Guest Reviews
- Cecil (8/5): - I have stayed here many times over this last 15 years. I did find this time more noise from the hall or other rooms at late hours. Overall, a good stay that met my requirements.
- Cole (10/5): - Great place to stay for a good price
- timothydegroot (2/5): Too loud to sleep - Staff is extremely loud. Even though myself and many coworkers have asked them to be quiet they continue to talk loudly and converse in the hallways.
The pillows aren't even fit for a dog. Lumpy half empty sacs of cotton.
Bring water, cause the water from the pipes smells bad and tastes even worse. I'd rather well water.
- Amanda (10/5): - Great
- Mary (10/5): - Great access to amenities and a nice walking trail
- Mary (8/5): - Was in a great location for access to amenities and had a nice walking trail
- Lisa (8/5): - Friendly and helpful front desk staff
- Tamara (10/5): - This is our go-to place in Wainwright. The beds are amazing. Always a great sleep. Quiet hotel. There is no breakfast included, but that isn't a deciding factor for us. The comfortable beds are.
- Wai (8/5): - 24/7 check-in
- Treena (10/5): - The staff at R & R are incredible! They are friendly and went out of their way to help us with our check-in. Very conveniently located in the town so you can walk anywhere you need to go. Rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable and just an overall great stay!
- Grant (8/5): - Great
- rochelleh549 (8/5): VERY GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY - Very good accommodation, newly renovated and painted, rooms were very clean (kudos to the clean team!) and well laid out with a table, bar fridge and desk. No breakfast In the morning, but that wasn’t a big deal. We had an adjoined room which was very nice, I have two complaints, one is that the coffee pot was not plugged in, and when attempting to plug the coffee pot in, the fridge(with food in it) had to be moved, to find out that the plug didn’t reach that plug in anyway, we relocated the coffee pot to the bathroom, I think they should add a power bar so the plug will reach or relocate the coffee pot, the other room had the same issue, we also had issues with the locks in our door, however the hostess was quick to contact the correct personnel and have the issue remediated. They allow pets with a nominal fee, although we did not have one. I would not hesitate to return, but booking with the front desk would likely get you better rates and services than online.
- Murray (10/5): Worth every penny. - I booked a kitchenette room as I was staying for twelve days. The room had a separate bedroom with TV. The kitchen had a full size fridge and stove and had all the necessary pots, plates and cutlery that I needed. I was very happy with the room and will be rebooking here on my next stay.
- John (10/5): - It was all good
- trevor (6/5): - Doesn’t have breakfast but everything else was decent
- David (10/5): - My room was excellent. There were 2 TVs, there is a bar style eating area. A wide sofa and a love seat and a table with 2 chairs. The kitchen area had a decent size fridge, stove and microwave and plates and cutlery supplied!
- William (10/5): - Great
- david (4/5): - When I arrived at the hotel I noticed that the parking lot was almost completely empty. That made me immediately feel like this wasn’t a good place to stay. I went in to the lobby to check in and the desk clerk wanted me to pay for the night in advance, which was a little out of the ordinary and made me nervous of the kind of clientele the hotel catered to. I mentioned that I hadn’t even seen the room yet, but it didn’t matter, the desk clerk said it just made things easier in the morning. I tried to pay with my debit card but the machine wouldn’t accept my PIN number so I felt panicked and embarrassed and I was a long way from home and just wanted a place to rest. I tried over and over but it wouldn’t accept my payment. Finally I left and was able to book another room at another hotel through the website. When I recently checked my credit card statement, I saw that the hotel did charge me 136 dollars for the night that I didn’t even stay. I feel this is pretty low. I don’t travel to Wainwright often, but needless to say, I won’t ever be booking this hotel again. But hey, they got my money for the night so what do they care?
- Robert (10/5): - Great staff
- Mctet (8/5): Great Value! - We had an unplanned overnight stay in Wainwright when there were apparently a number of events happening in town, so we called the R & R from down the block, hoping they had space. Fortunately, they had an executive suite available for a very reasonable price - almost so good that we were a little worried what we were getting into. We had nothing to worry about; the room not only had a king sized bed, but it had a double jacuzzi bathtub - score!! Everything worked fine, it was quiet, it was clean, and it was quite a large room. The hotel doesn't include breakfast, but the reasonable price more than covered the cost to eat out. The only (minor) drawback was there was a sidetable on only one side of the bed, when there was lots of room to put a small table on both sides; as a result, one side was pretty dark without a lamp. The front desk staff was efficient. It was not a fancy hotel, but we would certainly stay at the R&R again.
