—it has all the ingredients to be a standout destination with a bit more investment.

The restaurant didn’t appear to be open and we were the only ones in the bar. All the staff were friendly and helpful, will definitely return when the bar renovations are complete. Had a great nights sleep as the area is so quiet.

The staff I did encounter at reception during my stay were helpful, friendly and engaging Terrible smell in my room. It wasn’t clean, it looked quite old and run down, especially the bathroom! It definitely wasn’t a clean room and I wouldn’t stay here again unless there was absolutely no other choice in the local area.

- Sara (9/5): Alittle short stay for a birthday treat, comfy bed, tasty breakfast and would come again to St Ives. - Lovely double room with tea & coffee, the bed was so comfy. my Son probably had a slight better view 🙄🙂. The next day which was my husbands birthday we had a very tasty breakfast couldn't fault it. Then we had a walk into St Ives and it was wonderful as the sun was shining seeing the swans on the river by the bridge. Hope to see you again, thank you. If we swapped rooms with our son 😃. Our TV wasn't working properly, so I adjusted to use the freeeview and it was better.

- Janet (9/5): Enjoyable. - Room and Staff. My wife is recovering from a Knee operation and is using crutches. Even though a second floor room would not have been a problem, were asked if we would prefer a ground floor room instead. Appreciated. Breakfast on second day, some items a little dry. Not many in hotel that day so difficult to judge quantities I know. But not a big problem, no harm done.

- Mark Yeomans (9/5): Nice comfortable hotel in a great location and good value for money - Room was clean and comfortable, nice sized TV, comfy bed and good sized hot shower. Stayed in a Double room, it was a good size with seating area and desk and chair all tastefully decorated. Our room was by the street into the town and windows could do with a bit of extra sound proofing. As was a bit noisy in the evening and first thing in the morning with groups of people walking in and out of town.

- jennysG3605HQ (6/5): Flooded carpark - Booked a pet friendly room wasn't expecting it to be modern. As it was tidy but not much more. The shower wasn't clean and the orange strain on the head was not great. The marks in the toilet and strains on the bathroom door. The air vents having dust on it that came down into the sink. And the sink not having be cleaned the drain. The screws in shower side not screwed in the surface. And nowhere to hang coats. And the lights in bathroom that was automatic that took ages to turn off on it own at night. If anything walked near the door it came on. The weird smells in the corridors was fun to walk in. The heating not coming on all evening and no idea why it would come. With single framed windows that you could hear all the noises outside. Not a busy street as residential. The cold room over night in February. Comfortable bed . The flooded main carpark due to heavy rains. No room to park if full booked. The reception that was part office and spa. Very modern concept. To have walk in and wait be seem.
- Tracy (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay and wanted to see St. Ives, hotel getting refurbished. - There was no parking, but the man came out and sorted us a space. This was because the main car park was under flood water. It says anyone can park for £2 so don’t know if there are enough spaces for guests. Easy check in and man took my bag and showed us to the room. The room was really big and we had a lovely floor to ceiling view of the lake. Later realised that this should have been a meadow and the banks of the river had broke. Room was very warm so turned down rad. Good shower. Nice and quiet so had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was a help yourself, we went at a set time but only a few people in room so I think it should have been cooked to order as cooked stuff was getting dry. Breakfast could be better. As we have stayed at other places for same money and got a much better breakfast. They do say if not busy will cook to order but it wasn’t busy and loads of cooked food getting dryer and dryer. Definitely think the breakfast should have been cooked to order because when we walked in only another couple and 2 children walked in, as I think there would be less waste.
- Scott (5/5): You get what you pay for. - The location was ideal, next to the river and the bridge into the town centre. The buffet breakfast was good and plentiful. If you book a room here don't pay for breakfast online as they will offer it for a cheaper price when you check in. For the price I wasn't expecting luxury. The room was fairly standard, but the cleanliness was poor. I didn't use the shower as the grout to the floor tiles was black with engrained dirt. The bathroom light was also on a motion sensor and I was left in darkness if I didn't move about enough. The cups and teaspoons were sticky so I didn't make myself a hot drink. I was woken up in the early hours by someone vigorously trying to open the door to my room. I'm assuming they were drunk, but it was odd as my room was at the very end of the corridor.

