- Jovielyn (9/5): Overall, it's lovely and comfortable, adding to my positive impression and great stay in Keswick. I am recommending - This is a lovely bed & breakfast property. And the hosts are accommodating try to connect with you. Though the room was small, still comfortable for a single person. I should have booked for 2 persons as I wanted a bigger room.
- Joanne (10/5): Very warm welcome from John and Julia. Spotless and exceptionally comfortable en-suite room. Delicious breakfast. If we - Everything Not applicable
- Glynis (10/5): Great value for money, friendly hospitality, peaceful comfort, off-street parking - ticks all boxes! - Generous breakfast, offering plenty of choice, cooked to order and using good quality ingredients. Great location with parking and just a five-minute walk from the town centre.
- Marcus (10/5): Friendly, great breakfast and great value. - The owners were great, very helpful and nothing was a problem. The room was warm, comfortable and clean. Great breakfast. Private parking. Nothing. Exceeded my expectations.
- Simon (10/5): Lovely hosts excellent breakfast and lovely hosts. - Very comfortable bed and very clean throughout. Excellent full English and nice hosts. There is parking at the rear of the property which is rare for Keswick. Nothing
- Stephen (10/5): Very friendly hosts and knowledgeable about the area - Great location just a couple of minutes walk to the town centre
- Alex (10/5): -
- Barry (10/5): - Good location, excellent hosts
- Ashburner (10/5): Very enjoyable and relaxing - Breakfast was perfect 10/10
Location great, 5 minutes walk to Town centre The weather
- Julie (10/5): Excellent location, lovely accommodation, great breakfast and just whatever needed for an excellent break - It was clean and well presented and an excellent location There was nothing we didn’t like
- Brenda (9/5): A really enjoyable time, would certainly recommend. - We had everything we needed. Little extras ie different teas and hot chocolate. Great breakfast choices. Found the bed a little too firm.
- Ian (9/5): Super New Year Break - The property has its own parking. the location was perfect for us. There were five of us and we all enjoyed our lovely rooms, the breakfast choice was very good and all freshly cooked.
We arrived early and the owners who were very accommodating.
Thank you for a lovely stay. There was nothing to dislike.
- paul (10/5): -
- Gregory (10/5): All good - All nice and tidy Only problem I came across was, sink plug in room 6 didn’t close fully. Forgot to mention it on leaving
- Maria (10/5): - Very accommodating hosts, flexible with check-in times, we arrived early, asked if we could just park our car and were told we could check in as well. Helped us make more of our first day. John was
very informative regarding local restaurants and pubs. Property was spotlessly clean, bedroom/bed very comfortable. Delicious full English breakfast really set you up for walking in the hills. Would definitely return and highly recommend. Provision also made for boot storage and coats, plus drying facility if needed, howevrt we were lucky with the weather... Nothing
- christopher (9/5): Great stay, thanks - Julia and John were very helpful in suggesting walks and places to eat and drink. Our rooms were good and the breakfasts offered lots of choice and included nice touches like fresh fruit.

- Margaret (8/5): Very enjoyable - The property was very clean and warm. The location was good and there was parking which was a bonus. The owners/ staff were very friendly and helpful , the breakfast was very enjoyable x There wasn’t anything we didn’t like but I did feel that the half step leading up the stairs from the second floor to the third floor needed to be highlighted in some way I almost slipped off it when carrying my bags The patterned carpet masked the half step somewhat. A notice near the step would have been helpful
- Chris (10/5): -
- Coldwell (7/5): -
- James (10/5): - Outstanding communication, friendliness, and flexibility from the hosts. Great wifi, great location, great price
- Christine (8/5): -
- Krystian (9/5): An ideally located and lovely BnB, with excellent hosts - Very cute, without being tired. Excellent location. Very kind and accommodating hosts
- Robert (7/5): - Food was dried out for breakfast
- Christopher (9/5): Great weekend away - Lovely hosts, fab breakfast and very hand location. Nothing.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Great place to stay as a solo traveller - Accommodation was very clean, comfortable and in a great location. The hosts were friendly and helpful. It was an easy 5 mins walk into the town centre. Breakfast choices were excellent and overall I felt very welcomed as a first time solo traveller staying 2 nights. Nothing I didn't like!
- Jim (8/5): Small but perfectly formed. - We really enjoyed the breakfast, which was well-organised using the well-designed form. John and Julia were warm, friendly, and attentive at breakfast. The accommodation, while on the small side, was more than enough for the two of us. There wasn't anything we disliked; however, the shower wasn't very powerful and the shower room was on the small side.
- Sam (7/5): - It would have been nice if the breakfasts were scaled. You get more food for each box you tick but if you have dietary requirements, so can't have most of the options, you end up with a really small plate. Would be better to have more of each item that you did tick so that the breakfast is still a decent size.
I did ask in advance what the breakfast options would be for vegan options but didn't get a response so did bring my own food as well. The company "This" make really good vegan sausages and bacon. Would recommend those for a more tasty and filling vegan breakfast option, its in all big supermarkets.