- George (8/5): - I chose this Inn because it was the close to both the Rodeo grounds and the train station - and also because it was a Rodeo sponsor. I arrived by train to visit the Rodeo, and I was able to easily walk everywhere in Wainwright during my visit.
- Kevin (10/5): - Decent hotel conditions for the price. Fridge and microwave were nice to have. Comfy beds and pillows. Very clean.
- Brenda (8/5): - Easy access to the Trans Canada Hwy. The staff were friendly
- Pat (8/5): - I didn't like the fact that the jettub wasn't working properly
- Julie (8/5): - Comfortable room but lots of noise from others after midnight. Not sure if in the hallway or adjacent rooms.
- Pat (8/5): - The stay was good the jet tub some jets didn't work
- Brianne (8/5): - Great stay
- arlene (10/5): - Friendly and informative staff, clean and pet friendly environment.Looking forward to book my next stay again!
- Dale (8/5): - All was good.
- Gerald (8/5): - I was pleasantly surprised
- Ekaterina (10/5): Good value for money but could use a few small twe - Very good value for money. The jacuzzi function in the tub did not work. There is a microwave and a Keurig coffeemaker but no hot cups or silverware. I would have appreciated actual mugs that I could use to heat up water, for a 4-night stay, it was definitely an inconvenience to have to go to the coffee shop and order a coffee so I could get my hands on a paper cup that I could then reuse. Could use an upgrade to lighting, the room looks dim and dark.
- Randall (6/5): - Close to business for work purposes
- Brian (8/5): - The beds/pillows/bedding were very comfortable.
- Phil (8/5): - Curtain over heater crazy had to tuck into window sill
- Jean (10/5): - The suite has a in room jacuzzi tub. King size bed also.
- Jean (4/5): - The wifi has been down the entire stay
- Jean (6/5): - The staff is always great.
- Steve (8/5): - Property was clean and beds comfortable. Staff, especially housekeeping, were friendly and helpful.
- Lindy (10/5): Sweet little spot - Great experience, quiet place. Clean and staff were very friendly.
- Kenneth (8/5): - We liked that it was easy to get to our granddaughter's ball game in the next town from this location.
- Janine's (8/5): - It was a beautiful suite
- Jean (10/5): - The staff was super accommodating. I love the suite with the jetted tub.
- RENE (6/5): - The customer service at the front desk needs to be revalued. This my 3rd stay there and either the front desk too busy with the workers staying there flirting or they extremely rude during the day. Focusing on their behaviours with other ppl wanting to stay there would be exhilarating but I get the workers the bread and butter.
- Barbara (10/5): - I booked aa room with a king bed and jetted tub for the same price as a single, and it did not disappoint! The tub was amazing! The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful!
- THOMAS (8/5): - very clean.
- Shelley (8/5): - .
- Lorne (10/5): - Spacious clean room, basic quality for the price paid.
- Jenny (8/5): - Our room was comfortable with two easy chairs which was a nice touch. The staff was welcoming. This property was comfortable and economical.
- Lucas (10/5): - Excellent!!!
- Lucas (10/5): - Excellent!
- Jean (10/5): - I like the suits with the jetted tub in the room The king size bed is super comfy as well
- Daniel (10/5): - Builder a bit old need a fresh coat of paint
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Place to stay on a budget - Front desk staff was friendly during check-in and check-out. Room was spotless. Beds were comfortable with tons of pillows to spare. Good selection of TV channels. Our room had outdoor access with our parking stall directly outside the door for convenience. Overall a great place to stay for a good price.
- Miranda (10/5): - I liked the value for the rate. Very, very clean and comfortable bed. Nothing fancy but exactly what one needs for a night or two stay.

- Dave (8/5): - Next to hiway
- Bruce (8/5): - Nice place and well maintained. Price is reasonable and staff is friendly and outgoing. The only issue I saw at all was I couldn’t find breakfast although it was advertised. Nonetheless a great experience overall
- Jean (10/5): - The room was great nice and spacious. The bed was super comfortable.just needed more cups for coffee . We were able to get a earlier check in time as well as a later check out time. I told the girl that I would stay there again on my birthday next visit.
