• Magi (10/5): Great value in heart of Liverpool - Great value for money, no frills stay! It is a little noisy as it’s central Liverpool so bring earplugs! Would stay again

• adam (6/5): Basic, good for the night. - Room was basic. Did the job. Wasn't given a towel on check in. And then charged £1 for the pleasure of using it. How generous! Just think this is penny pinching really what's the need to charge for a towel and for luggage storage when you're paying £72 for the night? Very unnecessary penny pinching that I think just loses a bit of goodwill regardless of whether it tells you this beforehand or not. Why not just charge £74 and I would be none the wiser.
• Verified traveler (4/5): It makes the job - Expected quality for a hostel of this kind and price. Rooms have a ventilation system which generates noise all the time. Bunk beds as expected. Communal areas ok. Close to night life quarters and amenities (e.g. Cathedral). Busy rooms, so a bit of luck needed to avoid snoring guests. Better to bring your own lock, towels and flip flops for shower.
• Julio (2/5): - Awful hostel. The rooms were smelly. Lockers were broken and relatively small. Bathrooms dirty. There were a lot of sketchy people living here. Not a travelers hostel. The location was good. Only good thing. If you can spend a little more, do so to stay in a better hostel.

• Felix (6/5): Solid accommodation choice but no breakfast. - I would recommend this hostel for someone looking for inexpensive and conveniently located accommodation in Liverpool. The room I stayed in is clean with a good shower and the hostel is quiet. I took a bus from the city centre to visit some places of interest in the suburbs of Liverpool not realising that there are buses that go past the hostel that go in that direction. The hostel doesn’t offer a breakfast which is a minus but there are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby.

• Nicola (4/5): Not the best, but friendly - This hostel is about 20 mins down hill to The Albert Dock, The bombed out church is on the hop on and off route. The room I was in (5) was extremley noisy even with ear plugs, there is a generator noise from the pub outside the window, which (for me) made it impossible to sleep until it was switched off around midnight. The pub also empties its very full bottle bin at midnight too. The room was spacious, however the bed was extremely uncomfortable, the springs make more noise than my bones. The springs also stab into your body when you turn. It has a good light and charging point next to your bed. The bag cage under the bed was spacious, however you have to lift a metal framed bed to pull it out and push it back in, it was heavy and hurts your fingers. The bins were not emptied from Friday till Monday. The hostel has a good sized games/TV room. Tea and coffee is free 24 hrs a day which is amazing. Reception is also 24 hrs.
• joni (8/5): - It was a last minute decision to stay over on a Sunday Bank Holiday weekend due to Northern Rail cancelling all evening trains home. I didn't want to spend a fortune so this double room came up. Staff were very friendly, room 22 was clean and quiet. Would happily stay again.

Kitchen well-stocked with utensils, pots, plates, bowls etc. Dormitory beds were great- had curtains, USB sockets and reading lights. Quality showers. Plenty of space to sit in lounge area.

• Guilherme da Silva (8/5): - It is a nice hostel, with a great cost-benefit ratio. The facilities are good and the rooms are comfy. The curtains over each bed even provide some privacy. The kitchen and game room are available and you can have a nice chat with people from all over the world.
• hye in (10/5): - it was 8 dorm but room is very wide, so it was not suffocated at all. bedding was also clean and nice. and very quiet but still close to the main street :) if I go to Liverpool again, I will def stay this hostel again.

There were no towels in the room and no TV. Wouldnt stay here again. Its literally only suitable for putting your head down after a few drinks. Very cheap and cheerful

Cons: bed felt old and a little lumpy, but it did the trick after a long day. The sheets felt clean, but the pillows were not. The shower was nice, but you can't turn on the water without being inside of it, so it was weird. The room was long and skinny. There was only 1 outlet. The bathroom was attached. The place stayed a good temperature the whole time. The shower was hot. The kitchen was a little ways down the hall. The pillows, throw pillows and bed frames didn't feel very clean. I ended up using a tee shirt over the pillow. One set of sheets felt and looked fine. The other set could have used a better wash. The shower didn't feel super clean, either. The toilet and general areas were fine. The community kitchen was very clean. The hallways needed a good vacuuming. The community kitchen is huge! lots of space with two sinks and free bread, tea and instant coffee. Check in was easy and pleasant. There is always someone at the front desk. The door to the rooms and each room door has a swipe card to get in. The area is fine! It's close to a lot of the shops and night life. The water and Albert dock is walking distance, but not super close. We had a fine stay! It's budget friendly, so I'd stay again if I needed a hostle with a private bath. Our room was on the front of the building, so even late at night it was loud out on the streets. I can sleep through anything, but it was worth mentioning.

• Dale (6/5): Disturbed sleep! - The bunks creak very easily! And mattresses are definitely sub-standard - akin to a 3rd world nation. Allowing drunk people check-in in at 3am is questionable. The (over-priced) self laundry was a bonus. The power outlets should be located close to each individual bed! The staff were friendly and helpful!
• laura (8/5): Great place for a cheap stay in liverpool - Great place to stay! Within walking distance of everywhere. Booked as was on a hen do with friends and was cheap and cheerful. Got what I paid for and free tea and toast aswell 👍. The only but iv marked down is cleanliness as the previous customers underwear was left in the bathroom behind the door, obviously it hadn't been seen but was quite a shock when I went to the loo to see a thing hanging from the towel rail lol!

