When I checked in it was before the restaurant was open and while people were there, there wasn't someone readily available who knew how to check people in. Also if you had any questions or needed something you needed to go to the restaurant

- ROGER (7/5): Clipper Inn is Alright. - Clipper Inn was fine for a one night stay in Clayton to see the 1000 Island area for the first time. Old school motel room which you really don't want to spend too much time in.

- Elizabeth (8/5): Good, but ick. - I didn't like the dusty towel rack in the bathroom, the dead bugs on the window sill, or the spider on the ceiling. Loved that there was a patio, but it wasn't clean. Everything else was good.
- Robert (10/5): - The restaurant was amazing. Father & and Son duo cook some amazing food. The early dinner special is fantastic. We were able to have a glass of wine, appetizer, salad, main course & dessert for 2 and spent $100. A new course came out as we finished the previous serving. The timing & service were wonderful. The room was comfortable. We loved the private back porch. The bathroom was large with handrails for safety & a heat lamp. My only critique is the TV. It's small, maybe 32". I would put up a 42-50" TV & cover all of the plugs below it. We didn't watch TV, so it didn't matter to us, but someone who wanted to watch from the bed would find a small screen, not a good viewing experience. They are so inexpensive these days that I recommend an upgrade.

- Wendy (6/5): - I knew it was an older property. But expected clean floors. When we entered the room I looked at the bathroom floor, I first thought maybe stained? I grabbed a wash cloth and wiped the floor. The wash cloth was black! I washed the washcloth out several times and went over all the floors in the room. I was amazed at how much dirt came up that was without any cleanser and just cold water. We kept our shoes on in the room. My sheet, although I could tell they had been washed, and the linens were clean had a blood stain on it. The patio was covered in debris and when you went out there and came back in the room, you tracked it back in. If the floors were clean, this room would've been fine and I wouldn't have complained at all, but they were disgustingly dirty.

- Carol (4/5): I would not recommend this "inn". - Nothing to note. No breakfast of any kind. No safety locks on entrance doors to rooms - except a tiny hook at the upper part of the door. Reception desk a pain to access - front door of inn was locked, had to ring doorbell to get in. Uncomfortable mattresses and rough inexpensive linens. Only plus was a decent location.

- Shirley (6/5): It was overall okay! - Very happy with supplies in the room! Nice and clean room. Great location within minutes to restaurants and more. Our items were moved out the bedroom before checkout time. Arrived at 10:07am to get back to the room to shower and relax after breakfast on Sunday morning. Bed sheets were pulled off the bed to be replaced. Entered the room surprisingly lady was cleaning 1 hour before we can check out. I was charged only half of the price for the room for the inconvenience. But I think I would rather have enjoyed a nice relaxing Sunday vacation!

We had a small, private area off the back with an outdoor table & chairs. Wish there was a broom to brush off the twigs & leaves from nearby trees, otherwise it was nice.

Quaint rooms with clean and comfortable amenities. Love the friendly and accommodating staff , ice and water machine is the icing on the cake. Short walk into town for shopping and dining options. Golf and pickle ball across the street . Great value for all the extras.

It was extremely hot and humid outside, so the clean air-conditio - For a motel, the room/bathroom were clean, and the air conditioning worked well. The walls were thin, and our neighbor had a whimpering dog, which was a bit unfortunate, but thankfully, the air conditioning and white noise on a cell phone drowned out. Not crazy about regular blankets, and would prefer white duvet covers that can be removed and bleached for each new guest. Better quality pillows would also be helpful.

- Marcus (4/5): - Unfortunately, we stayed at The Clipper Inn. This a motel than a hotel. There were cobwebs in the corner ceiling with a spider in it. The toilet leaked at the base and bugs in the bathroom. The floor was dirty so had to wear shoes all the time. Finally, the beds are worn out. I woke up with an aching back. They need to refresh the property immediately.

We were only there one night and it served our needs very well. You can't walk to anything, but we had a car so this was not a problem. The restaurant was closed the night we were there and there was no breakfast. Breakfast on sight would have been convenient, but not a big deal for us. We were very happy with The Clipper Inn. It was so quaint, and we met other guests who were also a blast to sit on the front porch with. It is centrally located for the islands. A little small but it was perfect for us.

We sat on the small patio adjacent to the room one night and something came running from the restaurant area across the patio, not a rabbit or a mouse but no one hung around long enough to get a good look.