- Merle (10/5): A wonderful stay with welcoming hosts and great breakfast. - We had an absolutely wonderful two-night stay at Tarn Hows. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed by our hosts, who went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. The room was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
Breakfast each morning was delicious, freshly prepared, and really set us up for the day. The location is ideal, peaceful and beautiful, with easy access to stunning walks and nearby attractions.
What really made our stay special was the genuine hospitality. Our hosts were friendly, attentive, and happy to share tips about the local area, which made us feel truly at home.
We can’t recommend Tarn Hows highly enough and would love to return! None
- Victoria (10/5): Short stay - Beautiful breakfast. Clean room, bathroom clean but a little tight for maneuvering. The bed sloped to one side when laying down but all in all very good accommodation and close walking into town centre. 5 mins As above
- Sarah (10/5): Excellent stay, great location with parking! - Tarn Hows was in an excellent position- a short walk into the hustle and bustle of the town. It was immaculate. The room was excellent, as was the breakfast. We’ll definitely return! The weather was very hot so a fan left in the wardrobe might be useful for those times.
- Jill (10/5): -
- Deb (9/5): Enjoyable short break - Great location with ample parking and very clean accommodation. Hosts greet you on arrival. Excellent breakfast Breakfast times could be extended
- john (6/5): Pleasant stay - Clean and comfortable and nicely decorated.
Male host very chatty and friendly.
Car park at back was useful.
Good breakfast selection. Short window for having breakfast.
Female host not as chatty and friendly as male host.
- Cole (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Excellent. - Lovely clean house and rooms in a very quiet and peaceful area of Keswick with excellent and easy access to the square and to wider afield.
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Everything needed for a wonderful stay in Keswick- location, parking on site, cleanliness, hearty food & lovely owners
- Amaury (8/5): I'd come back! - Lots of solo rooms in this BnB so we had very lively chats in the mornings with other guests and the hosts, discussing the area and possible hikes. Rooms are cozy and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious every day. Ideal spot for hikers, close to Keswick centre (highly recommend the cinema on a rainy day) and the main hikes in the area around Derwentwater. Boot room and boiler room available to dry shoes and clothes. Thank you for a great stay!
- Anne (8/5): Very good -
- Renate (5/5): I would not book this place again. - Breakfasts were good Our room was tiny. There was only one chair in it for two people. The bathroom was also small and had insufficient facilities for hanging up wet towels.
There was no lounge , so nowhere to sit other than our bedroom-see above. This is an issue in a place like the Lake District where it often rains.
- Kenwright (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable beds and very clean. John and Julia where lovely hosts
- Margreta (8/5): Very good -
- Catherine (9/5): Welcoming place to stay - The hosts were welcoming and accommodating when I asked to store my suitcases early. It was clean and had everything I needed. Breakfast was tasty and well timed. It was an easy walk from the bus station. The bed was really uncomfortable. I felt like I was sliding off the mattress the whole time. I couldn’t figure out if the floor was slanted or if it was the mattress. One other thing, I have social anxiety and I did not like being obliged to share a breakfast table with a stranger just because I was a party of one.
- Ben (9/5): Great hosts John and Julia. So friendly and helpful and handled all my dietary/room needs perfectly. - Great location for getting to lake and town. nothing
- Julian (8/5): Very good -
- Brian (9/5): Superb -
- Pauline (8/5): Lovely spotless house. Great breakfast & good location. - Breakfast was made to order & it was very good.
The place was spotless and in a nice location, not far to walk to the town centre. Our bathroom was very small. That said it had what we required.
- Bullock (10/5): Tarn Hows made my holiday - A great location in the heart of Keswick parking was a joy and the host were very pleasant and welcoming. Nothing.
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional -
- Butterworth (8/5): Convenient location ,clean accomadation - Breakfast was good choice ok You had to have breakfast before 0900 am that meant you had to get up early
- Hollis (8/5): Excellent comfortable clean accommodation in a great location - Accommodation was in a quiet location with a short walk to the town. Room was immaculate and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. Water pressure to the shower could be improved
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Juliana (9/5): Lovely place to stay in Keswick :) - Loved this place. I booked it relatively last minute for a quick trip to Keswick as the usual place I stayed was fully booked.
Julia and John were both so lovely and gave me great tips for walks around the area.
The location was excellent and very close to shops and parks with bus stop just around the corner :)
I booked the single room which was very cute and cosy and very clean :) perfect for a single person
Breakfast was great with good options and I would defo come back. Thank you Julia and John!
- Philip (10/5): Ideal - Owners were friendly. The accommodation was located close to the town centre, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Breakfast was excellent with a wide selection of things to choose from. Nothing.

- Vidette (10/5): Exceptional - Great breakfast/choices, has parking at back of property and lovely hosts.
- Max (9/5): Amazing stay for nights between hikes in Lake District with everything to make the night and morning - Traditional English breakfast plus some fruits or granola to make you comfy. Good rooms, heating, lots of power sockets. Very pleasant stay. The hosts are very friendly and could give you advice on places around (or Lake District overall). The private parking place is convenient and the whole street is also free to park (but could be busy in season). No sweets for the breakfast except jams for the toast and some fruits. The Wi-Fi speed is not the best and could be an issue on late evening when other people also use it.
- Lesley (10/5): Great location. - Perfect location for our stay in Keswick. Got parked right outside the accommodation on our arrival. Close to the town centre.
- Nicholas (8/5): Very good - Clean, comfortable, warm. Great breakfast.
- Ann (9/5): Excellent base for a short break in Keswick - Very well located near town centre, comfortable and well designed rooms, friendly owners and good breakfast. Ample parking which is very useful indeed. We liked everything but a lounge would have been nice in the bad weather during our stay.
