- Andrea (10/5): - Our second visit and it certainly did not disappoint. From our arrival, being met in the car park, through our stay to the very last minute, the staff could not do enough for us. Room was spacious and well laid out. Lemon cake already in the room was delicious. Grounds are amazing especially if like me, you are interested in plants, their growth and wellbeing. The orchard and veg/herb gardens are a joy. We opted for the tasting menu which was wonderful. Strawberry dessert was to die for. Just before we left we were lucky enough to meet Raymond Blanc who happily stood with us gor a photo and signed our copy of the menu. Second visit, now looking forward to our third hopefully.

I cannot say enough good things and the marvelous staff should all be commended. Peter who welcomed me at the car park, Becky & Theo at reception who settled me in to the lovely Hollyhock room in the main house. In dining Sarah in the lounge, Caoimhe in the dining room, Edith at breakfast - and all the staff whose names I sadly can't remember made me feel welcome as a solo diner and left no need unmet - even needs I didn't realize I had! The glorious menu (best breakfast ever), the tasting at dinner. Sigh. So glad I took photos to make sure it wasn't just some fabulous dream.

- Verified traveler (6/5): - I think we feel overall disappointed. The room was tired and the door did not lock. Despite knowing it was a special occasion and asking our preferences before hand. We felt on arrival none of this had registered, we had forewarned about a food allergy but arriving for dinner this had not been noted and we had to ask again. The only option given to me with a shellfish allergy was the vegetarian menu, despite eating white fish. We had come to le manoir for a good food experience and sadly felt it hadn’t delivered. We are really sad that what had been known to us as very special venue was beginning to feel ordinary at an extraordinary price.

- Ellen (10/5): - One of the finest Relais et Chateaux propertied we have ever stayed at. No request was too much. The staff went above and beyond expectations. The gardens are stunning and produce the delicious fruits and veggies that the two Michelin star chef, Raymond Blanc, uses in his amazing dishes. All in all, a wonderful experience and highly recommended.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Le manoir de prix élevés et de mal valeur - Le Manoir is a beautiful old building in well established gardens. However I think it is now long overdue for a refurbishment- in particular the public areas are looking tired and dated and the interior of the Orangerie which looks scruffy and a real mixture of styles. I also find the statues around the building quite off putting - art is of course very personal but I really did not like the imagery of the statues. The room we were allocated was fine for a one night stay and the bed was very comfortable. The room really was quite cluttered with too much furniture. The hotel kindly put a fridge in the room for fresh milk but what with this and two boxes for tea and coffee it was just very cluttered. It would have been better to have a hospitality tray and the milk in a built in minibar. The grounds of the hotel are nice but some of the paths have seen better days and the corridor to the rooms in outbuilding is looking a little tired. Dinner in the evening was very enjoyable (although horribly expensive - £25 per course that could fit on a saucer is exorbitant to say the least) and was served by a professional team of staff who were helpful and informative. Drinks likewise are legendarily expensive but I guess it goes with the territory. Breakfast was a disappointing affair and in particular the service lacked attention to detail and the staff were lacking in warmth. You are paying a high price to stay here and it just doesn’t feel value for money.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - It pains me to give a mark down as it is an exquisite hotel & experience I escape to when I can. Unfortunately this time my planned morning lounge in the bath didn’t work as the plug is broken & doesn’t seal it, one of their top suites too☹️ Last nights dinner was in a league of its own as always. Despite this mornings failure I will be back as it’s a unique & favourite place in the world.
