• therese (7/5): - breakfast arrived at times i selected. I paid extra for ocean front bottom room and we understood the patio area was just for those 3 rooms. There are threee other areas for all other guests and we had two couples just come out and take over the reclining lawn chairs. Then they put on music kinda of loud on their cell phones. They seemed to just think that the area was for everyone. There should be a sign on the gate that says private area for those 3 rooms.

• Mahira (10/5): Overall, a clean, comfortable stay with friendly staff and a great location just a minute walk from - The hotel was very clean and the rooms were comfortable and well maintained. I liked that housekeeping was complimentary every day and the staff were very nice and courteous. Breakfast was convenient because you could choose from options, leave the form on your door, and they delivered it to your room. The breakfast options were somewhat limited, so a little more variety would have been nice. Other than that, everything was pretty decent and met expectations

• honesttrippin (10/5): Amazing stay in Cambria - Located a stones throw from moonstone beach, this hotel is top notch. Lounge chairs on the patio allow you to enjoy the sea air while drinking your coffee in the morning, or your cocktails in the afternoon. The staff is incredibly welcoming and kind. The rooms are clean, the bed is heavenly, the shower is great and they provide a breakfast delivery service to your room (included!).

The room was well appointed and adequate in size. The location, across the street from the boardwalk and ocean, was excellent. The interaction between staff and guests was a bit distant but not a negative aspect.

• 896edwardh (10/5): A Great Escape from the Big Hotel Chains - We loved everything about this hotel. From personal check in onwards, we were treated to great friendly service and made to feel welcome. The room was beautiful with real furniture and great view of the ocean. The breakfast was ordered the night before for a specific time slot which worked well with our early travel schedule. We enjoyed the fresh eggs, a great improvement over the reconstituted ones we had at larger breakfast included hotel chains. The bed was very comfortable, and everything well maintained. The amenities were great including the coffee maker and the cookies provided. We strongly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling through the area. We just wish we could have stayed longer.

• Leah (7/5): The average charge for a day was too high for the back room we got. - The stuff was helpful and nice, the location was in the middle of moonstone beach. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was good. We got a room closest to the parking lot and the highway which was noisy at times. The noise coming of the water/shower pipes from the room next to us was very load. The breakfast was limited not many choices.

• Laurel (9/5): We would go again. - We had a lovely time. Loved the location on the beach and within walking distance to a nice restaurant. The staff was helpful and nice. The only reason I gave it 9 stars instead of 10 is because there is no air conditioning. We were there in October, so that wasn't a problem, but it could be in the summer. The rooms have large windows that open, which we enjoyed.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine for my roommate, but not for me. No fault of theirs, I have a lot of food allergies. The breakfast wrap was big enough for two meals for my roommate. We will definitely be returning! We had trouble with the tv. We didn't really need it anyway, but neither working the remote or the broadcasting program was workable for us..

• Woo (7/5): Blue Dolphin Stay - Location was great, especially for the shuttle bus to the Cambria night lights. Close to restaurants! It was nice to be able to choose my breakfast. Breakfast wrap was delicious and it was big! Clunky keychain to room, would be nice to have key cards. Pillows were too soft, top blue cover to bed kept slipping off bed. It was cold in room, but there was a heating fireplace. Asked for an extra blanket that I had to sign for (that was weird) Staff person in afternoon was pretty nice. Morning person (lady) was okay. She's the one that made me sign out for the blanket. Guy at front desk this morning wasn't as friendly. Tried to talk to him & I guess he wasn't feeling it. No smile.... Price for room was steep Each room allowed 2 bottles of water each day. There was a Keurig machine in room, which was nice, also a mini frig, back of frig was caked with ice Could of been more lights in room. Also, maybe a plug on the other side of the bed, so I could charge my phone/tablet Our room had a small bathroom. Part of the sink vanity sticks out

• vonnies474 (10/5): Sea of Japan Room… my favorite - We love our room, this is the third time for us staying in that room. Love the sounds of the waves… so smoothing for the soul. Disappointed in the heavy egg breakfast menu. We do not eat eggs. Many people are fighting cholesterol issues or personal choice not to eat eggs. The management was helpful and sent us up to their other property for breakfast… that helped. In the future I hope that the very unhealthy 6 choices of eggs can offer several healthy vegetarian options. Very wonderful staff that are willing to work to provide a pleasant stay. All of this makes Blue Dolphin our choice in Cambria. Vonnie Stoia

