- Mike (3/5): Disappointing. When checking out I was met with some sympathy and "we'll fix this for the next guest - Check in was great and room very clean. Although not a fan of cushions leaning on the pillows as I suspect the covers are not often changed. The wardrobe had an automatic light that keept coming on every 5 minutes around 2 - 6 am. I had a terrible sleep.

Also the hotel charges a surcharge on all credit card transactions- ridiculous when they ask for a credit card for payment. I understand small businesses making a charge but an international chain. Really !!!!

- jimcB3353LE (4/5): I doubt if we will be back even as we are rewards members. - We arrived after 3 in the afternoon and the first thing the desk clerk told me was the room was ready yet. As we came for my brother-in-laws funeral, we were already upset and stressed so he didn't help the situation at all. I had a paid reservation in advance. He then said he found us a room and that's all it was as it was very small and they kept changing the room temperture all the time which really sucked. Most staff were great and the buffet bnreakfast was the best. I am a rewards member but wasn't treated like one. I'm not sure if we would stay again as the manager (nicke? ) told me on the phone to see her when we came but she was off the whole time we were there. The dinner menu had a lot to be disered for as the choices were not very good and terrible expensive. The man at the desk just gave us our room cards and we didn't even know how to operate the elevator and he had to come twice to help us. Then when we finally got to our room there was no instructions how to operate the TV or the air temperture, so it was all just a guess to try and figure things out. Very bad welcome coming from Hamilton already stressed. There are a few more upsets at your hotel but no body cares so that's enough. Doubt if we will be there again. The George sounds a nicer place anyway. Very small rooms for a king size bed.

- Zigmeister10 (10/5): Lovely Hotel Centrally Located! - This hotel is very centrally located and right across the street from a lovely park. Restaurants were a short walk away with tons of restaurants to choose from. The museum and botanical gardens are also a short walk away. We had a lovely room on the 8th floor with a balcony overlooking the part. Sitting outside watching the sun set over the little city was lovely! On our last few days there, our flights through Dubai were cancelled which was very stressful for us. The night manager at the hotel was so kind and allowed us to use their phone to try and contact our travel agent. She went above and beyond to help us and we are very grateful to her. I wish I could remember her name. It was the night of March 9th or 10th as I recall. The hotel also has lovely amenities. Don't miss the breakfast! We will definitely be staying at IHG hotels in the future!

- Greenfielder (10/5): Lovely welcome to New Zealand - This hotel was an excellent start to an extended visit to New Zealand. We were able to check in immediately around midday and set about exploring this beautiful city. The hotel has a very convenient location and is just by the Victoria Square stop on the city's tourist tram. Comfortable, clean room and an excellent breakfast.

Helped us get an earlier check in when we enquired and a late check out which was appreciated. Great location! When we got to our room there were only 3 towels when 4 of us were staying there. Called at 4pm to get a new towel to reception and it never came, called again at 9pm and it came then. Upon check in on Saturday Housekeeping kept the dirty linens and room service dirty plates and trays in the hallway most of the day.

Breakfast was a huge let down. We complained about the temperature of the hot food two out of three visits. No outcome of complaints were received.