- Liam (7/5): Modern rooms but need refinement. - Room was nice and modern, with a pretty view over the river. Bed was comfortable and room was well furnished. Stayed for new year's eve and found the room to be very cold, tried adjusting the radiators but made no difference. Used the shower which had very good pressure and was nice and hot, however the shower was fixed to the wall in one quite low position and the bracket itself was loose and nearly falling out. After you had used the shower, as soon as you open the bathroom door the steam sets off the fire alarm as it's positioned directly above the bathroom door.. I then received an email telling me not to smoke or vape in the room, neither of which I do. Overall the room is quite nice and modern, however the fit and finish of fixings and furnishings give the impression that it has been done very cheaply and in a rush, i.e. there wasn't a single level/straight plug socket or light switch in the room. Last negative is that they need a modern TV in every room, stayed a few times now and it's hit and miss whether you get a smart TV.

- Cath (1/5): I would not stay again. - The room was dirty with lino in the shower which raised up with the water. Hair in the shower plug and generally unclean. Ladies of the night being picked up in the morning, noisy through the night. Cold as the radiator didn't work.
- David (5/5): Great staff, but hotel is a bit tired - Location of the hotel is great and the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The hotel looks like it’s currently going through some upgrades, so the reception area was a bit of a mess. There was an exercise bike in there. The room we were given was fine, but the blinds were pinned down with safety pins, meaning they couldn’t be opened. The bathroom wasn’t great…the shower had a fair bit of mould and the toilet seat was hanging on for dear life

The shower fan wasn't working so there was a little bit of a damp smell but it was spacious and had all you would need . The hotel was undergoing some renovations which we weren't aware of until arrival and so we needed to go outside to get to bar and function suite, which wasn't ideal.

- Linda (8/5): - ROOM WAS BVERY COMFORTABLE Breakfast was over cooked as the kitchen was not working and it was buffet style which probably been there since breakfast started at 7am. We were not told about until we read the paper we were handed at reception after paying for breakfast. if we had known earlier we would not have purchased the meal and gone else where for breakfast paid no more and got a decent breakfast.

- Sally (4/5): Due to hotel feedback I wouldn’t stay or recommend this hotel in the future. - The hotel staff I meet were very nice, happy & friendly.I already gave a review on Google maps, in my review I said I thought breakfast was poor, in the hotels response they said breakfast is complementary, breakfast was not complementary, I paid on arrival for breakfast, so clearly the owners don’t have a clue to what’s going on in their hotel, which is not good customer service. I have already given a review on Google maps, in which I commented on how poor the breakfast was, the hotel sent a email back which they have posted on Google maps, stating breakfast is complementary, which suggests it a free breakfast, this is not the case, I was asked on arrival if we wanted breakfast & was charged a fee, so it wasn’t complementary & I think the management need to check what is going on before posting thing’s on line as clearly they don’t have a clue to what is actually happening in the hotel, this is very poor customer service & I definitely wouldn’t recommend a stay at a hotel were mangment don’t even know their own policy.

Didn’t have to drive anywhere as it was central to all the shops and bars. Nothing I didn’t like, we had a perfect stay.

Nice evening drink in the bar overlooking the river. Only quip (own fault eating late) lack of plates and some of the cooked breakfast items cold . Perhaps if cook to order save any waste and food would then be hot? Other than that plenty of Tea and coffee, juices . Happy to stay here again!

Couldn’t open the window as we were adjacent to the main road. The corridor to the rooms, in between smelt of weed, then curry then stale. Reception looked like a messy office/village hall. It was awful. We managed hardly no sleep and couldn’t wait to leave this morning.

Rather hard bed, no bedside lighting, poor ventilation and no air conditioning (just a window which opened onto a car park), shower head didn't work very well, bar closed and signs of construction work around. Not value for money.
- JohnHart_13 (6/5): One night stay - We stayed there for one night, it is literally by the famous bridge so you can park there (it has loads of parking) and walk across the bridge and you're in town. As it was January when we went we didn't make use of its beer garden but I guess it would be really nice in the summer. The room was warm and clean , the only problem was reaching the blinds on the velox wondows. Breakfast was OK but there was a sign saying a full cooked breakast was not available every day.

Due to refurbishment no bar or restaurant available but not informed until we arrived. Breakfast served in the large events room which was quite dull decoration wise and no attempt to dress up tables to make it inviting. At time of our breakfast we were only guest - although other guests staying at hotel.

Bello trovare sul tavolo il bollitore con biscottini te e caffé. Lo staff è sempre stato molto accogliente con noi. - Abby (1/5): Extremely over priced. - We arrived on the 26th December expecting to use their restaurant. Both the bar and restaurant were closed so we had to go into town to eat. We were given a room which had no heating. We were then down graded but wasn’t compensated for this. The hotel was very poorly decorated for xmas.
