Me cambiaron de edificio sin avisar y me di cuenta cuando llegue al que había alquilado, no respondían los correos y sufrí más de 2 horas junto con Booking de intermediario para que me dieran una habitación en otro lado. Me dieron una mucho más pequeña e incómoda, con un monton de fallas, pero eran más de las 9 pm y no encontraba donde quedarme. Según los locales de al lado y otros inquilinos eso le pasa a la mayoría que les alquila. No volvería ni gratis.
• Jeremy (1/5): Negligent host - no hot water for 4 days - - Location is good (though a ton of noise at night) Apartment is spacious The apartment did not have hot water. I told them an hour after I arrived. The host (a company, Alterhome), refused to fix it promptly. They told me various things -- the repairman is coming tomorrow, the part will take 7 days, there was some emergency that required their staff... Ultimately, I had to leverage a personal connection to the company... It still took four total days; a repairman had to come, verify the hot water heater was broken and replace it. I had to shower in the cold. If you look through the reviews, you can see this is not uncommon. This company is clearly negligent with its maintenance (apparently the maintenance guy couldn't come because they had a whole apartment building without power). Perhaps the hot water heater keeps breaking because they buy cheap ones. By the way, if this happens to you, you can file an official "hoja de reclamacion" with the Madrid government. I recommend you do that as Alterhome is clearly a repeat offender and apparently it is both illegal to not provide hot water to guests and to refuse to fill out the Hoja (both of which Alterhome did). You can use ChatGPT to help you process it -- apparently you might be able to get a full refund. I had to invest significant amounts of my time talking to them, trying various solutions they suggested (like going into the electrical panel and flipping switches), and booking.com I wanted them to cancel and /I'd relocate (ignoring the increased cost of a last minute booking0. I suggested they just move me or even give me enough to book another place. They simply refused. They eventually offered me 10% off but I didn't want to accept as the hot water had not been fixed. On the unit itself: - it is VERY loud on the street. I had earplugs and still couldn't sleep - I'd say it's pretty uncomfortable. The couch is pretty bad as are the chairs at the table.

• Tatiana (10/5): We liked the apartment - We really liked the apartment; it exceeded our expectations. Instead of two beds, there were three, which was very convenient for us. When the TV broke, they brought a new one very quickly! The administrators are online at any time of the day or night, respond to all questions, and answer quickly. We liked it!

Boa internet A porta do edifício está pichada, causa má impressão. A limpeza deveria ser mais criteriosa, o sofá estava com mal cheiro. Se vc busca silencio, não é o lugar, a localização central é ruidosa por natureza, o que não me incomodou nesse ponto.

Informative and helpful communication from the hosts. The heating was confusing. I turned the A/C on the living room but was not sure it worked properly. The water pressure from the shower was not very good, and it was hard have warm water, it either was burning hot or cold.

The location is perfect, the main attractions and entertainment are within walking distance. The presence of parks nearby is an additional plus. The service and attention of your staff is good.

Steps from Plaza de España and 2 metro stations. The apartment was spacious and comfortable for 4 people. Great Wifi and good communication from hosts. A bit noisy late at night on the weekend. The kitchen needs more glasses and cutlery.

• Marina (9/5): Very cozyapartment to discover the center of Madrid - Nice and cozy apartment in a very central location, and in the same time in a small quiet street. The bed is good enough. Everything was clean and working as expected. Kitchen stuff is to pour, especially the board was missed a lot. And I wouldn’t recommend to use a sofa as a bed. And the floor is quite creaky, for us as a parents of 2 babies it was annoying:)
• Víctor (7/5): Good - The location was perfect for what I was trying to do, the flat was very centric, and allow me to visit all places comfortably, as I was alone, I found the flat spacious and comfy. My flat didn't look as good as it looks on the pictures, but it was good enough for me. My experience collecting the keys was pretty bad, I needed to collect the keys that were located in a different building nearby, but when I arrived at the building the keys were in a lock box inside of the building, and the building was locked. I was given some instructions on how to open the lock box, but I wasn't given any instructions on how to open the building main door, therefore, I needed to message the property via WhatsApp (it didn't allow me to call them), who informed me that I needed to download an app to open the main door and send me a link to download this app. I was solo travelling dragging a large heavy suitcase, and the whole process felt painful and unnecessary stressful. Thankfully it didn't rain, otherwise, it could have been dramatic all this time waiting on the door. I was also very stressed when I needed to leave the property early in the morning, generally speaking, it is easy to return the keys that are on a lock box in the same building, but returning the keys in a different building when you are dragging a large suitcase, and it is complex to open the main door, I found the whole thing way too complex. I left the keys on top of the table inside of the flat and closed the door, but as I needed to leave before I got a response from the property, this way of leaving left me nervous. This property contacted me and asked what exact time I will arrive and leave, I found that is too inquisitive at times, however, it would have been much nicer if they provide ALL the steps to collect and return they keys from a different building upfront. Ideally the whole process should be simplified, as I definitely do not want to repeat the experience with keys in different buildings that are no easy to collect.

