There was also a wee fridge in the room for milk for tea which I appreciated. Lots of little extras - Lindor sweets by the bed, Yorkshire tea in the room. We asked to drop off our bags prior to check in and when we arrived back for check in our bags were in our room, and the owner offered to make us tea and shortbread! Nothing

Thomas is very attentive to his guests and was very welcoming. We were also able to park our car in their available parking space. We also had breakfast, which was excellent, in a very welcoming and relaxing room. Highly recommended.

We were in Oban for an event so were out and about all day anyway. Excellent breakfast. Also a parking space which is a bonus in Oban. Nothing we didn't like but it is a steep climb up from the town if you are walking.

Les (10/5): Lovely B&B in Oban - I had an excellent stay at the Failte Guesthouse. My room was quiet, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was really lovely with lots of choice. The host Thomas, was very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Kristina (10/5): - Perfect for a night in Oban! This charming B&B was located up the hill away from the noise and crowds yet walkable to everything in town. Parking was right in front of the house. Thomas the owner was very attentive, friendly and helpful. Our room and adjoining bathroom which was up on the second floor was bright, modern and squeaky clean. Rooms are stocked with coffee, teas and shortbreads. Breakfast was lovely and delicious! Pretty much all options were available including but not limited to a classic Scottish breakfast, toast, oatmeal, fruits, cereals and teas. The only call outs to travelers and I want to emphasize it wasn’t an issue for us is that rooms are on the small size so if you spend a lot of time in your room or have loads of luggage it will be tight and also water pressure from the shower is light. Overall would highly recommend and would stay there again if we ever made it back to Oban!

Thomas and Isabel have thought of everything and have added little individual touches that show a desire to raise their game .. e.g. small fridge in the room (every B&B should do this) and offer of fresh milk for in-room cofee/tea. I was in small single so bed against wall is ideal to ensure you don't roll off .. wooden pannelled surround is, therefore, elegant and beautiful. Extra hand rails on stairway .. excellent and thoughtful for those not so young and agile any more. And the i/d sign at the entrance .. carved wood .. epitomises the desire to excel. AND .. THE Eggs Benedict at brekkie .. wonderful. NOTHING

Gail (7/5): OK for one night but I wouldn't choose for a longer stay. - This is a perfectly pleasant bed and breakfast with comfortable bed but exceptionally small ensuite. It is located on a very steep hill (not uncommon in Oban) and has a very tight steep staircase which is typical to period but a bit of a challenge. The host was very good about taking by bag up and down the stairs for which I was very grateful, The ensuite was really exceptionally small and the shower basically unusable. Otherwise the room, which was a single, was fine.
Elwood (10/5): An exceptional B&B to stay in Oban - Fialtè B&B exceeded our expectations in every way. The hosts paid attention to detail, and every amenity was provided with the highest quality. Nothing was forgotten. Thomas was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. His suggestions as to restaurants, directions, etc., were 'spot on'. The location was convenient. Parking was available at the property. The room was very comfortable in every way. And breakfast was also very good. We enjoyed our stay and will try to stay at Failtè if we return to Oban. I cannot think of anything we would change at Failtèe B&B. However, one should be aware that Oban is hilly away from the seafront, so the walk from Failte down to the harbour is fairly steep.

I was cold in the evening in my room. I turned on the heather but it wasn't working. The owner send me message to check if everything was ok. I answered being cold and asked how to put a bit of warmth and I never had an answer... Also, the music in the breakfast room shouldn't be imposed. It is a good idea probably. But some people just prefer to eat in the quiet in the morning... Bathroom was a bit tight. Parking not practical (one car behind the other).

Holly (10/5): A short but very comfortable stay! Would highly recommend staying here. - Thomas was very friendly and helpful, even sending restaurant recommendations before we arrived. He greeted us from the car and showed us to our room as well as giving us tips for visiting Oban. The room was clean and comfortable; I loved the furnishings and clever use of space (the mini fridge was perfect). The breakfast was delicious with homemade bread and jams. I loved the chocolate by the bed in the cute glass jar, such a sweet touch! Everything was lovely.

Thomas was also kind enough to lay a Candlelit Dinner table for us to allow us to eat a takeaway dinner (Covid meaning restaurants were closed) to celebrate our engagement. The cooked breakfast was also faultless. We would happily stay again if in the area!

Breakfast was the best I had on my whole trip (as well as the lunch I had at the local seafood shack which was amazing and I’m a snob about seafood). The inn keeper was lovely as well. I’ll be back!

Hanns (10/5): supernetter Service, und gut gelegen zur Ortsmitte - Thomas ist ein ausgezeichneter Gastgeber, der ein beeindruckendes Frühstück servierte. Sein Haus ist am Hang oberhalb der Ortsmitte gelegen, man ist also sehr schnell zu Fuß am Hafen, bei den Restaurants, und auch der Destillerie. Es ist lediglich etwas steil. Das Zimmer war tadellos sauber, Badezimmer klein aber ausreichend. Das Bett war sehr bequem. Alles was man zum Wohlfühlen braucht.

Barry J (10/5): The Failty......Charming and Excellent! - It was a wet, grey afternoon when we arrived at Oban. Although we were a couple of hours before check-in time, we went to Failte B & B to try and get a local street map. Thomas, the host, could not be more helpful. He showed us where to leave our car, gave us a map and also details of the local points of interest as well as detailed recommendations about places to have dinner. The location of the Failty is excellent, a short walk to town centre, distillery and McCain's Monument. The interior of the Failty is spotless and charming. The complimentary chocolate treats in our room were much appreciated. Breakfast was excellent and included freshly baked bread! Overall the Failty could not be faulted. Would certainly recommend it to fellow travellers.

You can tell the owners really put time and thought into their menus and all the extras that were in the room. Wifi was strong, the only thing that we had issues with was the shower. We weren’t able to regulate the water temperature, it was either scalding hot or freezing cold if you chose the high pressure setting but you could maintain a somewhat warm temperature if you chose the weaker pressure. This b&b is located centrally but be warned it is on a pretty steep inclined hill.

Karen (10/5): Elegance inOban - Lovely characteer that welcomes in Gallic its visitors with elegance and grace. The gardens are beautiful. The room was clean in its white linens and offered a fridge and kettle for a tea or coffee. The owner Thomas went out of his way to make every angle of our stay divine. The food was spectacular drawing from local merchants and produce. I was also close to downtown if one fancied a walk up or down hill. In a heartbeat I would return and refer anyone looking for a quaint getaway.