- Raymond (4/5): - Room was dark, not enough light, little black flies coming out of the drain in the sink in the bathroom, pillows were hard.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - room clean and comfortable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This is an older property but was large, and clean. Also quiet a d were able to park right in front of our door.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice place,Very clean. No breakfast here like it says on line. Front desk very friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly Staff
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was not properly cleaned. Dirty dishes dirty blankets dirty towels...
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Affordable place. Seems to be used as accommodations for CN Rail with uniformed employees being shuttled back and forth continually.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Price was reasonable
- Verified traveler (10/5): Will stay again - Room was nice, clean and easily accessible. Pet friendly with access to both inside and outside from within the room. Designated parking space for the room. Beds are comfortable. Located equidistant from all major necessities within the town.
- Samuel (10/5): Great room wity jacuzzi - Great hotel. I had the jacuzzi suite and had an amazing sleep.
- Kassteal (10/5): - All the staff were very nice and friendly would deffiantly come back the room was very clean as well
- christinaB (10/5): - So when we got to property we were told the expedia was contacted via email as price for hotel stay was less then on site as there is no conteniental breakfast. could you please advise when we will be refunded some of our money from our stay?
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Should do away with their” breakfast”. A poptart in a brown paper bag is embarrassing. Give me a 5.00 coupon for Tim Hortons or McDonald’s. The bed was very comfortable so the rest was good. Overall stay would be average.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Was very clean, quiet, friendly and affordable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel was really clean and in good condition. But there was some weird smell coming from sheets and hallway carpet.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was perfect this time and my room was much much quieter,
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room had all the amenities.Great mattresses, outside appearance excellent.
- stormyone23 (10/5): Great Find - First time in Wainwright, were just passing thru. Checked out a few places to stay & this was the best by far! Check in was easy, & the clerk gave a us better rate than any of the booking sites! Rooms were clean, spacious and the beds very comfortable.
Breakfast was just what we needed, a good selection of breads & cereals. Definitely recommended
- 974lorin (6/5): Mixed feelings - We have stayed at other R&R's and while again this property is clean, quiet and very comfortable I wasn't thrilled. There was a large group of contractors staying at the property and had taken over the breakfast room as their office. This meant we ate at tables set up in the lobby. I was not particularly comfortable. Yes we could have taken our breakfast to our room IF they had offered trays. And breakfast selection was very wanting in comparison to other R& R'S we have stayed at. Won't be on the top of my stay list for Wainwright.
- TheDutchCanuck1 (8/5): Pleasantly Surprised - I travel often for business and “motel” like accommodations are regular for me. The R&R Wainwright highly exceeded my expectations! I was anticipating just another motel but this was a much higher quality. The bedding is updated and super comfortable. The room was huge too, I had a full couch to lounge on while I watched the hockey game on the flat screen. Very impressed. Only giving four stars as there may be some communication issues between the night staff and morning front desk; I had asked for a late check out and the morning staff wasn’t aware that the night staff had approved me for it. Regardless, that’s quite a minor issue and I believe this is the best place to stay in Wainwright, I will be back again.
- returning (6/5): THE BED!!!!! - We staying in room 201, a Jacuzzi suite. Even though the room was a little on the small side it was adequate. Skip to the BEST stuff - the bed was AMAZING! I wanted to bring it home and the pillow choice was also incredible (there was even a flatter one for my hubby!) The Jacuzzi tub filled fast & all but one jet was working well. The room was a little dark though. There was only a bedside table with a lamp on one side of the bed so we had to rearrange the room so I could read too. There was a mini fridge and a microwave as well. Breakfast was a bit disappointing - it was from 6AM to 9AM and was just an assortments of bread for toast, cold cereal and a bit of yogurt, fruit and coffee. So not the worst selection it was just in an awkward tight location and the time it ended was way too early. It should run until at least 10 AM or even later - if you are travelling you don't necessarily want to get up that early.
- SanLyn (8/5): Great Place to Stay - While in Wainwright for a wedding we stayed at R&R Inn and they had nice clean rooms for us to stay. We had booked about 8 or 9 rooms and they had us all together which was so convenient for being able to touch base with each other when we needed to as well as getting together in the times that we weren't at the wedding. The desk staff were great although I found when checking in the front desk were a little overwhelmed with all of us at once but they managed.
The beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious. They only thing that I would want to see is a few more coffee pods in the room as well as sweetener was not provided.
The breakfast bar was a little sparse but adequate for a little something in the morning before heading off for the day.
I also found the hotel to be fairly centralized so not too far from everything
All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel while in Wainwright.