• María (10/5): Comfortable and clean apartment in Madrid - Lovely and spacious apartment just a 5 min walk from Plaza España. Lots of restaurants, cafes and stores nearby. The team were very responsive and even let us check in early the day we arrived. Would definitely book again!
• Daniela (1/5): Complete Scam: Misleading Photos, Broken Furniture, Unhelpful Resolution - Nothing BEWARE OF SCAMMERS!!!! We booked this property expecting a comfortable stay based on the pictures. However, upon arrival (April 2024), we found the place to be completely different. The furniture was outdated, and one of the mattresses was unusable, leaving us to sleep on the floor. We contacted the property owners (Alterhome, Madrid) about the broken bed and sofa bed, but they never came to fix them and kept ignoring us. Despite Booking.com initially supporting our cancellation request, we faced difficulty getting a full refund. We were still charged a cancellation fee and cleaning fee even though we slept on the floor and stayed less than 24 hours due to the unsuitable conditions. If you're looking for a comfortable and reliable stay in Madrid, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

The location is really great, right near the Plaza de Espana. A tiny thing: The apartment is unstaffed, so I had a small problem where I accidentally locked myself out of the apartment. Thankfully, through some coordination on Whatsapp, they were able to let me in.
• Thabet (6/5): Pleasant - Location. The Appartement was clean. Bed is comfortable. Late check out was nice The sofa is not really comfortable and difficult to open. Not enough shampoo or paper. It is not advised to book with a breakfast as you can buy better stuff from DIA or Carrefour with fair costs. The worst was that one day a policeman rang the bell at 1am, but we did not open the door. We could not know why, or what the problem was, as he spoke spanish. The host responded quickly per WhatsApp, but he did not show up or answer the Problem indeed. A "fan" was defective and so loud. We could not sleep well at the same day. It is better to book in a Hotel.

We really liked the location, it was so good to be so near everything and a light of the highlights that we wanted to visit was on walking distance. We felt comfortable that we could contact the hosts easily. Overall the apartment was clean, but maybe it would be good to change the curtains, they seem to have accumulated a bit of dust and this was a little uncomfortable due to our allergy.

• Nicole (3/5): The apartment needs to be renovated and freshened up. - The location was really good. Close to Plaza España and Gran Via. The apartment is really run down, not at all as fresh as in the pictures. The furniture is worn and uncomfortable (found a spider in the sofa), and the walls are stained. It was also quite dirty when I arrived (kitchen and floors). The kitchen had a bad smell.

• Andrey (2/5): Mold smell and not very clean apartment - Location is great, near plaza de Espania. The building is old and there's mold smell. The apartment is very dirty, all wardrobes are very dusty. The washing machine was broken when we moved in. I've let the owner know and he sent the technician. He came next day but couldn't fix the problem. He said someone will come tomorrow, but nobody came. I've asked the owner a few times about it but it wasn't fixed when we moved out in a week.
• Gerard (10/5): Exceptional - The attentiveness of the staff was exceptional. We visit Madrid very frequently, as our daughter lives there, and we know the area well. The layout of the property was good, with separate bathroom access and an excellent apartment size for two couples. As a Surveyor managing let property I consider the service to be exceptional. Finally, the electronic key system allows each person to have an individual "key" on their phone. We plan to stay again with this company. Perhaps there could have a toaster.. Could note that, from the street, you press the apartment call button then activate the key. No real issues.
• Yee (9/5): perfect short or long stay - The location This place is value for the money carrefour express is just around the corner plenty of eateries, bars and Asian market next door to a convenience store and pharmacy metro is less than 40 steps away The management “Juan & Bea” trying their best to solve & help in everything, like what they mentioned in their responses to others' comments. They take their job very seriously and aim high to make their guests happy. we were here for 3 weeks and can truly witness this. I also see reviews stating the place is filthy but the fact is the place is very clean and most appliances are new. I love the huge bathroom too 😊 Need a kettle or a Nespresso machine but you can make tea, coffee in the microwave misrepresentation of the pictures of this place
• Tori (6/5): Excellent location, covers the basics and not much else. - Excellent location, close to plenty of great bars, restaurants and the metro. Area feels very safe as there are always plenty of people around no matter the time. Generally the suburb is quite busy and can be noisy overnight but the bedroom is off the street and is very quiet. Wifi was great. Host was responsive. The place is very basic, with minimal amenities provided. For a three week stay I had hoped to receive more dish soap, rubbish bags, toilet paper, and bathroom products. Some critical basics were lacking - such as tea towels, and the toaster which was advertised on booking.com. There was no laundry detergent or dishwashing liquid - I bought some but only used a tiny amount so left them for the next guest. Providing these essentials would elevate the apartment to the next level. The key is an online internet link, which is good and a simple system however I spent three weeks in fear of running out of battery, losing internet connection or having my phone lost/stolen as no alternate manner of accessing the property or contacting the owners was provided. The lobby and stairway of the building are incredibly dark, during the day as well as the night, with timer lights that either don't switch on or turn off too quickly - so be prepared to have your phone torch on at all hours when coming or going. The lobby and stairs also smell terribly of cigarette smoke - although fortunately this wasn't so noticeable in the apartment. All in all a great bolt hole but don't expect anything flashy, and if staying for more than a few days you will need to buy many essentials for yourself that will go to waste at the end of your stay.

Because we had some difficulties to get in the first time. Would be helpful if they can send a video of the instructions. That there a dryer for the clothes and something to put the soap in the shower.