I get its a hostel but its quite far removed from the friendly encompassing ethos of one. My room had one guy with all his belongings in it and 3 non english speakers all ignoring each other so it was not a friendly atmosphere. Sleep was more a series of 30min naps and when youd had enough of that the atmosphere just made you want to run

• Laura (6/5): Basic but simple things missing - It was a room with a bed and an ensuite. Basic, clean, but the mattress was incredibly uncomfortable. The ensuite had no toiletries whatsoever - I think at least soap should be provided, and no towels. I have never stayed anywhere in Liverpool where basic toiletries and towels weren't provided, so on this basis I would give it a miss in future.
• Joe (6/5): Good but very noisy! - Generally good. Cheap. But beds uncomfortable. And there is no monitoring of noise levels in the hallway or bedrooms. So you take a chance with with you share a room with and some people can be very noisy and stop you sleeping. And the staff will not do anything to help you. Otherwise good.
• Vikki (4/5): Less than badic. - Sparse small room with only 2 single, bad condition ( chunks missing from frame and screws visible) uncomfortable beds, poor quality bedding and pillows with no extra avaible when I asked for them.no towels or toiletries provided. No tv in room, two badly placed sockets. Glow from emergency lighting kept the room light all night. Main light dim and badly placed.Paper thin walls, so very noisy when other guests returned late at night. Tea only available in communal kitchen. No breakfast facilities. Less than 10 mins from city centre. Overall clean. Check-in receptionist was pleasant however she did not ask how things were when we checked out which speaks volumes. Would not recommend to single mothers with young children at all. In fact can't recommend in the slightest. I've had much better, cheaper hotels closer to the city centre.

• Eleonora (8/5): Very good stay - almost everything about the hotel was great: very friendly staff, very clean rooms, perfect location. the only criticism was that all the doors were extremely creaky, so every time someone on my floor came back at night i was woken up. this can be easily fixed though. overall i definitely recommend the International Inn

• Alan (8/5): Good value for a hostel. - Ok, for value for money, this was really very good. Unbeatable compared to hotel prices. Its clean and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. It is very basic though. Literally a bed, a chair and a bin in the room, nothing else. I had asked for twin beds but we got a bunk. Our room (#3) was directly above the lobby so the noise from guests and from people in the pubs on both sides meant we could not get to sleep on the Friday night. Construction work began early Saturday morning also outside our window which woke us up. I know this can't be helped. The location is fine, about 15min walk from Liverpool One / centre. Surrounding area is also fine. Overall, I'd say if you are a backpacker, are coming for a match or a stag/hen and you're not fussy about comforts you'd normally find in a hotel then go for it. Two nights for two people for a hundred quid really cant be beaten.
• mel (4/5): - Was downgraded without even been told. Only why I asked why the room did not match what I had booked, was I told about massive damaged due to leaks. However, we should have been told in the first place. - : Curtains are not black out ! - : the bathroom energy saving switches off automatically after about 2 min often meaning you find yourself in the dark (even while in the shower). - : Wi-Fi only in communal area - : fixed and high shower head is very unpractical, wet your hair even if you don't want to ! - : no shower mat outside the shower is dangerous as there is bound to be water when exiting the shower. - : our bathroom door creaked a lot (room 2). - : only one seat (despite being a room for 2 people with a bunk bed) - : bare minimum: only toilet paper. Not even soap to wash hands. - : weekend can be a bit loud as some people smoke and talk right underneath the window (room 2). However sleeping with earplugs made it ok. +: hostel very well situated : very close to town center and train station (10min walk) +: secure building +: staffs were nice and helpful with directions + : clean

Ideal location close to city centre with good transport links. Basic breakfast and wifi only available in common rooms, but good value for a short stay.
• Scott (6/5): OK - I have to say the man at the front desk was very helpful and honest. We thought we may have to stay in a bunk bed room but he got us a twin as they had one available. The bed was ok, i didnt expect anything more but there wasnt any working heaters in our room and being that it was minus penguin outside it wasnt nice. Overal it done its job, a bed for the night before the merseyside derby but a working heater and a TV would have been nice.

Breakfast only coffee , toast spreads etc in shared kitchen so all the bread had gone by time we went at 9.30 but just went to local cafe , no disaster Can't fault the place and reccommend for overnight stay when out for the nightlife

One review states how noisy it is but we found the hostel quiet and peaceful. Free tea, coffee and toast 24 hours so perfect for breakfast before exploring the city and surrounding area. Excellent location for discovering Merseybeat and Beatlemania, even finding a pub the Quarrymen used to frequent! Would definitely rebook should we visit Liverpool again. 4/5
• dave (2/5): dirty smelly room with no amenities. - thought looked fine in pics. had to go down dark corridor to access room stunk of stale (Chinese? food ) toilet dirty. Room barren and not very clean dingy - nothing but a bed 6 x 10 room / meagre curtains- allowed light into noisy outside lane area. I didn't even stay and rebooked somewhere else. didn't even provide towel unless another £ 1!! awful