- dawntofsrud (8/5): Great service nice room - We arrived late pulling a boat trailer. There was plenty of parking for the truck and trailer. Rooms were clean, comfortable and roomy for our group of 4. Super helpful staff kept an eye on the boat through the night. Killer high pressure shower!
- heatherthompson03 (2/5): STAY AWAY....! - I've stayed at various motels in Wainwright for leisure, but my company had booked a room for me at R&R Inn and it was definitely one of the most filthiest motels I have ever been to. It's a low budget motel, but this place was below any human standards. Smoke was seeping through the walls (even though I was staying in a non-smoking room), the bathroom had brown smears on the wall, and the sink was clogged with hair. I asked them to switch my room, but the new room was no better.
The entire motel is just really outdated and the rooms just doesn't feel clean. There was also strands of hair all over the ground (as if the floor has never been vacuumed), and when I complained for the second time, the front desk receptionist was so rude and just rolled her eyes, and told me if I wasn't happy with the room, I can just go to another motel.
Terrible rooms, distasteful service, and gross just overall.
So I would simply stay far far away from this place, and pay extra for Ramada or Best Western, or find another low budget motel instead (there are a few nice ones out there).
- jayne161 (8/5): Best sleep in wainwright! - This place was $125 including taxes. The room was quality renovated and the bed was the best comparing with a popular chain hotel also in wainwright that advertises great mattresses. I'd go there any day for a great sleep. A bit of outside noise but u can't eliminate that completely. One downside, when I went out to grab my diabetic mom some breakfast at 8am there was nothing available. Probably a misstep?! It was Christmas holidays maybe that's why.
- 725rickym (4/5): Smokers - Smokers poison comes through air system into non-smokers rooms. Otherwise just ok. Traffic noise outside. Next time, will stay at the Ramada. This reminds me of the Camp Rooms on job sites. Yuk... front desk staff friendly enough.
- jrob143 (4/5): Would never stay there again - Upon receiving an invitation to an event in Wainwright and seeing R&R Inn listed as an accommodation option on the invite, we made a reservation by phoning the hotel directly, about 3 months in advance. I received a confirmation number for a standard, non-smoking room with a rate of $99.97, as stated on the invite. I phoned the day before to confirm our reservation and see if it would be possible to check in early in the afternoon of arrival to change before going to the event. I was told that would be fine. We checked in and received our keycards. When we entered the room, it had a king bed and a Jacuzzi tub. I was concerned that they'd given us the wrong room and did not want to be charged extra, so I immediately went to the front desk to inquire. The front desk staff was confused, inexperienced and had no authority to do anything. She tried to phone someone else, but couldn't reach them, and the computer wouldn't assign the type of room we had reserved. After about a half hour and once she'd reached someone by phone, she said she could give us the king room for $124.99. I explained that we had reserved a room for $99.97 and that's all we wanted to pay. All they had to move us to for the price we'd reserved at was a smoking room; the stench was terrible. Since we only had to spend a short night in the room after the event, we took that because it was too late to find another place to stay and by then we were running late to get to the event. We each travel for business also and have never experienced such poor service at a hotel anywhere. We were very disappointed and would never recommend anyone stay at this hotel.
- quartag5 (2/5): Two stays...1st & last - Thought I'd give it a try and now I know. This hotel will be near the end of my options for staying in Wainwright. The room was stale and I dared not take my socks off. The bed was comfortable and clean but the pillows were worn out and had no substance. The walls are so thin they may as well not have been there. The breakfast room is tiny and was a disaster every morning. And to top off the experience, the front desk lady woke me up to lecture me about smoking pot in my room...wasn't me! Obviously she couldn't be bothered to get off her ...chair to go down the hall to actually determine where it was coming from and chose to go down the list via phone and wake everyone up. Unfortunately lodging is very sparse in Wainwright so I'll have to consider driving to another community; it'll be a worthwhile drive instead of staying here again.
- EMEMIKE (6/5): I rank this hotel 3rd in town - The rooms at the R&R are better than average in size and are quite clean. The hotel is a little dated but improvements have been made such as the complimentary breakfast room ( wasn't there before) WIFI and flat screen TV's. If you are looking to save a few bucks this is the place to stay. If price is no object, the Ramada or Best Western is for you. The only complaint that I had on this trip was the locking system for my room and the phones. I had to get my key recoded 2 or 3 times a day and good luck trying to make any long distant calls,( can't get through). Staff at the front explained that they are using a new switchboard system and are having troubles.
