• Emma (6/5): - Thermal pools are great but room is very dated and spa in our room was so dingy looking we didn’t use it. Not surprising the Room smelt musty since it’s carpeted and spa in back. Room was clean, bed was fine.
• Renee (10/5): - Room was nice and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. There is a small dairy and take away shop within a few minutes walk. I used my private spa pool and the main pools during my time. FYI, not a big deal to me, but in the private room you can only access the water for the spa tub between 7:30-9:30am, then again at 2:30-11:00 pm. But the main pools are open so...I did like that it was adult only! It was very relaxing and I would stay again.

Roadworks: I was not informed in advance about the major road construction right in front of the motel. If I had known, I would have chosen not to stay this time. Wi-Fi: The internet connection was extremely unstable and much slower than in my previous visits. I could not attend an important online meeting and had to move to a café instead. Cleaning/Service: By 3 p.m., the room was still not ready, meaning the in-room spa could not be used on time. For a property that sets 3 p.m. as the check-in time, this was very disappointing. Overall, I found the management response unhelpful and not sincere. I hope improvements can be made, but I cannot recommend this place as it stands.

The rooms are clean and tidy, well equipped and great shower pressure. The private spa is bliss, as is the pool complex included in the stay, and the beautiful shared deck area overlooking the lake. All topped off with the most lovely host. A nice walk to town or 2 mile bay for coffee. We will definitely aim to come back

Absolutely quite could not hear no one else that was staying at the motel. Staff absolutely amazing caring and very welcoming. But still had room for small table and great tub chairs. Self contained kitchen was also very compact- not much bench space but adequate. Great size tv. Could hear people in next room moving around and their music playing. Excellent room service, and warm welcome from reception. Great views and seating on external balcony. Was a bit out of town but only a short drive to centre of town. There was a small supermarket and some food options a short walk ( up a step hill).

We had a room with a private thermal spa and garden dining - our room opened out into a cute enclosed courtyard where we ate a romantic dinner then enjoyed a luxurious spa! The spa garden was delightfully decorated with a ceiling of artificial plants, and golden tiles, and romantic lighting. Truly a treat! I should have taken more photos! Also, I loved the silver jewel themed bathroom tiles, and the vintage tea cups. Totally recommended for a unique and special getaway!

• Debbie (4/5): In need of refurbishment and quite a walk to town - We stayed in downstairs king bed room with spa tub. We booked this room noy knowing that this was the weekend of the NZ Ironman competition , however the room was very expensive and very tired. In fact this is one of the most expensive places we have stayed in NZ and definitely not the best quality. The spa tub and area around also needs updating. The laundry facility mentioned is the host doing the wash for you for a extra charge. The hotel is a 25 minute walk into town where all the restaurants are. The spa pools near reception are nice. Maybe other rooms at the hotel have been refurbished but ours was definitely overdue.

• Steve (8/5): Beautiful views, great location, lovely staff! - The title says it all. Received a wonderful welcome. Room was a little dated but was perfectly clean and very spacious, and the bed was HUGE!! Incredible views from the deck. Short stroll into town.

• Carol (6/5): - Close to Lake, very nice staff. Very pokey room, caught a cockroach & many ants. I understand this is an older Motel, & we stayed there because it was cheaper then most. The staff do their best, we enjoyed the chocolate pieces left each day.
• Trishy (8/5): - Lovely host who was very welcoming, the accommodation was clean and adequate with partial views of the lake. The mineral pool was an added bonus after an active day. Town centre and cafes were either a 5minute drive or 15 minute walk. Motel was also only a 5 minute walk to the lakeside and walkways. Very happy with this accommodation