Our receptionist was welcoming and very helpful in recommending a great local restaurant. She was spot on because it was one of the best dinners we’ve had in a long while. Our room was clean, cute and cozy with lots of special touches. Breakfast was great the next morning,too! We would highly recommend this establishment. Can’t think of a thing. We had a great stay☺️

Утром можно встретить рассвет прогуляться по прогулочной дорожке вдоль побережья. В доступе бесплатный кофе и чай, можно купить снеки. Утром приносят завтрак то, что выбираешь вечером. Отель оставил самые приятные впечатления, хочется вернуться в этот город в этот отель

I accidentally left some items behind, they called me within and hour to let me know and promptly mailed them back to me. The rooms are charming, big, comfortable and breakfast is delivered to your room! If we could have stayed longer!

• Sdwoo (8/5): Wonderful location, however they haven't nailed breakfast - We were looking for a place to break up the journey from San Jose to Palm Springs and felt that Cambria was a reasonable place to stop overnight. There are a number of Inns like this in the ocean front area of the town and I could not see too much difference between them all. I booked this via Expedia for $230 B&B, which I though was reasonable given the location. The car park and entrance are to the rear of the hotel. We arrived around 4.30pm and were met in reception by a very helpful man. He told us all about the hotel, our room, the set up for breakfast and the restaurants in the area. We had to order breakfast that evening, which was a bit odd. It was a selection of egg centric wraps brought to your room as your preferred time. This is because there is no designated dining area. The hotel is pretty small, but you could see from outside that there were a couple of rooms that had their own patios facing the ocean. We were in the room about 2 doors up from reception, 205. It is a reasonable size with a homely feel, and a snug bathroom en-suite. It had nice shutters on the window. We overlooked the side entrance, but you could see the ocean via the driveway. This was the coldest place we visited on our trip, which is probably why the room has no air con. Luckily it wasn't that warm, so we didn't need it. The main problem that we had was the smell of breakfast being cooked permeating the room from 7am. It was so strong that when our breakfast came, we really didn't feel like eating it. As it goes, I would have preferred simple cold pastries instead of the tortilla wraps.

• David (10/5): Fantastic location, comfortable clean rooms and very friendly staff. - Travelling with friends I chose Blue Dolphin Inn because of its location - have stayed in Cambria before - & its proximity to Hearst Castle. The location is excellent just across the road from the Pacific ocean with the beach and walking path easily accessible, it also very close to a restaurant thats serves great food. Check-in was very quick and he staff member was friendly and engaging offering advice about the area and places to visit. The room was large, spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. We were only there the one night, however we all had an excellent stay and would not hesitate in recommending this Inn to family or friends should they be visiting the area. Breakfast was a little disappointing the fruit compote excellent but the burritos were just ok. Just wondering if there might be the option offering say croissant as an alternative to the burritos?

When he mentioned it to the reception they suggested he opened a window, which he had during the early hours.After travelling for 14 days on a motorbike with minimal clothing the complimentary housecoats where much appreciated to relax in after showering

Slept with the window open and could hear the waves crashing across the street! Cambria is a wonderful town with multiple places to dine and the boardwalk was a nice walk after a good dinner! Even though on second floor, hotel lobby is in the back which is the second floor so no need to carry luggage up a flight of stairs. Wished we could have stayed longer.

• CrazyDisneyCatLady (10/5): A perfect 25th Anniversary - We were so happy with this hotel for our 25th anniversary. The room was lovely, and the proximity to the beach was perfect. We loved sitting at our window, people watching as we ate our breakfast. The staff were all very friendly. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was very nice. Everything was clean. We had a king room with a view. There were robes in the closet, binoculars on the fireplace mantle, a fridge, and a small microwave. A Kurig coffee maker, and it came with breakfast. Our only complaint was that the breakfast looked as if they've had to scale back from what I had seen offered from past reviews. It was basically a choice of breakfast burrito or yogurt parfait with a small cup of orange juice. We figured out that splitting the burrito and sharing the yogurt worked out best for us. My husband is a bit picky about coffee, so he bought some other K-cups to use. They provided Kirkland (Costco) brand and creamer in the fridge. Otherwise, we'd DEFINITELY return to Moonstone Beach and the Blue Dolphin Inn again! It's a two hour drive from Santa Barbara, 45 minutes from San Luis Obispo, but only 10 minutes to Hearst Castle (a MUST SEE!) and the elephant seals at San Simeon. And YES!!! I found "moonstones" (white agates) on the beach right in front of the hotel!! Perfect 25th Anniversary trip. I miss it there already!
